I've been wanting to go someplace for a proper tea service for months. We had a beautiful afternoon tea while we were in Ireland, and I've been craving good tea and scones ever since.
Well, about a week ago, I had seen a recommendation for The Tea Terrace on a foodie group I'm in on Facebook, and so I hopped on the website and made a reservation.
We arrived about 10 minutes early to our booking on Friday but were seated right away.
This place is ADORABLE.
It's small, but cozy, with some really cute decorations, and beautiful tea sets. They have tea and sets for sale as well.
We decided on the King's tea to share.
This came with the following:
-One Norwegian salmon finger sandwich
- One turkey bruschetta
- Two English cucumber sandwiches
- One tarragon egg sandwich
- One lingonberry chicken on a cracker
- Fresh crepe with red caviar and sour cream
- Assorted petite desserts and cookies surrounding fresh seasonal fruits
We also opted for the tea tasting option, which allowed us to pick 3 teas to sample at a slight upcharge. Totally worth it.
The food was lovely. Everything tasted fresh and had good flavors.
We also ordered a scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and it was exactly what I've been wanting since October. It took a little while to come out, but when it did, it was piping hot like it had just come out of the oven! I definitely don't mind waiting for fresh treats like this!! (It wasn't a long wait, anyway, maybe 10 minutes? Not bad at all.)
The teas we sampled were the Tea Terrace original, the Earl Grey, and the Thai Chai. All 3 were lovely, distinctive, and flavorful, but our favorite was the earl grey. Lucky for us, they sell their blend, so we took a bag home!
All in all, we had a spectacular visit. Service was polite and friendly without being overbearing. I will absolutely make it a point to come back out here again when I want a nice cup of tea and a cozy ambiance.
Big thank you to the staff for such a great first experience. We will absolutely be back soon!
