Tavern on Main

We were visiting family in El Segundo, had traveled from GA. We decided to eat here this past Friday night, thankfully it wasn’t as crazy busy as I was expecting so we didn’t have to deal with a noisy tavern. There was one little miscommunication about the root beer float I ordered and so it took a good while for it to arrive, but as the picture shows, it was an amazing root beer float!!! Well worth the $7!! Our loaded nachos were delicious! I enjoyed my chicken pesto sandwich, the chicken was moist and easy to chew so I was a happy camper! My bf said his burger was amazing! If we go visit El Segundo again, we’ll definitely visit this tavern again!!! Thank you for making our dinner delicious!! And everyone should order a root beer float from you guys! It was so worth the wait!!!

Great location for bar eats. Food is memorable. Atmosphere very cozy on the patio. Friendly staff. Great beer selection. I had "the Philly scramble" and a glass of orange ave. wheat beer. It was tastefull and it was close tasting to a blue moon. But, I finished my meal with a large mug modelo. Tasteful cauliflower bites with Buffalo and Ranch dipping sauces. They are very generous with the Philly steak in the Philly scramble. Very good. Good location for a quick bite an a beer. I'll be back.

I liked this casual sporty bar and I would not hold it against them that they are an “Eagles” bar! lol! Great happy hour with nice beer and snack options. Nothing like a big 24oz beer for $10 in the Gundo! The happy hour boneless wings were only $5, but they were very unremarkable. The Daou cab sav was great, but for $15 a glass. The place is very dog friendly which may make you more or less happy about that element. Our server, was an efficient and precocious lass named KarenM, and we quite enjoyed our brief chat with her. I live about 10 minutes away and have been coming here off and on for 3 years. This is the perfect neighborhood bar with great Happy Hour specials. The food is always hot and well made, the beer is always cold, the drinks are stiff, and the service is friendly and prompt. It's also a great place to catch a game without being suffocated by other people.

Went today to have a nice lunch and I can say that our waitress was 100% outstanding and the young lady that took my order at the bar was great...but the older dude with the beard, don't know if owner or just manager, needs to keep that scowl off of his face. It's a complete turnoff to see that when he is supposed to be the main face of the business. Would I return? Yes I would but keep that guy away from customers.

Atmosphere was what you would expect from a sports bar. Visiting from out of town, we sat at the bar promptly greeted by a bartender. Service was fine, the food was exceptional. Not above what you would expect from your typical Bar. The bartender recommended that we have the quesadilla as an appetizer, and we were certainly not disappointed. my wife had the BLTA it was huge and quite good. I have the devil’s Philly. It was also not disappointed. The soup was beef barley, which was probably the highlight of the meal. If you’re in the area, you should definitely give them a shot.

Nice, hometown tavern/pub with a lot of locals hanging out. Good food with a decent selection of different items. Everyone should be able to find something they would like. It's not fancy, looks like a well-worn establishment, kind of like a tavern should look. Full bar, lots of TVs 📺 for sporting events. Owners must be from Philly as there is a lot of Eagles paraphernalia about. I go about once a month for lunch. Good burger 🍔 and tots 😋. Also, they are part of the American Airlines Dining program, so I get miles too! Also, a nice bonus. Give it a try and...enjoy!

Other than the general manager storming around behind the bar THE ENTIRE TIME we were there, making surly remarks to the other wait staff (who were absolutely a joy to interact with btw), and being a general bummer with his energy, this place was on point so I'll still give it 5 stars overall. But Xavier needs to seriously re-evaluate his priorities when it comes to the vibe he puts out into the world. Regardless of what goes on in the managerial portion of food/drink service, there is ZERO reason for me as a patron sitting at the bar trying to enjoy my Friday night would need to wonder what the heck must be going so terribly wrong that the gm needs to be out front looking like an absolute curmudgeon while the rest of staff were utterly wonderful and had the most charming demeanor. Xavier, do better! The rest of experience was fantastic, from the great happy hour drinks and bites to the friendly and interactive bartenders, we will definitely consider coming back here, but only if the general manager can manage to at least keep his unpleasant attitude behind closed doors instead of clouding the atmosphere with his muttering and scowling.

I went there today for the first time after living here for nearly 6 years and boy was I missing out! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and it had a good vibe to it. I'd been looking for a place with good fish and chips forever and finally found it. Plus, they have bomb root beer floats.

This is a nice locale to watch a game. I came here to enjoy Team USA bring home the gold in men's basketball and was pleasantly surprised by how quaint it felt, as if I walked into an episode of "Cheers" (some of you may be too young to understand that reference but that's okay). There are plenty of TVs and for LA, the drinks are moderately priced.I was happy that it was full of sports fans who were actually there to watch the game, so it wasn't too packed or noisy. It felt like you were watching the game with some of your best friends who you've just met. Didn't eat anything so unfortunately can't give you an update on the food but the drinks were great and the service was fairly speedy too.

A favorite spot. Employees are always pleasant and even when busy, they work hard and maintain a pleasant demeanor. Karen is excellent. Pretty good bar food and a good happy hour. I'm a Cowboys fan and I like this Eagles bar.

This may be a good bar, but I can say that in my opinion this was not a bar to watch football! I walked in on a Sunday in maybe week 13 of the 2024 NFL season and it looked like people were watching paint dry inside. Nobody was rude, no complaints about service. It was dark and dreary so I went up the street to Rock n brews. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tavern on Main is a solid spot for late night bites or a drink. It's great because it's open later than a lot of the places around on weekdats and their kitchen stays open till 11. The service is fast and friendly, and the ambiance is that of a nice and cozy local bar. I highly recommend the grilled cheese with tater tots and the buffalo cauliflower! The nachos are not bad either, but the other two stole the show, pretty good for bar food. Food:4.25/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Value: 4/5 Overall: 4/5

Couldn't recommend the Tavern anymore than I already do. Everyone who works there rocks. Friendly, welcoming, and just a delight. Maybe I'm bias cause I'm a regular but I don't think I would have become a regular if they sucked right? 2 for 1 burgers on Tuesday, yep. My fave is the Tommy burger. Fries are always on point. Everything on the menu is good. Great happy hour prices til 6. It's cool, it's chill, and there tv's for sports. Should have reviewed them sooner!

Friendly neighborhood pub! Food was great (I had the boneless wings and the portion was generous), delicious drinks and wonderful barstaff. Parking can be tricky when it's busy but on the random Tuesday evening I stopped here it was not awful. Really reasonable prices and close to the airport if you want to stop for a meal/beverage before heading there. I wish there were more establishments like this one in all of California.

I went on a football night so it was crowded and noisy but fun! I would absolutely go here again next time I'm in the area! I split the burger special with my friend and wished I'd ordered it just for myself! Burger was delicious. Also ordered the tacos which were just at average. They had my favorite beer which was a big plus!

Service, Food and Drinks were great. Yoshie was our server and did a marvelous job for not being at this establishment long. Her recommendations were spot on and her attention to detail was phenomenal. By the time she punched our order the drinks were hand delivered by the owner, unbelievable. The burger was superb as was the grilled cheese. We will definitely return.

I kind of don't want to review this place as I feel it's still a hidden gem in the South Bay. Been coming on and off for years and we recently discovered it again as 'Gundo is a hip and happening area for all that the beach cities have to offer. Their burger is freshly made which is our go to for a dinner or lunch. We enjoy their Happy Hour nachos to share as it's a decent size with all the fixings. HH prices are still a welcome great value after inflation doesn't seem to stop around the world. The service is always friendly and prompt. Locals seem to know all the staff which gives the city its Mayberry type feel. We now choose this place over Rock n Brews as that chain has slipped since the pandemic and their prices escalate towards $20 plates. Really appreciate how ToM has kept a good thing going and take care of all who dine there.

It's always a good time at the Tavern. Came on Sunday to watch football and they have many TVs here to watch every game. It's an Eagles bar, but they show all of the games. Waitresses are always friendly and attentive. Very casual atmosphere. Food is pretty average, not the best but not horrible. Good as far as bar food goes. I tried the chilaquiles this time and it was basically cheese nachos with eggs and very little sauce. But we come here mainly for the drinks and good time.

Best Bar on Main Street! The food is amazing. I highly recommend the Chicago Dog and the wings and fried pickle are a must. Great beer selection and the bartenders know what they are doing. Perfect place to watch a game or hang and play some pool.

Soooooo to be honest, we came to see a friends band preform. Y'all may know I don't drink, so I can't rate the beverages, however, I can tell you about the two appetizers we tried. The gal that took our order was extremely friendly and our order came out fairly quickly. I choose the shishito peppers and my BF ordered the fried pickles. Both choices were actually VERY good. The entertainment was also quite nice. Nice way of winding down this Sunday afternoon. If your in the area, want to catch a game and a drinky drink, most definitely stop by the Tavern on Main. ADD ON: I could not NOT mention the very much appreciated hooks for our bags.

Richard is the bomb he works the bar and the tables. Great personality greeting everyone with a great attitude. Takes 5 orders at once taking care of business. His one liners are great and always has a positive attitude. Always knows his regular customers drinks.

Great sports bar!!! This is a Lions bar and I love it!!! Great people abd great service!!! That equals a fantastic time!!!!

Good music, free pool and darts, great staff, and the best darn pretzels this side of the Arkansas!

Everything is great. First and foremost is the waitstaff. Attentive and great customer service. Down home always noting their name. Happy Hour food YES I want to return and try many more items on the menu. Bonus... reasonably priced.

I was working nights near by and thought I would give this place a try. Both myself and a co worker has the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It was flavorful and the sandwich was loaded with perfectly cooked steak that had a perfect texture. I would definitely eat there again.

Awesome little spot, not far from LAX. Locals bar, with friendly staff, big cold beers, and a menu that looked awesome. I wasn't starving so I ordered the nachos, which were... nachos... not bad, not great... no fault of the establishment! I will definitely return.

I stopped by the Tavern on main with my partner in crime for a late night hangout. The tavern is big and spacious with two different sides of seating on each side of the bar plus outside seating in front of the tavern. This place has a very cool, diverse crowd. Definitely was a friendly vibe. The drink I ordered wasn't very strong. In fact, they were a little weak. I did ask for a shot with a coke on the side, and that seemed to work better. We ordered the carnitas Tavern Nachos, buffalo wings, and carnitas tacos. The nachos rocked and had plenty of toppings for every single chip. The wings were amazing, and the Buffalo sauce was on point. The tacos were good, but they lacked toppings, and we ordered the mango sauce and, unfortunately we did not taste anything with mango. After all that, we ordered two root beer floats, and these freaking floats are "HUGE" and taste so good, and they come in giant beer mugs. The prices are reasonable and fair, especially for the food. The parking is tight, but they have plenty of parking right around the corner (free parking). The staff is super cool and friendly and pay attention to your table without bugging you shout out to Diana. We had a great time and will be back soon.

Even though it was a busy night when we came the service was quick as was the food. Everything tasted amazing and the happy hour here is both delicious and a great deal. Would highly recommend to anyone in the El Segundo area.

Nice lunch on a Saturday afternoon with my 12 year old. He enjoyed the chicken tenders and my tuna salad was really good! Reasonable prices! Service was excellent.

DO NOT COME HERE!!!! My friend didn't tip because all they did was pour a beer and the manager came over and IDed all of us. This place sucks and does not take into account the clientele that comes in which consists of students who don't have much money. Very rude

Tavern on main is our go-to spot! The $5 tribute burgers are without question the best pub burgers in the South Bay. Best of all they serve NEFT Vodka, which is the best I've ever tasted.

Nice place ... small but nice. Good drink and music . Parking sucked but it was ok for first time . Not sure I'll go again to be honest .. the distance is a ways. Cool if you live in area . Didn't have food just drinks not sure they served food

Worst service on the planet. Rude, like legitimately rude and bizarre bartenders. Fried pickles suck. I f***** hate this place I have no idea why I came back. Literally the prerequisite to work here is to be completely not cut out for the service industry. Don't waste your time!

This place has the worst service ever ! We got kicked out by the so calls manager with the braids We we're not loud or anything. I know the service here has always been bad. Everyone says it service sooo bad. We did nothing wrong. ! She said she was a acting manager chewing on her gum. We will never go back. Like many people. Standard station is the best service.

Five stars all day long. I'm in town for business and decided to give the tavern a go. Yes I could have gone next door to the rock and brews. But, I'm not into flash. I like a good hometown tavern that appreciates their customers. Ordered the wings and for $10 a pound? You had me at hello!! Great food, fun place with all locals. Do yourself the favor and try a place that knows the value of your business!!! I'll be back!!

Went for dinner last night, they were super busy, but the service was impeccable and they poured me a mega pint of wine while we waited for our food. Great vibe all around. I had the Chicken Kale salad and the pretzel. The salad was delicious and I finished the whole pretzel myself..so good. Be patient with the staff folks, they are there for us, and doing their very best!

Love this place. Probably the best happy hour in El Segundo. Great food and drinks. Love the boneless chicken wings and the nachos. Great service and atmosphere.

Love this place. Great place to go with friends or family. Service is fast and food is good. Lots of TV's for games and the bartenders are happy to change them if requested by a few people. Can't wait to go back!

There are lots of pet-friendly pubs & restaurants in the LA area. This is not necessarily one of them. The online listing says "pets allowed", but only on the patio; which is fine, except if you have to use the restroom. Your pet needs to stay outside, unattended. And the server I asked was quite unfriendly about that fact: "What? Your dog can't stay outside?" No, ma'am, she cannot; not alone, surrounded by strangers.

Nice spot, good service and top UFC fight on tap. Can't get no better!! I'm glad I found it online and will be back again!! The place also had a relaxed feel and was not crowded without the reek of smoke! Definitely recommend the place!!

Really great place to eat good food and favor- Puled pork sandwiches or great. A lot of the customers are hard to have a conversation with. ‍‍‍‍ like what.

Fantastic local spot with great service, wide selection of beers and vegan friendly menu! Tiffany was so friendly to us on Saturday, we returned on Sunday for a beer! Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I've been coming to this place for years now, and I can't recommend it enough. The staff is super friendly. Tiffany is such an amazing bartender...so kind and engaging with everyone. They're all great, but had to give her a special shout out. The food is really good...burgers, cauliflower bites, etc. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose. The happy hour prices are awesome as well. I refer all of my friends to this place, and I affectionately refer to it as "Cheers"...where everybody knows your name. Thanks Tavern staff for making my experience warm and welcoming every time I walk in there.

Great local bar with an Irish/ East Coast vibe. Beer is always cold and wine is always fresh. Love the nachos, Buffalo cauliflower, Buffalo chicken sliders and great vegetarian and vegan options! I am personally a vegetarian and love the vegetarian meatball sub. Love to come on Sundays to watch games. They also have a huge outdoor seating area since COVID. They also have Happy Hour specials! Came here for Super Bowl and had a great time as well. Good crowd.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!! Everyone here that we dealt with was in a pissy mood. We were there for 2 hours and nobody was polite or smiled once. Their drinks are weak on top of the grumpy workers. The place was almost empty so it looks like people are already avoiding this place. The manager was loudly arguing with a group of customers and even threatened to fight one of them outside. He told him when he was off work so they could fight. He couldn't have been any more unprofessional. His actions were a big part of this bad review. It might be time for the owners to rethink their business plan and hire some workers that have better, more professional attitudes. With so many bars within walking distance, this is one that you need to walk past. So many places have a reason they are special. This place has so many reason on why you shouldn't go here

Great great service!!! Drinks were decent and the food was great as well! Our server (Keith might have been his name?) was absolutely awesome--very kind and attentive!! Our group had a great experience here and will definitely be back.

I went here for a group party and the service was outstanding. Thin crowd for a Saturday afternoon, I thought ; mostly local. The chicken tenders and wings were good, as was the orange hefavizen. It's pretty nice and welcoming inside. I had a Philly cheese steak sandwich which was a 6 out of 10 + the worst coleslaw I've ever had, and I don't know if it was because they forgot something or what. Their margaritas are big and a 4--6 out of 10. I suggest you stick with the beer. Overall, a pleasant place. The band started to set up at 7 or 8 asnd wee hadd to move to a new spot. We did not stay for the music, but the musicians were nice and I'm sure they pleased the crowd.
