The Swan Inn

We have just had a wonderful three nights at the Swan. It was supposed to be two but we added an extra night as we did not want to leave. Beautifully renovated, it somehow manages to combine being a village pub with an excellent restaurant and lovely hotel rooms. In the bar there is decent selection of good, well priced beer, and a selection of wine from good value to top end. They will also make an excellent cocktail - a proper martini for example. The food in the restaurant was a super tasty mixture of classic dishes that were all done exceptionally well. All a good size too - you definitely wont leave feeling hungry. With a sommelier on hand too you will also be able to choose well from a varied wine list (we had a variety at different price points and all were good). The rooms are super comfortable while being rustic - home from home, and the breakfast included is lovely. If you are somehow hungry you can feast on a huge cooked breakfast. Possibly the biggest I have had, with excellent sausages, thick bacon slices and black pudding. Service was excellent throughout our stay - it is a very well run inn, and needs to be to cater for all the guests they have on what seems a near constant basis. We will be back!

After reading so many positive reviews we decided to try lunch in the restaurant. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. Laid back but effecient and professional service. The restaurant and bar have a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the menu though not extensive is interesting. Good draught beers and wines by the bottle or glass. Food was excellent. I had a piping hot fish pie, followed by chocolate mousse which was delicious. Highly recommended.

Had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Swan Inn. The rooms are beautiful. Breakfast in the barn was amazing with a large continental selection (smoked salmon, ham, cheese, an egg boiler and Bloody Marys included)! Dinner on our first night which was fab too. We were always greeted with a smile and staff were friendly and attentive throughout. 100% recommend

This is a review of the dining experience, based on three evening meals for 3, 2 and 6. The menu gives a wide choice of dishes to meat-, fish- and veg eaters, aiming to produce something more ambitious and interesting than plain pub grub. Our groups were unanimous in praising the quality of the food, the service, and the relaxed atmosphere of the place. This is high on my list of best dining pubs in Sussex and Surrey.

This is an outstanding pub with rooms. Choose nos 11 or 12 and you will get a lovely split level room with a sitting room and a courtyard garden. Beautiful and thoughtfully furnished. The breakfast barn likewise is outstanding with the most generous continental breakfast offering of fruit, yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, delicious bread & boiled eggs. If desired there is an optional extra of cooked breakfast offerings. Lunch and dinner are available in the lovely pub. The staff are very welcoming. The only downside is that it is not easily accessible if steps are a problem.

Lovely stay at The Swan Inn. Room 1 (Dors) was perfectly appointed and larger than expected, though a very little road noise didn’t bother us, it might disturb lighter sleepers. Food and service was exceptional. Look forward to returning in the summer months to enjoy the neighbouring countryside and vineyards a little more, as well as the pizza garden!

We've eaten at The Swan Inn multiple times and recently stayed overnight. Everything - from the service, to food and drink, and the little touches in the rooms - was absolutely exceptional. From the moment you arrive it's clear how much careful thought and investment has gone into making guests feel as comfortable as possible. The Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding is also elite level. Great cozy country pub and rooms - hard to find places as good as this within striking distance of London.

The interiors are gorgeous, the food is fantastic, and the staff are wonderfully welcoming! We loved the honesty bar and delicious continental breakfast too :) Unfortunately, we stayed in Room 3, which is located right beside a busy road. The traffic noise continued throughout the night, so we barely slept. It was surprisingly loud, and we were quite shocked that this space is being used as a bedroom.

Had a nice meal sitting in the back "beer garden". Great pub fare. We had fish and chips and the handmade burger. Nice spot would recommend to anyone looking for a local spot to eat.

Lovely food, comfy old style accommodation, period property, good beer, friendly staff.
