7:05 p.m. Thursday 12/18 -This has got to be the worst of the worst we ever had a dinner at. We thought we would try it. We are so glad we did not bring friends with us. We walked in and the nice gent sitting at the bar said no just seat yourselves. The waitress when she saw us came over to us and said you know what you want. I said can I have coffee please it's our first time I'm going to need a few minutes, she said No you can't have coffee we don't have it. I saw the coffee pot right at her station. I said may I have tea ..yep she replied, you want pepsi she asked my husband he said that's fine thank you. I ordered the French onion soup and bacon burger I specified please cook rare ( came out like a hockey puck, soup was sub par at best. Husband ordered mushroom burger well done, it was pink in middle ..she never checked on us and just drank her white wine. No how is everything , no can I get a refill on drink, nothing. With tax & tip came to 65.00. We gave it to the dogs , they did not want mine too hard. We will never go back, she does not need to work as anyone that deals with public, the man behind us said something about her when she walked away and he was spot on. She was exactly what he said . Pretty disappointed after trying for the first time. My plate was brought to me full of oil from the onion rings which soaked my chicken wrap. Not many side options especially if you want something more healthy. Although I didn't feel the service was 100% up to par the lady was nice enough to give me a discount to try to make up for it. Overall I probably will not return.

We were seated quickly. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. The wait staff was frenzied and tripping over one another. We waited a long time to be acknowledged and when someone did come to take our order, they turned and walked away before we could say anything. After we finally ordered only two of us were served and they had to make the order for the 3rd person in our party. (We were all on the same check) The food was mediocre at best. Eggs were ok. The hash was awful. Very salty and inedible. We mentioned that, but there was no compensation for that or the missing meal. Will not be returning.

We frequent quite often. Food is good. One of our pals dropped a earring under the table when we looked under it was pretty disgusting just filthy the lamp near the booth by the wall was full of dust not sure if we will be back I was a exec catering manage etc rest manager for many many yrs my rest was spotless clean it up

The atmosphere was honestly the only redeeming quality. We were told to seat ourselves then waited about 15 minutes to be served, the food was flavorless, our server had an attitude the whole time and treated us as an afterthought until she abandoned us, the guy that got us the checks was very friendly. I can tell why it wasn't very busy

Ordered the Thanksgiving Bites which was their specialty. Almost inedible. Super dry and gravy had zero flavor. We ordered the kids menu chicken tenders and fries. Burnt to a crisp. Could not serve to our son. My wife got the nachos and got sick after eating them.

My mother and sister and I each had a shrimp cocktail that was perfect. And I also had a French onion soup. That was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxing.

It was fine.....The prices for the area were a bit steep and needs to pick up the liveliness. Service was exceedingly slow for the amount of people in the restaurant. The food looked good when it came out.

Very slow service. Food was supposed to be beer battered but all you could taste was grease. Flatbread was much better than the fish. Beer was lukewarm at best. Was very disappointed!

A local Gem. We passed by this place for years not knowing it was there. What a mistake for not stopping in sooner. My wife and I thought all the parking lot traffic was for the pizza place. WOW, a tavern with a friendly, personal owner and a staff to match. They have home made , fresh made food every day. Right down to grinding their own meet for fresh hamburgers. The flatbread pizza was awesome. They have live music on Friday nights and Trivia twice a month. We are going back Friday to enjoy good food and live music. It will become a regular spot for us. This location is extremely affordable. The cocktails were excellent. Service was quick and fast, but I'm surprised they just brought the check and didn't ask if we wanted another cocktail or any dessert. Maybe training needed on the server. The manager dropped by and asked how we enjoyed everything. The Chicken Parm was OK. Not sure what was missing, but not really the best I've had. The fish in the fish and chips was pretty bland and a small portion of fish that I've ever experienced. They left the fish in the fryer a little too long but overall, I would return especially for the cocktails. Overall, that was a comfortable location and seem to be the place to meet in town.

We stopped in here after a day at the park. The service was great and the food was just OK. In a pinch. I'd recommend this place, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

First time here and we're sorry we didn't frequent earlier! We live 5 minutes away and met up with a friend from work. Bartender Stacy was super attentive and was amazing at her job. We ordered wings and a few more snacks and they were great! Loved being able to play quick draw. We will be back for sure. Excellent beers on tap as well.

I grew up in Queensbury and have always wanted a go-to restaurant on this side of town. Now I live out of town, but whenever I come back, I'm always thankful to be able to come here for a great meal and that old home town feel. I just ordered their new "Fried Chicken Sandwich" and I'm not kidding when I say it was one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Their fries were also seasoned and cooked perfectly. That, along with my fiddlehead IPA was extremely enjoyable. Every time I've been here, the bartenders have been so friendly and helpful with suggestions. John, one of the owners, always makes a point to make sure we're satisfied whenever I'm here and I can really tell the owners care about you feeling at home. Definitely recommend coming through for a lunch or dinner that won't disappoint.

Doesn't even deserve one star. Stopped in for dinner, my husband had the haddock and got food poisoning, and it ruined our vacation. The Mac and Cheese came right out a kraft instant cup. Do not recommend, very disappointed!!!!

Waitress was nice, New but very nice. New prolly because the food not the best we ever ate. 3 of us were the only ones in there on a Saturday night. @ 8:00pm. The wings were pretty decent. After reading some of the other reviews I've come to the conclusion that. The cook must've been off their game the night we were there. We'll try it again another time.

I have always gone here for the wings but after today I will be looking for a new place to get wings, they were over cooked and very dry, sent them back and a new order was brought out and they were the same and waitress had such an attitude and said " what do you mean they are overcooked everyone loves our wings, you are the first person that didn't like them"

Never great but convenient little pub. Friendly staff. Decent selection of draft beer and pub grub.

I have lived in this area for over 15 years and been around here my whole life! I've NEVER been to the Tavern, only because I didn't know it was there, but Man I was MISSING OUT!!! I have been twice in the past week and I plan on going again, again and again! The food is EXCELLENT, at least the days I went in Wednesday and Sunday early evenings! The menu is to die for. They literally have EVERYTHING under the sun! I'm telling you if you don't go you are missing out! The staff is SUPER friendly and always there to help each other out, and I loved seeing that! I've been in the restaurant business my whole life and let me tell you this place is one restaurant I will go to over and over again! Great atmosphere also! Just AMAZING!

Great place! They rolled out the red carpet for us here! Group of 7 out of towers and you would think we were regulars! Wes was our server and she was fantastic. Food was really good, haddock, salmon and burgers were all good. Also did the Thanksgiving bites as an app- yummy! Also had live acoustic music, mostly 70's rock with some other good tunes in there. Would recommend this place if you want a good meal in a good atmosphere!

I grew up going to Sokol's Market for candy and milk, and was disappointed when they closed. But when I found out they're now running The Tavern, I was psyched to try it! Boyfriend and I were in town for the holidays and stopped by for a drink while my parents were having a piano moved out of their house (ain't nobody got time for that). I ordered the Davidson Brother's IPA (holla, local beer!) and he got a Jack and Coke. Now, not only were both drinks $1 off on happy hour, but his Jack and Coke was in a PINT glass, and strong as anything I'd make at home! Maybe stronger! We shared a basket of mozz sticks, too, which were done perfectly with some tasty marinara to top it off. The service was quick and friendly, and it felt great to be patronizing a place right in my hometown, owned by folks in my hometown. We'll be back for more next time we're in town, for sure.

The bartender, whose name rhymes with Smashley, was unattentive & made a drink that was lousy; I took one sip & was done. We order onion rings & wings to eat while we were there & the Hawaiian Chicken & Black & Blue Steak Tips to go. The wings were soggy, the onion rings were burnt & we had to ask them to cook more; they were still burnt. The Hawaiian Chicken was also burnt & dry. The Black & Blue Steak Tips looked like death & they were dry as well. The fries that came with the two dishes were just as bad as the onion rings. We will NEVER go there again. Gross!!!

Fun atmosphere! Great food for a reasonable price and they have live music sometimes too!

My girl friends and I just came for dessert. I can't tell you how impressed I was with the service though. The waitress was so friendly and attentive! From my other experiences here the food has always been great and exceptional service. Thank you for being so great to your customers!

I absolutely love the classy casual atmosphere here the food is always good and drinks are always cold and the help is what I consider my friends they are always friendly and helpful they always make sure I am comfortable in every way by far my favorite place to be and meet friends happy hour 3-6 prices are unbeatable my $3 blue moon Draft and $7.95 jumbo wings on monday during happy hour left me more than satisfied

I had lunch here with my Mom today. This was my second visit, her first. I came back because I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago and had a good experience. Mom lives near The Tavern, but she had never been. On both visits the interactions with the staff were quite pleasant. Service was prompt and courteous. Today I had a nice chat with our server about the food. Mom had the Rachel. She said it was the best she has ever had. I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. I don't know if it was the best I have ever had, but it was very good. I ordered the Hot Buffalo sauce and it was nice and spicy, but not so hot that I couldn't taste the chicken and the vegetables in the wrap. The sauce was just right for me. Those things might have typically earned a 4 Star rating. What put this particular lunch at 5 Stars was the Sweet Potato Fries. I love Sweet Potato Fries, when they are done right. And by "done right" I mean crispy. Most places that I have tried leave them limp - almost to the point of being mushy. These were nice and crisp, the way they should be. I mentioned that to our server and she said that she felt the same way. I felt a little bad because other than us there was only one table occupied. We got there just before noon. And the weather was pretty miserable - heavy rain and thunderstorms on and off all morning with more of the same predicted for the afternoon. I hope that is what kept people away. This place deserves to have much larger crowds. On my previous visit it was a bit busier, so I hope it was just the weather today.

Ate there twice and both times food was fair to poor. I was looking forward to the spiedies, but the chicken was dry, tasteless and was a small portion. Second visit, I ordered the garden salad with grouper. The grouper was cold and unseasoned and I sent it back for a hot piece. The tiny portion was returned obviously slightly microwaved and now only lukewarm and dry. Salad greens were fresh. Others in my group said the chili was OK, grilled chicken sandwich nothing special. Overall service was very slow and inattentive both visits. Pleasant decor and nice bar and lots of things if local interest on the walls. No one in my group on both visits was impressed. In asking around, no one else I know who tried The Tavern was happy enough to consider returning except for Happy Hour drinks.

The worst experience. Bad food and service on 7/20/16 . Had to send back our meal and it came back a little better . Still not good . The bartender was to busy hitting on guys than tending bar. I've ate there a year ago . Food was great . Not sure what happened. I won't eat there again. I advise people go to talk of the town or Harvist . Same price and better food or make it yourself.

Suggest they taste their own food. Parm Chicken wings with shaved parm cheese only - no parm sauce so very bland. Shaved cheese rolls off... Chicken nachos were very simple and nothing special, had to hunt for the chicken. Chicken sandwich way over cooked - almost black but was ok - didn't taste burnt. Fries were ok. Service was fast and friendly. They need to think about the taste of their food if they want to succeed.

Great place for a meal, or to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night, with live acoustic music and great drinks and beer. The menu has a good selection of bar fare, along with a more sophisticated dinner menu and specials. Kid friendly during dinner hours.

My wife went for an early dinner last night.the atmosphere was very nice. We shared onion rings that were too greasy. My wife had a salad with steak which she said was wonderful and I a Fish and chips. Unlike the onion rings the fish and chips were cooked to perfection. The service was excellent for that time of night. As we were leaving around 7:00 the place was filling up nicely with mostly family's. At that point I was thinking that they may have been a little under staffed. (That is speculation) I would definitely recommend going there.

Jamie kicks ass! Great food and waitress! We were out of towners looking for a good meal and hang out for a while and listened to live entertainment! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good atmosphere with good food!

Love this place a great local place to hang out at after work, or with friends on the north side of queensbury. The food is very good for a pub with flatbreads and specials if you want something light and solid entrees everyday ( even after the pretzel burgers ended) with a great drink selection on tap for bringing out the crew in a relaxed setting out after work wirh a growing crew of regulars or a rowdy saturdays for the boys.

Great beer, scotch eggs, pulled pork sliders, steak and fries. Would return again for sure

At first, when i laid my eyes upon the menu i was delighted with the choices and variety. The food was disappointing. My salad was not anything close to a salad. The food made all my friends and I sick. Not good sis

Had the Hawaiian Flatbread. Meh. It was a little underdone, and the ham looked like slices of ham you buy at the deli. My side salad was good, and the Cucumber Wasabi dressing was good. Limited craft beer selection, they had a local IPA on that was sub par. Very average overall experience.

I've been several times with my young children, and for Happy Hour with my friends. I have had their hamburgers, calamari, flat bread, and salads. I have been very happy with my food, the service, and the atmosphere. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is friendly. I am not originally from the area, but I appreciate the local decor and memorabilia. We will return!!!!

Good intentions but bad execution. Very inconsistent food quality. A disappointing experience. Burgers over cooked, soggy flat bread.pizza. wish it was better.

We stopped by the tavern after my boys baseball game, the boys still had their baseball uniform on, and when we ordered the waitress told us that the boys would get 50% of there meal for still having the uniform on. Awesome! Who doesn't like to save money. Also they just put out there new menu...the food is some of the best around. I just wanted everyone to know that they should save running home to cook after those busy night of sports with the kids and let someone else do the work. Enjoy the tavern!

I had been wanting to try The Tavern after driving past a full parking lot on a few occasions. We ate there on a Saturday evening and there was one other table and a few people at the bar. I was surprised to see how large the restaurant is inside. It looked clean and your average ADK bar. The menu looked good as well and had enough variety to suit plenty of people. I opted for the special of the night buffalo chicken nachos, my mother had a burger with grilled pineapple, and my husband had garlic parm wings. Not one of us was happy with our food. The nachos were cheap tortillas with buffalo chicken dip scattered across - not at all what I was expecting from restaurant nachos. I could have made better at home. The burger was over cooked. The wings were covered in garlic and then had some parmesan shavings on top. Despite the lack of customers, service was very slow and the waitress seemed confused. Very disappointing and will not be back.

I went with my husband to watch football and have a few beers and dinner. Service was ok but the food was the worst meal I have ever eaten. Another diner sent back dessert and was told by the bartender that its usually good maybe it had set out all weekend. Its prepackaged food cooked poorly. I will never return. Clearly I'm not the only one check out their facebook page.

Meh, I've given this place multiple opportunities but every time it's something. Soup that's not hot, slow service, dirty silverware, etc... I can't recommend this place and I think I've given it its last chance, definitely not returning for a third disappointment.

This is a great place!! Nice hometown restaurant with excellent food!! Turkey club, veggie wraps, main dishes and appetizers are all great.

The best mussels I've ever had, absolutely amazing !! Real super friendly establishment, down to earth. Their flat bread pizza is to die for and the service is impeccable for the price you pay. We love this place, it's a rare fine.
