The Taco Stand - Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Taco Stand on Lincoln Road marks the restaurant’s third location in Miami. The other two are in Wynwood and Calle Ocho. And if they're anything like the Wynwood location, you can expect solid carne asada tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

Google
The taco stand was on my list for a while and we happen to be around this area so we gave it a go. The tacos are OK. I think overall, you do get a good amount of filling for the taco considering the price point, whereas at other places you get less for the same price. So from that perspective, nothing to complain. Regarding the tacks, I prefer the pork taco much more than the cactus one, which I did not like at all. Regrding the service, food gets delivered within 5 to 10 minutes and they make it right in front of you so we can actually watch them prepare for you.

Google
A real hidden gem in South Miami! The handmade tortillas make all the difference — everything tastes incredibly fresh and authentic. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Definitely try the Pescado Burrito — it’s outstanding! The corn on the cob is perfectly seasoned and truly a must-try experience. And the churros… simply the most authentic ones you’ll find around! If you’re looking for a fast-food-style place with real quality Mexican food, this spot is totally worth it.

Google
This is definitely my favorite place to eat in Miami. Loaded fries had a lot of meat and cheese was also tasty and didn’t taste cheap. I also had pork and fish tacos that were juicy and flavorful. This place is not expensive compare to other restaurants in Wynwood. Must try.

Google
Stumbled upon this taco stand in Miami Beach and both the food and service was incredible. Elvis, who was working there, was very kind and friendly—super rare these days and honestly made my night :). You could tell he actually cared for the customers, not just about the food but about the people coming by. The tacos hit the spot, but it was the warmth and hospitality that made this place memorable. If you’re in the area and want great food served with real heart, this stand is worth stopping for!

Google
Absolutely fantastic food and an ambient that will make you leave happier than when you entered. Fast service, very cheap and where you even could add additional sauces and limes if needed. Incredible!

Google
I absolutely love the food here, I could honestly eat it every day! I’ve tried both the tacos and burritos, and while both were great, I personally prefer the burritos. What I really appreciate is that they don’t just fill them with rice and beans they use a great variety of fresh ingredients, plus there’s a salsa bar, which is a huge bonus. The place is often crowded, and once you try the food, you’ll understand why. It’s not a fancy spot, more of a casual bistro with really good food. I can’t wait to come back!

Google
This place is amazing. We’ve been in town for four days and I’ve already eaten here three times. The only issue is the wait. Two of those three visits, I waited 30+ minutes for my food even though the restaurant was empty when I arrived. Today I ordered at 11:50 a.m.; there were only two staff members working (one cooking and handling dishes, one washing dishes). By 12:17, I was still waiting on two tacos and an order of churros—and by then the place was packed. It doesn’t take 30 minutes to make that order, especially when it’s not busy. The food is easily 5+ stars, but the lack of preparation and long wait times really affect the experience. If they can get staffing and timing dialed in, this would be an absolutely perfect spot.

Google
I visited Taco Stand on Lincoln Road and Alto Road in South Beach after a friend swore they had the best tacos in the area, and I was not disappointed. The spot looks like a real local taqueria you might find in Mexico, not a Taco Bell or Chipotle, which immediately gave me the right vibe. I skipped tacos and ordered the fish burrito because I am pescatarian, and it was incredible. The burrito was huge, packed with tender white fish, pico de gallo, and a crisp slaw-like salad. There was no rice or beans, yet every bite was juicy and full of flavor, and it gave me a delicious flashback to my favorite taqueria in Boston and the authentic spots in Texas. My friend’s Al Pastor burrito was excellent as well. The staff were friendly and the place can be busy so expect a bit of a wait during rush hours, but it is worth it. I liked it so much I went back the next day, and it is now one of my top Mexican spots in South Beach. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Bustling and loud... the interior dining area is around the kitchen, with some tables, some counter space. You can watch the busy staff at work! In the back there is a sauce station with a great variety from mild to insane. Just inside the front door is the register to place orders and grab drinks. The menu includes tacos and, my favorite, burritos! Beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, veggies and more. They have corn and flour tortillas. Guacamole, of course! On the sidewalk out front they have a couple of tables set up as well. Everything here is made to order, delicious, and absolutely authentic. A great spot!

Yelp
First time coming here! Got the Baja taco and added avocado. The avocado was on the house because they were out of pescado (which has it) so they didn't charge me for the addition. The taco is huge! A really big piece of fish with a nice thick crispy batter. They also have a salsa section and they have soooo many options. The cilantro salsa and the red onions were my favorite on the taco. But the pico de gallo I was just eating straight- it was that fresh! Only tried one today because I wasn't too hungry. But would love to come back!

Yelp
The Taco Stand is a fantastic little taco spot with quick service and not much to right home about ambience wise. But the tacos and burritos are legendary and have a ton of flavor. We really enjoyed our Baja and Al pastor tacos. The baja was one of the most memorable fish tacos I've had in a while packed with ingredients. There isn't a ton to write about the Taco Stand, but if you want some amazing tacos or a burrito and aren't expecting a fancy date... This is your spot!

Yelp
I had such high expectations for this place and was really excited to try it. I had the California burrito and it was okay. I took all the sauces and somehow it still tasted a bit bland. I'll be back in sure to try other items but doesn't compare to Cali burritos unfortunately

Yelp
Best tacos in town as I said before on my review on the wynwood location. First time I make it to the south beach one, located conveniently close to Lincoln Road where you can go after or before for a walk. Brian was super nice helping us sort which tacos to take. The place is cool, with vibrant Latin music and also a nice outdoor sitting

Yelp
Tacos after a beach day would've not been my first choice or cross my mind ever; but I must say this was a good suggestion from my daughter! This WILL be definitely a place to go back to!!! Food was simply delicious every single thing we ordered was on point !!! Very impressed with all plates, flavors were exquisite. Service was excellent- friendly cashier/attendant !!! Also, the ambiance was super cutesie!!! Love everything about it !!!!

Yelp
The food here... is... phenomenal. The carne asada fries were terrific. I always get a burrito or fish tacos. The salsa bar is what stands them apart. It's amazing! The only thing that's lacking is the service. It's always slow and takes forever for your food to come out. Hard when you go with a group of people and people's foods come out at way different times. Such a cute spot, we love visiting anytime we're near one. Always get the churros too!

Yelp
Local taco spot - good spot to meet up and get a light or heavy meal - salsa bar has a good variety

Yelp
The downfall that The Taco Stand opening on my street will be to my wallet and diet is concerning. It is so good, well-priced and worth waiting in the line that there almost always is! Truly, no matter what time of day, there is a crowd which is a good sign. They have limited seating both indoor and outdoor, so often times I just take it to go and eat at home or at the end of Lincoln a few blocks away where there are some benches on the Bay (also half a block in the other direction there is public seating on the pedestrian area of Lincoln road along the fountains!). So far, the secret menu tostones proved to be a little too messy to eat, but everything else has been so good. I am NOT a burrito person (I feel like you get mostly rice and beans), but not here! No rice and beans to be seen, so you're truly getting all burrito. The California is my favorite (don't be deterred by the fries...they had a nice crispy crunch on the inside) and I'm a big fan of acting like I've never tried any of the sauces they have available every time I go. They don't yet have their liquor license (as of April 5), but I heard a rumor they're working on it and will eventually sell margaritas. As of right now they sell beer and sodas. They have bottled sodas and fountain drinks. My one main complaint is the flow of the spot. They need to invest in some double doors lol because right now it's people shuffling past each other to wait in line or get in or out and it definitely can create some chaos. Otherwise this spot is definitely worth stopping by!

Yelp
The first time here and I fell in love with this place. I didn't expect this place to be so delicious. I would come here again and again. I like to think it's going to get bigger but the staff is great. I don't care much for the size. The place looks very friendly and welcoming. I enjoy the environment. The music playing in the background and the Mexican theme is amazing.

Paul L.

Yelp
It's funny. Not two days after I post this, we wait in line for 40 minutes only to get to the counter and for them to tell us they have no shrimp. Baffling. No way on the planet would one of the San Diego locations "run out" of something at 8:30pm. Sadly, we were mistaken in our first review and cannot recommend this place. No clue if this is typical in Miami.

Yelp
The Taco Stand has very quickly become one of my favorite spots! I've been to the Wynwood location but it's been a great addition to have them in Miami Beach now. The staff is friendly, the prices are great, the food is fresh and the sauces are on point. It can get quite busy so it can sometimes take a while to get the food and the freshness/quality does vary at times but still a great taco spot! My favorite is the pescado taco - which is a grilled Mahi Mahi taco. Comes with avocado, cabbage, onions and chipotle sauce. I recently tried their bean burrito and wow. That was generous portion and very tasty. The vibe inside is fun and so is the decor. Definitely a great spot in South Beach!

Chappy B.

Yelp
Slacking compared to Wynwood. Sucks because I love this place/prices but any time I order a shrimp taco in person it's guaranteed cold.... Gross, use the flat top, it is not that difficult to re-heat food.

Jack D.

Yelp
I stood in line for about 20 minutes watching the young cashier covered in tattoos be rude and condescending to multiple patrons before me. He is a jerk and judging from the other reviews here this isn't uncommon. When it was finally my turn, I told him to keep the change. My taco was 4.24 with tax so my tip was 76 cents (over 15 percent) He rolled his eyes at me and sarcastically commented loudly "thank you so much. Wow! Thank you" First and last time coming here. Fortunately for y'all Miami is a tourist city
google avatar

Lexia L.

Yelp
Large portions, fresh food, friendly casual atmosphere. Went with a group of 7 and everyone loved their food: burritos, tacos (surf and turf), and carne asada fries. I understand the hype!

Cody L.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best tacos out there. Al pastor in with cheese is what you should get!
google avatar

Tania S.

Yelp
Best Tacos EVER! I know what great tacos are, seeing as I am from Chicago and have eaten at some amazing taco restaurants. But this place is beyond words. Just the first bite, and you're in heaven especially if you get the Al Pastor Tacos. A must, if your ever in South Beach, and near Lincoln Road! It will not disappoint! I guarantee it.

Yelp
The newly opened branch of The Taco Stand in Miami Beach is located in Lincoln Road. This Taqueria offers authentic taco experience with handmade corn tortillas for their varieties of mexican tacos. They serve tacos, burritos, churros, and also popsicles. I had the Carne Asada Taco which have grilled angus beef, guacamole, onions and salsa. Its was good! I have to try the other tacos in my next visit. Good service and a fast casual ambiance. Check it out!

Yelp
Food so good, we came back a second time but we were staying at the hotel across the street. Busy at night around 11pm, not as busy around 6pm. Love the ambiance and vibes. Quick service for such a busy place.
google avatar

Aurora G.

Yelp
A perfect spot for tacos and burritos! Everything is so freaking good, and the burritos are massive. The staff is great too and from what I hear, they're open late for any after hours cravings. There are lots of sauces to choose from. Just a truly fun spot. I would definitely go back!
google avatar

Shana S.

Yelp
How do you order??Cannot find a phone number. Tried the one online and got a machine Will update after we go there and order I guess Despite the issues ordering the food was decent. The corn wins!
google avatar

Ali W.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab a few tacos- always fresh, simple and good. And they have veggie options- love the cactus (nopal) and mushroom. While there arent too many places to sit, Id recommend going on "off hours". One in Wynwood just as good as well, but usually filled with tourists I find. Nonetheless both are great and give you healthy amount of perfect avocados.

Pam B.

Yelp
The service is pretty good! BUT THE FOOD IS AWFUL. TASTELESS... AND THEY DONT CARE. IF YOU WANT SEASONED FOOD. DON'T EAT HERE. I was totally disappointed. This definitely does no justice for Mexican food. Especially if you like Chipotle. I gave it 2 stars only because service was pretty quick.
google avatar

Heidi M.

Yelp
If you're in Miami and craving authentic, flavorful Mexican food without breaking the bank, The Taco Stand is a must-visit. It's a small space, but it offers handmade corn tortillas, fresh and perfectly seasoned grilled meats, and a variety of delicious salsas. The Al Pastor, chicken and the grilled shrimp tacos were the best, and the elote on a stick was some of the best corn I've tasted. You may have to wait a bit during peak hours, but it's worth the wait!

Daniel F.

Yelp
100% no recomendado
google avatar

Aline O.

Yelp
So far so good. It's very tasty and affordable. Service is quick. It has a self service sauce station with everything you possibly want in your taco.

Audrey H.

Yelp
This cute little place has some of the best burritos I've ever had. The California burrito is incredible, and I love the big assortment of salsas. The vibe is authentic and all the staff is so friendly. I'm so happy they opened a location on the east coast

nadine k.

Yelp
Super yummy & fresh taco/burrito joint! Coming from California we were happy to find good casual Mexican :)
google avatar

JT R.

Yelp
Best in SouthBeach. Delicious and authentic. Bodega used to rule the area but has fallen off a bit and are higher priced but shows no changes that would put it above this place. Great for a quick lunch and I'd even say a romantic walk at night to grab a taco. The area has great vibes, she or he will have a good and lasting memory.

Jay

Yelp
10/10! Authentic asl! You missing out if you don't stop here.‍ Ask for Alex when you get to the front
google avatar

Behzat U.

Yelp
Honestly, so glad this spot is in Miami Beach now. We used to drive all the way to Wynwood for tacos like this, but not anymore. Nico's cooking is on point -- tastes exactly the same, maybe even better. And the vibe? Just good energy all around. They're quick, they joke around, sing, dance... it's the kind of place that makes you wanna hang out a little longer even after you're done eating.
google avatar

Mario R.

Yelp
Little Mexican dive spot. Love it! Al pastor is carne asada melts in yo mouth can't go wrong here. Ambiance is cool too!! I will definitely eat here when ever I'm in the area!! Hard to find a G Mexican Spot!!!! Gracias!!!!!!

Hector B.

Yelp
Good food, good service, good prices. It's in a great location. Open late for those who seek a late night meal. Nothing fancy but does the job. Burritos are my favorite here, order one, you won't regret it.

Michael W.

Yelp
the rudest staff ive recently come across. Absolutely disgusting treatment from their kitchen who refused to tell me my food was ready and let it just get cold without ever acknowledging that they were supposed to ANNOUNCE OUR FOOD IS READY LIKE NORMAL LOGICAL RESTAURANTS DO WHEN YOUR FOOD IS READY IF THEY DONT DELIVER IT. But when I asked why my food was cold, their kitchen staff just told me to leave. Exceptionally disrespectful and classless service.

Andy G.

Yelp
I am a fan of Taco Stand in Wynwood but today we tried the Miami Beach location. It was disappointing. Michelada was served in small plastic cup (impossible to mix properly with tamarind stick and ice). Beers were not ice cold and only 1 Pacifico beer was available during lunch time. The mar Y Terra with fries had under cooked fries and the shrimp were tasteless. The taco pescado had also no flavors and missing spices and salt. Very unlike what I'm used to from Wynwood location. I will stick with Wynwood and avoid Miami Beach. But hope Taco Stand can match the quality in this MB location in future.

Adam L.

Yelp
Delicious, fast , favorite place to eat at. service was great ! and the vibe is unmatched. i

Christy B.

Yelp
So good! We came here a couple times during our vacation. Everything we tried tasted great. Service was good and they were usually busy. Would return if in the area again.

Kristin O.

Yelp
Tony and the boys are amazing! Great customer service and the tacos are so delicious! Fish, chicken and beef! Great spot for authentic food. Been there twice this week! Thank you! Carlos and Kristin
google avatar

Glima E.

Yelp
The best tacos I have ever eaten . The meat and the shell were very fresh , the chips and guaque were also amazing .

Ricardo S.

Yelp
Best tacos in south beach! The Team is very friendly and efficient! Great for a fast lunch on your break

Perla L.

Yelp
Worst service. Flavio needs to be nice to costumers specially if customers asking for just napkins. Not costumers fault that they don't replenish salsas and amenities when asking for them.

Alejandro K.

Yelp
The night crew here always holds it down, can't ask for much more. Fresh tortillas and good service, that's why I keep coming back!

Sarfraz Q.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent service, and wonderfully worker!!! Top tier!!! Everything was exceptional, from food to sauces to people, everything Delicious!!

Lauren V.

Yelp
Just came here and got the carne asada taco and the shrimp taco. Both were great but the shrimp was soooo good. I would have never ordered it but I asked the guy who rang me up what was good and he said, shrimp taco was his favorite. Next time I think I'll just do shrimp it was that good. Yes, they are pricy tacos but they are pretty filling and definitely loaded compared to a regular street taco

Robert P.

Yelp
Was looking for good food but casual and saw this across the street from my hotel. Reminded me of Tacos No 1 in NYC which I love and this did not disappoint. Had the Pollo, Al Pastor and Pescado. All delicious and a good size. Favorite was the Pollo surprisingly - thought it would be most basic but large pieces of grilled chicken slightly charred, chimichurri or something in there as well. Great quick meal

Morokoh G.

Yelp
been here countless times and for good reason. the Mexican food is authentically delicious for a great value! the staff are extremely friendly and approachable. Tony's customer service was exceptional! typically come here 2-3 a week. they open late which is convenient for the area.

Katie B.

Yelp
During vacation I had better Mexican food. It may have just been what I ordered but I was just disappointed. I did pick up the food to go and the salsa was like a little ounce cup. I ordered and payed for chips and salsa. I originally thought it was to go to the slightly dry burrito. Crazy enough but my husband and I were sharing and we didn't finish our food which we is shocking for us. The corn on the cob was good but the rest of it was blah.

Lorena P.

Yelp
el peladito de la caja es buena onda!! gracias chamo!!! gracias por la atención la comida estaba muy esquisita !!!
