The Terminal Cafe, East Nashville’s Travel-Themed Breakfast and Coffee Hangout, To Close - Eater Nashville

"Popular East Nashville coffee and breakfast/lunch restaurant The Terminal Cafe announced via social media posts that its final day of service will be December 30. Known for daily breakfast offerings from waffles to breakfast sandwiches atop cheddar scones and a vibrant pink bar, the neighborhood cafe owned by Khalil Davis opened in September of 2016 at 733 Porter Road. In the social media posts, Davis cites “ the overwhelming number of places on every corner and cost of paying a living wage while providing a quality product” as a reason for the shutter. Davis continues “We could have cut the quality of our products & people to get by but if you know us at all you know that’s just not us. We have so much love for you all and are beyond thankful for our staff and customers that believed in us and became so much more.” The Terminal Cafe will close after service on December 30." - Delia Jo Ramsey

A true hidden gem. Candy Bacon! Love, love, love this place! The ambiance and owner are magnificent. The food was magnificent! Everything was fresh and brought to us in a timely manner. The place was nice and clean. I'd totally come back. Wish it was closer to me, I'd be a frequent customer.

First off: gluten free waffles! I got the eggs Benedict on a gf waffle. Amazing. The bacon is absolutely incredible. Coffee was bold and smooth. And the staff were so nice and accommodating! This is a gem of a neighborhood cafe and I can’t wait to go back.

Nathan was very welcoming and hospitality the moment I walked into Terminal. The Corned Beef and Hash was amazing and the coffee was pleasantly awakening.

Lovely! McKenzie worked with me to create a keto protein bowl. I didn't even put hot sauce on it because it was so tasty! Super reasonable prices with fancy things like croque madam. Get it while it's hot!

This is a very small and quaint cafe. The staff is incredibly friendly and the space is very clean. However, the space is very small and can feel crowded with only 10 people inside, and I do not think the prices match what you receive. My girlfriend ordered eggs in a basket which come with bacon. It came on plain bread (not even bakery bread, like packaged Bunny bread), and 2 pieces of bacon for $7. I know $7 may sound reasonable, but if I'm at a restaurant I would except bread I wouldn't normally buy for myself and more than 2 small pieces of bacon. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was really good. Overall, I would come back to order an iced coffee if I was passing by, but I would not come here for breakfast again as it is so small and the prices do not match the food you receive, in my opinion.

Friendly, knowledgeable, staff in a low-key setting with great espresso, coffee, and food. Sounds like the perfect cafe combo to me!
