Decidedly lower quartile espresso martini. Friends of mine love this place; so other drinks are probably better? I have been here before (2014 for my birthday with a large group of friends) and even then I wondered, why do people like it? It’s popular for sure. But not my thing. Not refined. I’m left scratching my head about what I am misunderstanding about this place.

I love this place! They have an outdoor patio for seating in the front and heated patio in the back! If you’re going for dinner, try to reach there early as it the seats get taken real quick (gets full about 7 pm-ish). Delicious, delllicious food! I personally love all their sliders. And of course, good selection of beers. A warning though: Waffles here for dessert is probably not a good idea.. fair, since this is not a dessert place! The best part is that they have free Trivia nights every Monday. We went on a Trivia night and it was so much fun! And I’ve heard they also have other events on the other days of the week - which you can check on their website. ** Also, their restroom is an experience in itself!

Been here a few times for brunch. Generally liked it. Brought a friend here and turned out they were doing trivia night. Missed the first round but thought it would be fun to play the other four. Guy gave me a face when I asked for a ballot and never collected any of our four rounds. This is a members only club and you’re not in it.

We came here for trivia night and the atmosphere was great even if we ranked incredibly low. the Sycamore has a great Mango beer which I recommend but the food was below mid. Im quite familiar with pub food, but the burgers & sliders we had were overdone/ burnt and also expensive for a corner pub so i can’t recommend the food here.

went for lunch. good vibes. dive bar with a nice open patio. i ordered chicken and waffles with bottomless mimosas. mimosas top tier although the waiter didn’t come every 10/15 minutes like the bar tender told us. the food was ok and the portions were way smaller than expected. i ended up ordering a croché madame because the half size chicken and waffles wasn’t enough. my girlfriend and her friends ordered very cute bite sized chicken sliders

Went for a late brunch yesterday, we got there around 12pm and were seated right away! We sat in the back patio and it was lovely with all the plants and benches. We tried the chicken and waffles, BLT and wagyu beef sliders, which were allll amazing! My favorite was the wagyu sliders, I 100% recommend those if you enjoy beef. They also do bottomless mimosa for $25 per person

Came here for a friend's birthday. In the back of the bar, they have a semi-open patio dining area with picnic style tables. We got the Sycamore Chicken and Waffles. I love that it's not an ordinary waffle but a Belgian-Style Waffle stuffed with prosciutto and manchego cheese, pretty unique! There were really big pieces of prosciutto and it wasn't super cheesy, but the flavors still came through. The fried chicken was decent, tasty and drizzled with Makers Mark Maple Syrup. Love that you can get either a half or full portion of this! (Half order is basically a two quarters of a whole Belgian waffle. We also got a Carnitas Benedict, but honestly, there wasn't anything too special about this one. The sopes were on the harder side, so it was hard to cut. It was topped with a decent amount of carnitas, poached egg, roasted jalapeno, hollandaise, pico de gallo, and cotija cheese. Of course we had to try their famous Pork Belly "donuts." The group ordered a few orders of these so everyone could try one. Pieces of pork belly are battered and fried. On the outside is a bourbon maple syrup glaze and some sea salt. They were interesting, but not sure if I'd pay 3 something a pop for them. I'd say, try them at least once!

This is a decent brunch spot. There is indoor seating and outdoor. The indoor is pretty dark and has a divey feel to it. I personally love divey bar vibes so I enjoyed it. The outdoor seating in the back had a lot more sunlight, not so much divey but more boujee. So you get best of both worlds. The drinks and food must be ordered at the bar. The bartenders were friendly, attentive and couldn't expect more from them. Good selection of beers of draft. Ate the Sycamore Roast Beef sandwich and honestly it wasn't all that great. The Salmon Scramble was great and Garlic Fries were incredible. My group and I ate about 4 baskets of Garlic Fries so that should tell you how tasty they were.

This place looks mike a dive bar from the outside. But they serve food so we came here for a bite before the Carnaval parade. Friendly service, cool environment, but the food was just okay.

Fries are always hot i really like their mulled wine too. So good when it's cold outside. But usually only winter so we get sangria instead. Outdoor space is really nice feels like ur inside when ur outside

Came here for bottomless brunch. The food was not the best-- the pulled pork sandwich didn't have much flavor and was pretty soggy. The garlic fries were really good though!

My favorite thing about the Sycamore the beef slider and my second favorite is the people - from the bartenders to the kitchen guys they're a friendly bunch. I play trivia here regularly and this weekend I visited for brunch with my trivia teammate. We got the half chicken waffles. The waffle comes with a bourbon syrup on it and almost tastes like French toast. The Croque Madame sandwich is a twist on the classic ham cheese and egg croissant with handmade potato chips and a bowl of fruit. The fact that they're handmade makes them taste extra delicious. We also got beef and chicken sliders - The beef slider comes with carmelized onions and blue cheese and is like a little bite of heaven. There is a backyard area and outdoor seating as well. Overall - Ambiance 5/5 Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Drinks - $ I didn't have any today but they usually have a good sour on tap. Beers are reasonably priced. Bottomless mimosas are $28 an could be a vibe

I'm here on a Saturday for lunch. The front room and the back patio both have plenty of room, there are maybe 4 groups here. They are only serving brunch, which wasn't what I can in for but I'm having the salmon eggs Benedict and it's delicious. This place looks like a dive bar and nothing is level from the floor to the tables that wobble. Service is good and the people are nice. They only serve beer/wine and since it's brunch they have mimosas. Three sizes in fact, mini, pinty, and endless. I'm not in the mission often so I'll probably never be back as I like to try new things and while this place is good it's not great for what I'm usually looking for.

I love this place. It's in the mission where there is always something to watch out the window. And let me tell you about the butter, garlic fries! You order at the counter and they bring the food out. Also, the monster-mosa was the touch we needed!

Came here for Red Light Lit's open mic that my friend was performing at. Parking can be tough as it's in the heart of the bustling Mission so come early if you're driving or chance Bart- 16th and Mission exit. First impression is that of a present-day dive bar when you enter - dimly lit, unglamorous, eclectic and if you travel further in, you'll see the door to a secret patio in the back. Almost expecting to provide a password to get in- kinda speakeasy-ish. The outdoor patio is where the open mic was held and it was an intimate area with long wooden tables, wall art, and some plants. Their garlic fries and peach sangria were pretty good - I ate the fruit slices in the sangria and got a welcomed mini buzz on the empty stomach. Looks like they also have a menu with upscale bar food and of course, lots of drinks. The bartender was friendly with a heavy handed pour for my Pinot Grigio that I ordered later. Vibe was chill - it's an ideal place for a small event and to hang out with friends. Also there are a ton of yummy Mexican spots nearby if the craving hits.

This is the #1 top choice for mimosa brunch between the city, the east bay, and the south bay. The food is delicious and gets even better after a couple of drinks. It's gastropub style, fun quirky art. Long benches in the back patio that encourage talking and getting to know people outside of your group.

Very disorganized structure for seating and ordering. We were first seated then told to order at bar when ready; however, we were unaware that a line had formed at the bar with people that hadn't been seated yet, so by the time we decided on our food there was a line out the door. I've always really liked this place but given my last experience I won't be in a rush to get back. That being said, the food was good and came out quickly, and mimosa service was great.

garlic fries were great, but florentine benedict not so. the potatoes were ice cold and soggy, as if fried in cold oil. the portions are smaller than most brunch places for the same price. we mainly went for the mimosa pitchers, which unfortunately did not taste great. the staff were very accommodating and patient though.

Came here on a Sunday for brunch. Ordered the pork donuts and chicken slider. The donuts were not great & hella salty. The chicken slider was okay but the buns were over toasted & almost too hard to chew. The service was cool, folks were friendly & picked up dirty plates periodically which was alright.

I brought a large group of people here for a brunch party. The service was good, they never let the bottomless mimosas go empty. The food was spectacular. I had the chicken and waffles and was pleasantly surprised. I figured it would be good but the overall presentation and distinct flavors was wonderful. I will return for future gatherings.

Eh these garlic fries are so legit I'm wondering if they rival Santiago's garlic fries at California Billiards in Fremont. These fries are on point! Holy smokes!

I came here over the weekend and it was busy in the back patio with 4 other dogs. My husky played nicely with the others. Everyone and their dogs were friendly. Good selection of beers on draft. Service is also good. Crowd is interesting, but super chill. Bubba and I would come back again.

It's nice when you have a Taxi driver who knows all the best and cool places to eat at and i would've never knew about this place and glad he brought me here yesterday because i never had a Taco made like this with these toppings and this was good and hit the spot for a little snack or lunch but the chips were little stale that was disappointing. I was checking the menu and they have some yummie food but nothing that was popping out for me and it's little too expensive for me but if you are looking forward to try something different and opened mind then come here and give them a try for yourself. But for me i will have to passed on this place for me but like i said the Taco i had was really good and actually refreshing and trying something different. Thanks for reading my Review! ~Lizzie~

Came in on Saturday morning. Staff was snot welcoming even after I said, HELLO!. Just waiters getting drunk and chit chatting with friends. Only the Mimosas person was doing their job. The Mimosas are over price for cheap champange and oj. The scramble order was the Salmon and Bacon Scramble. The bacon one was good, but it could of used another egg. Look to me they only use one, which made the meal just bacon, onions, and tomatoes. The salmon one didn't have much flavor, just salt. They love SALT! The potatoes that comes on the side were cold and Over salted. So I asked for two slice sof bed instead. The side of fruit was fresh and sweet. As for the ambience don't sit inside the pillows need to be replaced, and the foundation is sinking making the tables and chairs sit lopsided.

I love this bar, they have a good variety of beers and drinks. Great outdoor space in back with some crazy murals. Celebrated a few birthdays here and it's always a fun time (profile picture from 2013 at this bar). Plus they do bottomless mimosas during brunch

That's honestly what drew us in - tempted us into a pre-dinner snack because that just sounded too wild & good and it really was!!!! So beautiful with a flaky pastry shell & smoked pork belly that melts in your mouth. I'm so glad to be a recovering vegetarian! This one could've slipped right through my mapley fingers!!! P.s. They have trivia & a projector P-P.s. Only one bathroom so be a good patron & go p-p at home if you can. Save it for the staff Super cool spot!!

BEWARE !!! Make sure to watch out for the back door that leads to the back patio . It's a low small door - it's not a standard size door . Over 2 weeks ago I hit my head and suffered a head concussion and I'm still not well . It's been a nightmare ! This back door is a hazard to all people . For example if there was a fire or an emergency people running out through the back door could get hurt like I have I'm sure I'm not the only one that has hit there head - So. pls ! Pls ! Pls ! Watch your head when entering or exiting the back door that leads to the back patio ! I don't want this to happen to other people ! Peoples safety should come first ! My life has changed due to this poorly designed doorway

Loved this place for bottomless mimosa brunch! Definitely call ahead and make a reservation, it really made things a lot easier. The way of operations is a little unusual, but you order at the bar before getting seated and you can leave your card and open a tab if you want to continue ordering more. We had a lovely table in the back outdoor patio! Instead of bottomless, we opted for the monster pitchers instead. Two of them for ~$30 each was a way better deal than bottomless ($20) for our party of four. Plus the servers who were refilling other tables' bottomless glasses also refilled ours! A STEAL! The food itself was alright, the drinks and affordability was the real star of the show. And amazing service as well!

They play the best music of any bar in the city. Full stop. The vibe is great. The backyard patio is perfect. The bar food is delicious, especially the roast beef sandwich and wagyu sliders. Solid beer list. Friendly bartenders. No complaints here.

After years of walking by The Sycamore, I finally came here with a few friends before hitting up Arena SF. When I looked around inside, I was pretty sure I'd stumbled here drunk at some point but never reviewed the bar, so here I am again... older and slightly more sober. We ordered beers with the abrasive bartender, who tried upselling some weird liquor in a tiny bottle. My favorite part about The Sycamore was the back patio, which was well-lit and lively. A little chilly the evening I was there, but I loved the energy. There's so much to look at, from brewery stickers and TVs to random dogs and drunk humans. Once my friends got up to leave, I stayed on the bench for a little longer and nursed my beer, feeling very content with the ambiance.

Nice bar and snacks but they allow smoking in the back patio. Unfortunately there is no air flow despite being outside. Yuk. Stagnant smoky air really ruins the vibe.

I came here for brunch with friends and overall had an ok experience. You order at the bar (both food and drinks) before self-seating. My biggest issue was that they were out of multiple items (ranging from food items to "we could have bottomless mimosas or a mini/pinty-mosa but not the carafe" (something to do with not enough of the actual carafes?)). I ended up getting the salmon scramble and the Pinty-mosa (16oz, $12). Both were good/standard but nothing special. From other reviews, it sounds like the star of the show here is their bottomless mimosa experience, which I have to admit for $25 is quite a steal.

A cozy, homey, slightly dive-y kind of place. I liked it a lot! The music was great. They have a cool jukebox that plays the music. Lots of board games to choose from if that's your style. Lots of food and drink options, which is more my style. Tried the deep fried Brussels sprouts (5/5) and the fried chicken slider (tiny little thing, dry, 3/5). I enjoyed the overall vibe and the staff is nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

Came here on two separate days for brunch, it's relatively inexpensive place in the mission for brunch and I would suggest this as a catch up place. They blast music loudly but if you sit at their store front or their back patio it's more well lit and it's nice that other people come here to socialize too. 1. The back patio is insulated, A true blessing in 55. Degree rainy weather. I get cold easily and wasn't sure about this when they said "patio" 2. Love their sliders 3. I would ask for less syrup on chicken and waffles.

Waitress was rude. Other staff was slow. Not welcoming. For such poor service it was rlly over priced. We ordered bottomless mimosas and it took 20min for the waitress to final fill our glasses up again. The mimosas were $28 per person so waiting that long was kinda irritating considering we paid so much. Especially since I asked her nicely twice and she gave attitude and ignored us. I just don't get what we did to offend her. The waitress made us feel so awkward for asking over and over for a refill-we had to basically fight for what we paid for every-time. I rlly don't get it. Maybe she was having a bad day but I'm never going back and feel i wasted my money. UGH! Also the bathroom was gross!

The bottomless mimosas for $28 are a good deal, they stop by your table every 10-15 minutes to refill your cup. The vibe is pretty nice (although I could do without the flies), but the food wasn't good. The chicken and waffles had good reviews but the chicken was burnt, the prosciutto inside the waffles didn't really taste right and everything was doused in syrup making the food saggy. The pulled pork wasn't that good either, it was the items they put over the pulled pork (seems like cabbage with a different sauce) didn't taste that good. I'd recommend eating somewhere else and then coming here for mimosas. Also, if you call for reservations make sure you specify if you want indoor or outdoor seating.

Sycamore more like sick of this lol jk but the service at this place sucks. We were there for a friends bday brunch and the attitude we got from staff was horrible, it made us feel as if we were forcing them to work there. Its not the customers fault you don't like your job. Sucks cus its a cool bar but oh well! If you wanna feel unwelcomed and get side eyed by the gringos at the bar go here. 1 star for the fries

The Sycamore is such a gem in the mission! My group and I had the best time at bottomless mimosas. The service is incredible, and they don't let your drink get empty, ever. In fact, they topped up my drink even after I took the tiniest sip! The food isn't the best, but I'm sure you won't be coming here for just the food. The eggs benedict was filling and the Brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious. They have a outdoor patio in the back to sit in, which is spacious and COVID friendly. Overall, a super cute spot to spend your Sunday. $25 for bottomless mimosas can't be beat!

4 STARS FOR THE VIBES. such a fun place to do some bottomless!!! the staff loves to keep your glass full and I definitely was not complaining!!! hack: they got mimosa pitchers! depending on your party size, might be worth it to get pitchers instead of going the bottomless route. plus the staff still fills up your glasses like you're doing bottomless. it was GREAT. so fun. putting this as one of my top bottomless spots so far in the city! food itself was alright! I got the roast beef sandwich which was nothing special and garlic fries were okay too (but great to soak up some of the mimosas lol)

Literally a whole in the wall and pretty edgy! Food was yummy, bottomless mimosas were great (constantly being refilled), vide was awesome. Like I said it's a whole in a wall type place, not bougieee so if you're bougieee might jot be your place. Anyone else who cares about the vibes, food, drinks and a good time (this yo place).

Honestly, they have one of the more affordable bottomeless mimosas offerings I've seen in my days. Also, the staff were more than happy to keep the glasses full. So, I would solely come back for the bottomless mimosas. To pair with my mimosas I also ordered a Florentine Benedict. Pretty standard, nothing crazy. I came here for brunch on a Saturday. Pretty packed. Make sure you have a reservation as it is also a small venue.

I've been here before and really enjoyed it, but unfortunately I can't say the same this time. The pork belly doughnuts were soggy and drenched in oil and the rest of the food was pretty bland. I will say the bloody murdy was incredible. Nice and and spicy! Cute back patio and with the addition of the parklet there's a lot of outdoor seating.

Monday night trivia starts at 8pm and is 6 rounds (about 8 questions each) My friends and I have been searching the Mission for good trivia and so far this one is my favorite (we've also tried Teeth and Elixir). Both the food and the trivia questions are great here. I really dislike it when trivias have "music rounds" and they only play rock music that caters to a certain crowd...I am so glad this place does not do that. The categories ranged from current events to San Francisco facts. The categories change every Monday night. The food here is really delicious! The menu has both items you can snack on and full dishes if you're looking to have a full meal. I really liked the tortilla chips with habanero salsa. The cheese fries and Cobb salad were good as well. I wasn't a big fan of the caprese sliders or the jalapeño poppers, so I'll have to try some other menu items next time. Food and trivia aside, I really liked that there was plenty of table space in both the front and back of the restaurant. It's great for groups. The servers are really friendly as well!

With COVID and other unforeseen circumstances, my daughters dream wedding was canceled. So we decided to do a fun mini wedding in the city, by the beach. None of this was traditional, so neither should the reception (plus with all this pandemic stuff, we were a small group). So, I started calling some of the bride and grooms favorite places. The Sycamore was the best call as it led me to the owner who was wonderful and accommodating for our family celebration. Food was amazing! Beer selection was amazing! Service was amazing! Carl, thanks for everything! What a fabulous memory for the bride and groom, and The Sycamore has some new customers too!

We decided to get brunch at the sycamore. There was no more room in the back patio but there was room in the front, so we got seated there. In terms of service, it was very mediocre. We walked in and it was very confusing where we would get seated. We decided to get a pitcher of mimosas. The food was okay..pretty overpriced for the amount. The chicken for the chicken and waffles was not seasoned, so it tasted pretty bland. The eggs benedicts were pretty good. The veggie scrambled eggs were just a little off..Overall, it was very okay. Not sure we will be going back again.

Visiting San Francisco for the first time, my friends took me on the tourist travel plan. I'll write more reviews about other places in that trip, but for now I wanted to tell you guys about a lively and very vibrant bar in the Mission District. We pulled into The Sycamore after walking the entire stretch of the Mission and checking out the graffiti in the Clarion Alley Mural Project, as we needed a little liquid fuel for our fires. Most of the patrons choose to sit outside because of the mask requirements inside, so we decided to follow suit. We ordered a couple of the drafts they had on tap and moved to a small table for some people watching, which I was soon to find out is in no short supply in San Fran. The bar, it's staff, and patrons are an extremely colorful and friendly bunch, and the decor is perfectly in sync. They have a full bar, many drafts and bottled beers and delicious smelling food (sadly, we didn't have time to eat). The service was excellent and they did a great job of being conscientious of the pandemic. This is a great little spot to go have a drink (and maybe a smoke...) and have something tasty too eat as needed. It's exactly as the wall says, Good Food, Good Beer, Good Times.

We got here on a particularly windy day and were seated outside on the side alley. The wind was almost blowing my enthusiasm away when the nice staff asked us if we wanted to move to the back patio harnessing my enthusiasm back in place :) Food : Since this is mostly a drinking place, we wanted to test out the food so we ordered the chicken nuggets with fries. The fries were okay-ish but the chicken was not to my liking at all. It was well cooked but was very bland with no flavor. That the end of my food order here. Drinks : We got the Fort point lager which was one of the best Beers I have had. I had gotten so busy trying out cocktails in this city that I had almost forgotten what beer tasted like - till I had a glass (well, maybe 3) here. We also tried the Pliney IPA which was quite tasty and fruity for an IPA (not a fan of IPA). They also have different flavored seltzers here if you want a break from Beer and other hard alcohol. Ambience : They have limited seating indoors but have a good sized patio in the back which is tented with heaters (game changers). The minute I arrived here, I was not sure if we could continue sitting there because of the wind and cold for beyond a drink and then we were moved to the back where we had 3 more rounds of beer. This patio is cozy and has quite interesting art on all the walls. In the evenings, they also sometimes use a projector to project images/cartoons on one of their walls in the patio. I hear they have trivia nights once a week as well. They only have one unisex bathroom but they were being periodically cleaned. Staff : Really sweet staff, took care of us immediately and helped us find a table in the back patio which was a life saver from the gruesome wind. Right from our bartender to the staff serving us, we loved our little chats with them and their recommendations on beer. Value for Money : Definitely! Come here in a large or a small group, the place is cozy, alcohol is good. I only wish the food was on par as well.

Stayed here until closing the other night and the staff and guests were all great. If I lived nearby I could definitely see this place being my go-to. The vibes were right. Nice variety of drinks, good company, just the right amount of divey. Will have to try brunch some time.
