The Table at De Meye

The Table at De Meye is truly a special experience when visiting Cape Town. This was our 2nd time visiting for lunch and it didn’t disappoint. The environment that’s created here is hard to put into words. They’ve truly embraced home style cooking, being together with friends and family, and making guests feel comfortable. Each item on the menu is carefully thought out to create an entire meal and really an experience for diners. It’s amazing because you’re familiar with most of the ingredients on the table but they’re cooked and combined with new ingredients that makes it fun yet very enjoyable. Part of you feels like you’re eating at mom’s house but at the same time it’s a few levels above mom’s dinner table. My favorite part is Leigh. She really brings the whole experience together. How she welcomes guests, how she checks in on you but also doesn’t make you feel like she’s tracking you. She makes you feel like you’re a long time friend who’s back for another visit. A few times I caught her standing back and just observing all of the tables and guests from afar in the beautiful autumn sun. Orchestrating when each table would receive their next course and when her team should attend to them. The pure joy on her face as she watched the hard work of the team at The Table is just one of those moments that you don’t always get to see from those who run the show. L & B, you both have created a truly special experience that really tops anything else. We can’t wait to return again on our next visit. 💛

Absolutely magnificent! This is an absolute must for farm to table dining. The food was... possibly too good to give words to and there was so much of it. We had a very relaxing lunch and I really appreciated the extra effort to accommodate our dietary preferences. I cannot recommend The Table more highly, if there were 10 stars I'd give them a 10/5. Thank you to everyone who made it the perfect day. We had warm blankets and sat outside. Service was excellent and perfectly timed. We loved hearing about the food from Paul and felt well taken care of.

The chefs clearly have a deep passion for what they do, and it shines through in every bite. The menu was well-balanced, and every course was a delightful surprise. The service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, friendly yet professional. The staff made sure we were well taken care of, adding to the overall sense of warmth and authenticity. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just a meal, but a complete experience—one that engages all your senses—Table at De Meye is a must-visit. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful lunch during our first time at The Table. Our server, Teddy, made our whole experience a truly memorable one. He was so attentive and pleasant, he also made some wine recommendations which we really enjoyed. The food, as to be expected was phenomenal! We’ll be dreaming about the blueberry crumble for a long long time. We can’t wait to be back 😍

Beautiful setting, seating under trees, large grass lawn, and a local friendly dog 🐶. Really no complaints. Perfect for large gatherings, we were 14 people and had a wonderful day. It's quite a unique dining experience, very laid back.

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! We went for a friend’s birthday and enjoyed a delicious lazy lunch under the trees. The service was excellent, as we arrived, bubbles were poured and the meals started coming. Everyone with dietary restrictions was catered for and the waiters knew them by name. The food was delicious and perfect portions! After eating, we put blankets down and enjoyed some chill-out time in the shade. Loved it.
