The 25 Food and Drink Trends Taking Over Restaurants in 2018 | Bon Appétit

"In the past, if a restaurant had great branding, I might buy a T-shirt. These days I find myself standing outside after a meal, holding a sticker, a hat, a magnet, and a tote bag, asking myself, “Should I run back in to grab another matchbook?” I’m not sure when restaurant design got so compelling, but I do know that most of my favorite swag comes from one place:Office of Brothers, the Atlanta design agency founded by Alvin Diec and Travis Ekmark (get to know them here). Their quirky illustrations and scripted typefaces have a casual elegance as satisfying as the food served by their clients, which include Asheville’sBuxton Hall Barbecue(aBAHot 10 alum), Atlanta’sGolden Eagle, andRose Foodsof Portland, Maine.—Alex Delany, associate editorRead the full story here." - ByThe Bon Appétit Staff

Rob is the man, and The SWAG Shop is legit! I am a huge Killer Mike/RTJ fan, so this was a stop I definitely wanted to make in the ATL. When my flight got delayed I didn't think I would be able to make my appointment, but Rob was super cool. I was only a little late, but he was very accommodating. But the service and the atmosphere were beyond expectations. Rob made me look great for my entire trip, and the shop is a must see for any Jewel Runner 👉🤛

Stopped in to get cleaned up before visiting family for Thanksgiving. Howard got me right into a chair and did a cut and beard trim. Happy to support this business!

Google
They showed us all the love and gave excellent cuts and shaves. Glad we locked in 💪🥇🥋

Google
AMAZING experience! Definitely make an appointment and pick up some merch while there!

Visiting from Toronto and had to make my way here. The barbers made me feel real welcome, even though I was fan-girling hard on their boss 😊 Definitely a spot to check out, especially if you're a Killer Mike/Run the Jewels fan.

I was impressed with the shop and the environment. I asked for a drop fade and put that in my notes when I booked online. The barber cut the top of my head perfectly, beard on point! Showed me the mirror but had my chair turned sideways so I just looked at the front and the beard and was impressed as we carried a conversation. Got home and looked again and he cut the back completely off and gave me a regular fade but the top looks like the beginning of the drop fade. I tipped $25 bucks because I care about people who provide service to the community. He could have spoken up so that I could have gotten something else since he mistakenly cut off my hair. It’s my fault for trusting who I thought was a professional but wow I expected more. I had planned on coming back but can’t trust it.

Love the vibe and my barber Rob ...#forevermybarber

I won’t be going back here again. This was my first and last time. The cut was okay. The price was too much for what I got out of it. The barber was very impersonal and rushed my haircut. He didn’t put any type of spray on it after the haircut. He didn’t even put alcohol/antiseptic on all of the areas he cut. Ended up paying $36, including tip. I feel ripped off. I didn’t even get the hot towel treatment as described on their website. He also kept my back to the mirror for the entire time and didn’t follow instructions.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing. I went here several years apart and if anything it has gotten worse. I wish I could talk to Killer Mike personally, because his name shouldn't be attached to this buffoonery. I'll leave at this, go inside and look at all the barbers' shape ups...I dare you to find one of there lining's that you think is fresh. If YOU don't even have a nice shape-up, how am I supposed to trust this? I should've listened to my instincts based off that alone. Needless to say my shape up probably made my cut look worse if anything. But I digress, the place is pretty worn now with torn cushions and ring lights with inoperable lights. The pricing is fair, but the highlight is clearly the merchandise which is also fairly priced. There's no ambiance, no personalities, no sense of community and barbers who lack talent but are getting by off the shop name only. It's disheartening and predictable, I doubt Mr Render has been to this place in years because this AINT IT!

Yelp
Happened to book an appointment for a cut as I've always been a fan of Killer Mike, and his pragmatism. Had to put a card down on Square in case I canceled...$12.50 fee. Fair enough. I arrive for my 9am cut with Terry, at 8:45am, early is on time right? He walked past me on Edgewood, and he doesn't know me, but on his walk back when I'm leaning against the front door, he makes a side street turn. Darryl arrived on time and gave a cut, and he chatted with me for a bit. I told him around 9:15 that I'm waiting on Terry, in which he then said he'd text him. He did..I didn't get any feedback on how that text went. All I know is that at 9:30am, an older woman walked in, conveniently enough so did Terry. He took her straight away, while I'm the only person sitting in the entire barber shop, with a 9am appointment....Makes me wonder what the deal is? Their online booking system is good as they use Square. Terry knew that he had a 9am, and passed me twice on Edgewood. Darryl knew because I told him, and he text Terry to remind him. So why did I have to sit for over an hour, ignored, with an appointment, then find somewhere else to go? I walked out with not a soul saying a word to me. Killer Mike, what's up?

Yelp
Great experience, barber did a great job on me, son, and wife. They sanitize good after every customer and wait wasn't too long.

Yelp
It's hard to find a decent barber when you're traveling (even when you're not). Today I Hit the jackpot on my random visit to swag shop. Great vibes & good service...Barbers here take pride in their craft.

Yelp
WORST Barber Experience I've had. Just giving others this info prior to making the mistake I did. My haircut received from their barber showed a lack of technique and skill... complete with scars along the lineup and a poorly executed fade. What respectable business under delivers on performance?

Yelp
Great haircuts and service from ownership down to each barber. Ambience can vary from day to day, hour to hour. Call the shop or your barber for an appointment if you've got time constraints.

Yelp
I asked for a skin fade on the side he acted like he heard me and and said okay and when he finished with the cut I explained what I wanted and refused to give it to me and then asked me if I wanted my facial haircut off I said no thank you and then he processed to trim it and I had to shave it off And then charges me extra never coming back what a trash barbershop

Yelp
Man, I'm looking for a new barbershop and thought about going here. But honestly after seeing / reading these reviews I think I need to keep looking. Unfortunate. Much love to Killer Mike and TI but can't risk it going to this SWAG shop...1Luv

Yelp
This is the best haircut in the city. And that's not even the best part of the SWAG Shop. The cultural impact that this shop is having is no accident. The SWAG Shop is making sure to put action behind the words cultural institutions tout. From free back to school haircuts for kids to important sometimes uncomfortable conversations. This is what a shop is supposed to be. Every man woman and child is welcome. Race, creed, religion, or orientation, all can find community at the SWAG Shop. But don't take my word for it, I'm just some random Yelper. Go to the SWAG Shop and see how clutch it is.

Yelp
They really groom you for real, Much respect to all the brothers and sister involved. My girl loves the cut as well.

Yelp
Jessie was amazing! Glad I came to get my haircut. The service was quick & efficient & I got an amazing haircut. Shout out to Jessie!

Yelp
No doubt the best barbershop in Atlanta. Come here to get your beard and hair right while gaining some knowledge and connecting with your community through shop talk.

Yelp
I got two words for you, Yas and amen!. I always get a great cut from this place and the atmosphere is nice. Aside from the random people that pop in and out of the door from the streets, this will be a regular spot for me.

Yelp
I've wanted to get a haircut here since I first started coming to Atlanta and I finally did. My only regret was not coming sooner, the whole experience was great. From the ease of making the appointment, the "neighborhood professionalism", the haircut and overall ambience you can't go wrong. Natalie was my barber and delivered high quality service in a timely and friendly manner. She made sure I didn't get off the chair until I was completely happy with the cut. You instantly feel comfortable inside and the music sets a relaxed tone. Not to mention you know who/what you're supporting with your patronage which is a tremendous bonus. I'll definitely be back and I'd recommend The Swag Shop to anybody looking to get elite service with a smooth barber shop vibe. Also had to cop a "Killer Mike for Pres" T!

Yelp
I highly recommend this shop. Ask for Fresh. He is a highly engaged professional who is really good at what he does. A great experience that this organization should franchise.

Cj M.

Yelp
Do not go here to get your haircut... TI might be in the pic on yelp but he definitely didn't get his hair cut here. My first f*ck up was sitting in the only barber WITHOUT hair chair. Not only did he not know how to fade... but my line was crooked as hell. The bald/glasses wearing barber is absolutely trashball, however I Cannot speak for the others. Buddy knew he F*CKED up bad but didn't even try to help make things better. Been wearing Durags all week because of these joker. I wonder if he even has his license?

Yelp
Amazing shop! The barbers are very professional and welcoming. Not your average shop for sure! Great music, conversation, drinks! You will not regret stopping by even if you don't get a hair cut!

Yelp
Horrible barber shop if I could give it no stars I would, but since I have to I give one star. My first experience was good about a week ago. I schedule an appointment a week later on line for Saturday and waited about 40 mins to be told Mario the barber that he has some sport event to go. He stated can you come back tomorrow I agreed. I was angry then but I said one strike. I will give him another chance. I go in the next day which is today. He had one in the chair and one in front of me. He finish the one in the chair and the person in front gets in so I suppose to be next. While cutting the person hair one of his friends come in and they are talking while he cutting the person hair. After he finish I am getting ready to get in the chair. He tell me the person he has been talking to that came in after because he his friend I guess he was next. So I wasted over a hour of my time so I just walked out at that point. If you can't respect me as a customer I will not do business with you. Those was the second time in Two days. Wasted time driving there and waiting still no cut. I strongly suggest not going to this shop. If you have kids do not bring them there not a kid friendly environment. People smoke weed out side the shop and alcohol is consumed inside the shop I seen this yesterday on Saturday and the previous week.

Yelp
liked the vibe at first but the barbers are kinda hit or miss on the quality of cut and depending on the day they'll often rush thru your cut if they're busy. the hot towel service left black lint stuck all over my face and neck which is unfortunate because that's always a service I appreciated at my last barber and it made me not want it anymore. also I've waited almost an hour for a cut before that I had an appointment for but was charged a no-show fee for hitting construction traffic and being 15mins late and denied a cut today. I've gone probably 8 times by now but don't plan to go back again.
