The Best Gay Bars In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The T isn’t typically where we go to turn up (unless we’re hitting karaoke nights on Thursdays). But when we want a break from the buzzing Midtown spots that feel more clubby, we head to Grant Park so we can actually hear our friends talk. Their location (inside a small strip mall that also houses a martial arts studio and a nail salon) feels a little more low-key and private. It’s one small, almost-never crowded room with a rectangular bar in the center, a lone pool table in the back, and a purple glow coming from the string lights on the ceiling. Their takeout-only kitchen, serviced by Boulevard Burgers and Bites, offers decent burgers and wraps in case you hit the beer a little too hard." - juli horsford

Parking is survival of the fittest. You might not find anything. Carpool hard. Try to get at least 4 of you in 1 vehicle at a time. Not a lot of room to move around once you get inside, either, but there is a patio with tables and chairs. Go for the house music.

Parking felt like an olympic event. After waiting too long to park the car we proceeded to the line at the door only to be met by an unfortunate looking creature dressed in blue at the door, who felt the need to speak down to patrons forgetting she ONLY works there. We did what many other people have done, should do, and will do if the attitude of the employees towards those who pay their salary isn't tweaked. A friendly reminder; businesses go out of business when clients take their business to places where their business is welcomed and appreciated.

Server , Trevor gave great recommendations and had excellent customer service ! The food was amazing . Best grits I have ever had . The chicken is well seasoned cooked to perfection and cinnamon French toast was delicious! Honestly everything our table ordered was delicious . Thanks for the experience . Can’t wait to come back when I visit again .

Bartenders are the worst. Don’t acknowledge the guests at the bar. They have no sequence of service. Whoever owner is really must not care because there is a huge loss of revenue. For this to be a pregame plait for the bigger bars they definitely miss a lot of business. I read the reviews and saw the many mentions of terrible bartenders and still decided to give it a shot. This was my first and last trip here. Do not recommend.

I came out to celebrate a friend birthday tonight and was avoided by two bartenders. I moved to 3 different areas they were solely focusing on and was disregarded each time. We simply just walked away. I love coming to this friendly neighborhood bar but this time I was very dissatisfied.

Cool spot for 35 and older LGBT community. Bartenders are cool haven't had the food yet but will most definitely try it soon

The bartender Felix was so in a rush to run outside to smoke, when we walked in he was rushing us to order because he needed a smoke break and was very rude about it. He took one of the people order that was with us and made the rest of us wait and took everybody order around the bar and came back to us 15 mins later being very extra about taking our order. He is very rude and I will not be back the days he work at all!!!!!

Google
By far one of the worst bars in Atlanta. I literally stood in the same spot waiting to be served for 20 min. After patiently waiting, a crowd of white Americans came up and the bartenders ran to serve them. Remind you, I’m an African American. Granted the entire bar was filled with African Americans but the fact that the bartender never acknowledged my presence was pretty sad. While he made their drinks, I asked would I be next?, he said, “back up and wait your turn god damn!” (Older white gentleman, grey beard)- I would never return, nor recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Fun, low-key gay bar with friendly people, good service. Enjoyed meeting people and listening to the music

Yelp
Intimate neighborhood LGBTQ bar, mostly mature SGL men. Great vibe, friendly people and bartenders. Good food.

Yelp
BAD ATTITUDE = LOSS OF REVENUE. If you're wondering why sales are declining, it's your bartender's attitude. The bartender on the night of Wednesday 8/14/2024 around 830 was EXTREMELY rude and dismissive. I sat and waited patiently only to be greeted with the nastiest attitude and when I politely got up to leave because I refuse to spend a dime anywhere that treats me that way, he took his hand and threw it gesturing he doesn't care. Me and my money went right down the street for that same drink another business is profiting off your bartenders attitude.

Yelp
Omg came here last night and I would never come again. The bartender was beyond rude. I didn't know this was a gay bar nor did I care, I tend to enjoy all different types of environments. I was intentionally ignored by the bartender after I had asked for my check. Let me back track when I had first walked in I was served by a different bartender who looked like he was ending his shift. I was alone at this time. But then a gentleman sat next to me and we proceeded to talk. After a short conversation I had asked the new bartender for my check. Was ignored. Then the gentleman I was speaking with asked for service and he said after he took care of the couple who walked up to the right of me. Still no acknowledgement. Then he skips over me and takes care of the lady to my left. Like hello can I please get my check. Then after pretty much begging for my check the lady to the left of me told the bartender that I needed service and he finally came to me. Wow! When I asked why I was ignored he was completely rude. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! He made me feel like my $$$ wasn't even good enough. Idk if it was a race thing or the fact that I was a straight black female! I almost teared up! Worst experience ever. To be ignored than to finally get his attention for him to be nasty and rude when all I asked is why I was not being tended to. He was a white make, wanna say his name was felix but not sure. He had dark hair with a beard and mustache and he may have been wearing glasses. Im a bartender myself and you just don't treat ppl that way. He shldnt even have a job in customer service. Horrible, horrible, horrible. If I could leave 0stars I would. First time here and my last. BLACK woman avoid this place like a plaque!!!!!

Yelp
Grant Park little bar reminds me of the show Cheers! The price for my cocktail was thumbs up and I went on a Friday night. There is a Chef available on certain days and his food was amazing! I had a juicy burger and I think it was a Whiskey Peach burger. It was so good that I came back on the following Sunday for another Whiskey Burger but they didn't serve food on Sundays. They said you could go next door to order pizza and bring it in the bar. I passed on that and just waited until the next Friday. I'm definitely going back!

Yelp
Came here visiting Atlanta before my flight back home and it was so welcoming. Everyone was friendly, so warm and comfy on a cold day. Drinks are cheap and good too! 10/10

Yelp
Met some friends here to enjoy karaoke on a Friday night recently. We enjoyed ourselves. It was busy but the two bartenders were keeping up with everyone fine. My drink was strong but not overly so. They managed tabs effectively. The person running the karaoke was professional and efficient. I would only suggest announcing that the cut off time was coming up soon so people can work on getting over their nerves. I didn't order food but one of our party got the nachos and it was loaded down! And smelled great. This was a nice little spot if you don't want to head to midtown but want to be comfortable. A nice mixed crowd that wasn't pretentious. Would recommend ++.

Yelp
Theeee worst customer service. If you're not their friend, good luck getting a drink. I'm all about bartenders having a good time but not at the expense of waiting 20 minutes for a drink and getting skipped over for their friends. The white guy with the glasses was especially rude. The only bartender worth your time is the Anthony (Black man with glasses)

Dalton C.

Yelp
Staff (save Myisha, kitchen, and karaoke staff) are all rude and combative. Owner Jill won't get a POS system so tabs are kept on a sticky note and at shift change you can't get anything to drink because they only have one card reader and the bartender has to close out their shift to leave. Most patrons are nice but there are some that are really awful regulars there too that just get away with yelling and harassing customers. Skip this bar and go to EAV or Ansley Mall area

Yelp
I've been coming here for the past few weeks because a friend of mine who works there invited me. The food is delicious. The drinks are potent and cheap (maybe slightly over poured). I took a chance to go on a Tuesday. I ordered two $10 drinks for me and a friend and immediately closed the tab. Later I ordered the same two $10 drinks but the bartender tried to charge me $40, saying that I ordered 4 drinks that night. I said "exactly but I've paid for 2 already" and I showed him the receipt. He then says they I still owe for 4 because I didn't pay him, I paid somebody else that was working the bar. I tried to get an understanding of why that mattered. He got frustrated and said, "I am going to kill this person!!!" So now I'm being threatened. Other patrons in the bar observed and said that this particular bartender is notorious for this same practice. Other employees confirmed the same. I asked him for a manager and he said he was the manager which obviously was a lie because the place would have been closed for business if this is a common practice. I'm gonna give them another shot but this was enough to make me never want to go there again.

Yelp
I have been in the former Cockpit for many years, spent thousands of dollars in there to support a local bar and community. As anyone who lives in the Grant Park, Ormewood, East Atl Village - know all too well the struggles that this location has endured. After the management changes and after years of struggle, Jill from former Model T off Ponce decided to take ownership. She has always been nothing but kind to me and many others and a few years ago it was refeshing to get a new team and future in this location on Boulevard. I hadn't been in this place for several months considering the pandemic and other variables. I visited last night - Saturday Feb 19 2022. The vibe and energy was welcoming. What I found troubling - is that a bartender (name not to mention) was rude and unwelcoming - all to me dismay. While the evening was one of enjoyment overall meeting some great people, this particular bartender had no interest in servicing my request at the bar as he made clear he was in middle of shift change. Ok - well then , get someone else who can welcome me and take drink request. That took awhile. Needless to say the evening was good. A short time ago, I called the Model T Grant Park, on a Sunday, with one simple question? Who is the evening bartender? The first person who answered refused to give me a simple answer and demanded my name. Once given, this person hung up on me?? I called back, I said I was hung up on and again asked what I believe is a simple question that deserves respect and a VERY SIMPLE ANSWER. I was for the second time hung up on. What kind of folks are these people?? You can't and refuse to simply answer a very easy question? I'm soooo disapponted in this and I hope the owner will take this up with her employee(s) to ensure that customer service is NEVER forsaken. I'm hoping that whomever took the calls is re-trained to offer simple customer service. Without that, all places will end up failing!!!!
