The Hit List: New Houston Restaurants To Try Right Now

"While most outdoor tents have sad rental equipment energy, The Tent sparkles. Friend groups at this Mediterranean cafe and hookah lounge eat beef kabob wraps under string lights, puffing clouds of smoke inside personal cabanas or the main tent until as late as 4am. Earlier in the night, the Westchase spot fills with families, so you'll hear the squeals of children on the playground under lively music played on the oud. Bring your friends for gossip, hookah, and mint lemonade slushes that give spearmint gum a run for its money at this alcohol-free lounge. " - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

The 8 Best Hookah Lounges In Houston

"We love The Tent because of its sparkle. Glittering string lights and intricately decorated drapes cover groups eating beef kabob wraps and puffing clouds of smoke. As a self-proclaimed family-friendly spot, this Mediterranean cafe and hookah lounge in Westchase fills with families earlier in the night, but the grown folks can mingle inside personal cabanas or the main tent until 4am. This alcohol-free lounge is the best spot for drinking mint lemonade slushies, sampling dozens of hookah blends, and bringing your friends to gossip under lively music played on the oud. My friend and I went for a late lunch on a Thursday night. The service from the moment we walked in third door was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. The ambience was everything we were hoping for. It is cozy/quaint. We finished our meal with a nice hot glass of tea. I highly recommend it for a date night in the evening. We will be back.

I wanted to try this place as a group of us will gather there to celebrate birthdays. The place was quite empty but it was late in the afternoon. They have free parking which is a plus. I ordered a mint lemonade and a hummus. At $7.99, I find the drink pricey. You're paying for the presentation. It's too sweet. I couldn't finish it. The hummus was ok. I've had better. Unfortunately, the pita bread is not baked there. It's clearly from a bag. Toward the end of my meal, they played Arabic music. Our gathering is next month. I hope the place is not too smokey from the hookah.

The ambiance was great, food was really average, they really need to on it, staff was very welcoming and helpful, but if the food does not satisfy your taste bud everything doesn't really matters

Dining at The Tent was a breath of fresh air. The open spaces and vibrant atmosphere reminds me of being back in the Middle East. Traditional decor and menu were the highlight of our visit. Surprisingly good place to work out of as well and the Internet was fast. Great place to snack and unwind for Shisha fans. Friendly service and courteous staff who took time to explain menu items and recommend their favorites. Looking forward to visiting them again and trying new items.

Update: They have 5 different seating areas to suit all visitor’s preferences. The food quality is going down, The service went down. Limited food selections, and some items are NOT available. Ms. Hind was great. It is a nice place, but they really need to work on the food and service. the waiter should check the food before he brings it to us, it was burnt, I guess he did not care!!!!!!!! 18% service charge is added to your check regardless of the number of people in your party.

We was there yesterday with family of 7 . They served cold food when we ordered they didn’t mention they don’t have hummus as side in my platers but when they brought the food rice was cold I told him he says he will bring some hot rice for all of us together in one dish but when he came back he said we are out of rice and out of hummus instead he brought fries. Also kabobs he served was not like in menu picture all in small pieces we did not have good food or service on this place Don’t go there I don’t recommend any one to go this place also manager was very rude. Bad experience.

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Alkhaimeh. The ambiance was beautiful, creating a nice environment for our group of 11. Each of us ordered a different dish to explore the variety, and we were blown away by the quality of the food. It exceeded our expectations in every way. A special shoutout to ABDULLAH for his exceptional service. He took excellent care of us, was attentive to our needs, and provided valuable recommendations. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-notch service and the best food in town!"

beautiful restaurant, absolutely stunning. decent food. our waitress did not greet us or smile even once, initially I was unsure if she even worked there. she didn't check in on us either. I really didn't care for her service at all whatsoever. there was another employee, a man, who was very kind and checked on us. I would come again and hopefully not have the same waitress. I also wonder if they include a tip on their bill, they didn't say so I added one, they should be upfront about those things. I suspect it's already included because it asked when paying if I wanted to leave 3-7%, which is too low to be the only tip.
