"Christine Nguyen, owner of the Sweet Boutique Bakery in Sugar Land, said she was on the verge of closing her bakery in 2020 when Chow Down followers showed up. As a last-ditch effort to bring in more customers, Nguyen tried making a large batch of baked mochi donuts — a first for the Houston area, but pandemic guidelines were strict and many people were wary of being indoors. Nguyen’s sister put out a plea on Chow Down, and that same week, there was a long line of visitors from Chow Down, Nguyen said." - Brittany Britto Garley

"Head to this Sugar Land spot for freshly baked mochi doughnuts, made at the Sweet Boutique daily. Made with rice flour and coconut milk, these doughnuts are gluten-free and boast a seriously chewy consistency that pairs perfectly with flavors like Vietnamese coffee or pistachio-rose." - Emily Bond

Google
After seeing these on Insta, I had to try them! I don't like donuts but I sure love mochi. 1/2 Dozen Mochi Donuts $20 Mochi Donut Flavors: Matcha, Blueberry, Strawberry, Nutella, Mango Cream, Pistachio Rose My intial reactions after one bite each: strawberry - frosting was too sweet but yumm, chewy texture bluberry - pretty good, mochi custard, yummy, will get this again matcha - Mmm chocolate base and very deep matcha flavor, so gooood!! must try mango cream - wow the mango cream on top is really mangomango, tastes so delicious nutella- chocolate nutella taste, nothing special, not really chewy either rose pistachio - rose taste, kinda bland, looks cute though I was lucky because today they had on the same day pickup, I ordered at 10am and was able to pick up at 11am! Located in Sugarland Town Square, a lot of parking spaces. When the weather is hot outside, 80F, on the way back home (ex 20min drive) the cream on top might melt and be sticky. I liked how these are not too thick and thin, perfect sized. Would I get this again? probably like a gift for friends :) It's super cute and if I do go again I want to try other flavors. Overall I think my drive was pretty worth it!

I used to love coming here, but now it just feels like you’re getting ripped off. From finding hair in my mochi donuts to the size inconsistency of the macrons, the quality is not the same as before.

This is a cute little cupcake store in The Market at Town Center in Sugarland. The staff is very polite and they provide an awesome selection of cupcakes, macaroons, cookies/brownies, cakes, and cakes pops (lollipop cakes). Anything and everything you could ever want or desire in a baked dessert store. I stopped by for an after dinner desert and got a six pack of the following cupcakes: 2 Red Velvet, 2 Butterbeer (I love me some Harry Potter!), 1 Vanilla Ganache and 1 Chocolate Ganache. As delicious as the cupcakes were, I found them to be a tad bit on the dry side. It might've been because I came in at the end of the day, perhaps? Who knows? However, the icing on each cupcake was spectacularly sweet and I highly recommend the Butterbeer flavor to anyone who visits this establishment.

I absolutely love all their cakes! I got my wedding cake here and have lloved their variety ever since! I get all my cakes from here! Every time we do a family party or special event we know where the cakes will be from! I especially love that they are light and fluffy and just the right amount of sweet! I took these two cakes two hours away to a town called Palacios and they always arrive perfect which is always amazing to me. Just love love love this bakery!

My wife and I chose the Sweet Boutique as the baker of our wedding cake (02/02/2020) after a disaster between us and other original baker. They were kind and patient and help us out in a bind since we were running out of time before our wedding. However, they pulled off an exquisite geod cake that we always wanted and it was clear we should have chosen them from the start. The cake layers and sheet cake were moist and held up very nicely. Their coconut cake and passion fruit filling was to die for, lemon cake and strawberry filling was the perfect amount of tart and sweet, chocolate cake and ganche was a perfect combo, and almond cake and amaretto was so much better than we could have anticipated. Everything was perfect and we cannot thank Christine, Martin, and their team enough for making it all work for us. It is simply unbelievable that she was self-taught and can't wait to see her compete in the Spring Baking show on the Food Network.

Google
The lady at the counter was very nice and patient with me and my 3 kids. She explained the different flavors and gave us ideas of what some would taste like. She even explained some of the premium cakes on display. Overall the mochi donuts were cool. The red velvet & Madi Gras cupcakes were good, and the cake pops were ok. It was worth the try.

Google
I tried the vanilla and strawberry cupcake. The icing tasted like whipped cream with crisco added. The strawberry was the same with no flavor. The cake itself was very dry and dense. Very hard to even swallow. Couldn't tell if it was old or just very dry. They looked so pretty. I couldn't believe how bad they were because the people were going in and out. Will not try that again. Still have that cold crisco flavor in my mouth. Should have went to Wal-Mart or la Madeline has really good coconut cake and tarts.

Google
I pretty much get cupcakes and cake pops once a week lol. Always fresh never dry! Red velvet and tiramisu has to be my favorites hands down. Definitely my go-to spot in Sugarland.

Yelp
Friendly, helpful! Cute little sweet spot. Prices are good. Treats are yummy and shareable. They do have a few spots to sit and enjoy, no restroom for the public though.

Yelp
We got 4 cupcakes (2 vanilla & 2 chocolate) and 2 chocolate chip cookies & 1 oatmeal raisin cookie using the Too Good Too Go app. We absolutely loved the bakery items. The cupcakes were moist and the frosting was a buttercream that wasn't too sweet. The chocolate chip cookies were small but they were legit like mom makes at home....well, my mom because she is a great baker. So very very good. The bakery itself is really cute and clean. A very nice space. The only negative was the customer service. The counter clerk was void of personality and no matter how much I tried to engage her in a conversation about the custom order cakes she remained stone faced with little to no response. I hope it wasn't the owner because there was no engagement in what was leading to a future customer for custom cakes. I'd think if you loved your business you'd be personable and eager to attract business. As I truly believe it could not have been the bakery owner, we will go back because the food was on point. If we have a similar customer service experience the second time well, there are other places to go.

Karin N.

Yelp
So cute and fun to eat! Reminds me of chewy fruit loops lol. Costs more than regular donuts ($3.50 each? I believe) but always worth the treat to me. I literally enjoyed all the flavors we ordered but particularly like the raspberry yuzu one. Cute quaint shop near first colony mall. Parking in front of the store is metered but you can park in the free garage and walk there if you don't mind the current Houston heat lol. Friendly peeps too. Will definitely visit again.

Yelp
Ordered 3 dozen cupcakes for my job as we were celebrating 1 year of acquiring a tech company. I worked with Martin (or should I say he worked with me since I made so many changes ) to get edible stickers on the cakes. I was able to send him the orders via email and he worked with me for almost 3 weeks since I had to postpone the delivery a few times due to unforeseen issues. Our team loved the cupcakes so much! I ordered various flavors they had available. The cupcakes were moist and the icing and topper had the right amount of sugar! Sweet boutique will be added to the Rolodex for cupcakes and cakes for our office. Thank you Martin and team for helping us celebrate this day!!

Yelp
Mochi donut has an interesting texture. Cupcakes were not overly sweet. Glad there is some free parking near the store

Yelp
TSB is an adorable shop located in the heart of Sugar Land's Town Square Plaza. They always have a great selection and their mochi donuts are almost too pretty to eat! Check them out on Instagram- their custom cakes are absolutely incredible! I love supporting this local business and the wonderful family behind it!

Rachel X.

Yelp
I love the Sweet Boutique and have been for years! The owner Christine is super sweet and talented, and it inspires me to see how she raises her kids so well while running this small business so successfully! TSB has a bunch of beautiful seasonal treats, and I can't get enough of their cake pops and mochi donuts! The mochi donuts are so pretty (while being gluten free what?), and the cake pops are delicious! I love ordering cookies from them for special events. Christine makes beautiful painted cookies and their cakes are amazing too, like feature worthy on that TV show Is It Cake.

Sofy S.

Yelp
The place is very cute, there sitting areas but even when its on their menu they told me they don't offer coffee so is a pick and go kind of place. The tiramisu cupcake was so good, I love the filling 5/5 Caramel Cupcake 3/5 The mochi donuts when it comes to consistency are not my favorite, there other places that do it very BUT the Ube and Lychee flavor are so good that is totally work getting them so I give them a 5/5 Ube 5/5 Lychee 5/5 Strawberry 3/5 Chocolate 1/5 Pandan 2/5 TB Chocolate 1/5

Yelp
I've put in a custom order cake for a graduation and omg the presentation was a 10/10. I've posted a picture of how it turned out and it exceeded expectations. This was my first time ever ordering a custom cake, I had no clue of how nice it would turn out or how they would even start it. They added plenty of details and more! They recommended a marble flavor cake with chocolate buttercream filling; that's what I went with. If you guys like a beautiful cake presentation, sweet boutique is the place to go to. Martin was the one I contacted for my inquiry.

Rachel E.

Yelp
I've come here several times for their mochi donuts. Favorite flavors: Vietnamese coffee, cookies and cream, pandan. The lemon is quite lemony if you like that. And the lychee was good but lychee is generally a subtle flavor. Strawberry was pretty standard. Husband enjoys the Nutella one. Their mochi donuts are more on the dense side and only last a few days at most. For best texture, I would eat within the first 24 hours.

Eldhose T.

Yelp
We were in the area shopping and wanted to visit a bakery. The selection was okay, thought there would be more options and variety. It was just a okay experience.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Good place to try for mochi donuts! We got a box of Mango Cream, Vietnamese Coffee, Pandan, Ube Coconut, Thai Tea, Raspberry Yuzu, and Matcha Chocolate. It was about $20. All the flavors are so fun to try and the donuts are totally Instagrammable! Our favorite flavors were the Pandan, Ube Coconut, and Raspberry Yuzu. I don't know if it was the batter or the freshness/day they baked, but those three flavors had a chewier texture than the other flavors. Some of the other ones didn't really taste like a mochi donut but more like a cake donut (still good).

Angelica C.

Yelp
Went here on Valentine's Day to pick some treats with my hubby and was pleasantly surprised to see all the different varieties of cupcakes, cake pops, macarons, cookies and of course MOCHI DONUTS. We brought home a half dozen donuts, a few macarons and a special chocolate heart cake pop for our daughter. They were all of course so scrumptious and delish!!! My favorite was the chocolate raspberry donut. I love how we received really great customer service here. Will be making another visit very soon.

Yelp
the mochi donut was absolutely delicious & id highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee one . their cupcake wasn't as much of a hit & the frosting ratio on it was a bit high imo. staff were prompt & friendly

Christine P.

Yelp
I haven't heard of this place until recently, when the pandemic began, when they announced that they were selling mochi donuts. One of my friends told me about this place, and at the time, I had never tried a mochi donut before, but the concept of it intrigued me, since I do like mochi in general. I liked that they did round-ups where they'll drive to different areas of Houston or suburbs to for locals in the area to pick up their pre-paid orders! It's nice because Sugar Land is a slightly far drive for me. I have to say, that is very excellent service! I also like they they offered such a wide variety of unique flavors! The flavors I tried were matcha, pistachio rose, strawberry, nutella, Vietnamese coffee, and ube! The texture of each one is made to perfection! The glaze was also made very nice and smoothly, which made it look very esthetic. If you check on their instagram page, they do all kinds of other desserts like custom cookies and cakes, which look INCREDIBLE. Literally looks like a work of art. I have yet to try any of those other desserts that they offer. My only complaint is that it is a little bit on the pricier side for a donut and it is a slightly far drive if they're not doing their round-ups. I definitely will be coming back to try other flavors!

Emily S.

Yelp
I've heard so much hype about these donuts, and they were really good! Chewy, flavorful, and beautiful. I will say though - they're small and pretty pricey (I got 6 for $18), and while I liked them, I don't think I would actively seek them out in the future. Flavors I got: Mango Cream: My favorite out of the bunch! It tasted just like a real mango, and the sweetness was perfect. For reference, it tasted exactly like a 85 degrees mango cake (but with a different texture). If you like mango, I highly recommend this flavor! Pandan: I've never had anything pandan-flavored before, so I don't have a point of comparison. It was a well-made donut, I think I just don't like pandan. Ube coconut: The Ube flavor was very strong, and I liked it! It was earthy, natural, and the sweetness was perfect. The donut and frosting itself is just Ube - the coconut is the shavings on top. Great flavor, highly commend! Vietnamese coffee: Tastes like a coffee donut, lol. Yuzu raspberry: Very subtle flavor. It's hard to describe, but it tasted like the most subtle birthday cake flavor I've ever had, with a hint of raspberry. Most of the other donuts I tried had strong flavors - if you're looking for something lighter, try this. Strawberry: Tastes like real strawberries! Solid flavor.

Ly N.

Yelp
My girlfriends and i have always loved the cupcakes from here but this review is for the mochi donuts we were luckily able to obtain during this crisis. I read a post on Facebook recently asking for support and promoting these little precious jewels. A day later we picked up a dozen and all agreed ube coconut was our favorite! Vietnamese coffee would probably be our second favorite. Go support this local business and try out their new mochi donuts!

Joanne C.

Yelp
This review is only on the mochi donuts because that is all that I've had here. But trust me, after tasting these mochi donuts I am sure I'll be reviewing other items. This is my absolute new addiction! I consumed: mango cream, ube coconut, vietnamese coffee, matcha, Nutella, and pistachio rose. That is also the order from what I liked the most to least. It's not that the Nutella wasn't good...I just got more of a chocolatey taste and vibe rather than hazelnut. My husband liked the pistachio rose. It was good but I'm such a pistachio nut that I really just wanted something full on pistachio. I do like that there was pistachio pieces on top. If you like mochi and donuts then you will be in love with this magical combination. You'll be devouring it at cookie monster speed. The combination of mochi and donut is one that you have to consume because you can't describe the amaziness in your mouth. Coming up with the 2 combinations is pure genius! You'll be thanking me later! Given the fact we are experience social distancing and "stay at home" orders; you are able to order for delivery or call/place an online order and pick up. But of course, wash your hands and keep 6 feet from another customer =)

Vanesa V.

Yelp
Ordered the mochi donuts for delivery. Made my order online and they called for payment before they made the delivery. The donuts were ok. I liked the mochi texture but the frosting was way too sweet. I split a dozen with a friend and she felt that it was too sweet as well. We actually both ended up taking off some of the frosting. Flavors I liked was the ube and Vietnamese coffee. Didn't like the dulce leche flavor.

Diana N.

Yelp
Pricey as hell mochi donuts - $3.50 each, and only a few of the flavors are worth it. Recommend: ube coconut, pandan, raspberry yuzu Pass: Blueberry- better than the others but not a favorite. (And I love blueberry cake donuts) Mango cream- tasted a bit citrusy but mango not distinct Thai tea- couldn't tell at all Vietnamese coffee- light coffee flavor but tasted like chocolate cake Cookies & cream- tasted like chocolate cake

Erin Y.

Yelp
I came here solely for the mochi donuts and they did not disappoint. I loved that the mochi donut options were comprised of a great representation of Asian flavors. I got (from top left to bottom right, across) the pandan, ube, thai tea, Vietnamese coffee, black sesame, and matcha flavors. Standouts for me were definitely the Vietnamese coffee, pandan, and black seasame. One star off since $18 for 6 felt a smidge pricey ($3.25/donut, I believe) Parking can be limited by the shop front, but there is always the parking garage nearby. I will definitely be back!

Rasha K.

Yelp
First time here and it was such a cute place to be. They have cakes, mochi donuts, cake pops, macarons and cupcakes. I ordered 3 of their mochi donuts, the mango the matcha and the yuzu raspberry. Out of all 3, the mango one is by far my favorite and after would be the raspberry. I'll be back to try their cupcakes and cake pops as I don't really like macarons.

Wendy T.

Yelp
This bakery was selling Mother's day cupcakes which was awesome because not places do. Each cupcake look very pretty and had pretty flower designs and they did as I requested (pink colors with something that says Happy Mother's Day) but taste is only ok to me. It wasn't overly sweet which was good, but then I didn't feel like it was anything special other than the pretty design. I finally also got to try the popular mochi donut and while I really thought the pandan mochi donut was really good, I wasn't too impress with the other ones (strawberry, coconut, and vietnamese coffee). Would love to get some more of the pandan ones and try other ones though.

Tracy D.

Yelp
I only come here for the cupcake because I love the way the frosting taste. It is my type of frosting, light, creamy and not too sweet. I also tried the mochi donuts (2/5) - I never had a mochi donut before but the texture is not what I expect of a mochi. The pandan flavor tasted a little artificial and wow it was overly sweet. Overall, it's a good bakery and I am only a fan of their cupcakes.

Sophie Y.

Yelp
I have plenty of mochi donuts in Japan and love the chewy textures. The ones I had didn't have icings; the donut itself is already flavored like matcha, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, yuzu, etc. Limitless options. So I ordered 6 online because it's a long drive to Sugarland. Website was easy to use. There was a sign saying no more than 3 customers inside. We waited for about 10 mins outside when we showed up at 5:30 pm on Friday. Tried 3 last night and gave away 3 this morning. My conclusion is that these donuts are smaller than expected, way sweeter than my preference. However they were chewy which is what I like. The magic of tapioca and rice flours. Try ONE if you never had them before. $3.50 each is steep. $20 for 6. There's 2 designated parking spaces for pick up outside.

Ada C.

Yelp
What a shame that I never got a chance to swing by TSB to grab a mochi donut due to the pandemic, but to my surprise yesterday, I came home from work to a wonderful box of TSB's mochi donuts that the husband bought for me. Sweet! Aesthetically decorated, the mochi donuts are absolutely adorable. The vivid icing colors sure do elicit feelings of happiness; just by looking at those eye-catching colorful rings, I got all excited already! We had six of the Asian inspired dessert flavors including Pandan, Vietnamese Coffee, Thai Tea, Black Sesame, Ube (Taro) Coconut, and Mango Cream. The first one I had was the Black Sesame, which was really really good and by far the best out of this half-dozen box. The sweetness level and the black sesame flavor were just perfect, and the chewy texture somewhat resembled that of a churro overnight! Unlike the regular yeast donuts that tend to be fluffy, mochi donuts are denser and more chewy in a delicate manner, I mean, not like an unpleasant chew but a desirable tender, airy kind of a chew. The husband and I split the bright purple colored Ube Coconut that for some reason was not as chewy as its mochi donut cousins but rather tender and stretchy. The al-dente consistency reminded me of some Filipino rice cake dessert made out of coconut milk and milled glutinous rice. I'd recommend the Ube Coconut as well, if you ask me. The Vietnamese Coffee tasted like coffee--uh Duh! but didn't taste like the "ca phe sua da" Vietnamese iced coffee that I had in mind. Oh well, its name tag didn't say "ca phe sua da" anyways LOL. The Mango Cream tasted A-OK, sweet plus a little citrusy, not impressive though. On the other hand, the Thai Tea and Pandan flavors were a bit disappointing. Both tasted sugary sweet while the former lacked its distinctive Thai tea flavor and the latter's grassy Pandan aroma just didn't click with me.

Samantha M.

Yelp
The only items I consistently like are the French macarons and while they taste great, they've gotten so much smaller and pricier over the years. For $2.25 each, I'm tempted to just go over to Whole Foods. The teeny cupcakes and barely bite sized cake pops are overpriced too and make me want to drive all the way to Sprinkles for a cupcake instead. If you stop by, I recommend the pistachio and espresso macarons but check the schedule ahead because flavors rotate on a daily basis.

Andrew N.

Yelp
Ordered a box of 6 mochi donuts on their website for pick up 2 hours later everything went through no issues that is until I got to the store for the pickup. They did not have my order ready. Lady asked if she could put it together really quick. She did not have my order had to borrow my phone with the email receipt to know what to get. Then she tells me some flavors are sold out. Did not ask me to pick new flavors just gave me 2 random ones. Really need to teach some customer service to your employees. Last time coming here. the donuts are not that great.

Victoria G.

Yelp
I ordered a custom cake from Sweet Boutique a year ago. The cake presentation wise was a 9/10 I was very pleased. The cupcakes I ordered to go with it were almost pink rather than orange to match the cake. Which was disappointing but fine. Taste... the cake and the cupcakes both were not extremely impressive, I would say a 6 or 7 out of 10. This year I needed a solution FAST because I forgot about ordering cupcakes!!! I called the night before to party and Sweet Boutique came to the rescue! $300 for 3 dozen cupcakes!!! I almost choked. But my fault for being last minute. Ordered, paid, set pick up time. So grateful! Then I opened up my email to check other details and saw my son had been identified as a close contact for covid at school. So I had to cancel the party. I emailed sweet boutique and they graciously agreed to move my order to a time when we could reschedule the party! Again I was very grateful for their customer service and communication! Then it came time to pick up these $300 cupcakes... yellow with blue sprinkles for half and blue with yellow sprinkles for the other half. Pokémon party theme... I get there excited and open the box and OH NO! What are these baby shower cupcakes?? Baby blue and Easter yellow? Not bright. Not vibrant. No pikachu yellow and Pokémon blue! Party in 2 hours. I asked the store associate what could be done she said nothing baker was gone for the day. I took my cupcakes and left. I called from the car and asked if there was a manager to speak to. She said she would pass along my information. I never received a call back. We had to scrape the frosting off and try to fix it. The kids didn't like the cupcakes. No one ate them. 2 kids painted themselves with the frosting but the flavor of the icing was disappointing it was like sugar free whipped cream. The cake was dry. Vanilla was better than the chocolate. And the presentation was ridiculously disappointing. I really wanted to LOVE this place but I'll never go back.

Moni T.

Yelp
Beautifully designed and decorated goodies here: cupcakes, cake pops, macaroons and of course lots of mochi donuts with a variety of unique flavors. I got the Thai tea mochi donut, it was kinda expensive for a donut $3.25. The donut tasted okay, but can't really taste the Thai tea though.

Nancy L.

Yelp
We've gotten these mochi donuts during their Covid pop-ups around town and went to the actual store itself in SL. We've tried a variety of flavors and would really only recommend the pandan mochi donut. The others like thai tea, sesame, viet coffee were just not as good (couldn't really taste the flavors) and the consistency of the mochi donuts were not the same so hopefully they'll work on quality control. If you leave it overnight to eat the next day, we found it turns hard. They're pretty for pics and better than some other mochi donuts we've tried- but I can only recommend the pandan mochi donut.

Tommy C.

Yelp
Alright, let's debunk this hype of Houston's versions terrible creation of mochi donuts. First off, if you all only had these versions of mochi donuts, try fat straws in Dallas, YOU'LL THANK ME LATER. So of course during the pandemic, people=Houston food bloggers have been raving about this "mochi donuts." I was looking forward to these since I've had them in Dallas and hoping they were as good. Before we get started with this review there was a customer before me and the assistant helped him out. Curiously the man asked her what pandan was, and she said it was an "Asian Vanilla." Someone please educate me on how does an asian vanilla taste like. PLEASE ok story time over time for my review: So I go in practicing social distancing of course and I was for the worker to help me out. So none of the flavors stood out to me except for pandan. I bought 2 dozens and 3 of each flavor (total comes out to be $76), you would think at least $60 of my investment would make me come back for more right? Ha... check my review out of each flavor: Ube - too much coconut not enough UBE (people don't understand, if you want to get some exotic flavors, you need to make sure it is present) Pandan - wished there was so much more pandan visible in this. Without the pandan, you're literally biting into dough. (Gross) Lychee - probably the best flavor imo. It was like eating those jelly snacks from the asian store my mom brought when I was younger. However, the one I bit into was undercooked. :( Strawberry & Blueberry - basic, if you like basic go with this. Rose pistachio - aright, if you're going to do floral, at least have the rose standout more than the pistachio. If not, just name it a pistachio "mochi donut." Mango - eh White one with sprinkles (idk what it was called but this was such a fail of a flavor. It's bland and you don't taste anything). Overall, my experience was underwhelming and I think the chef herself shouldn't be naming these mochi donuts. Mochi is supposed to be chewier and less cake texture. However, every bite I took, it was dense like a cake and close to a donut. Hell, let's call your products cake donuts instead of mochi. Wouldn't recommend, don't waste your time and money. If you all see influencers raving about these, question their tastebuds and their honesty.

Jeannie W.

Yelp
This place is very quaint very clean. Friendly staff. Great variety of flavors to choose from, but of the 4 I only got to try the blueberry and the vietnamese mochi donuts as others pilfered the other 2. The blueberry was fantastic. The donuts were soft and moist and the mochi-ness was inside the entire circumference of the donut. A bit pricey as each donut was $3.50 and half a dozen is $20, bit all in all definitely a must try.

Crystal T.

Yelp
Now this is a place that I take the time to drive to. Now please call before you go because flavors aren't at random. It use to be better when they had certain days of the week. This is my go to for a Macaron. It has that nice crack shell and smooth soft inside. They have a good amount of flavors but Caramel and Nutella/Hazelnut are my FAV. Yes I always have to call the morning of now sadly because most times I'm working and can't get to them. Tho You can order by the dozen. The bakery is clean and people are friendly. They also Have cookies cake pops, and cupcakes. Go try them and it sure to tickle your taste buds.

Crysta B.

Yelp
Tried the Mochi Donuts in every flavor. First impression was just Ehhhh. A mochi should stay a mochi and a donut should say a donut. I have had the macaroons and cake pops and they are wonderful.

Robyn R.

Yelp
Awful customer service...I bought over $100 of cupcakes, macaroons and the gluten free cake donut's for a few different clients. All of my client's said the gluten free cake donut's were like "chewing rubber", the macarons were stale and the cupcakes were not fresh. I called the "manager on duty" and he advised me to email the owner. I did email the owner. I even called the owner 4 times, but NEVER received a reply. I will NEVER buy from this bakery or recommend it to anyone! They only received 2 stars because, while the product was terrible, it had a nice presentation.

Claire L.

Yelp

Yelp
ugh i wish i could stop eating these but they're so good. something about the texture makes me feel like i'm eating something lighter, and the subtle flavors don't overpower my taste buds. pandan is a winner. i also love ube and mango. i feel like the tropical flavors generally work better with mochi. also, these are GLUTEN FREE. if you need to get gluten free, don't assume that a place who serves mochi donuts actually makes them gluten free. i saw plenty of places in the area that all make mochi donuts that have gluten in them.

Yelp
Recently the owner Christine Nguyen made a new dessert Mochi Donuts. She is also a contestant on the food network channel. This is my first time trying Mochi Donuts. I do not have anything to compare it with. But it taste AMAZINGLY delicious. I went pre order online 1/2 dozen $20 of Mochi Donuts (Vietnamese Coffee, strawberry, Ubi, Oreo, & Dulce de Leche) and pick up at the Sweet Boutique. If you buy it individually they are $3.50 each. My favorite were the a Vietnamese Coffee & Strawberry. I love the soft chewiness texture. Definitely will come back and try the other flavors. I also love their French Macarons & Cake Pops.

Yelp
Awesome place for desserts. I usually stop by here after lunch (chipotle hehe) for some cookies! They have a large variety ranging from chocolate chips to sugar. They also make cupcakes and cakepops which are also awesome and moist. High quality ingredients also make things super. Their latest mochi donuts bursted them through the roof. Love the cookies and cream one. They are soft and bouncy. Def give em a try before they all sell out! :) Protip: call ahead of time if you want the mochi donuts haha

Yelp
This is a Sugar Land staple and I've probably come in dozens of times over the years. The new craze is obviously the mochi donuts. They are $3.50 for one, $18 for 6, and I believe $32 for 12. Some flavors are really good (thai tea, mango, coffee, yuzu raspberry) but others are definitely a miss (chocolate and matcha). I think they're a fun novelty item and its worth a try. I appreciate TSB for bringing this dessert trend to Sugar Land and saving us from driving all the way out to get some mochi donuts. I do think it's important to note - the flavors all come from the icing. The base of many of the donuts are the same, the only difference is the icing. I think it would be nice to have chocolate chips or coconut shreds in the donut itself to make the donut more flavorful since the identity of the donut really rests in the icing. I went in recently and there was a hiccup with my order. Management was quick to take ownership of the mistake and fix things. I was pleased with how that situation played out and appreciated their quick response. I will say however, the last couple times I've been in, the staff has been pretty cold and almost makes me feel like I'm annoying them by coming in lol. Overall I'm glad we have this place in Sugar Land and will continue to visit.

Yelp
I swung by here to pick up some Mochi Donuts after running an errand nearby. Even though I've seen plenty of recipes online (I bake a lot myself), I couldn't pass up the chance to finally try them for myself! (Without having to put in the work!) The Lychee Lime was delicious and consistent with my texture and flavor expectations. The donuts did end up being a bit smaller than I thought they would be though.

Yelp
After trying mochi donuts at Fat Straws in dallas, I couldn't stop thinking about them lol. So when I saw on IG mochi donuts were available in Houston, I immediately made an order online. I picked up 4 donuts and headed home for a treat. The strawberry mochi was good, a little on the sweet side, but pairs well with milk :). The nutella was good too because you know nutella...the blueberry was definitely my favorite; very flavorful, great texture and not overly sweet. I need to make another run soon to try the mango one.

Yelp
Overpriced and tasteless everything. Don't waste your money here. I rather buy my cupcakes from Heb. Much better quality.

Yelp
I saw these donuts on my Instagram page and just had to check this place out. These donuts are some of the prettiest donuts in Houston. Plus, I love the chewy texture of the mochi inside of the donuts. That being said, not all flavors are rated the same for me. Summarizing my opinions of some of the donut flavors- The good: Ube, Pandan, Sesame, Cookies n Cream The not so great: Thai Tea, Rose Pistachio The ugly: Matcha Vanilla butter: Standard vanilla flavor. Great introduction to the world of mochi donuts Nutella: There is not a distinct Nutella hazelnut chocolate flavor to this donut. Just a simple chocolate flavor Thai tea: There was no trace of Thai tea, or any tea flavor in this one. It almost tasted exactly like the vanilla donut, except maybe less sweet. The only thing "Thai tea" about this donut is the orange color glaze. Pandan: I've never had pandan anything before. However, this one has a distinct flavor besides the coconut sprinkled on top that I enjoyed Rose pistachio: Another disappointing one. Luckily, unlike the Thai tea, this one had a very very very light taste of rose...but I had to focus REALLY hard to find it. Raspberry: I liked the hint of tartness and raspberry flavor the topping had. It's a very light flavor, but noticeable. Vietnamese coffee: I like the coffee flavor of this one. The coffee complimented the chocolate donut well. But the coffee scent is not strong like what I think a real Vietnamese coffee is like. Cookies n cream: Can't go wrong with cookies and cream. This one was great! Oreo crumble on top with a chocolate donut; tasty! Lemon: Like the raspberry, the hint of tartness and lemon flavor does well with the sweetness of the donut. Ube: I liked this one! It had a subtle ube flavor with a sprinkling of coconut on top. Matcha: Nope, not for me! I like matcha; I enjoy eating matcha desserts and drinking matcha. But this donut to me tasted like leaves and grass blended with sugar. Sesame: Probably my favorite. Pairing mochi and sesame together is pretty traditional in Asian desserts, so this one tasted nostalgic. Overall, I enjoyed trying out mochi donuts from this place. It was fun experiencing a new texture to donuts and interesting flavor combos. Would love to come back for their other treats soon.

Yelp
My sweet friend dropped off a box of mochi donuts for me on my birthday. Mochi donuts are a new take on donuts, it's chewy but good. I'm sure these are more healthier? The ones I got not sure their flavors but they were pretty good. They definitely last longer than regular donuts.

Yelp
I was able tro try these mochi donuts a while back, and they were quite interesting. The texture was a slightly chewy, starchy texture. It is very similar to the Vietnamese cassava cake (bánh khoai mì) in texture. My favorite flavor was the oreo and the coffee one. They come in many unique flavors and are decorated nicely, but they are on the pricier side. They are worth trying out once, but I don't know if I would crave these on the future. I also had their cake pops, and it tasted like a standard cake pop.

Yelp
Cheap cupcakes. Worst part was the icing. Very airy. Bleh. Wont be returning here.................

Yelp
Mochi donuts are the new thing right now, and I've tried several flavors aside from what is pictured. I'm not sure how to feel about the texture of the donuts, but some are fluffier than others. My favorite is the Vietnamese coffee one; sometimes it's hard to taste the flavor that it's supposed to be due to how faint it is. For example, I was expecting something more obvious for the Thai tea one. Overall, it was an interesting experience. I do prefer their cupcakes and macarons, which I've been back for over the years. I'm sad that they don't have any cupcakes at this time, but hope they come back soon!

Yelp
Finally got to try these mochi donuts. I've tasted mochi donuts before from Dallas and I was not impressed. Keep in mind these donuts have a chewy cake texture and the ones in Dallas are chewy glazed donuts. I loved the texture of these donuts way better! I also liked the flavors and for some they were rich in taste. I had the matcha, ube, pandan, vietnamese coffee, thai tea, and sesame. Matcha- had a chocolate flavor to it. It tasted different than your ordinary matcha items and I enjoyed it. Ube- Could not taste the Ube, overpowered by the coconut. Pandan- same as Ube, couldn't really taste that pandan flavor. Vietnamese Coffee- my favorite! Very rich in flavor. Thai Tea- could barely taste the thai tea flavor, tasted more like vanilla. Sesame- I personally liked the sesame flavor. It was a little strong and I can see why it might not be other's favorite. Overall, glad I got to try them. They are a little pricey, but if you have never had a mochi donut, I would recommend trying these!
