Perfect date night . small plate style and heavenly prepared foods. Room for dessert and satisfied (every tastebud... ) Each item was served quickly. The menu was described to us in a meaningful way. Each item's description enticed us to want to try it! The Quail was a little spicy in just the right way. The fish was crispy on the skin side and the meat side, flakey to perfection, moist and amazing. Hiding beneath the fish was a layer of potatoes, kayle and a few bits of bacon! We shared a side and finished the meal with pineapple upside down cake and a couple perfected cocktails from the bar. The staff were all a tentative and friendly, not uptight at all, a relaxed atmosphere. New neighborhood favorite. Chef owned and operated as it should be... Pride in each crafted piece. East side "is" the friendly side.

Beautiful place of business/dinning. Even though the restaurant is small compared to most, I assure you that your experience eating or just enjoying one of a kind cocktails, will be enormously memorable. I will be enjoying one more visit before the unfortunate closing of the restaurant. So I encourage you if you are reading this to get over there and enjoy before it's too late.

A quaint little restaurant with a touch of old school flair and an extreme passion for great food and drinks. On top of food that rivals the big buck steak houses and an impressive drink selection the wait staff is attentive and never leaves you waiting for long, but is also does not intrude as well. The atmosphere is that of a very local gem that once you find you will understand the value of its treasure. The staff in the kitchen and the front of the house have a desire to please their customers and it shows in the next level food and servers that make you feel welcome. Now the only potential issue I could see with this place is if you come on a busy night you may have to wait for a seat and parking is a tad sparse but other than that it is pure MN perfection.

My wife and I went to Strip Club for the first time to celebrate my birthday. We have been trying to make it there for a while based on recommendations from other family members. First concern I had was the neighborhood it is in. It was a little scary walking to my car at the end of the meal when it was dark. When we arrived we were seated very promptly and ordered our drinks. We ordered our apps and meals. I ordered steak and my wife was looking to order fish. "The Strip Club Meat & FISH" restaurant only had one fish option. I thought that was a little odd! The menu didn't have a lot of options for entree either..three steak dishes, a chicken dish, a rib dish, a poultry dish and a fish dish. Also, I had to pay extra for the sauce I wanted on my steak. The staff was very friendly and checked in on us often. It did take us quite a while to get our meals...at least 30-40 minutes. The food, when it arrived, was very tasty and my wife and I were very satisfied with the food. Then the bill arrived...$105 for two beers, one appetizer, two entree's. When going out to dinner everyone is looking for value and I feel this was not a good value. Too expensive for the portion sizes and too many extras. So in closing, the food and service as very good. I felt it was a little too expensive for what we received. Not a lot of options on the menu. The neighborhood is a little scary. Although we had a good meal and a good time I don't think I would return the Strip Club.

We went here for the first time around New Year's. It was an awesome experience! The ambience, the character of the building was fabulous. The service too, was second to none. That coupled with the most delicious meal creation made it my new favorite haunt in St Paul. I would highly recommend it for dinner or even appetizers and drinks. Simply FABULOUS!

We've celebrated many special occasions here (birthdays, anniversaries, holidays) and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the service is attentive and the ambiance is intimate and cozy, perfect for a couple or small party. If you're looking for high-quality food and service without the usual stuffiness and pretense of fine dining, The Strip Club Meat & Fish is an excellent choice.

To be fair, I have never tried their main menu items, but I have always been immensely pleased with their small plates. And the drinks are the best in town. I don't say that lightly. Every time I bring a friend I always suggest telling the server/bartender/whoever what your palette is craving and let them find the right drink for you. I can't say that about any other place in town.

The service was absolutely great but I can't say the same for the food. We wanted to give the place a try before they closed as it has really great reviews. My friend and I each ordered the New York strip for $38 and asked for it medium. The server warned that it would be a warm pink center but it was still incredibly rare and did not have much flavor. My fiance ordered a burger and asked for no pink but it and the bun were both charred and inedible. Another friend ordered a burger medium and it was near rare in the center. Out of the 4 of us, no one finished their meal. The French fries and asparagus were very good but I'm not paying for a $100 meal for good fries.
