"A favorite with the early morning surf crew that frequent the North Shore, Sunrise Shack has the basics—injected with the latest in wellness—down. Bulletproof coffee is upgraded with grass-fed butter and fragrant Madagascan vanilla. Refreshing acai bowls (some with blue algae whipped in) are topped with a shocking-pink dragon fruit syrup, toasted coconut flakes for crunch, and sweet bee pollen. The Shack’s three founding brothers grew up on these beaches and know exactly what their fellow Hawaiians want first thing: great coffee, fresh fruit, and cheery local banter. "

My go to for the best açaí bowls and coffee in the morning. Everything is fleshly made and super fresh, I also love how they present the bowls (especially the papaya bowl - wow!) out of all Oahu locations probably my favorite ❤️

Google
Located right across from the beach, Sunrise Shack offers a vibrant, tropical atmosphere. The service was friendly and welcoming. Lots of healthy options. I tried the açaí bowl, which was very refreshing but a little too sweet for my liking. The bullet coffee was absolutely delicious, rich and energizing.

Google
Favorite spot to stop at for a quick healthy refuel while exploring the island. The smoothies and especially the papaya bowl is heaven. Staff is friendly. Street parking only. Cute benches to eat or drink.

The spot is beautiful! The servers were very friendly, and the vibes were great in general! Not busy at the time we went, so we got our bowl quickly and were able to sit, eat and enjoy the views!

Google
Love the atmosphere. Coffee was good, but they only had hot available and I wanted iced but it was tasty. Food was yummy!

Google
10/10 for vibes!! This is the best Sunrise Shack. It’s so beautiful and the bowls are to die for. Went multiple times while visiting. The bowls are the best and totally customizable. The girls were so sweet and nice! Definitely would visit again!

Google
Bullet coffee has coconut oil & mct oil in it and they use triple filtered water (I think that’s what it was) which is different but tastes clean & smooth. Açaí bowl was pretty good. Tasted earthy and organic. I’m not a super organic gal and I have a major sweet tooth but the coconut flakes made it a little too sweet for me. Also we came in the morning right when they opened and customer service seemed to be on a 3. I didn’t mind too much but I expected a “rise and shine” greeting lol. Oh, and don’t come here expecting Jamba Juice (I’m actually a fan lol) concoctions lol.

Google
The bullet coffee was well balanced, and the papaya bowl was delicious. However, we were a bit disappointed that the papaya bowl didn’t come with goji berries, blueberries etc as we were expecting, and instead had banana, granola, coconut flakes and peanut butter. That said, the quality was still great and the flavors were on point. What really dampened the experience was the customer service. We were hoping for more of an Aloha spirit, but unfortunately, the girl who took our order was rude, angry, and dismissive. When we asked if it was possible to add spirulina (I had seen it in a review photo paired with a papaya bowl it was like a papaya dream bowl combo), she scoffed and said no, explaining that spirulina isn't a powder ( not sure how that’s relevant). It felt like we were being scolded for making a simple request that we would gladly pay extra for. If it’s not possible, that’s ok, but no need for the attitude. I tried to stay positive, assuming she might just be having a bad day, but when we thanked her, she completely ignored us. Luckily, the location itself was beautiful, with a hen and chicks, as well as bees and butterflies buzzing around all over the place, which helped improve the vibe. The food and coffee did give us a nice boost of energy for a fun surf session. On a positive note, another employee came on shift just before we left and was much friendlier, responding when we said thank you once more and goodbye. Overall, the food and setting were great, but the lack of friendly service was a letdown.

Yelp
Delicious bowls and coffee!! Love how fresh everything was especially all the fruit!!

Yelp
These açai bowls are amazing. Love the consistency of the bases, and the toppings are always very fresh. Gets a little busy though, so sometimes you might have to wait a little bit.

Yelp
I hate to write a negative review for a place called The Sunrise Shack cause talk about a good vibe restaurant name. I can only speak to the two bullet coffees my husband brought back after his morning surf, but wow...they were bad. Thick, grainy sediment on the bottom of a drink that tasted like a Mac nut/coconut flavored water - not a single bit of coffee flavor let alone caffeine punch to be found. To top it off, it was $16.65...for TWO coffees that didn't even taste like coffee! So disappointing and especially painful given how expensive it was. I hope their açaí is better...

Yelp
Got the blue dream bowl & papaya bowl. The açaí bowl immediately melted as soon as I got it. It was complete liquid and dripping everywhere as soon as she handed it over to me. I had to ask for a cover to go under the bowl. The papaya bowl was unique and fun to try. But again, very small and expensive for what it was. It is a cute location but I will be getting my açaí bowl elsewhere. EDIT** After comparing my papaya bowl with other pictures posted on Yelp, it is clear my papaya bowl was missing many toppings. No wonder I felt mine was lacking and not worth the price. As you can see, there was just some granola and slices of banana, while other photos are topped with much more fruits. It's unfortunate that they do not produce a consistent standard to their food. If they lacked toppings that day, the cashier should have communicated that to me. I also wanted to add the two girls at the counter were impolite and unwelcoming. I was going to leave this part out but after reading numerous complaints about the cashiers, I realized it was not in my head and they were indeed rude.

Yelp
Made it to the sunrise shack! Had to see the place, I feel like it's so iconic. The shack is so cute and the greenery in the back is so pretty. I couldn't decide between açaí and the tropical bowl but he was kind enough to mix them both so that's what I got! I also added peanut butter which was $2 and they definitely put my moneys worth. The peanut butter tasted very grainy and not very smooth, but felt healthy. Their type of granola is personally not my favorite - it felt like the granola were stuck together and didn't have that crunch that I typically like. I probably wouldn't come back for an acai bowl, maybe just a smoothie. And it's a little pricey!

Yelp
Sunrise Shack, Oahu Hawaii Vacation Post!! Heading to Hawaii soon?? This post is for you! If you're headed to the island of Oahu you must check out @sunriseshack on the North Shore!! It is the cutest shack, serving beautiful and delicious smoothies and smoothies bowls!! As you can tell from the photos, the smoothie bowls have a beautiful presentation and they taste just as great too! The fruit is so fresh, it comes from the island! They also serve bullet coffee, which "has healthier fats that promote long lasting energy and mental clarity!" They have many unique flavors and you should definitely try one while you're here! What we love: Acai Bowl Blue Dream Bowl Monkey Smoothie Loaded Avocado Toast Coconut Bullet Coffee Mac Nu Bullet Coffee Almond Coconut Bullet Coffee They do have a few other locations along the island, but we recommend the Sunset Beach location in Haleiwa, as it is their original location!! (pictured here) Have you been here?! #oahuhawaii #oahufood #sunriseshacknorthshore #thesunriseshackhawaii #acaibowl #honolulufoodies #honolulufoodie #smoothiebowl #haleiwahawaii #sunriseshackalamoana #eeeeeats #foodandwine #foodies #tryitordiet #devourpower #eatfamous #brunch #lunch #dinner #dailyfoodfeed #eattheworld #cheatdayeats #cheatday #cheatmeal #delicious #foodieztm #foodiesinternationalchat #eatwithfoodiez#foodieexplorertribe #foodandbeverageonly

Yelp
Super cool atmosphere and quick service. Love the location and perfect for açaí bowls

Yelp
I couldn't leave Hawaii without having an açaí bowl! I've heard about the sunrise shack and how it used only organic, high quality, gluten free ingredients. I ordered a small açaí bowl and it was perfect. They have a few other spots, this one was right across from the beach. There's seating there and you can get other smoothies, drinks etc as well. Such a nice zen spot, I sat and enjoyed my bowl and soaked it all in. The workers are so lovely and happy to serve with a smile!

Yelp
After hearing great things about the Sunrise Shack, we found ourselves wandering to it early one morning. We loved the bowls and ended up coming back a handful of times and trying almost every combination they sold! Compared to the other close-by options in the area, Sunrise Shack was the best. The downside is that the bowls are super expensive, costing $18 for a medium bowl. Regardless, we received our bowls without too much of a wait and enjoyed the views around the property. My favorite bowl ended up being their Blue Dream bowl. It was the perfect combo of tropical with a subtle coconut flavor. Be careful when parking and crossing the street, as there can be a lot of traffic. Nonetheless, I recommend swinging by and checking them out!

Yelp
Was looking forward to finally making it here after 9 months on this island, it was okay...my smoothie needed about 10 more seconds more in order to blend the banana that filled the bottom of my cup. The personality of the employee could use improvement...as I have found a lot on this island. I know working sucks and there are other things you might rather be doing...but Geezus, at least you are working in Hawaii, in an open aired shack, right across from the ocean...does it get any better?? Being the face of a company seems to not matter here. Would I return? Probably not...these places are all over, personality would have brought me back.

Yelp
Cute cafe off the beach, 1 min walk to the beach. Amazing for breakfast. Quick and nice service.
google avatar

Izzie L.

Yelp
Amazing service and beautiful bowls! I ordered the tropical bowl and it's beautiful and delicious!! :)
google avatar

Dominique C.

Yelp
Perfect spot for healthy breakfast, we got the medium-sized Ube fruit and granola bowl, a perfect portion for sharing, super good! I got the Bullet coffee for the first time, it was so good I got the turmeric flavor so good! I just loved everything, I also recommend the smoked salmon toast. Mahalo

Yelp
Yummy! Very refreshing and the beach right across is gorgeous. There were a few wild animals right near the shack which was cute, too.
google avatar

Alexa S.

Yelp
Stopped here for a surf break and got the açaí smoothie. Fast service and near a bunch of other food trucks. Love this place (and the cat at the register)
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
Came here for the bowls during toasty weather. Did not disappoint, these are refreshing ono bowls! Nice little spot as well, right by sunset beach 5/5 recommend
google avatar

Yelp
Great bulletproof coffee and service but limited menu - other location has more items
google avatar

Yelp
Must stop on North Shore. Friendly staff, delishh smoothie bowls and coffees, aesthetic for the gram.
google avatar

Connor M.

Yelp
Sunrise Shack is the ultimate spot for laid-back vibes, right across from the beach. Their tropical bowl is fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and the perfect beachside breakfast or lunch. The coffee is equally good, we had the mac nut bullet. Whether you're fueling up after a surf or just soaking in the beach energy, this place nails the North Shore vibe.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
The Sunrise Shack in the North Shore is on Kamehameha Highway across the street from Sunset Beach. It's a really convenient location if you're spending the day at the beach and looking for places to eat. I got an açai bowl which comes in 3 sizes- small, medium or large. The toppings included banana, granola with pitaya sauce. Service was mediocre and became five stars when the tipping screen popped up. Go figure.
google avatar

camryn h.

Yelp
I come to the sunrise shack every time I visit Oahu & it's always a highlight !! The workers are always happy and helpful, and the views are stunning! I've ordered the bullet coffee & smoothie, as well as the tropical bowl-all delicious!
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
The Sunrise Shack has everything a quintessential beach day needs, a bright yellow shack, IG ready backdrops, outdoor benches right next to a plumeria farm and the clear blue water, and açaí bowls topped with fruit and granola where you can see the layers Luckily the line wasn't long early in the morning and they were really friendly and fast at making the bowls. The blue bowl looked nice but unfortunately the blue spirulina was just for color, and the coconut milk base was really strong so that and the almond milk took away from the bright fresh fruit so I think the balance could've been better and didn't match the hype for how much you pay for
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Lots of delicious options! Prompt service, our smoothies came out relatively quick. They were DELICIOUS! Super cute, super chill location. Highly recommend checking them out!
google avatar

Max D.

Yelp
Great service, chill music and great bowls. Easy place to stop at when at the north shore.
google avatar

Karol T.

Yelp
Super cute shack, amazing location walking distance from the beach, love the chickens, and friendly customer service. Great açaí, coffee, and smoothies!!!
google avatar

Priscilla L.

Yelp
very cute for photos but our açaí bowl was really runny and not that flavorful compared to others on the island. definitely understand why it's an iconic spot because of the aesthetic and location, which makes it worth checking out, but was not impressed by the actual acai bowl
google avatar

Ahycsa B.

Yelp
Had the blue dream bowl and the chocolate monkey smoothie, both were delicious:) I love that it's right in front of the beach with lots of chickens around !

Robert R.

Yelp
One of the fav spots on the island , the bullet coffees, papaya bowl and açaí bowls are great

Yelp
Yes yes yes. Amazing. So fresh and delicious. Loved the outdoor views, service was awesome. Well worth any wait you may have!

Yelp
Usually pretty great but the two girls on this shift are the worst. They're both in the truck leaving customers waiting long periods of time watched as 3 sets of customers walked away. They can literally see you from the truck so they can easily yell out "we will be with you in one moment" but nope they make you just stand there awkwardly waiting until one of them comes down. They also got my friends order wrong asked for no coconut flakes they put it on there by mistake. I thought she was allergic so I took it back let them know if they can just take it off she looked visibly annoyed that i asked. Also, the same girl, preparing orders can be seen eating fruit and wiping her face with one gloved hand. Poor food service standards.. and you can here her complaining how she doesn't want to be at work and "just wants to go home" Just an overall terrible experience. If this was my first time I probably would avoid coming back but luckily it's not and I've never had a bad experience before.
google avatar

F A.

Yelp
Took a friend visiting from the mainland and it did not disappoint! We both got the Açaí Bowl and thought it was delicious and refreshing. No complaints about the food or service. I would say the only thing to be mindful about is the chickens and the fact that there's no seating.
google avatar

Ilona M.

Yelp
One word: AMAZING. Found this little gem of a spot while randomly driving by and I had to stop. It looked so inviting and I just couldn't help myself. I'm so glad I did, because it was so good! It's a must try!
google avatar

Cheryl A.

Yelp
How super cute is this Sunrise Shack! A must stop when you're in the area! Açaí bowl is what we ordered :) fantastic and super yummy!!!
google avatar

Candace L.

Yelp
I really wanted to try Sunrise Shack. I don't consume many acai bowls nowadays as I like my sugar in other forms and I don't consider these a health food so I stay away from them. I did want to try one from Sunrise Shack since we were in the area and they are so well known. We shared a small bowl as we were going to be eating our way around town and didn't want to have too much of any one thing. I thought it was just ok. I wouldn't necessarily need another one on another trip. Cute spot! Maybe I'd try a smoothie of sort next time versus a bowl. The avocado toast did look really yummy too. Service was very friendly and our bowl was ready quickly.
google avatar

Darcy M.

Yelp
Loved every aspect of this bowl. Although on the simpler side, each part was delicious on its own making up for the lack of diversity in toppings. Definitely recommend the tropical bowl.
google avatar

Megann D.

Yelp
The acai bowls were medicore, I thought this place was overhyped. I tried the blue dream and acai bowl & the Sunrise Shack is also a bit more expensive than other acai bowl restaurants.
google avatar

Jade C.

Yelp
Delicious Bullet Coffee and Tropical Açaí Bowl! Get the Coconut Bullet Coffee - it's so good! This location is beautiful with plenty of outdoor seating and parking. Sharks cove is across the street for the best snorkeling on the island! and food land is next door for the best poke! The highlight is there's an adorable stray cat named Sunny that loves to hang out here.
google avatar

Maisie W.

Yelp
We got Acai and papaya bowls. Black coffee, cold brew and coconut coffee. You might have to wait awhile if they get busy since there's only 2 people working. There's a small open space you can wait/ eat outside. Parents really enjoyed their coconut coffee. They said papaya wasn't as sweet but they still like it.

Letty L.

Yelp
Great service. Ambiance was peaceful and great to sit and enjoy food. Service is quick Came here several times during our stay in the area and always had coffee and several bowls. The food was tasty and fresh. Highly recommend. I joined their rewards and received several add-ons and discounts.

Angie A.

Yelp
We were there for the first time back on September, 20,2024 , the acaí were great, well made, and fresh. For those who are complaining about the cost, keep in mind you're on an island where everything has to be shipped through ocean or air. It's not like it's connected by land to the mainland. Here in California, (or anywhere else) things are expensive too, but for those of you who live near an Erewhon market, you don't hesitate to pay $20 for a Hailey Bieber smoothie ‍ BTW, the staff was nice and helpful.
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Cute shack with organic delicious smoothies and açaí bowls. Nice outdoor seating in the shade to eat and relax with your friends and family. We already ate lunch beforehand and wanted to sip on a smoothie instead. I got an açaí smoothie and monkey smoothie, it was not bad, wasn't sweet at all and you can tell it's organic. Would come back again.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here, especially after hearing about the Papaya Bowl from my brother who had gone to the other locations. The Shack itself was just like the pictures and very pretty. However, I was very disappointed and upset at the food. When we first asked the size of the papaya, just for curiosity sake of getting only one or two, the cashier was rude and dismissive stating it's just a papaya. When said papaya came out, it was also missing many toppings. It had neither coconut flakes or honey, and the papaya was not ripe whatsoever. It was very hard, and the inside was not the signature orange color, but rather yellow. Because of this, it was inedible. It was a waste of 10$.
google avatar

Hungry Fat Girl ..

Yelp
Service was sooo friendly and the bowls were good. Loved the vibes of the shack. The shack we went to didn't offer as many fruits as the other one (cashier said). So i think it would be nice if they both had the same stuff available. Overall it was just so so good. Loved the variety of flavors too. Cant wait to come back! The parking was difficult and across from the beach . No parking anywhere.
google avatar

Cheri L.

Yelp
A cute little shack where you can enjoy your food with a beautiful view! They have yummy options for bowls, toasts, smoothies, and coffees. You can find them along the North side of Oahu (not the Waikiki location which is an actual cafe). I recommend going if you're visiting all the food trucks and locations on that side anyway. Their outdoor seating is nice and vibrant, and you can watch the birds and chickens walking around! Not much parking as it is along a road; the bus does stop nearby if you need another option. Order : *Blue Dream Bowl- (base) blue spirulina, banana, mango, coconut cream, almond milk, honey, salt; (toppings) granola, blueberries, strawberries, coconut flakes

Anagh S.

Yelp
Fantastic açaí bowls, great service, very speedy. They had a very cute cat lazing in the sun on the counter. I wish I was that cat for all of time :)

Jonathan G.

Yelp
Dans the man. Bowls and coffee are unreal! For a true north shore experience you can't leave without grabbing something here.
google avatar

Lauri R.

Yelp
The loaded avocado toast is heavenly! The Sunrise Shack always has fast and friendly service. It's one of my favorite spots on Waikiki.
google avatar

Yelp
Like it's name, The Sunrise Shack is a literal hidden shack that will truly brighten your day! Located right off of Kamehameha Highway and before Sunset Beach you'll find this cute hidden gem. They don't have a designated parking area, so finding parking on the side of the road or by the beach is necessary. They specialize in smoothie bowls, smoothies, and offer various foods and snacks. Their menu is easy to read and they give the option to add on various toppings. As a smoothie bowl lover, their Jungle Matcha Bowl caught my eye. Never had I seen matcha offered in a smoothie bowl so I was all in! The bowl was a blend of matcha powder, bananas, kale, spirulina, almond milk and almond butter. It tasted good but I couldn't taste much matcha--which is the reason I ordered it. I felt that the almond butter and almond milk overpowered the bowl, but it did add a nice creaminess to it. The toppings that came with the bowl were refreshing but I wish there was more or that I added more on it. For a small size, the bowl was extremely filling, delicious, and fresh. My friend got the Monkey Smoothie, which tasted like straight peanut butter to me. It was tasty, creamy, thick and the cacao nibs were a nice touch. Ordering is simple, you order at the shack, pick up your items on the side, and enjoy your food in their beautiful open area. It's a popular spot, so be prepared to wait to order and for your items to come out since everything's made to order. The area offers plenty of tables and chairs to sit at, eat, and take in the sunshine and scenery. They have locations throughout the island so I'd be interested in trying their Tropical Bowl next! Although we didn't come at sunrise this place truly brightened our day!

Yelp
Coffee is trash don't get it. Also, called see if they would make things right and they said they'd charge me for a new one. Price is too high for junk coffee.
