"This famed whitewashed bungalow has gone through many incarnations over the years, but the unobstructed views of Zuma Beach and good OG-Malibu vibes have stayed consistent. As the name suggests, the sunsets here are epic, so it makes sense that weeknight happy hour stretches till 9pm. Food-wise we suggest sticking to the bar menu in the lounge (ceviche, fish tacos, ribs, and three types of fries) rather than committing to a sit-down in the main dining room. Keep in mind that parking can be a pain on weekends. "

"For dinner, I hit up a great place, the Sunset Restaurant in Malibu. This is an amazing place. Such a vibe and ambiance, with your feet in the sand and the waves crashing. This restaurant has an order of fish tacos that are unlike any others. Normally with fish tacos, two come on the plate, and you’re like, “Okay I’m going to be hungry in 12 minutes.” But these? It feels like the whole fish is in the tacos. You might need two hands for these tacos."

We had an amazing, memorable meal at The Sunset Restaurant. Things I'll always remember: the hospitality of management, the carrot cake dessert, the fish sandwich, and the incredible views and vibe. I'm hesitant to write this review because I don't want to let the secret out! This is a hidden LA gem.

This place is honestly spectacular!!! We had a big party for a birthday dinner for my wife. 4 kids and 3 adults. They were able to find us a spot. The service was on point, food was delicious and the location is amazing. I will be coming back multiple times for celebration or a nice beach day.

I had an unforgettable dining experience at Sunset Restaurant in Malibu! The oceanfront location offers breathtaking views, especially during sunset, creating a magical ambiance. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The menu, featuring fresh seafood and locally sourced ingredients, was a delight—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the grilled octopus and the signature lobster pasta! The wine selection paired perfectly with our meal, and the outdoor patio added to the relaxed, coastal vibe. Sunset Restaurant is a must-visit gem in Malibu for anyone seeking a perfect blend of stunning scenery and exceptional cuisine.

We visited lots of top rated restaurants during our stay in Malibu but this topped them all. It was surreal. The location is absolutely amazing! The beachfront location is great for any occasion. The service and food were great!

The staff here are friendly and attentive. The happy hour menu is available at the bar and front area. If you just want to stop by for a quick and relaxing time, I definitely recommend trying the happy hour menu! It’s also a great place for dinner or a full meal. I had the fried calamari (CALAMARI FRITTI) and the lobster & crab pasta (LOBSTER & CRAB LINGUINE). The pasta came with a slightly curry-flavored sauce and was loaded with generous chunks of lobster and crab meat. And you must try the fried calamari — it was absolutely delicious! The sauce that comes with it is amazing, and although there’s a $1 charge for a refill, it’s totally worth it because you’ll want to dip again and again. The combo is just perfect! Lastly, I also recommend the carrot cake for dessert — it was a great way to end the meal!

Google
Love their French fries and clams! The view is amazing, the only thing I don’t like this place is the restroom is like a public restroom on the beach compared to the entire restaurant atmosphere and price.

Google
A lovely dinner with beachfront views, dog-friendly patio and delicious tropical drinks. Waitstaff were incredibly kind, professional and accommodating and the menu offered something for everyone. We enjoyed the cheese board which came with two types of cheese, fruits and spreads. The Mai Tais were well-balanced and perfect for the beach; and the wine list was full of great selections— we really enjoyed the Malbec. For Entrees we ordered the sea bass and the chicken sandwich, both of which were well-enjoyed. The sea bass was perfectly tender and the Mediterranean olive/tomato sauce on top complimented it well. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience— a perfect place for a beach day — stop in for lunch, dinner or cocktails and enjoy the sound of the waves!

Google
After a great day at Westward Beach, Sunset Beach Cafe was the perfect, convenient spot to grab a bite. The star of the show was definitely the burger. I ordered the Wagyu beef burger, and it was absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, served on a fresh bun with greens and a side of perfectly crisp fries. That alone makes it a worthwhile stop! The downside of the meal, however, was the melon mocktail. I was hoping for something refreshing and sweet, but it sadly missed the mark. It tasted overwhelmingly like cucumbers, which wasn't what I was expecting at all. I'd skip that drink next time. Overall, Sunset Beach Cafe is a great place to go since it's located right there near the beach. The food is high-quality, and the burger is a must-try. I'll stick to water or a different beverage next time, but the solid meal makes the cafe an easy recommendation.

Yelp
The Sunset is hands down one of the best places to dine in Malibu if you're looking for a mix of great food, beautiful views, and a relaxed coastal vibe. The location couldn't be more perfect--right across from the beach, with front-row seats to some of the most gorgeous sunsets you'll ever see. The food is excellent! Fresh seafood, perfectly cooked, and portions that feel generous without being over the top. The cocktails are creative and refreshing, and pair so well with the ocean view. Service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, which really made the experience stand out. Whether you're coming for a romantic dinner, a weekend brunch, or just drinks at sunset, this spot hits all the marks. It's a true Malibu gem--I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We were here about 2 months ago maybe 3 at latest , and today was a totally disappointing experience . Reservation for 1:15 not needed , place was empty but we got our open table points so that part was good . For perspective we've been coming here religiously for 14 + years . Further context we arrived about 12:45 and left at 2:30. Most of the items on the menu we used to love are gone . Told it's seasonal now. They still have a brunch menu but only gave it to my husband so i never got to see it , i would have loved the lemon ricotta pancakes if they were still on the menu but since they didn't give us both the menu i had no idea they still had brunch . he put the menu aside and i thought maybe it was the wine menu because my husband doesn't drink so i never got to see that. You should give everyone at the table a menu, not one person especially when there's no one else in the restaurant ! Not like there was a shortage of menus! We Seated ourselves because as I said noone was there but us . One couple with a small child was finishing when we arrived . waited about 10 min for just water . Then we ordered , about 10 more minutes drinks showed up. What appeared to be the manager on staff stopped by to ask if we needed anything . my husband asked for a basket of bread . 15 min later no bread no shrimp cocktail appetizer ordered . Another couple came in 20-30 min after us ordered two sandwiches , their food came out within minutes and we still did not have our bread or shrimp cocktail . Another couple walks in now there's only us and this other couple entire restaurant !! This couple orders the tuna poke appetizer and our bread and appetizer show up at same time. The couple behind us also asked for their check and that was also immediate . They were gone about the same time our entre showed up . We're sitting there looking at each other like what are we the red-headed step child? They knew i'd was my husbands birthday! Bus plates are now stacking up and we've begun to stack them ourselves on the table it's just gross to leave dirty plates and no excuse when we're literally the only other couple here ! Then the server tells my husband i have something for you, ok , another 15 min goes by and he brings out what i assume is complimentary desert which was some really GROSS fruit cake with what tasted like an overly sweet rhubarb sauce . The ice cream was good , that new desert SUCKS! i took one bite didn't eat it my husband ate about half and left the rest . This used to be our go to for a beautiful afternoon, with so many great choices on their menu and they removed 50% of the seafood they had on the menu. The Hamachi Crudo was one of the best dishes ..gone .. seafood tower both sizes .. gone . Lobster tacos now are $42 . A lot changed in the last three months . I'm ok paying more for great food and great service , Their menu has barely changed in 14 years so i would have never thought to check their menu on line before going . What made it even more disappointing is they took so much away but raised the food prices about 25-50% (depending on dish) and then the service sucked with only three guests total in the whole restaurant! Another yelper posted 7 days ago that the lobster tacos were $36 . A week later $6 increase? We didn't bother talking to the manager as it took him 15 min to bring us bread , so my husband didn't want to bother . Unless they make some changes , we'll probably start looking for another chill on the beach place to eat. Yelp is already showing them reduced to 3.8 stars . This used to be a solid 5 star place and the food was always consistently great service consistently great . Something has changed here in a big way and not so much for the better . One more thing i'd like to address, your waiter kept calling my husband "boss" . That was just disrespectful. If that was a dig, he certainly wasn't bossy . I brought this up because while reading some of the recent views I've noticed all are the same terrible service rude wait staff and management without any apologies even when there's a total of 3 couples on weekday. Service today was just 100% unacceptable . It's time to change your staff and return The Sunset to what it used to be . Recent review after review are ALL crap aren't you noticing?

Yelp
Perfect as always. The best ambiance, food, and service. I love how they don't rush you. Pro tip: if you come alone, the front cushion lounge section is a great place to post up and enjoy yourself without a reservation. Great view of the ocean! Thank you Sunset!

Yelp
Zuma really is a beautiful beach! Clean and peaceful perfect for a relaxing day! The sunset restaurant just makes your beach trip much better! It's $10 for valet parking which you will need. Very nice valet man! The layout is very unique... it's a literal beach house set up as a bar/ lounge and dining area! They offer happy hour right next to the ocean! Super chill and laid back but a bit boujee at the same time! Employees are very nice... Baja tacos are tiny but delicious! They also have crispy rice and cheese balls which are good! Calamari is definitely worth trying! The piña colada and espresso martini had me floating lol If you haven't already it's a must!

Yelp
I brought my mom here for her birthday and we had such an amazing time! We had a table Overlooking the ocean and the ambiance was magical. The servers were absolutely attentive and the food was fresh and delicious. We started with the calamari and had some cocktails. I wish I remembered the names. We later had the clam linguine and the salmon entree. Both were incredible! My mom mentioned that the clams were better than her from her favorite restaurant in Barcelona. The server and manager checked in us multiple times and at the end of the meal they brought my mom a delicious bread pudding dessert. Nice touch! We will be back soon to try the brunch!

Yelp

Yelp
This dinner was one of the best I have had in a long time. Everything was excellent, the scenery was to die for, and the service was wonderful and quick. We came on a Thursday afternoon, and I think that was the key. Seriously though, I have never tried the oysters here and they were the star of the show. So good. I really enjoyed everything we got, and I definitely will be back!

Yelp
Love their French fries and clams! The view is amazing, the only thing I don't like this place is the restroom is like a public restroom on the beach compared to the entire restaurant atmosphere and price.

Yelp
The Sunset is popularly mainly because of its gorgeous view of Zuma Beach, but it has a lot to offer as a restaurant! It may appear busy, but there is always seating even without a reservation. The Lobset Mac n Cheese is a MUSTTTT have it was absolutely delicious, i would come back just for that dish alone. It is also huge so idk why it's listed as a side. The shrimp tacos were another 10/10. Ofc they were expensive for just two tacos but hey this is Malibu people. The grilled shrimp was excellent. Unfortunately, my only food complaint is that the "Wagyu Bolognese Rigatoni" was disgusting. As you can see in the picture linked, it comes looking like an average spaghetti dish so if you are picky maybe this is for you. It was soooo boring we barely touched it. Tasted like ground beef & tomato paste. Other than that, the view was gorgeous, drinks were delicious, & I would definitely return!

Yelp
I may have moved but this spot, this way out in Malibu restaurant at the end of an ocean front drive will be a favorite until the end. I've had so many wonderful times here, great meals, fun experiences, lively bar encounters - sometimes mediocre service. The view in the open seating area is great. There is often a breeze. The upstairs is equally majestic and with height comes more shoreline. But it's a totally different vibe. Which is great! Because the outside too has a completely different aesthetic, feel, etc. I love outside too because they have those charming, French Riviera inspired umbrellas at the tables. It feels good. Thoughtful. If in the 'bu you'd be crazy to pass up a visit here. Also scope the black board in the bar for their latest cocktail specials. There is nowhere quite like Sunset restaurant.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
The food is just okay, but you really go for the view so they can get away with it. It's definitely overpriced ($19.95 for chips and guac), but if you're feeling spendy, the Brussels are delicious! The Caesar was also great and so were the fish tacos. We had a bottle of wine and my husband got the sunset colada and it was the best cocktail I've had in a minute; it tasted like a key lime pie in a glass. So yum. Overall, I would come back for drinks and the view and skip the food :) Service was great, though!
google avatar

Susie R.

Yelp
4 stars instead of 5 just for high prices ($8 for a glad of orange juice). Service was good but not great as we were left needing service several times with bunches of empty tables near us. The house made chips that comes with the guacamole are fabulous.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to have lunch and dinner. We celebrated my daughter's birthday here few days ago and had a great time. Customer service was amazing. There were ten of us and everything went so smooth. Usually for large parties the service is not that good. Location is right by the beach. There is valet parking and some street parking. You can take a nice walk by the beach before or after eating here. The appetizers we got were delicious. Guac and chips was perfect. The calamari also was a hit by everyone. We got a pitcher of sangria which tasted good. The main dishes were ok. Probably the best dish was the seafood linguini. The chicken sandwich bread was delicious but there was barely any chicken in it. The flavors were good but I wish the chicken piece was a bit bigger. Same for the fish sandwich. Huge brioche bread and barely tastes the fish. ( this sandwich will taste better in the other bread that was used for the chicken sandwich) ... sweet potato fries was awesome. Overall a great place to eat. The sunset from the outdoor patio was breathtaking. I'll come here again just for that ... so beautiful. And let's not forget the valet guy .... What a service ... wow .... Keep up the great energy .

Yelp
The sunset restaurant was fun. Please note, you'll have to pay for parking and tip if you eat here.

Yelp
I truly can't rave enough about how much u love this restaurant. The name is so fitting and a perfect place to watch a beautiful Californian sunset. The food was amazing! I highly recommend the salmon on the menu packed with flavor and the potatoes were so creamy. The service was great too, our server gave us the rundown of the menu and we picked accordingly. I will have to come back in the near future.

Yelp
I so wanted to make this a five star review, and I usually leave very positive reviews for restaurants, but I was visibly upset during my visit. There were so many incredible aspects, but one very distracting one. To begin, the valet was amazing. At the end, we wanted to walk across the street to take a look at it really cool Sandcastle and they told us to take our time and they had our car waiting for us ready to go. Very friendly, very great. The hosts were wonderful. We originally had a seat that had absolutely no view and we requested to wait for one and they moved as fast as possible and accommodated us with a smile. They were on their game 110%. Once we got to our seat, truthfully, this is where things started to fall apart. No one came to see us for over 10 minutes. The place was pretty busy, so I was pretty understanding, but this was just the beginning. Our server finally came to us, and I won't name names, But she kept checking on the table next to us and we were not a priority. I saw her twice within an hour span. Additionally, it took over 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and parts of my food was cold. Once we finished and our plates were picked up by a great bus boy, we waited another 15 minutes until our server finally arrived and brought us the check, which we didn't ask for. We wanted to order dessert... And it just felt really insensitive like she was done and trying to rush us out. After dessert, I just handed her my card without waiting for the bill because I didn't feel like waiting another 30 minutes for the check. Ambience was great and minus the complete lack of service, it was overall a nice spot. If the service improves, I'd be back, but otherwise, I won't.

Mama S.

Yelp
The food was amazing, the ambience impeccable and Justin (our server) gave the perfect recommendations! We left feeling happy and full! A fabulous way to celebrate any occasion.
google avatar

Sam K.

Yelp
I always seem to get the seafood linguini. Because it's that good! Would love to branch out and try other menu items but if you're into seafood, this is great! The calamari is cooked perfectly in this dish
google avatar

Liz H.

Yelp
dined 5/11 (Mother's Day) I understand that it's busy on Mother's Day, but when 4 other parties bigger than ours get seated and cleared after we ORDER? That's actually insane. I was with my friend and we got our drinks and appetizers out pretty quick. I enjoyed the brussel sprouts and arancini (vegetarian). They came out warm and delicious. What wasn't great was waiting 1+ for our main entree. Within this time, I am witnessing our server sit, wait, and clear other tables. When our food comes out, part of it is cold. The staff was not very sympathetic and it took multiple times asking to speak to a manager. After talking to him a couple of times, he removed the two entrees from our check. The ambiance is nice, its a little loud inside but the view of the ocean is beautiful - that's its' saving grace. I'd love to give this place another try but for the price point, I really don't want to risk another bad experience.
google avatar

Nancy M.

Yelp
It was as good as always but better Lol because this time this past weekend Saturday there was no wait and table were available like no other. The calm before the storm because I'm sure Sunday would be bananas. Ambiance was very soothing and calm I think I can add this to one of my favorite brash side places. We got the ceaser salad fries , fish sandwich and burger with fries. Parking is very crazy not this past Saturday , it was great no long lines and easy. Until next time guys , see you later.

Yelp
Always the coziest cocktail hour in Malibu...perfect margarita, yummy appetizers, and I even got some knitting in watching the game. And the sunset view from the bar cannot be beat!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here after hiking for water but stumbled onto happy hour! This is a cute beachy themed restaurant that has a special happy hour area over their restaurant area. I loved sitting by the window looking at the ocean. The waiters were friendly and attentive and the drinks came out fast & delicious. I ordered a Paloma and it was very yummy. Also had tons of water which was great.
google avatar

Suzie K.

Yelp
The service was lovely. Beautiful location and scenery. It was a little cold with the windows open in the evening. (Take a jacket) Food was great. I was expecting a little more flavor, but the experience of dining balanced it all out. Consider that the price is more for the location. You can go for a nice walk after dinner.

Yelp
Got here right before sunset. I mean that's the point, right? It didn't disappoint. Neither did the drive in diners and dives suggestion of lobster tacos and the burger--split three ways. I'm so stuffed. I need to pay the bill--but where that server at? The atmosphere is a 10 the food is a 10 the hostess was a 10 and he service is a 10 - 5. Forgot the guacamole on the plate--and they charged a $5 up charge for sharing....which 3 cocktails and 2 mains and an appetizer for 3.....kinda shitty. Still nowhere to be found and the longer I wait for the check the more I'm going to write. So here comes War and Peace. The light fixtures are nice the ceiling is nice. The floor a little industrial. Oops our party is getting up so up I go. Had some time so I ran a couple or laps in the parking lot and soon enough my friends came out and they told me the server took the 5$ share charge off the bill. But we were warned. Well let me warn you. Go hungry. Portions big. It's an amazing place. Def go.

Ernesto M.

Yelp
Got there 20 minutes earlier and they seated me right away, the staff was very kind and attentive to us. Food came out in a good time frame and the dessert was delicious. Lovely views and great people, valet workers are also very friendly.

Yelp
DO NOT GO! Made a reservation and drove 55 minutes to have dinner and see a sunset. Upon arrival the host pointed over to our table and said they are cleaning it now. As we waited we watched as the manager Ron came over said I need that table for some of the owners friends. The host said people have a reservation and are standing there waiting for it. He said I don't care these are the owners friends and they don't want to eat upstairs because no one is up there. We watched as they gave away our table. The host was very nice and apologized but the only other options were tables where could not see the sunset, the main reason we made a reservation in advance and drove 55 minutes. I know a lot of business owners and I don't think they would want their manager to screw over paying customers because their friends stopped by. Still can't believe he saw us standing there, knew we reserved the table and said I don't care. Walked across the street to watch the sunset and went to a restaurant that cares about their customers.

Yelp
This was a great find driving from Oxnard back to Orange County! The food was amazing - the pumpkin tortellini was perfection. I have to say your valet driver - greeter - was maybe the best part! Can't beat the view and we look forward to stopping by next time we're in the area!

Although today was busy i loved how things were handled. Very professional, Great service made me feel so welcome and the food is delicious. Thank you!

Yelp
My lovely wife and I are HUGE fans of The Sunset Restaurant in Malibu CA. We come from Oregon to visit family and while in SoCal this stop is a must. Wonderful selection of Lobster tacos, sea bass tacos or tres leches and much more. EVERYTHING on the menu is great! Our waitress Mimi is very attentive and Andre is the Best and most gracious manager EVER! Well worth the trip when dining at TSR in Malibu. Highly recommend!!!
google avatar

Yelp
The food was REALLY GOOD!! The table next to us ordered the signature Sunset Colada which looked like a dessert in itself!! I rarely drink anymore but I wish I could've just tried a sip of one. It looked delicious. My fish tacos were tasty and I loved the grilled fish and that it wasn't fried. My wife's Waygu burger was also wonderful. Fries were perfect too. The only issue was service was a bit slow and we didn't get napkins so when my wife went up to the hostess table which was right by our table to ask "Are there any napkins up here" the hostess said "no" and went back to talking to a coworker. She may have told our server because he soon passed by with them but her response to us left us a bit put out. Also parking lot is valet $10 and then lots of street parking down the street along the beach if you don't want to valet.
google avatar

Yelp
Always love this place - except when we couldn't get in on a random wknd jaunt because it's too busy. Always a good idea to reserve for lunch on a wknd - even just same day. ingredients are clean and crisp aka fresh and tasty and of good quality We must've had everything on the menu - and nothing disappoints. Drinks - great sized drinks and usually pricing. our staples are the vongole, seafood pasta, calamari, crab cakes, truffle fries, tacos, octopus -- heck all are good including its special beach vibes. Oh and of course, service is excellent

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant on the roadside opposite the beach- perfect views of sunset over the water. Friendly service- helped us get a seat by the window so we could watch the sunset (necessary for a sunset lover like myself). Big spacious interior with plenty of seating and lots of windows for viewing the beach. Stunning views if you can catch the sunset with your meal. For food we shared: Clam Chowder, Hamachi sashimi, Linguini clams and fish tacos. The clam chowder was really good- full of flavor, creamy and lots of clam bits in it. The sashimi was a little bland and very thinly sliced- could have skipped on this. Linguini clams were great, nice flavor to the pasta and plenty of clams (our love of clams has no bounds) and the fish tacos were a good size- nice and saucy with a good crispy fish, the shell could have used a little toasting but overall pretty good. We were definitely pretty full after all of this. Nice relaxed environment- it wasnt too busy for a saturday so we took our time to enjoy the views as we ate our dinner- didn't feel rushed which was perfect for our evening.

John T.

Yelp
An exceptional dining experience. The setting is stunning, and the food is remarkable. As a restaurant owner with three decades in the industry, I can confidently say the cornbread pancakes are the finest I've ever tasted. The oysters were equally impressive. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Great bungalow style restaurant with great beachy decor and dreamy sunset views on a good day. Their staff is always helpful and warm. We usually make reservations just in case their tables fill up although there is a lot of availability inside and outside. The menu has a great range of classic American and more special seafood options. Their poke, halibut and seafood appetizers are worth it!! The spot puts in great effort in their plate presentation and flavor their food pretty well. On my last visit i switched it up and tried their waygu burger and truffle fries. Delicious. They have a great happy hour deal for their well crafted cocktails. Honestly 2 drinks here will have me feeling a solid buzz. Worth it!! Price here is a bit higher, but given the views, ambiance, and ingredients i think it makes sense for a good value. My girl and I are slowly becoming regulars.

Yelp
I had the best time there. My plan was to get a seat by the window but we had to much fun talking to Elaine the bartender and the other regular Monday night crew that we stayed there and closed the restaurant. Anree took exceptional care of us even though the restaurant was packed. He is quite charming! Of course the sunset was amazing. More like breathtaking. But the good stole the show. We ordered the octopus which was the best I've ever had. Very tender and flavorful. Then the calamari. But my favorite was the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce with fries. OMG! It was tender and delicious. I highly recommend it. Especially since most high end restaurants are closed on Mondays. The only negative is the traffic is horrific. You can plan on it taking 45 minutes to an hour on PCH from Santa Monica. However I think it is worth it.

Yelp
Seeking an enjoyable beach day, with delicious seafood, stunning sunset views and desserts you can't resist then the sunset restaurant is the place. Offering Yelp check in for one (FREE glass of La Terre Chardonnay or Cabinet.) which was so refreshing and just the right amount of serving. I recommend the Linguine seafood if you are a seafood lover. It's one of my ultimate favorites and hits the spot with an ended happy dance every time! Definitely explore the sunsets menu food and drinks as you will not be disappointed but leave happy and fulfilled.

Yelp
Taco trio was delicious. Beautiful ambiance! Great service...not the front desk staff just the rest of the staff members in the restaurant including management. Tuna tartar was bland & can definitely use an aioli or sauce of some sort. The octopus wasnt chewy, it was perfect.

Yelp
Amazing!! Gabriela was our server and she was very sweet and attentive. I tried the chicken sandwich this time and that was deliciousss. The bread was so crispy and the sauce in the sandwich with the lettuce tomato, ahh heart eyes. The chicken itself was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The sandwich comes with a side salad but I asked if we could sub it for fries and they happily did so. We also got the allegria salad and that was sooo flavorful! I got their espresso martini and loved it. For dessert we got the affogato and even though it's so simple, it was so good! They bring you a tiny mug of freshly made espresso and vanilla ice cream in a large cup so you can pour the espresso in as you please, I loved that. Ty again for a wonderful experience!!

Yelp
We had great time and great food until we didn't and saw the cops and ended staying 2 days in the hospital getting two broken ribs and a fractured nose. Bartenders and their staff are so polite and had great customer service. Please beware of that black manager guy. He's going to call the cops for no reason if you raise your voice or laugh too much or joking and talking to other people .... I don't remember my whole story for that night but I saw the sheriff department behind us while my Girlfriend was trying to find us a Lyft. We Lyfted from 1.5hrs away to see this place because we saw the owners video. I grew up in Europe and have visited 20 countries and this place reminded me a lot Europe . It was so disappointing for $200 lunch, came 2hrs later after hiking point Dume, then spent more than $400 for dinner. My birthday was ruined here.

Yelp
A lovely dinner with beachfront views, dog-friendly patio and delicious tropical drinks. Waitstaff were incredibly kind, professional and accommodating and the menu offered something for everyone. We enjoyed the cheese board which came with two types of cheese, fruits and spreads. The Mai Tais were well-balanced and perfect for the beach; and the wine list was full of great selections-- we really enjoyed the Malbec. For Entrees we ordered the sea bass and the chicken sandwich, both of which were well-enjoyed. The sea bass was perfectly tender and the Mediterranean olive/tomato sauce on top complimented it well. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience-- a perfect place for a beach day -- stop in for lunch, dinner or cocktails and enjoy the sound of the waves!

Yelp
Came to The Sunset Restaurant for lunch with my daughter and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Wagyu meatballs and the guacamole & chips were a great start. My daughter had the mushroom Risotto and I had the taco trio. Both were great and our server was great too. We will be back!

Yelp
Made a reservation for here on a Friday at 6 pm to celebrate a friend's promotion. It was chilly and windy outside so we were sat inside by the windows. It's actually a huge restaurant, larger than what I expected from the outside. The inside is very beach themed, with wooden features and cabana-style architecture and decor. It's a very cute restaurant that is good for both groups and a date. They do have valet parking but we were able to park on the side of the street not too far away. I have actually come to Point Dume many times and this street can be very packed when there's nice weather so plan accordingly. I decided to get the Pink Elephant drink, my boyfriend got the Mangolicious, and my friend got the Paloma Sunset. All drinks were strong but delicious. The Pink Elephant was the sweetest and personally my favorite. We weren't extremely hungry so my friends just got the clam chowder and a Caesar's salad while my boyfriend and I got the fritto misto (part of the specials) and the spicy ahi tuna tartare. The ahi tuna was delicious. I wish it came with more of the fried wonton crisps but all the ingredients were fresh and excellent. The fritto misto was delicious as well, lots of large shrimp and calamari but the thinly sliced zucchini was overcooked and tasted slightly bitter. I still ate it all. The lemon came in a cute little net to catch seeds and other lemon solids. For dessert the four of shared the pistachio tres leches and the tiramisu. Both were so good and bigger portions than expected! The tiramisu was sweeter and had 2 small crunchy wafers while the tres leches had lots of pistachio sprinkled on top. Both were soft and had great flavor. Would get either again. Overall an excellent experience and went above expectations for a restaurant with such a great location. Prices for drinks and dessert were lower than expected while food prices were reasonable. Staff was friendly and quick the entire time and the ambiance is perfect for a casual/fancier beach meal. Will definitely come again!
