"The Lightning Bar Collective (LBC)’s vegan cocktail destination Sweet Hereafter closed at the end of February. The 13-year-old Belmont Street business was a veritable icon, and its closure signaled the loss of a watering hole and community outpost, full of outdoor seating that was especially crucial during the pandemic." - Paolo Bicchieri

"Sweet Hereafter, part of the Lightning Bar Collective along with Bye and Bye, Victoria Bar, and Thunderbird Bar, opened in 2011. It offered an entirely vegan menu featuring dishes like buffalo-marinated soy curl subs and antipasto platters. The bar was known for its welcoming environment, sprawling patio, and serving as a venue for community events like vegan meet-ups and holiday markets. It appealed to both vegans and a broader spectrum of diners, becoming a staple in Portland's food world." - Waz Wu

I'm so happy that I found this gem of a place! All the cocktails I had were delicious, especially the Aperol Sour!! I also had the Mac & Cheese which was one of the best ones I've ever had (the bacon bits were a great add!) Oh, and the fact that it's fully vegan is the reason I will be returning every time I'll be back in Portland. Highly recommended!!

Google
Where to begin! I absolutely love this place. I’m not a vegan but this place has made me fall in live with Tofu. The Eastern Bowl is hands down the best with the Max and cheese a very close second! Their drinks are yummy and you definitely get what you pay for. So many gluten free options as well. Weather you just want a quick drink or dinner and drinks this is the spot for you! Bar tenders are super kind and the atmosphere makes you feel so comfortable!

Google
I’m pretty sure every great date I’ve ever been on started here, and I can tell you why. The food is delicious and cocktails are equally so, though I usually go with wine because I’m boring. The seating is abundant and toasty, the staff is wonderful and in case you want to add some whimsy to your date? There’s a Magic Box Vending machine … highly recommend the overnight bag if things are going well…

Google
Good beer, good food, pretty good happy hour specials. Really good atmosphere, dark bar but if you walk in more there's a nice area that's a lot brighter, and then if you walk further there's an outdoor area with a fire pit. Good for groups, but also for two. The bowls are good, maybe slightly oily, but still good, and they are also good as leftovers.

Google
The food tasted great. The bartender was friendly and recommended some different food options. We had a buffalo sandwich. The whole menu is vegan. OT was served with tortilla chips and salsa. They also tastes great. I almost docked a star because one of their two bathrooms was missing soap but Nah the place is great.

Google
Delicious fully vegan food menu with some gluten free options clearly labeled. So so full of flavor across all 3 dishes. The drinks menu was also phenomenal. Would definitely visit again!

Google
A surprising great find. A vegan bar that serves breakfast. Excellent Benedict with cashew hollandaise sauce and cajun home fries. Great all the way around.

Google
Amazing food and atmosphere. We're from out of town, so it was nice eating at a fully vegan restaurant. The strawberry cake with chocolate butter cream frosting was absolutely amazing!

Yelp
My weekly spot on Sunday now thanks to trivia and the amazing crew that Sweet Hereafter has. The earl gray martini is delicious! Make sure to order it! Obsessed with the pesto Mac & Cheese. Super flavorful and creamy. The breadcrumbs give an extra crunch to the pasta. The vegan burger was also delicious. Very saucy. The patio is so super cute and warm. There's a cozy fireplace outside.

Yelp
I keep hearing of Sweet Hereafter over the years. I don't know what took me so long to check them out! Well it's not very close to where I live, for one thing. I happen to be house sitting near Laurelhurst Park, and saw that Sweet Hereafter was only half a mile away. It was a cloudy day but not raining, so decided to take a stroll over. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted warmly. I sat at the bar and perused the menu. Everything looked good, but I settled for the Tofu Banh Mi sandwich. It came with chips and salsa. The salsa was so good and fresh! I asked the brand and learned that it was made in house..has to be some of the best salsa ever! (Except for the one I make at home!) The Banh Mi sandwich was really flavorful too! I will be house sitting for another week and plan to come back soon to try something else on the menu!

Yelp
The only person who seemed to care we were there was the door security who was so kind to get the door both when we came in and when we left - my friend and I have ADA devices so we appreciated him a great deal. I was glad that I looked at the online menu while waiting for my friend to stand at the bar forever trying to place her order because I am allergic to much of their menu. Apparently they use hefeweizen to make their cheese... and I am allergic to beer! My friend later said I should have asked a bunch of questions to see if I could get alternatives etc... I have friends with genuine, severe celiac and have been poisoned numerous times in Portland thanks to being told specifically it did not contain their allergy source - it just isn't worth it from ho horrible the reaction could be. The person taking orders was completely devoid of friendliness - to the point of extreme discomfort. We had a crazy time trying to get to an event hours before due to a whole lotta traffic. At the event we also thought they would have concessions but it was pretty lacking. My friend was about to start eating the counter because she was that hungry and refused to go elsewhere. She was shouting to me (I was holding our table) as she was trying to order saying that they were out of their burger, and avocado... and other veggies. She said she ordered the grilled cheese and also the mac and cheese because she was told that their grilled cheese was very very small by the bartender. I was going to get the same until I looked up the online menu. I thought maybe I would also see something else and she had taken the printed menu from the table with her to order at the bar. That's when I noticed that the cheese they use for the grilled cheese and the mac and cheese are made with beer. Yikes! Good thing I went to the online menu since I would have totally missed that. I go up to order and requested a ginger ale. The list of items they were out of continued to drinks including that. SERIOUSLY? I tried humor because this really was funny - like, it is a THURSDAY - did I miss the apocalypse? When I said to the bartender that they seemed out of a lot he said they had been busy. Yeah, a bar busy on a Thursday, who knew... I ordered the kale Caesar. I felt assaulted with dressing and their dressing is A LOT. Then they really REALLY add a whole lot of these cheese like crumbles creating a weird gross mouth feel. I feel like maybe if you order this you should ask for them to be easy on the dressing unless you are a person that wants to drink salad dressing on a water boarding level. The croutons were ok but seriously I struggled eating a few bites of this and I had to stop. I was still extremely hungry. My friend was also upset because online and on the menu it said that they have rotating vegan sweets and such. She asked the bartender who was very dismissive to her and acted like she should know that they don't have anything available. She did not know if he meant ever or tonight... He would respond to anything I asked almost rolling his eyes the second I went up there so her description did not surprise me. She is not as upset when folks are rude. I just wanted to leave. The music and the venue itself seemed great - I was digging the playlist and the vibe from the other folks in there was mostly great. I cannot find much purpose in going back though cons

Yelp
Cute little spot on Belmont and close to Laurelhurst Park! Sweet Hereafter had been on my list for a while because I had heard they have an awesome vegan menu. I stopped in last weekend and it wasn't busy at all, so I just ordered from the bar and chose a table. Only the brunch menu was available, and while I can't remember the name of the breakfast sandwich, it was pretty good! It was $12 and came with a side of (waaay overcooked) crispy potato wedges. The bar itself is a great vibe and the employees seemed nice. The main area is spacious, and there is a spacious covered back patio too. My favorite takeaway is how dog-friendly it is! Looking forward to coming back to try the main menu.

Jay S.

Yelp
Every time I visited Portland, this was one of my favorite stops, now living here, I'm a regular. They have a fantastic food menu, great drinks, and a real friendly vibe. They're also super dog friendly, so I enjoy being my pup here as well. Personally, I would love it if they had a TV or something in the corner for big games and things like that, but I guess you can't have everything you want in one place, haha. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4.5/5

Christopher P.

Yelp
Great vegetarian spot with options to get the sandwiches in bowls to cater to the gluten-free. Nice staff, lots of seating, and a great dog-friendly back porch that is very toasty in the winter.

Kathy V.

Yelp
I'm not an expert on vegan food.... But i got the grilled cheese, and, well... see video. The cheese was not a tad melted. New chef maybe? I looked at the other photos here and it looks nothing like it. I also ordered it with onions for an additional 50 cents, and for a few sprinkles of chopped white onions. Another picture here had grilled onions on it (?!). The bartender also put our food order all on one number. When one of the food items came out, the waiter grabbed the number from our table and left before we could tell him we had more food coming. A bit rude :/ we had to go grab the number back from the bar.. also got their "creamy tomato" soup. Not creamy at all and a tad on the acidic side

Connor B.

Yelp
Going to miss this place so much! I wish I had the burger sooner, the sauce on it is delicious and not too overwhelming or salty. The pesto Mac and Cheese is soooo good too, this was my second time getting it. The bar is very cozy and the bartenders are very friendly... Will be thinking about this place long after it has closed

Lauren C.

Yelp
Vegan restaurant and bar in the Belmont neighborhood. For context, I'm not a vegan but went with some friends who are. The drinks are pretty solid. Everyone liked there's. The food is also pretty good. I got the Mac and cheese and was pleasantly surprised by the taste.

Mia G.

Yelp
As previous reviews have also mentioned, the service is beyond rude and I will not return as a result. My group and I walked in there the other night, and were standing in front for a solid 4 minutes with no one greeting us when staff clearly saw us. They bought us no extra menus, no extra side plates for our food so we had to eat on napkins, and they seemed overall annoyed with our presence. We enjoyed the tofu bahni sandwich, but the mac n' cheese was flavorless. It's a big bummer to dislike this place, but unfortunately, the terrible service ruined the experience.

Yelp
Hungry late at night? Thirsty? Vegan? Meeting spot with friends? Want to watch sports? Sweet Hereafter on Belmont checks all the boxes with both an extensive bar and extensive all vegan menu that satisfies everyone's cravings. I recently tried the Buffalo chicken sub and it was very filling. The bowls are great too. They even serve non alcoholic alcohol, although it missed the marks for me There's more seating in the back with a big screen and also a patio in the back. There's a nifty vending machine that sells local crafts. It's conveniently located on Belmont near other bars, restaurants, etc to make for an early or late night. Sweet Hereafter is a great place I return to over and over again and it's always both exciting, yet comforting.

Nyssa M.

Yelp
This place is great!!! I love the cocktail menu and love that it's also fully vegan. This is my favorite place in PDX for a bahn mi (so far) it's so fresh and spicy! my partner loves the buffalo chicken sandwich too. I've heard they have one of the best Mac n cheeses but we haven't tried yet! We've been multiple times and will continue to come back. Bartenders are super polite as well

Laura R.

Yelp
Easy going vibe, yummy vegan food, great mock-tails and drinks- a win for us! The bartender was super busy, but he also did not rush me during my order and was super kind. Will be back!

Jason V.

Yelp
Smoky, sultry lighting dimly illuminates this pub that specializes in craft cocktails and vegan vittles. A full bar and a fantastic selection of sandwiches that one would be hard pressed to guess were not "the real thing" (aka carnivorous) awaits you upon being seated, either at a booth, table, or on the patio out back. Both my wife's Buffalo Sub, and my Bahn Mi, were indistinguishable from their meaty counterparts, with the latter being crisp, fresh and tasty, the way a Bahn Mi should be! The former, other than a slightly-off textural issue due to the soy curls not quite filling the shoes of the chicken it aspired to be, was still perfectly spicy, filling, and serviceable. Drinks and dishes are both ordered from the bar before seating. I held the table and watched wife's purse and bags while she ordered, so I didn't directly interact with the bartender, but I was able to overhear their conversation, and he was extremely friendly, personable and helpful. But hey, if I was him, and a pretty little thing like my wife sauntered up to the bar, I'd probably be the same way. At least he has good taste! Outdoor seating is available both out front, on a handful of small tables, and out back, with bench seating capable of significantly more capacity, that can handle larger parties. Oh, and one thing: their daily punch specials are thebomb.com/delicious, and a really great deal for the price, as they are quite large, potent, and tasty as hell! I'd forgot about them the last time I was here; a mistake I intend to rectify next time. The Sweet Hereafter is one of the best bars on Belmont, as evidenced by the crowds of young, savvy patrons that flock to it (ourselves included, of course)! It's the kind of place you want to find yourself on a warm spring or summer night, enjoy a few drinks, and catch up with friends in a fun, social atmosphere.

Yelp
Inside is really dark, so I recommend sitting in the tables near the store front if you have any work or reading you're trying to do while dining in. You order at the bar before you take a seat. I opted for the kale ceaser salad. It's an entree sized portion of curly kale. Looks like it has a lot of dressing, but it's really lacking in flavor. Good amount of carrot and sunflower seeds to diversify the dish. Downside, the kale is not massaged, so it's almost too tough to eat. I also ordered a side of jerk tofu. Thank goodness, because I was able to put it on a small portion of the kale and it added some heat to wilt the kale and I could manage to consume a small portion of it. I do recommend the tofu, but unless you have razor teeth or want to spend the entire day gnawing on rough kale, I'd skip this salad unless you're ordering it to go and take it home to let it sit in the dressing overnight to soften.

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Its always sad when service is the reason you don't want to return to an otherwise decent establishment. I HAVE NEVER, EVER MET SOMEONE AS RUDE as the male bartender with long hair. God, he was awful, and dismissive, and just not cool or kind. He prepared my drink wrong, and when I asked for another one (after him ignoring me and avoiding eye contact for 5 minutes while I waited to talk to him on a not-busy weekday), he declined. I told him I was less than satisfied. That guy should be fired today and not working in bartending industry. And the food is less than average. I'll never ever come back.

Misan H.

Yelp
Came in for last night dinner on a Sunday. It was pretty empty which I didn't mind. Staff was very friendly and food was good! Ordered: Mac and cheese - yes!! Would eat again! Jerk tofu bowl - a bit salty however very flavorful! They have full bar and great food would def recommend!!

Sasha J.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the drinks, food, atmosphere, and staff at Sweet Hereafter! I went with two friends who cannot recommend this bar highly enough and come here often for the food. Parking can be a bit different on Belmont, but there is some residential nearby. There are other bars and cool spots nearby if you're looking to stop somewhere after dinner (but they're open until 2am for all your drink needs!). The drink size was generous and tasty. They have a great extensive menu, noting the alternatives they use in their food. The mac and cheese was crispy on top and very creamy, so thoroughly enjoyed that. The tofu bahn mi had a miso mayo that added a nice kick, both for texture and flavor. My friend got their go-to order, the buffalo chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed Sweet Hereafter and will certainly be back.

Jason C.

Yelp
I've been here lots of times, and it's always chill. Food is delicious and well-priced. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. Despite being busy, they always take the time to make folks feel welcome. They have a solid tap list and lots of drink options. The music is a bit loud at times but not too bad on the back patio. Fun place for some tasty drinks and bites!

Blake M.

Yelp
Sweet Hereafter is great. The patio is awesome. Has plenty of space, however someone farted back here and it was very bad. I think I can smell it again. We seated our selves underneath the fan for ventilation purposes. However, whenever someone farts in the room, it's sucks the smell towards the fan and we're forced to breathe it. It's worse than you can imagine. Drinks are well poured. Delicious and strong. Next time we should try the food. Don't sit under the fan for the love of god. Don't do it. You deserved better. Love yourself. Stay safe out there.

Molly L.

Yelp
We stayed in a nearby Airbnb, and my friend's coworker recommend this place with glowing reviews! For starters, they have a full bar and also offer the standard sodas, sparkling grapefruit juice, and so on. However, they also have a diverse menu of delicious food options to choose from as well. And the best part was that they are vegan! I ended up getting the Pretzel Burger and pretzel buns and dip; they were super good and filling! The burger was almost too big for me to finish, as it came with a side of chips as well. I think my favorite was the pretzel buns and dip, because I have a soft spot for soft pretzels lol. Service was great and super friendly, our server was helpful in providing suggestions for food and drink. If we came to Portland more often, we would certainly make this a regular spot, as the food and drink was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming.

Connor L.

Yelp
So I will start this review with: I am not a vegan (and I'm allergic to soy) but I cannot recommend Sweet Hereafter enough! I've been feasting here since 2015 when I visited PDX for the first time. (That's also when I found Noun but that's a different review.) Then in a serendipitous moment, my friend moved into the lofts across the street. I've tried a lot of things on the menu but my all-time favourite is their charcuterie board which has the most amazing cacophony of treats. I stopped in a couple of months ago and was so sad to see that their reduced COVID-19 menu excludes the board. Why, SH, WHY?!?!?! I did have the pesto Mac and cheese which was new and it was off the charts good. Can't remember what my friends had but the pictures tell the story of deliciousness. If you pop in for breakfast or brunch and you see the polenta and soy chorizo dish definitely order it. It is so warm and filling and comforting. It will touch every part of your soul. I was so busy talking about the food I forgot to mention the full bar and craft beer selection they always have on tap. I'm a ginormous jalapeño margarita fan and every bartender at SH made it perfectly along with the old-fashioned I love. To be honest SH just does everything well including customer service. Thank you for that, SH! #thankyouthursday

Katie M.

Yelp
Food 5/5 Service 4/5, very friendly and quick but limited interaction Experience 4/5 Very tasty! Lots of great options on the menu.

Jay U.

Yelp
I've been coming to this establishment quite often, love the food, the ambience and staff that work here especially Rose. She's always warm and engages everyone with a smile! She goes out of her to make those she encounters feel welcome. Talha kills its in the kitchen keeping the flavors of the entrees on point!

Haley H.

Yelp
Vegan bar! Place was PACKED on a Tuesday night, but I found a seat at the bar to enjoy two local beers and the veggie burger. Food took a bit as it was so busy, but bar service was quick and the crowd was really nice. They have a fire in the back courtyard but I didn't get back there.

Courtney N.

Yelp
Sweet hereafter is a place I've been coming for years. It's a really fun vibe for cocktails, wine, and delicious vegan dinner. The back patio with the fire is lovely though I wish it was a little bigger of a space to fit more of a crowd. There's plenty of space inside though! The service is counter/bar service. The vegan mac & cheese and vegan soy curl buffalo sandwich are both delicious!

Chris C.

Yelp
I'm not a vegan, but every now and again I get a hankerin' for some good vegan eats. Enter Sweet Hereafter. I've been frequenting this establishment for jeez... 6 years or more? I used to live close by, so when I wanted a night out I could easily choose Belmont or Hawthorne. Initially, I thought this a great spot to have a few drinks, hang with friends in the intimate and dark coziness, and stay warm by the fire during the winter months. It wasn't until the last few years that I became aware of the awesomeness that is their food. Ugh... the food! My absolute favorites are the bowls. Specifically, the Eastern Bowl. Broccoli, tofu, brown rice, peanut sauce, and sesame seeds? YES PLEASE. Dash on the sriracha, and this is a blissful meal. I have never been disappointed with the food here. Love it! I'm not big on cocktails, but I've tried a number of their signature drinks, and all of them were very good. They also have a good variety of beers on tap, and they seem to change often which I like. The service here has always been very good. Even when it's a busy weekend, or just busy in general, the staff know how to hang, and they kill it every time. What else can I say? I'm a fan!

Chris B.

Yelp
Probably the best vegan entrees I've had in Portland so far. If you get the Mac & Cheese, I highly highly highly suggest getting a side of ranch. Very delicious. Buffalo sub was great too.

Quenton M.

Yelp
Larger space than you'd expect and delicious easy to down drinks. Food is a bit interesting had a vegan grilled cheese with nachos. Not sure the combo clicked. Fast service and good quality. Good happy hour place.

Brian D.

Yelp
Heaven is a Place on Earth. If it was, it would be at the Hereafter, a place where one can eat elevated (vegan) pub food, and imbibe with good conscience. "Created" by the guys who gave Portland other vegan bars; Jackknife, Century, and the Bye and Bye. My favorite things are: $11 Eastern Bowl Nutritional yeast breaded tofu,(so tasty!) broccoli, and brown rice with a spicy ginger peanut sauce, topped with sesame seeds. $13 Benedict Biscuit, Homemade seitan sausage, seasonal veggies, tomato, spinach, and cashew hollandaise. I recall being so excited when they opened, I could finally order a creamy drink with a plant based milk, and not be scoffed at by the bartender. Hallelujah!!! Cocktails are well made, with a heavy pour. On my last visit I had a Bloody Mary that was perfection. Brunch is my preferred time to enjoy a meal here, It's more laid back and chill. Early evening is nice, but the late-night scene is too crowded for me. I hate having to compete for a bartender's attention, and deal with the door guy. Service has been mostly friendly and helpful. Street parking can be challenging. Portland Monthly wrote "A nice, trendy bar--whether you are a vegan or not". I couldn't agree more.

Kiera H.

Yelp
After being a Portland resident for several years, I came here last night for my very first time after hearing it was one of the best vegan spots/bars in the city and they have a decent menu of both fancy alcoholic AND non alcoholic drinks. I got the mac and cheese with pesto and it exceeded my expectations. If you have ever been to Noodles & Company and tried the pesto cavatappi, this tasted almost exactly like that except it was all vegan. It was a good portion as well so I took some of it in a to go box. I don't know why I slept on coming to this place but I'll 100% be back again, and I hope to try other items on the menu!

Adrienne C.

Yelp
This totally vegan spot is amazing You absolutely must try the Buffalo sub Ask for extra sauce The atmosphere of the bar with low lighting is comfortable.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Service and drinks were great. I used to love the buffalo sub but it tasted extremely off, almost like it was made on French toast. So sweet and gummy - not sure what they changed. I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

Geo G.

Yelp
Hi, I want to give huge Kudos to Mick Costello the bartender/ waiter there. We where on vacation and our first time there on 7/17/22. He was amazing on taking care of us. He understands great customer service. What a great individual, thanks for making us feel at home. You have an amazing personality and spunk for life. It was a total of 4 of us and we loved the place and most of all Mick for his attention and amazing customer Service. I had the Veg N' Out Burger it was great. Thank you Mick for everything and giving us a special memory forever. We will be back deffently if where in that area for sure. Thanks again Mick for being you!

John C.

Yelp
I've only been here once after a nice 5 mile hike up and around Mount Tabor. GREAT vegan bites and delicious cocktails, especially if you go for one of the 32 oz mason jar options. I ordered the Buffalo Sub, and I normally detest people who say I couldn't tell if it was vegan, but I couldn't tell if it was vegan. My partner got the grilled cheese with tomato, and they were very understanding with her food allergies (beyond just being vegan already, which is a huge plus in our book!) Happy to answer any and all questions she had about her meal. If we're ever in the area again, we'll make a beeline straight back here!

Elliot S.

Yelp
My burger tasted below average though the staff were helpful but my RC cola was very watered down and had way too much ice

Kaitlyn H.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS BAR!!! The ambiance is always perfect, and Semaj makes it even better Vegan Mac

Charlie T.

Yelp
One of the places that I know that will serve a fairly inexpensive drink and have a good crowd. We came here the other day and was in luck that is was happy hour at the time. The drinks are pretty good and inexpensive (even cheaper during happy hour) and they have food specials during that time. Please note there's no meat here. We tried the buffalo sub sandwich, which had soy curls drenched in buffalo sauce. The sandwich was pretty tasty and also kinda messy. Overall, a pretty good sandwich for being vegetarian. The place does have a covered outdoor section and non cover section in the back.

Nikki H.

Yelp
This place was recommended to my husband by a coworker who knew my vegan preferences. Cute little hole-in-the-wall type of bar with delicious vegan fare. I had the Fried Chicken Poor Boy and my husband had the Buffalo Sub. Both of our meals were very flavorful and delicious. Even if you are more carnivorous, I can promise you will find many tasty options to eat! We will most definitely be back!

jikaiah s.

Yelp
Always delicious vegan food. I love the Cesar salad and grilled cheese w jalapeño and tomat

Clay J.

Yelp
Meat eater here. Tofu bahn-mi was one of the better, most well balanced bahn-mi sandwiches I've had in a while. Kudos! I would definitely order again. Drinks were on point with an eclectic beer selection, full bar, and tasty cocktail menu (some of the 32oz Mason jar variety!) and my vegan partner enjoyed her meal too. I am a fan of the dive bar (hipster, I guess) vibe and this place fit the bill. Thanks for a great Monday afternoon visit.

Sarah J.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for almost a decade for their food. However, recently the food has seriously gone downhill. I got a bowl and it had no flavor. It was almost completely bland. My friend's food had not one, but TWO hairs in it. She didn't feel comfortable asking for another or for a refund because the bartender had already snapped at her when she ordered. We've both worked in service forever so we always try to give folks the benefit of the doubt. But that, plus my bland food plus her food with hairs in it really was my limit. Not what it used to be sadly!

Ashley B.

Yelp
The vegan fare is hard to beat and the service is just superb. Our bartender, Rose, provided fantastic service and made us feel at home. Come here and to her if you want a great vegan or normal Portland meal!

Nic C.

Yelp
One of the best experiences I've had in a long time. Friendly staff and delicious food. Well made drinks to boot. Hard to beat.

Kayla M.

Yelp
Best vegan Mac and cheese! Bartender was very friendly and kind. They serve drinks in huge jars. For the price I paid I feel like I got a huge amount! Perfect for two.

Bradley S.

Yelp
This was the best mac-n-cheese i've ever had! Wife had the buffalo sub and really enjoyed it, too. Moreover, I found the people working there super nice, also! The prices were pretty decent and the beer not too bad, either:).

Maria A.

Yelp
The pretzel knots were BOMB! Super soft on the inside, nice crusty outside, & the miso chive cheese was delicious! Yuuuuummmm! The tofu banh mi also had great flavor & all the different textures from the crusty bread to the chewy but firm tofu to the creamy mayo sauce made for a great combo. I would have liked for the veggies to be more vinegary & just a tad more spice to it. The Mac & cheese was good but did not quite satisfy the craving for ooey gooey Mac. Inside is dark & moody but they do have some outdoor seating if you'd prefer a little more light. You can carry on a conversation just fine without yelling, which I appreciate. The bartenders were nice, not overly friendly but nice enough. The drinks were a little weak. Overall a good experience with some tasty bites.

Yelp
I want my last meal on earth to be the buffalo sub. This delicious sandwich with buffalo soy curls is everything I want it to be. I love their rotating beer tap list and always prompt service. I have been going to Sweet Hereafter for nine years and it has not changed one bit, and I'm okay with that. I wish the back patio was all open air or got more sunshine, but it's fun for solo dining or hanging with friends.
