"Launched in St. George, Utah, and expanded to the westside in 2016, The Sugar Cookie is promising its second local outpost is coming soon to Eastern Avenue, displaying its new signage as proof. The lease was signed at Henderson's Sunridge Village Plaza back in October and the 1,200-square-foot cookie and ice cream emporium will take over suite 109, close to the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Sunridge Heights Parkway, joining new neighbors CraftKtichen and Osaka Japanese Bistro. The original at 4624 W. Sahara Ave. bakes every day with “real butter and real cream cheese and make everything from scratch,” with no added preservatives. On the menu, mini-frosted cookies in flavors like chocolate cherry, red velvet, coconut or lemon are available in a group of four for $2.95 and 20 for $11.95. Large versions are priced at $2.25 for a single and $18.95 a dozen. Sugar and shortbread options range in price from $1.55 to $11.95 for a dozen and customers can also build $4.50 ice cream cookie sandwiches. Another popular item is the cookie creation that arrives in a jar in flavors including key lime pie, cinnamon roll, and apple crumble. Serving on Sahara from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, an exact opening date and opening hours in Henderson have yet to be revealed." - Bradley Martin

Very bad experience. There were two employees working when I came in. One of them was on the phone and totally ignored me, not saying a single word, just glancing at me briefly and walking away. The other was in the back washing dishes, or something like that. She had AirPods in and seemed totally oblivious to the fact that I was there.

Edit: upping my review as the sugar cookies tasted better the second day. Flavors are still not amazing but the cookies are really soft and still yummy. Still standing by most of what I said yesterday: Cookies are severely over priced and just not great! The original flavor was the sample of the day and that one was good. I tried the chocolate mint, had to take a couple bites cuz I couldn’t understand what I was eating. Tasted like a gluten free cookie or something, no chocolate flavor, no mint flavor. Tried the lemon, cherry, orange, and coconut flavors. Subpar!! Coconut was the best overall.

I'm generally not a big fan of sugar cookies but The Sugar Cookie is Really delicious.👍 I Love the not-too-sweet cream cheese frosting flavors 😋

Google
Delicious sugar cookies with a ton of flavors! The amount of flavors and the option of a bunch of mini cookies really sets this place apart. That’s a ton of fun! However, that also means that they aren’t all winners. I personally prefer fewer choices from a carefully curated selection of their best possibilities but I can understand the appeal of just lots of flavors for sure. Cute on the inside, kind of a throwback decor and really friendly employees who are always happy to check if the have more that aren’t right under the glass. Go ahead and try this place out!

Google
SO GOOD!! I recommend the Old Fashioned sugar cookie (more chewy and less cakey), the rolled oats cookie, peanut butter and the butter butter. We came to St George for a girls trip and I hunk this will be a new favorite stop when we come back!

Google
My experience was awesome. 5 star +!! Yeah with a little back story I am wheelchair bound I've included a picture showing me and three of my grandkids having wheelchair race. It is one of their favorite activities. But on another day I was taking my daily morning roll up the hill to see the top of the hill where most of the flowers were blooming and it was beautiful I found about 300 rose bushes. I also happened on the day I went up to find a lady that said her cactus was in bloom, when she pointed to it only blooms for two days every three years and it was in bloom and I took a picture of that. and two other flowers that only bloom once a year. See below. That day I was riding up green springs Dr went all the way up took these pictures and took pictures of dozens of roses it was beautiful in spring may maytime took the three pictures of these fabulous flowering cactuses as I got on a 10 mile trip I fell out of my chair accidentally on mile nine almost home and I was laying on the ground. After calling several people and not being able to get any help quickly, I did get my church member ministering Angel he brought someone else but I counted as I laid on the ground I counted 21 cars that went by nobody stopped to offer by the time he got there 51 cars had gone by and no one stopped to help. Finally my angel and a friend (both 75 year young men) and the 52nd passing car stopped with a man and his 17 year old son. ( found out their last name was shumway) after they all helped me get up and get back in my chair and i went home hurt and bleeding to be checked out by my hospice nurse. The next day I eventually rewarded them all with sugar cookie cakes a dozen each and then I had a half a dozen for me and my wife. They were delicious, they were great rewards, great treats and they tasted delicious. the variations were awesome! thank you thank you thank you The Sugar Cookie. You've been my favorite ever since.

Google
A little confused about these… too flour-y on the outside and almost a cakey/dry brownie texture. Not quite a sugar cookie I would choose. Flavor options were good and frostings are yummy. Probably wouldn’t eat them again. Nice service and cute shop.

Katie

Google
Best cookie place in St. George. Cookies are so soft and love that they have sample cookies available. So soft. Lemon and original small cookies are my favorite!! Always nice staff. 10/10 recommend!

Alyssa S.

Yelp
The Sugar Cookie literally has the best tasting cookies!! They are efficient, and very kind when I go in. Great for hosting too! They are so good!

Danielle R.

Yelp
Even better than I had imagined. Samples are always a great welcoming gift and these didn't disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful in deciding which option to get. Not as easy decision but I'm convinced you can't go wrong!

Chad C.

Yelp
If you happen to be traveling through Saint George and feel the urge to have some cookies, then you definitely want to stop by this local gem, the sugar cookie offers over 30 different types of cookies. Five Stars !

Madeline P.

Yelp
I took my kids here to pick out a little treat and it was hard to choose! Love that they have mini and regular sized options. The cookie is a softer, chewy texture and the flavors are so delicious. I loved the frosting on top and the girl working was kind and helpful.

Christianna D.

Yelp
This is my all time favorite cookie shop. They ate soft and the cookie to frosting ratio is 10/10 every time. The mini sugar cookies are my sweet spot. I went in a few weeks ago and was introduced to the cookie bowl. Wow. Literally life changing. Anything you get here is a good choice!

Lindsay W.

Yelp
Delicious cookies. Got a bunch of minis , super soft cookie and the icing is delicious almost tastes like a Bundt cake

Becky B.

Yelp
The costumer service was great. He was patient with me while I decided what to get. The cookies are tasty and super soft. I just feel like the frosting could taste a little more flavorful.

Jon W.

Yelp
Well, The cookies were fantastic. We got the small ones in a 9 pack to try as many as possible. I think I was the biggest fan of the chocolate with cream cheese. The ice cream sandwich was good, but would have preferred vanilla for the ice cream. The plain sugar cookie wasn't good to me, but my wife liked it. Loved the lemon sugar cookie. Loved the coconut sugar cookie. None of the staff were wearing masks, a bunch of teenagers, who were attentive though. Not wearing masks was a little confusing of how they were allowed to do that, but kinda made sense considering the cute crazy of little southern Utah mentality, Bless you.

Geselle R.

Yelp
We were greeted with the smell of warm baked goods! As you walk in, you can see the display of cookies. They make cookie sandwiches and serve cookies/ice cream individually. They also have little cookie jars with frosting which are super cute. I got a snickerdoodle cookie with a scoop of vanilla. It wasn't too bad. I wish the snickerdoodle was warmed up but other than that it wasn't too sweet and the vanilla ice cream was a good balance with it. The ladies working were nice, it just took a little bit to get our dessert.

Hillary L.

Yelp
Picked up a bunch of minis and a chocolate sugar cookie. So delicious! I was so pleased with the sweet employees. Drew was so friendly and helpful with her recommendations. I told her I was craving something with peanut butter and she made my day making me a yummy chocolate peanut butter cookie! The sugar cookies is a hidden gem!

Amy W.

Yelp
The staff behind the counter is super friendly and helpful. They wore gloves, mask (also required for customers ) and the shop was clean. There is a small sample area which is based on help yourself system, however I do think the employees should handle the sampling. But that's just me. Let's get to the fun part...the cookies. My family loved them! Our favorite was the original. The cookies are soft and the frosting was not overly artificial or sweet. We also picked up a day old cookies which was $6 and they were perfectly fine to eat. It did not taste old at all. My personal favorite was the snickerdoodle. I highly recommend to check out this shop if you are craving something sweet on the road to Zion Canyon.

Michelle V.

Yelp
I love the soft texture of the cookies. The peanut butter chocolate chip are amazing. I'm a snickerdoodle fan and I was a little disappointed in the snickerdoodle to be honest. All the mini sugar cookies are delicious I love the size I am so glad that you can buy them at any time without having to have a 50 count minimum. Oh another pretty good kid I still think Crumbl is better.

Erin J.

Yelp
Near perfection. I LOVE that they sell mini sugar cookies; that way, I got to try all 12 flavors I'm pretty sure I loved them all. Still not my favorite sugar cookie, but I'm thinking it's now my #2. LOVED the original and the coconut the best. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the cookie itself was a tad to light and airy for me. My personal taste is a more dense cookie. But I'd for sure eat here again and again if I could!! UPDATE: second time here: just as satisfied. Exact same review I'd give. Original and coconut are the clear winners.

J M.

Yelp
Best cookies in town but don't expect great service. It's not what it used to be since new owners took over. That used to be the first place we went for our company events to buy in bulk but now we shop elsewhere.

J S.

Yelp
THESE COOKIES TASTE HOMEMADE. There seems to be a trend with other companies that a thicker, bigger cookie is better. NOT SO. All the thick cookies out there don't taste good at room temperature. Test it out for yourself. I don't know what makes the cookies so thick with other companies but I am guessing they use a lot of lard. The SUGAR COOKIE uses natural tasting fruit flavors for the frosting etc. I can always taste a fake flavor. I tasted a raspberry flavor at another company and the flavor was so fake, I threw it out. You can always taste subpar chocolate chips too. I am a cookie snob and THE SUGAR COOKIE has the best taste. AND.....the customer service was great!!! There you have it.

Rosie V.

Yelp
The girl at the counter was sweet, we were out from California and saw this place on Yelp. The cookies are so good. We got two dozen of their mini cookies, and a few sugar cookies. Plus two cookie parfait. They were delicious.

Sharon A.

Yelp
we bought a box of 4....very good cookies! 1 cookie is filling! would recommend highly if you r a cookie lover!

Fara C.

Yelp
Cookies are no match for Crumbl cookies as well as their lousy, rude service at The Sugar Cookie. Owner woman with blond hair wears headsets to listen to music while she works and totally ignores customers' questions. I tried to asker questions at least 3 times to no avail. Her husband looked embarrassed and finally waited on me. Sugar cookies with pink frosting were half baked and fell apart. Not worth the stop or your money!

Carrie O.

Yelp
Mini cookies. Fantastic idea so you can try more than one. Frosting wasn't too sweet which was very welcome. But the cookie itself was not a cookie texture. It was almost bread-like; spongy and would not compress, but bounce back after a bite. I still plan on going back and trying the goods again to see if this was a fluke.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Definitely yummy...I especially like the minis. The orange, cherry & coconut icing is my favorite. The molasses cookie is delicious as well. They are quite presentable as a gift. The sugar cookies are more like muffin tops...meaning they are cake like in nature...not dense or gooey like a typical sugar cookie. The molasses cookie is more traditional...though it's not iced. The icing portion is generous which is good because I love icing.

Yelp
I am blown away that St. George has so many gourmet cookie shops. I plan to try one each time we visit, from Vegas. The Sugar Cookie is bright and clean, and the young lady who helped me was very friendly. I couldn't decide, so she steered.me toward the boxes of "day-olds", which had a variety of flavors. I bought one of the frosted, one of the traditional, and an additional packet of peanut butter traditional. I had a brother who was super allergic to peanuts, so I appreciate that they package those separately! Since I love Lofthouse cookies, I tried the frosted first. Excellent cookie, very light texture, but was overwhelmed by the massive amount of frosting. The frosting seems to have some cream cheese in it? It is very fluffy, but there was just too much of it. The unfrosted cookies, though, were the best I have ever had! Soft, chewy, and so flavorful! They come in many flavors, so you can get your favorite for sure. Oh, and ALL of the cookies tasted fresh, not "day old" at all! Overall, a 5-star experience; although my preference would be for somewhat less frosting. I will be back!

Eric T.

Yelp
Had to make the difficult decision of choosing between The Sugar Cookie, Crumbl and Swig. We decided to order from The Sugar Cookie because we have never tried their cookies before. We bought a dozen to share with friends and family. They were gobbled up as soon as the box was opened. The first thing I noticed was how soft they are. Most cookies out there today are quite chewy but not these... I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the best cookies I've ever eaten. I highly recommend them.

Kathee C.

Yelp
We had a heck of a time finding this place because my phone kept giving the wrong directions but I'm so glad we persevered!! Best peanut butter cookie OF MY LIFE. No picture because I had no willpower. We got there right before closing and there wasn't a lot left but I don't think it matters, whatever they have when you go buy one! The person helping us said they are opening one in Salt Lake soon and I can't wait!!

Kathy O.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp while visiting St George-was looking for a bakery. This is my new favorite place. Cookies are PHENOMENAL!!! This place will always be a stop for us when in town.

Hoby V.

Yelp
Just passing through St. George, it was nice to find a source of desserts that isn't some giant corporate chain. We called in a cookie sampler for pickup and enjoyed the many flavors. I'd get more if we're ever in that town again.

Joshua C.

Yelp
I really enjoy coming here, the staff is always friendly and they have some incredible desserts. If you want to have a fun and unique treat that is equally delicious you should stop by.

Bill H.

Yelp
Purchased a dozen cookies here last week and I have to admit they were fabulous! I particularly liked the molasses cookies I could set and eat a whole dozen of these. The other cookies were just as good! I'd definitely recommend this place to others!

Susan N.

Yelp
Ordered 100 cookies from the The Sugar Cookie I looked at my receipts and they had added a $30 tip which I never authorized nor did they disclose that it was on the invoice, not a very good way to do business.

Caroline J.

Yelp
Best cookies in town! The minis are great two bite cookies. Love to give them as gifts!

Nettifer W.

Yelp
I have to give 5 stars because I love that they make little cookies and in so many flavors. Perfect for when you don't want a full cookie! This store made happy!!! So many flavors and they were really soft. The frosting was light and fluffy and full of flavor. I bought a box of day old cookies and they were he rolled cookies and they were awesome - Even a day old. I loved the shortbread jam cookies the best out of the day old box but the other ones were just as good. We tried every flavor of the sugar cookies and the original was my favorite then it would be chocolate coconut frosting cookie - I have a weakness for coconut. I actually really liked them all. You can't go wrong.

Pamela H.

Yelp
We wanted to try something new. We looked up dessert businesses and this yummy place came up. Delicious! I would definitely recommend!

Mary H.

Yelp
So yummy!!! We visited here on vacation but we will be back. Super yummy cookies. A bit pricey and no one was wearing masks but otherwise all cookies were perfect!!

Betty W.

Yelp
Bookclub treats. There is nothing like having a diverse group "taste test" a product in various selections. We don't often rate our book selections with a "5", but our stomachs had no problems. We chose 2 dozen of the smaller frosted sugar cookies in an assortment of every flavor. Orange w/ buttercream, chocolate w/ peanutbutter, red velvet w/ buttercream, I suspect all flavors were included. I asked about "nuts" for those that might be allergic. My order taker was knowledgeable regarding ingredients. This shop would be easy to work with for any dietary restrictions. Don't want the frosting...just the cookies? Ask. Want different frosting other than current combinations? Ask. If it can't be done, they will tell you. Maybe not for just a few cookies, but maybe they might be lenient for a larger quanity. The facility is bright, clean and welcoming. I found the service cordial and accommodating. I ordered the day before for pickup on bookclub day. I only wish they had a more visual presence from River Road. Just make that turn at Winger's. We have taste tested cookies from Rowley's Red Barn, Fat Boy's Ice Cream Sandwiches, Kneader's cookies, Harmon's cookies, Costco's cookies, Magleby's cakes, Sweet Tooth cupcakes. We welcome Crumble's next month.

Joe Q.

Yelp
It's not the worst cookie place, but it's not great either. There are two types of cookies here: 1. Big, flat, and chewy cookies; and 2. small, meringue like, and chewy cookies with frosting. Cookie #1 comes in a few simple flavors (sugar, snickerdoodle, and molasses). They are alight. Cookie #2 comes in a variety of flavors with a variety of frosting toppings. This cookie tastes similar a meringue cookie. It's very airy and different from other cookies. While it is light, I feel it lacks substance. Maybe that's made up for by the frosting. To me the fosting is too sweet and has a hint of the flavor it claims to be, but it needs more. I just didn't care for this cookie at all. Overall This place just isn't for me. I like plain cookies, but I prefer chocolate chips, macadamia nuts, and other items to be added to my cookies. I'm also not a huge fan of overly sweet frosting. The sweetness takes away from all flavor and leaves you with just sweet. For me, I would go elsewhere or make my own.

Jade B.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place out because the high reviews but it missed the mark for me personally. I was visiting out of town and Where I live I got some really good sugar cookie places to compare so comparing they just didn't hit near as good. We got a dozen of the minis thought it'd be a good way to try all the flavors. We tried most of the flavors and I found pretty much the same problem with all of them and it was the cookie. I found the cookie wasn't very good. Didn't seem like a sugar cookie to me. The frosting though was very yummy. I'm not sure if there regular size cookies are like this or just the minis but we will have to maybe come back one more time and give a regular cookie a try and see if they are better. Plus side was the building was very clean and the staff was very nice.

Heather D.

Yelp
While visiting St. George we wanted a little something sweet to nosh on after our evening meal. I browsed Yelp for a bit because my husband wanted ice cream and I wanted a cookie - Yowzah! We found the perfect place for both of us! When entering this adorable little location, you are greeted with the smell of delicious cookies. The server behind the counter was friendly and so helpful as we had many questions about the menu. My husband had a scoop of ice cream with a cookie and I had this adorable little cookies and cream parfait. Our items were both delicious and hit the spot. Wonderful portion sizes and great pricing. So friendly, I can't say enough. In these times, to be greeted with a smile and a sense of kindness goes a long way!

Jenny B.

Yelp
Had to stop and try this place on a recent visit to St George from California. This place was highly recommended and it didn't disappoint! The sugar cookies are very soft and moist, and the frosting is really good not overly sweet. I'll definitely go back on my next visit!

Kristine W.

Yelp
We have stopped here twice now on our way through to visit family. They are the best sugar cookies. I love that they have mini cookies so you can try all the flavors. My family now is so excited when we show up with cookies to share. They are definitely a crowd favorite but they don't last long before they get eaten.

Heather R.

Yelp
I discovered this place while visiting a friend in Hurricane around 2014, but they were just starting out, and hadn't started online orders yet. Fast forward to 2020, I'm stuck at home, and reminiscing about good sugar cookies I've had in the past. Boom! This place pops into my head. Lo and behold, they now have online ordering! Hoo Ya! The cookies were as good as I remembered them: soft, malleable round pieces of perfection about the size of my outstretched hand iced to perfection. They come in a variety of flavors, so you'll never be bored. Don't wait 6 years...order now!

Annalee M.

Yelp
We got a box of 20 and they were gone before the next morning. Perfect flavors, textures, size, everything!

Lindee W.

Yelp
Out of all the cookie places I've tried The Sugar Cookie is my favorite when visiting St George. We always stop for the molasses cookies. They're soft, chewy and delicious. I only wish they had a drive through to make it more convenient with kids in tow, but that hasn't stopped me from coming.

McKenzie B.

Yelp
The best part about The Sugar Cookie was the service. We went in the evening so things were pretty picked over (understandable) and while I won't complain about the cookie -- I really think places need to step up their ice cream game. With modern, unique and delicious home-made ice cream shops popping up everywhere, it's hard to feel satisfied with basic flavors of ice cream that I could buy in the frozen aisle at the grocery store. The cookies were good but they didn't really stand out to me as the type of cookie I'd want to spend my calories on.

Stefany V.

Yelp
Cute and clean store, cosmetically nice product, niche market, good prices. Unfortunately I didn't really like my purchases: large regular peanut butter, two mini frosted in chocolate cherry and chocolate peanut butter (~$3). Large cookie had very light flavor, and I mostly enjoyed it but BF considered it bland. Also had weird hint of cinnamon to it? Frosted minis had excellent frosting but cookies themselves were almost too moist, and nearly had a guminess to them that we did not enjoy.

Emily B.

Yelp
Yummmmm! Stopped by on my way out of St. George and this was a great find! I ordered the peanut butter cookie ice cream sandwich with chocolate ice cream in the middle! The portion size was LARGE! The cookies were DELICIOUS! The cookies you guys, seriously, they are amazing.

Matthew C.

Yelp
I've lived in Saint George for 5 months now and this has become my favorite cookie spot. The cookies are light and fluffy and so is the icing they put on top. Not as dense as your traditional sugar cookie but that's why I like it. I've never been there when it's busy so the service has always been quick and easy. Its a clean little shop, nothing too flashy. They have a pretty large selection and the cookies themselves are large. The double chocolate is my favorite because it has chocolate chips in it so it's give another texture element besides the actually cookie and icing. If you have have a sweet tooth and are in Saint George as a local or just passing through you need to stop here and get yourself a cookie.

Emily R.

Yelp
Delicious cookies! The frosting is thick, but not overly sweet. Coconut, PB&J, and chocolate were our favorite. We especially loved the bite sized ones! The staff was very helpful. Fun place to stop by when in the area.

Susan B.

Yelp
Better then Swig. So many flavors, so many styles. We like that they have mini cookies. We like to get a dozen minis, so that we can get multiple flavors. My favorites are lemon and original(which is almond). They a very reasonably priced. The bad thing is... their too good to stop!

Steven M.

Yelp
If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to go! The service was quick and the food delicious. I ordered the snickerdoodle cookie with butter pecan ice cream. The cookies were well sized, had a nice crisp, and perfectly sweetened. One of the best snickerdoodle cookies I've had! The butter pecan ice cream was quite delicious as well. When it comes to good ice cream sandwiches, this place means business!

Miles B.

Yelp
We heard about them from friends. We ordered some to be shipped to us on Florida and our Daughter in Texas. It took a little longer than expected to ship. However, the wait was worth it. Each cookie was individually wrapped. We tried 4 different flavors and they were all amazing. Highly recommend!! Will order from them again
