The Swan Inn

We have wanted to come since the pub reopened based on the strength of the reviews. ||Booked through Mr and Mrs Smith but could have easily booked direct. ||Room 10, Elgar - at the end of the corridor on first floor and not above the pub. It was quiet but a little road noise early in the evening before the traffic died down which it did given the rural location. ||Lovely room, could not fault. The pantry has great cakes and the like plus a very well stocked honesty bar with some stunning wines. ||Breakfast was good and one of the best kippers I have ever had !||We slightly struggled with the dinner menu as staying two nights. On the second night, the only special was a large piece of beef, too large for a single person as the smaller size had sold out. The poussin on a bed of tomatoes was a little too full of tomatoes. Good not great I am afraid. Service was friendly but other tables had missing dishes which in one case never appeared. ||Charming pub / hotel, worth trying as in a great location and they are still feeling their way

Recently refurbished and specced up pub/restaurant and charming rooms with a lively outdoor courtyard and garden area for the summer. Charming dining space with wooden panelling and timber roof trusses creating a cosy rustic feel. Interesting and mouthwatering menu with a well balanced wine list. The whole team is friendly and engaging and provided good service. Worth a visit and an overnight stay.

Had Sunday roast here today. The website advertises cauliflower cheese and red cabbage INCLUDED. We got neither (tbh waitress said it was an extra and you have to pay extra). Very good quality food but very very small portions. We're both small eaters, but seriously that was ridiculously small portions. As always we got the usual wait for horseradish, being just long enough for our food to be stone cold. ( why oh why do ALL pubs insists on doing this?) Apart from that the knives were so blunt and the horseradish (nicely home made) but not kick whatsoever. So its a shame, just NOT good enough!

From the moment I arrived, the experience was outstanding, warm welcoming and professional. Each member of staff I interacted with went above and beyond, from reception, to the bar staff, to our waitress in the restaurant and again with the breakfast team the following morning. The food and beverages were first class, and the rooms super stylish. I would highly recommend. I also found it interesting chatting to other guest whose friends had recommended to them and again, they were thrilled. Big thank you!

Had the most wonderful stay at The Swan which has been beautifully restored with fantastic, quality and design which in keeping with the building. Service and food excellent and the team first class. Dinner was perfect as was breakfast the next morning served in the barn. Food quality was best available and a very refreshing wine list. Looks like they are finishing off a beautiful garden at the back of the Inn which will enhance the offering even further. It is so nice to see things being done so well and this business deserves to succeed! Thank you

A Brilliant Addition to Fittleworth: This was our second visit to The Swan, and it just keeps getting better. After a fantastic dinner in the restaurant last week, we returned for some early evening snacks in the bar on Thursday—and once again, it was spot on. The bar had a great energy, busy with a mix of locals and hotel guests, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The front-of-house team are excellent—attentive, friendly, and make a real effort to greet every customer personally, which really stood out. We had cheeseburgers, a delicious plate of jamón, and a selection of bar tapas that seemed to be flying out to happy customers around us. The quality was great, and it’s clear the team really care about both food and service. They’ve nailed the balance of relaxed yet refined—can’t wait to come back again soon.

Had dinner here (didn’t stay overnight). Had such a lovely meal at The Swan Inn! The food was absolutely excellent and the pub itself is gorgeous. Service was also great; everyone was so friendly. Highly recommend!

Had a great stay here just before the end of May bank hol weekend. Just a night away without the children, shame it wasn’t longer. The room we had was beautiful and actually better in real life than the pictures on the website. The decoration was very tasteful & seemed so fresh, almost like we were the first ones to stay there (we weren’t!). The bed linen and fabrics felt very luxurious. To be honest everything was very good quality. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant too. Very good quality ingredients — some classic pub grub done well and some more adventurous cooking. Would definitely go back, hopefully for longer next time!

Had a nice meal sitting in the back "beer garden". Great pub fare. We had fish and chips and the handmade burger. Nice spot would recommend to anyone looking for a local spot to eat.
