The Tea Smith has an amazing selection of high quality teas. The staff is always very friendly and willing to offer advice on loose tea and tea to go. The shop has not only tea but anything you could desire or need for your tea making needs. The Tea Smith is the shop that got me into tea and away from sodas and energy drinks. Great local shop and I am a forever fan!

Visited this little tea house last weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, perfect for reading or just hanging out. I tried their chai latte, and it was flavorful without being too sweet, which I really appreciated. Service was friendly, though a bit slow during the afternoon rush, but nothing too bothersome. Prices are reasonable for the quality, and they have a nice selection of loose-leaf teas if you want something different. Overall, a solid spot to unwind or catch up with a friend over a warm drink. I’d probably come back next time I’m in the area.

The Tea Smith is the one stop shop for the best tea in Omaha. They offer such a plethora of tea and matcha options that are so good. They also offer lots of cute tea accessories and pots among other things. I have had so many teas I’ve come to love and have been obsessed with their matcha mango madness smoothie ever since I tried it! Everyone there is so kind and the customer service is always great. Highly recommend to anyone looking for good tea!

Wonderful tea and wonderful service. I went in and let the staff know that I wanted green tea but wasn’t sure what I was looking for to pick a specific one. They explained some things to me and got me a tea that was essentially exactly what I wanted, before I knew it was exactly what I wanted. I’m quite happy with the tea and it was so nice to have a pleasant experience thanks to the customer service. Will be returning for all tea needs!

The tea is incredible. Absolutely worth it but I noticed there were products made with AI in their store. Specifically some coasters. I'm highly disappointed because I thought this was a store with integrity. Hopefully they chose to swap these out and choose to support real artists in the future.

The tea was good. The lemon poppyseed ...I think it was poppyseed ..scone tasted like dry cornbread. I was there a long time with a friend and we didn't get more water for our tea pot until right before we left. Maybe we were supposed to go ask for more water?

What a gorgeous tea shop! There is plenty of seating, free wifi, and good vibes! Definitely a good place to go if you want a quiet study place. We had wonderful service from the man behind the counter, he was very knowledgeable about all the teas and helped us pick the best bag of tea! The butterfly tea was lovely, it was layered just right! The prices for loose tea are the best in town, if you like to try different loose leaf's this is the place to go!!!

I loved it! I went in for drinks, and was in awe of the huge selection of tea items and accessories. Everything was so pretty and unique. They had a great selection of teas and drinks to choose from. I loved that they had honeydew milk bubble tea. I haven't been able to find one in years and they perfected it. The staff was nice and greeted me when I walked in.

This is always a calming place for me and a great place to get work done. I love their hot cinnamon sensation tea and love perusing the Goodwill nearby for kid toys. The tables are large and you can order a whole pot of tea if you like. They also have lots of gifts and loose leaf tea available for purchase for unique gifts. The wifi is dependable and plenty of outlets are available. There are so many different tea options to try and the staff is so helpful about giving recommendations-- really a great option if you are looking to cut down on or limit your caffeine!

I LOVE the Tea Smith! Every time I go in I get a smile and great service. The staff is trained and can actually answer questions about tea...What a concept! They can reccommend based your tastes, and even suggest a gift for the tea drinkers in your life. Every time They have the best Earl Grey de la creme, I have ever had, and they are the best source I have found for several difficult to find teas. So many choices so little time. If you are a die hard coffee drinker, try a couple of the darker, full bodied teas, like a Pu'erh ( a fermented tea- try the organic one). They will also give you instructions on how to prepare it so you get the most out of your tea. The store is clean and inviting, more so now that they have added a couple cozy chairs.

I love the atmosphere here. There are a few cozy tables if you want to sit and enjoy a cup, but I've also always found the staff very helpful for when I don't know what to buy. I usually get one of their sweet teas, like a Thai tea. Sometimes they are a bit too sweet but usually very yummy.

Great selection of teas and accessories from what I saw. Ordered an oat milk matcha latte. Price was good, but the latte was the worst one I've ever had. Watching them make my drink, I saw them top of the latte with water instead of oat milk. Not how I've ever seen a latte made. Service was incredibly slow and it wasn't busy. The barista at least apologized for it taking so long.

I always love going to The Tea Smith and today I was able to visit again. It was an exceptional experience as usual. Michaela took care of my order and offered some wonderful suggestions. I was totally impressed with her knowledge, friendliness and helpfulness. She also made me a perfect cuppa of Ceylon Star that I took with me and enjoyed every sip of it as I ran my errands.

My little boys and I love coming to The Tea Smith for a special boba treat--it's easily the best in Omaha. The tea is super high quality, not overly sweet, and way better than any of the chain spots. The vibe is calm, welcoming, and refreshingly unpretentious. The owner is often around and clearly cares about the place, which shows in the service and attention to detail. If there's ever a mix-up, they fix it with a smile. I've also ordered their loose-leaf teas in bulk for gifts and they're always fresh and nicely packaged. Just a solid, local gem run by good people.

I visited The Tea Smith with my mom, and it was both our first time trying bubble tea with popping boba. I had tried milk tea with regular boba before and hated the tapioca pearls, but I am pleased to say I'm a big popping boba fan now! The tea itself was fantastic. I got the passion fruit bubble tea with mango boba, and it was such a delicious sweet treat. My mom also loved her bubble tea. We did buy a cookie as well, but I would pass on those - ours was so hard my mom joked that her teeth were going to crack. The location itself is spacious, clean, and inviting, and the staff were so sweet and helpful for us newbies. This was definitely worth the drive from West O, and I will be back for more tea soon!

I loved my first visit to the Tea Smith! Katie was very friendly and helpful with insight on which teas would be best for me! Even with a line of people at peak lunchtime, every worker was courteous and attentive and got us through quickly. I will definitely be back!

Love the coconut milk tea with tapioca. Literally addicted. Super friendly staff. They make the drinks so fast and are always in a good mood.

I'm having a hard time understanding why I have yet to write a review about this little gem of a place. The Tea Smith is in a great area with ample parking and pretty easy to get to location. BUT, unless you know it's there or happen upon it while visiting their neighbors it could be easy to overlook. Once inside you already have a sense of peace and calm by the layout of the store. There are so many different teas and products for tea they have from simple to cute. They also carry a vast variety of teas from loose leaf to bagged teas you can choose from. My boyfriend loves tea and when we last visited he took his time getting to know some of the teas they had available and what types of teas they have behind their counter. One of the ladies helped answer his question and recommended a boxed set with a nice variety of six different loose leaf teas he could try. Each one is from a different part of the world with different flavors. So far so good!! We also tried one of their energy teas they make there and it was tasty and bubbly! We definitely enjoyed that!! They also sell yummy pastries we didn't get to try on this trip but perhaps next time around. If you enjoy having a hot cup of tea or you just wish to change it up from your coffee routine I highly suggest checking out The Tea Smith to discover the wonderful world of tea!

We love this place so much! We will spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon there just enjoying one of their selections from their voluminous collections of teas and food items while chatting with their amazing staff. It just brightens up our week. The atmosphere is so friendly and gracious, and when I go to purchase tea to take home, they make sure to inform me how to best brew it. Heck, each bag of tea has explicit instructions and information on it about that specific tea, so for a change I actually know what it is that makes it so special. I so appreciate the care this store puts into their service.

Been a customer of Tea Smith since 2011! They're such a great part of the Omaha community, often hosting events (tea tastings, Caffeine Crawl, collaborations with ice cream shops). The shop is especially a favorite study spot of mine for many reasons: -Large selection of delicious tea which doesn't have the "caffeine crash" that coffee gives me -Calming, tidy, and bright environment with lots of plants -Dependable Wifi, plenty of outlets, and comfortable seating -Friendly, knowledgeable staff (who patiently help me deliberate between teas) -Fun gifts and teaware to look at as study break -Free rewards program give you 5% back on purchases -I'm addicted to their matcha butter cups (like a Reese's peanut butter cup except with dark chocolate and matcha) Note: you can find Tea Smith at many local restaurants and shops including Stirnella, Mark's Bistro, Hardee's coffee

Dear Omaha, can you please open a boba tea shop west of 84th street? Please and thank you. I digress. During our most recent quest for boba The Tea Smith was our stop. They have a variety of flavors - lavender, almond, vanilla, chocolate, etc. You could opt for traditional boba or popping fruit jellies. The one thing that threw me off is the milk tea was served as a slushy...that wasn't my fav and wasn't sure if that is their standard serving or I should have been asked. Overall, the flavor, quality and service was great and I was intrigued by the wide variety of their traditional tea offerings as well.

I love the Tea Smith. They cater to my nerd-level interests in tea, pure and simple. The staff is always friendly and willing to answer your questions about the "great wall of tea." Seriously though, where else can I pick up my Second Flush Darjeeling year to year? Or find my tried and true straightforward black tea, Assam Sessa? Or where else can I be introduced to a lemongrass herbal tea with pea leaves that makes an invigorating concoction that is mana potion blue in color? Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, they can't quite offer you the smell test of a new tea like they normally would, but I'd still recommend getting at least something new. They do have small sample sizes you can purchase. It's that variety of high quality loose teas that makes them stand out. It may even come as a surprise to some that different teas need different temperatures for proper brewing. Conveniently, the tea pouches all have marked which temperature is appropriate for the tea it contains. However, knowing the right temperature can be daunting for some. So, here's my suggestion if you don't want to pull out a thermometer every time or don't have a temperature adjustable water heater: A full rolling boil is about 212 degrees. A simmer, where the bubbles are forming but the water isn't roiling, is about 195-200 degrees. Knowing those two things will help you brew most of the teas you'll encounter.

Went here for boba and had a delicious coconut milk tea flavor. This shop is definitely cool and a nice sit in place for studying or gathering with friends. They have lots of tea varieties and also vend items for brewing. Definitely going to come back for more boba in the future!

Out thrifting in the area, a friend and I decided we needed some milk tea. Upon Yelping, we were directed to The Tea Smith to satisfy our boba cravings. The Tea Smith is sandwiched in a busy strip mall. Upon entering, we were greeted by the amazing smell of dried teas. The shop is small but cozy, with the wall behind the cashiers lined with hundreds of tins of various tea strains. The shop also sells mugs, teacups, teapots, and a bevy of other tea accessories. Very cute but super narrow aisle, we were a little nervous walking past all of that china with such a small amount of wiggle room. Thankfully, no accidents! The front counter has digital and printed menus showing the various types of tea available. The bubble and milk tea menu had a decent amount of choices-but no Thai Tea, which is what I was hoping for. I settled for strawberry milk tea with fruit jellies. Our drinks were prepared quickly by a friendly associate. The milk tea had a delicate strawberry flavor, coupled with the chewy and sweet texture of the fruit jellies. It was pretty good! My friend had red bean milk tea with boba. I stole a drink of hers and it was delicious. I've had bubble teas and boba many times, and while The Tea Smith did not have the most authentic or exciting flavors, it's still pretty good. Didn't care too much for the prices ($5.25 for a 24 ounce) but Omaha is notoriously slow at adapting "trends" so when one springs up, the prices are always reflected in that. Will be back if I am in the area.

I saw a great post from The Tea Smith a few weeks ago and decided that one of my new pandemic hobbies will be getting into tea. Why not? I don't know very much about tea but they were so friendly and helpful. They asked me what kind of coffee and foods I like to help pick out the perfect cup for me to try. She suggested a cup of Mango Spice Pu-Erh Chai Tea. This blend contains Pu-erh, almonds, star anise, licorice root, ginger root, mango, and berry flavors. I really enjoyed it! It felt just perfect for a fall day. I'll definitely be back to try more! I especially am interested in one of their tea classes. Also of note, they had excellent covid precautions.

My husband is the tea drinker in our family. I always come here to get him some amazing teas for every special occasion . I have no clue what to get so they always have to help me. They haven't steered me wrong yet. Tim is so helpful. Now my husband has gotten me into their bubble tea. I love it!

I found this wonderful place thanks to a kind employee who found my drivers license at a near by grocery store. I was told to pick up my license at the tea smith and they not only returned it but left me five dollars to buy myself a drink. With all the sadness going on in the world this token of kindness meant so much. Not only that but the place looks amazing and the tea was probably the best I've had from anywhere. I definitely plan on taking my business there in the future

This was the final stop on Omaha's official annual Caffeine Crawl route 3 this year and I'm glad they put a tea spot on the list! The image posted is a strawberry lemonade matcha that was fantastic! They have an entire wall of different teas and flavors and a great store with a ton of options for making tea and storing it. I didn't know this place existed before this crawl and I'm so glad I know now. While coffee will always be my #1, this place will be making a regular appearance in my life from now on! You will not be disappointed if you take the trip here in the near future.

I went to the Tea Smith with a friend the other day and was really happy with the tea I ordered. I don't consume caffeine often, so I love how many choices they have for herbal teas and tisane. I went with the bright berry tisane, which had a nice strong flavor without being overpowering. Perfect for summer...get it iced! My friend got something apricot flavored and it was nice too. Overall I was pleased with the wide selection and pretty reasonable prices for the quality of tea they offer. I enjoy going to specialty places because I usually get great service by the tea or coffee experts that work there. I was expecting a really knowledgeable worker, but didn't really get one. He was kind of awkward and didn't know most of the answers to my questions about their teas. He didn't really help me pick a tea, but just kept telling me his favorite black and white teas--which wasn't a help because I had already told him I wasn't interested in caffeinated teas. He was very slow in getting my order together, and just looked like he needed more training. The darkest spot in this experience was the absolutely filthy floor! The floor at the front of the shop right by the window is very dusty and dirty. When sitting on the right side of the shop, it is very easy to see under the rolling cart with napkins, etc. Don't look! It was literally piled with leaves, dust, dirt, and who knows what. This is definitely not something appetizing to look at. And where were the employees in all of this? Sitting behind the counter texting and chatting away. If I were the proprietor, I'd be miffed. So the two star rating is given for the odd service and the lack of cleanliness inside.

I first found the Tea Smith while getting my nails done at a nearby shop (the name of that shop eludes me..nail tek?) and popped in quickly to grab some caffeine. In the years that followed it became my go to place for bubble tea when missing hawaii, and also a study spot (although as some have mentioned, the internet may be slower than you are used to). I have no major complaints for this place. They have a wide and varied amount of loose leaf teas for purchase by weight and all I have tried have been of exceptional quality and taste. The prices aren't bad for the fact that you can get exactly what you want and the exact amount. The staff is friendly and nice, they even took me once when they had already closed but had not locked the door yet and I didnt notice and walked right in (whoops). Now that I have moved to Philadelphia, I make sure I visit each time Im back in omaha to stock up on specialty teas, because we lack a tea shop of this caliber in my area.

The tea smith is a hidden gem of Omaha, once located downtown in the Old Market, now tucked in a strip mall off 78th and Dodge. If you ever are in the mood for tea, I would highly recommend making a stop to try the tea. The Tea Smith inside has a cool vibe, stone floors and nice wood tables to stimulate conversations or a productive work session. The staff has always been helpful and very friendly, they are enthusiastic to help non tea drinkers like I was to try different types of tea. One of the fruit teas I have I have told to over a dozen people. Also if you get a membership then your previous drinks are saved and you get 10% back. I like to stop by for reasonable prices and great ambiance, highly recommend if you need a break from the plethora of hipster coffee shops with unfriendly batistas.

The baristas are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming, light, and friendly. A great place to sit, relax and enjoy the many teas available. From new featured teas to old Staples, they seem to have it all. My reason for 3 stars is that my "bubble tea" was so sweet and syrupy, it was undrinkable. With bubble tea, they make it straight with no added milk (unlike most places which serve a bubble milk tea- symantics). They do offer bubble milk, but it is then blended and frozen, unlike a traditional bubble milk tea. In the end, ordering bubble tea/milk is not only confusing, it's also undrinkable. I went home and added 1 cup almond milk and was able to dilute it enough to make it drinkable. I wish they knew how to make bubble tea/milk properly since it is such a light and welcoming environment and close proximity to my house.

I love this place! The original (and now only) location was always closest to where I stayed in Omaha when visiting from Lincoln. The service is always great - the staff is so helpful in discussing the teas and letting me sniff! Now obviously this is no Taiwanese boba house, so I would never order bubble tea here. A refreshing glass of iced tea is great! Now that I live outside of Nebraska, I just placed my first order online with the Tea Smith. I was in Nebraska twice this year and bought some new teas to try (Carribbean Breeze, Lemon Chiffon Rooibos), but the ones I love most are Not-So-Plain Vanilla and Almond Biscotti. I ordered these online plus 3 new flavors to sample, including the South of the Border Chocolate tea. I look forward to experimenting with my iced tea maker since I ordered the tea this weekend and I tracked it to my state today already!!!

I had the Raspberry Mint Melody herbal tea, iced, unsweetened, and with boba. The tea was delicious and refreshing - just the right balance of fruity and minty. Even without sweetener added (other than whatever was on the boba), it had a mild sweetness from the raspberry. The boba itself was nice and chewy - not the BEST boba texture I've ever had, but I've had a lot of boba in my life, and I don't have anything to complain about. The person who helped me was super friendly. I didn't need an explanation of what bubble tea was, but I guess it's nice that they didn't assume I knew all about bubble tea solely based on the fact that I'm Asian. The only downside is that I waited until my last day in Omaha to visit, even though I ate lunch in the same strip center the previous two days, as well. The next time I am in Omaha, I will be sure to visit here again! Bonus: I brought my own cup and straw and they were totally accommodating!

I haven't been here in a few years, and I was surprised at how busy the place was on a Saturday afternoon! We browsed the many teapots and accessories for sale before getting in line. They had free samples of the two flavors of the day, which we loved trying! That day they had a caramel tea and a piña colada tea, which were both really good. We got bubble tea and bubble milk and they were both good. I did wish that the menu was a little more explanatory for newbies like ourselves.

We loved our tea tasting experience with Tim Smith. We learned so much and he answered all my questions with enthusiasm. We definitely have a new appreciation for a good quality tea like the ones you'll find at The Tea Smith. Every employee is knowledgeable and can make suggestions based on your tasting profile and desire. We've been enjoying the tea we purchased over the last week and are planning on replenishing soon. I especially like the hibiscus and my husband and I both have been enjoying the roasted Tung Ting Oolong. The Tea Smith makes tea fun and meaningful. I would definitely recommend attending a tasting if you get the chance.

This is just for the bubble teas we ordered. If you're coming here expecting to get some really good bubble tea, I'm afraid to say this is not the place for it. The place is cute and homey and they probably have some high quality loose leaf tea. However, I would not recommend this place for bubble tea. There's wasn't much of a true tea flavor and tasted really watered down. The tapioca balls were just okay as well. Extremely overpriced as well... unfortunately we ended not being able to finish our drinks.... the staff were really nice though, so gave them an extra star

This is one of my favorite places to work in Omaha! They have the friendliest staff and the best matcha latte. Highly recommended.

This is a fun place to come and sample a variety of teas from herbal to rare teas. They also have bubble tea, or boba. The ladies were helpful and knowledgeable in selecting the right tea, and the prices are very reasonable. The iced teas taste delicious on a warm spring day, esp. The ginger peach. They have a fun selection of gifts and mugs. Nice alternative to coffee shops with free wifi.

This Tea Smith location is pretty centrally located in Omaha, which is nice. Expect the same menu and service as the downtown location -- that is friendly staff serving up a variety of hot and cold drinks. Naturally, they have a huge selection of teas. One of their flavored iced teas are perfect on a hot day. Likewise, their warm, sugary drinks hit the spot on cold days. The Tea Smith is also a good spot to grab a gift for the tea-lover in your life. It's also a nice spot to spend a couple hours studying or doing laptop work. Tip: Grab a healthy lunch at nearby Foodies then head here afterwards to digest/relax/work whilst enjoying a bubble tea.

Wow, what a neat little store. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in but I could tell right away that they knew a lot about tea. You can purchase many unique styles and they even had two different types to try while you were in line. One was a passion fruit and the other was a wonderful sweet caramel flavor tea. You can purchase a glass of hot or iced tea and even the ever so unique bubble tea. While you are there they have some very nice tea cups and cast iron tea kettles. These are a little on the pricey side but if you make tea at home a lot then I don't think it's too bad. If you like tea like I do, give this place a shot and try some higher quality tea! You will be glad you did.

The Tea Smith is a lot cheaper and in my opinion a lot better than Teavana. And it's always a plus to support a local business! I'm pretty basic when it comes to teas, English Breakfast is my go to. And I enjoy their honeydew boba tea.

Most of the tea I received has been good. One of them, the Sustenna Estate 2 oz smells moldy and tastes awful. They will not take products back. Will not use this company again. A Andersen

I just experienced the perfect cup of earl grey tea. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and so willing to go the extra mile to get it right. The atmosphere is clean, pleasant and bright adding to the positive experience.

Waited in line then got told to leave the line because I was buying loose leaf tea and wait behind everyone else since they were buying drinks. Don't understand why a store would sell loose leaf tea if they are gonna get mad a people for coming to buy it. I was told to leave the line because they were busy and the lady said "I have a line of people" as if I hadn't waited in that line like everyone else. It took her maybe two minutes to get my tea and either way I was also a paying customer but was treated like an inconvenience. The lady also gave me attitude the entire time and made remarks about me not knowing how to order it. It was my first time in the store and there were no signs saying anything about sizing and pricing for loose leaf tea so I wasn't sure how to order.

I love this shop! The tea selection is amazing and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have super cute gift items and tea accessories. I will definitely be visiting The Tea Smith whenever I'm in Omaha.

I discovered the Tea Smith as a Creighton student and with the help of the staff at the Tea Smith became a loose leaf tea fan. I love that they emphasize tea for the true tea lover and don't just use a bunch of fruity filler to create blends (I'm looking at you Teavana). The staff has opened my eyes to the subtleties in an estate grown Darjeeling, the grassy delight of Japanese greens, and the floral beauty of white tea. Not to mention, they also keep me supplied with all of the requisite teapots, kettles, and accessories I need to keep this habit going. I moved to St. Louis after graduating and now live in DC and the Tea Smith's mail order business keeps me supplied with all of the tea I need. I love this store and recommend it to anyone who is getting into tea or is looking for an alternative to their morning coffee. Keep being great Tea Smith!

The Tea Smith is really a fun place to go. It's very nicely appointed, right down on 78th between Cass and Dodge. THey have a few tables to sit and enjoy your tea, they also have Wi-Fi available for those who want to work/shop ebay while enjoying a cup of tea. They have between over 50 loose teas for purchase, either to take home, or to have them brew you a cup right there in the store. They make a very nice iced tea there as well. You can also get bubble tea, or various chai teas. They also have a nice selection of tea accessories, like pots, infusers, strainers, etc. Check it out sometime, you won't be disappointed.

The bubble tea drinks here are awesome. First off, they don't use the powder, on all the drinks, but instead, your drink actually comes out tasting (and looking) like tea. I'd recommend the lychee bubble tea or honeydew bubble tea with fruit jelly! It's like a snack and a drink all at the same time. You can also choose to have it iced or blended. They also have an amazing selection of dry tea leaves to brew at home, anything ranging from Chinese, Japanese, English, etc. Atmosphere is very relaxing, peaceful, and calm - great for studying or chatting with friends. The products they sell here are unique tea sets, tumblers, mugs, and other novelty gifts which are fun to check out when waiting for your drink. I deducted one star because for being a tea shop, the Thai tea here was disappointing. The first one that was made tasted very watered down - for those who have not had Thai tea, it should taste strong with a little added sweetness from milk or condensed milk. Although it was iced, something just didn't taste right when I tasted it right after receiving it. I brought it back to the counter and the worker offered to make a new one. Again, the drink was super watered down and lacked a strong flavor. I decided just to get a taro bubble tea, and I enjoyed this much more than the Thai tea. Other than that -- good service, bubble teas, and atmosphere.
