The Summit at Big Bend

My experience with my stay at the Summit was fantastic. All aspects of my stay could not have been better. Communication from staff at the Summit was timely and courteous. The dome I was assigned was clean with fresh/clean bath towels at the ready. The bed was firm yet extremely comfortable! This place offers a level of peace and serenity not commonly found at other retreats. I will not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family and will definitely be staying at the Summit again

Our stay at The Summit at Big Bend was fantastic! The tent was impeccably clean, and the bathrooms were well-maintained, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Communication with the staff via text was seamless and impressively fast—they were always responsive and helpful. I like how you can park your car next to your tent. I love the idea of self check-in. We also appreciated that firewood was always available, making it easy to enjoy a cozy campfire each evening. The team went above and beyond to accommodate us, even helping us switch to a different tent upon request without any hassle. Overall, The Summit at Big Bend provided a wonderful and stress-free experience, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and comfortable glamping getaway!

This place is absolutely amazing—can’t recommend it enough. We spent the first two nights in the Star pods, which are clean, cozy, and perfect for viewing some of the best night skies in the US. We spend the third night in Crystal Cave, which is one of the most unique places that we’ve ever stayed. It’s pacious, luxurious, and has full amenities. The thing I really loved about it though, was the outdoor firepit and hammock with incredible views of the surrounding area. Access to Big Bend National Park was a major plus as well, and we spent each day exploring the park. This is a one of a kind stay and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to escape and relax.

We had an absolutely wonderful time during our weekend trip to The Summit. The domes were incredibly comfortable and spacious, offering the perfect blend of coziness and luxury. The amenities exceeded our expectations and truly elevated the experience. The bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort of our stay. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and it all came together to create an amazing getaway. We couldn’t have asked for a better glamping experience! If you’re celebrating a special occasion, reach out to them about their packages. We had balloons and a really nice cake to celebrate our birthdays. We can’t wait to be back!

The Summit is a wonderful place! It was peaceful and the views of the sky and surrounding area were magnificent. The bed we had was more comfortable than any hotel bed we've had recently (and quite possibly more comfortable than our bed at home). We arrived to a stash of firewood by the fire pit and more near the restrooms if we needed it. The domes were very clean and had everything you needed, including a coffee maker and coffee. The view of the sky is excellent through the top of the dome (not all domes have an opening at the top). The restrooms and shower areas were very clean as well. Again, they were far nicer than many hotels we have stayed in, even if we did have to walk from the dome to get there. The outdoor kitchen is in great shape. The guests shared it quite nicely. Let's address the elephant in the room for some of you --- it is dusty. It's in the middle of a desert. Complaining about the dust is somewhat like complaining about water in a boat. Know before you get there that you will have it all over everything. Even the top of the domes have dust. It is the nature of the place and did not detract from our enjoyment in the least. The access road from the highway is long (almost 2 miles, I included a picture taken from not far off of the highway). It is a dirt and gravel road. It is bumpy in spots. It is also the price you pay for the seclusion and quiet. We made it quite easily in a sedan, we just had to be careful and go slower in some spots than others. If you're going to Big Bend, and want a nice, quiet place with great views of the night sky, you've found it.

We had a fantastic time at Summit! Perfectly located between Big Bend State park and National Park. Super clean inside the dome. Clean bathrooms and shower space. Gorgeous surroundings. Dark sky full of stars. Bring your own cooking pans, utensils, beverages, food. The stores in town are pretty expensive. I can't wait to go back!!

Had SUCH an amazing visit to Big Bend and stay at The Summit. The most breathtaking place; so well kept, amazing facilities. The smaller touches such as coming back to camp to find the fire pit cleaned out were so appreciated. The whole experience felt other worldly in the very best way.

We loved the location of this stay! It was very fun to stay in the stargazing dome. The Summit provided us the tools to start a fire as well. The bathrooms were clean and the location was secluded and quiet.
