"You don’t normally hear the words “Shrimp har gow” and “Bananas Foster French toast” together in the same sentence, let alone on the same menu, but at The Terrace, you can have the best of both worlds. Located in The Langham hotel in Pasadena, they serve a dim sum brunch on Sundays from 11am-4pm, with a mix of traditional dim sum dishes and Western brunch food." - Kat Hong

Always prefer outside on nice days. Everything was nice. Options offer a nice variety. My food was okay. Nothing exciting. I think I wouldn't order it again. Eggs were over cooked, and the tomato was no flavor. The potatoes were mold flavor too. Not sure if the chef knows seasoning but I'd like to introduce him or her.

This is a special place for our family of four where we celebrate anniversaries and today, Orthodox Easter. Brunch was delicious... many options from omelet station, to fruits, to make-your-own avocado toast, and fluffy waffles. Service was so polite & efficient on a busy Sunday morning. Looking forward to our next visit!

Loved the experience. We sat outside right by the pool. The service can be a bit slow but they were very accommodating. We had the food officer or quality manager personally come check in on how food was. Ordered the French toast- it was huge and had the right flavor and sweetness. Huevos Rancheros was one of the best I ever tried. It was much better than the ones I had in Mexico. Shakshuka came in an attractive presentation. Taste was average. Coffee was average. The ingredients are so fresh and delicious. Carefully picked and prepared. On the whole a wonderful experience.

The executive chef of this restaurant should be fired! The breakfast was absolutely horrible, tasteless and void of any flavor whatsoever. A simple chilaquiles was completely destroyed. A tasteless egg and pork on a bed of dry chips with zero flavor or sauce. We are definitely not coming back here again. Update: The restaurant manager was very nice and kind and patient enough to listen to our complaints on the food. Much appreciated 🙏

Service 4.5 stars Breakfast 2 stars Lunch 3.5 stars Vibe 4 stars We were here for both breakfast and lunch as we were staying here for 2 nights. The food does not taste as good as they look. Service is good but do not recommend if you are not staying here!

This is one of my favorite places to go for brunch. Best omelette station with wonderful service and a relaxing atmosphere. Good selection of breads, waffles & fruit! I am looking forward to continue to come back with family and friends. Thank you Emilio (manager)!!!

Google
Loved eating here. Great service, great atmosphere with a view outside, great food. I upgraded the Benedict to lobster and it was a fantastic idea. If I had to complain, the potatoes were a bit in the dry side, but some ketchup fixed them right up. Also keep in mind it’s pricey, but if you’re at this hotel you’re probably ok with that in the first place. Highly recommend!

Google
This is a lovely high end restaurant. I was here for breakfast. I had the 3 egg omelet minus the toast and potatoes. I added hollandaise sauce on the side. The atmosphere was beautiful. The waitstaff pleasant and attentive.

Yelp
Had the weekend breakfast brunch $39 per person. Be sure to include your Brilliant member number (free) for 5% off or more. The breakfast buffet options include egg station (with Benedict and omelette bar), a selection of hot savory items (apple sausage, applewood bacon, potatoes, quiche), sweet (fruits, waffles), baked goods (bagels, pastries, banana nut bread), a pasta and simple salad, yogurt and charcuterie. You also get choice of one juice and tea or coffee. Be sure to check on times. I've seen times listed as opening at 7a or 8a. I was warned by the hostess there could be a wait (even with reservations) but our Sunday brunch buffet we were seated quickly. It may depend on other events happening. Like some other reviewer mentioned the apple sausage was pretty dry, like too much binder material and needs more fat. The egg station was great. I didn't want too much to the chefs were able to accommodate my half portion of scrambled eggs and a "bread-less" Benedict. The fruits were tasty and fresh. The only chocolate baked item I saw was chocolate croissant. I did enjoy the banana nut bread and onion cheese bagel. Something the staff tried to explain but perhaps was inconsistent between servers. You only get one juice, but one server said they only had orange juice and another said they can give grapefruit juice instead. Perhaps some communication error. It's worth a meal if you're staying at the hotel or want to try something different poolside. Otherwise perhaps it's better (cheaper) to order off the menu. They have chilaquiles!

Yelp
After a day swimming at the Langham, we had dinner here because it was so conveniently located. A Beautiful setting overlooking the Lanai swimming pool. The Terrace's decor is classic and simple. They have patio seating and indoor seating. We sat inside because it was too hot outside. Service was also excellent. The food was delicious: Caesar salad, smash burger and rigatoni pasta, plus wine. The only problem was that the pasta was served cold. We specifically asked for the dishes to be brought out hot, so that was disappointing. We took it home and once it was reheated it was delicious. We also had the lemon cheesecake for dessert and it was fantastic.

Yelp
We came in for breakfast at this pool side restaurant at the langham Pasadena. Place was so packed with tourists for a Saturday morning. They started to serve lunch at 11am but guests still had breakfast / brunch buffet option. We chose the latter cause the lunch menu was so limited. The brunch buffet choices were not bad. Omelette and eggs benedict station was nice. Good amount of breakfast bakeries but no gluten free options at all. Salad and fruit station was my favorite. The food selections were decent but the flavors were lacking. I had to put salsa sauce on the flavorless foods to make them taste better. But we really wasn't expecting much for only $39 pp including soft drinks. It was a very relaxing breakfast / brunch and the service was great. Definitely up to a luxury hotel standards. I would say it's a nice place for brunch nonetheless! Ps. Valet $15 with validation

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day. Highly recommend it for special breakfast. Make sure you add notes if you want to be seated outside. Plated meals are worth it. We got the Shashuka and the eggs are perfectly cooked. Sauce doesn't have a distinguishing flavor but a mild dish. Eggs Benedict is a great portion. We got the fruit plate to start and it is plenty for 4 people. Comes with 3 pieces of banana bread. Great mix of fresh fruit. Egg and mushroom frittata was the best dish to get. Lots of mushrooms. Great location. Wonderful for a leisurely breakfast. Beautiful gardens attached.

Yelp
Sunday night the hostess was 10/10 . Service 10/10 everyone so nice . The short rib plate was everything I was hoping for . I was stunned by the graciousness by the staff . They really know how to give you that classy feeling.. like you're their special guest . Everyone working Sunday night was very attentive . the manor in which I was served made me blush quite a few times . They really are with that 5 star service . From the hostess to each of the servers they make you feel special like royalty . here I love this hotel so much , it's my happy place . 11/10 will be back .

Yelp
Just had lunch here for the first time. It was a quiet Wednesday so we basically had the place to ourselves. My avocado sandwich was great. The kettle chips were too salty to eat, oh well. I will come back here for special occasions. It's a little too pricey to make a regular spot, especially when parking is $15.

Spencer Y.

Yelp
Food here is definitely very clean and fresh. They make great breads but the service here is kind of a miss. They try to be courteous but their system interface is pretty flawed. We made a reservation with front desk and they made a mistake with reserving the wrong date. Unfortunately we had to pay the price with a 30-40 minute wait. They took responsibility for their actions but we paid the price of our time. Other than points taken off for that, the food is very fresh and clean.

Yelp
I went for brunch while staying at The Langham and it was expectedly overpriced being in a legacy luxury hotel near LA. The omelet bar was delicious. The ambiance is relaxed with a mix of hotel guests dressed down for a morning bite and public groups dressed up for a more formal brunch. Service was excellent. The waiters were attentive and when I realized I left my sunglasses, Savannah already had them at the desk for me - thanks so much!! Must-Try: Omelet with salsa verde, fresh pineapple juice, avocado spread

Yelp
Not bad but ... I don't know if I would've come here if not for our daily breakfast and meal credit. The menu isn't cheap, particularly the weekend buffet (more on that in a bit). The Terrace is the Langham Hotel's more casual breakfast, lunch, and dinner eatery, when you want something less formal than the steakhouse. Some of the options on the breakfast menu ARE worth it. The picture of my granola doesn't do the size justice. Picture two fists' worth of yogurt sitting on top of a thick, solid layer of toasted granola, drizzled with honey and topped with blueberries. It was possibly the best granola I've ever had. I ate most of it and the amount kept me full and satisfied well into the day. They also offer a market fruit plate for $18 and before you scream at the price for just some fruit, the plate is about the size of a trough. I saw a waiter carry it to a table with both hands. In addition to the heap of fruit (banana, kiwi, grapes, oranges, berries), the plate also has Greek yogurt and several slices of banana bread. If you're not particularly hungry in the morning like me, this is a great option to order for the table to share. That said: - $9 for a glass of grapefruit juice? No. Just no. - The weekend breakfast buffet is first-come, first-serve, but I recommend skipping it. First, the price tag is $40 per person, not worth it at all if you're only getting one or two plates of food. Second, the options were pretty skimpy. They had avocado toast, breakfast pastries, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, bacon, and some fruits/berries but come on. If you're charging $40, at least include more protein, like smoked fish. Or even yogurt. It took a while to flag down our waiter for the check. Weekend brunch was super loud and we ended up escaping to the Club Lounge for a second round of breakfast.

Yelp
Indulging in Sunday Brunch at the Terrace Restaurant in the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena is an exquisite experience. This was my second time having Sunday Brunch. The first time we arrived a little late to fully enjoy the breakfast buffet. However, ordering off the menu you won't be disappointed. From the moment you step onto the terrace, the elegant ambiance envelops you, complemented by lush greenery and charming views. This time, I did arrive in time to fully explore, the brunch spread is a culinary symphony, offering a tantalizing array of dishes ranging from traditional breakfast favorites to gourmet delights. The impeccable service ensures every need is anticipated and promptly attended to, making for a truly luxurious dining experience. Whether you're savoring made-to-order omelets or indulging in decadent desserts, each bite is a celebration of flavor and refinement. The Terrace Restaurant at the Langham Huntington Hotel is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable brunch experience amidst unparalleled elegance and hospitality.

Yelp
I know that The Terrace has not had a good reputation, but I don't know why. It's only 3 stars on yelp, the front page has several only one-star complaints. I will take about my experience there. Danny invited me and my daughter, Lara, to have lunch there, after we ignored about a dozen options. He picked us up and drove there, from my home to the west-south hidden inside a hotel where The Terrace is. It's inside a hotel, I was told the hotel has more than 100 years of history. We were seated, outside the room beside the swimming pool. There was not too crowded during the COVID season. There was a table of Chinese, who looked like two wealthy Chinese families, with their high school kids, none of the families had the full members of husband and wife. The environment was good with the sunshine, the restaurant was just reopened and still with the notice on yelp about a temporary time opening. Almost everyone around the swimming pool and sitting outside was not wearing a mask except at two tables, our table and the table next to us of the Chinese. The menu for the lunch was simple, Danny ordered a salad, Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad for $ 26, Lara had a Roasted Turkey Panini($26) and I had California Cobb($26). Compare with the food we got, the salad was a more expensive one. We share the food, all were standard, but no one was delicious. They were good, but not gourmet. Lara's panini was in a fashion shape, it was more like a hot sandwich. Mine was also good, but not that good to be remembered. The salad was normal, the romaine was fresh, and the turkey was as dry as any turkey, nothing special. The burger was small and the fries were good and crispy. I don't even have any idea to comment on it, the food was good and beyond average. The view was wonderful, the service was acceptable. We had a walk after the brunch, quite with disruption, the historical builds were recalling the memory. Where those memories came from? I am just a new first-generation immigrant here, why I'm feeling so familiar with the stuff here? Anyway, the food was good, even not the best level but those were good. I will visit here again.

Yelp
My coworkers and i came for lunch here during the week, the hotel is beautiful and so was the restaurant. The view of the pool and the garden was just beautiful, we had some drinks and some burgers, everything was really good. This is a great place to come and have a meal and walk around the gardens.

Yelp
It's all pomp and circumstance at stately Langham Hotel's casual breakfast/lunch/dinner spot. Perfect date spot, especially if the date is with your Mom. First, you must valet. I was a bit hesitant to "street park" in this fancy neighborhood, so in I went, down the long driveway, and up to the portico where a dozen suited gents wait to open your car door. I mean, if you're going to valet anywhere, do it here! $20 BTW ($10 with restaurant validation). Plus the $5 tip tip to get the car back after lunch, and there you have it. The cost of a lunch just for the car. The restaurant is downstairs, so you get to travel a meandering path through this very beautiful hotel. It's poolside, but I don't like to eat outside, so I opted for window-side pool view. For lunch, the menu (cheeseburger, caesar salad, panini) is a bit ho-hum, but sometimes that's just what you need. Everything was delicious. The presentation is all Langham, which is nice. Then, its back to the valet station, where they have somehow remembered which car was yours and bring it up before you even present your ticket. Sheesh! [Ice in veins]

Yelp
While I am not a person who generally eats at a hotel restaurant away to the fact that it's generally over priced, there are times I wish it not only make sense but one can receive a very good meal. The setting on the terrace overlooks the pool some of the rooms on the opposite side of the same pool and the hills in the background. The service was very good and there were enough variety on the menu to please most people. I had the shrimp cocktail which came with large butterflied shrimp, along with an excellent bowl of tortilla soup. I also had a bowl of fresh berries. All of these dishes were gluten-free. The pasta was not but provided two meals. Their shrimp was very fresh and the tortilla soup was excellent. I sat out on the patio so despite the high price, the meal and pleasant surroundings made this an excellent choice.

dana b.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and grounds. The Tap Room is also a nice area of the hotel to pop into for a cocktail and a different view. We had an 11:15 reservation but they stop serving breakfast and brunch at Noon. Seems kinda early to me. So, we ordered from the lunch menu. I had the delicious French onion soup and a cob salad. My family had the salmon and the pasta. The salmon was a favorite. The pasta portion was huge. All of the desserts were a hit...ice cream sampler, crème brûlée and chocolate cake. The service was really helpful and attentive. The coffee was constantly being refilled, it was nice on a chilly day. With Terrace validation, valet was only $10 instead of $20.

Yelp
As a person who grew up in Pasadena, I must say that this place holds some special memories, like my high school prom many years ago. Although time has passed, the historic Langham Huntington is still a stunning property. Tucked inside the property is The Terrace Restaurant. The Terrace is wonderful for casual dining. Nothing beats sitting outside on a beautiful day enjoying great conversation. Our server was very friendly and attentive. For ambiance and service, hands down this is 5 stars. The food was good, but maybe a bit underwhelming so I would give it 3 stars. Parking is super easy. It's valet only, and part of the cost is discounted if you get your ticket validated by the restaurant. Lastly, do yourself a favor and explore the grounds before or after your meal. It's gorgeous.

Fanny S.

Yelp
We went to the Terrace to have breakfast. The hot chocolate didn't taste good at all, so I told the waiter, who actually told me that if I didn't like it then don't drink it. That was such rude service in such a high-end hotel. Why I need to got such rude service when I went to have breakfast on my birthday day? Really disappointing. I hope the attitude of the waiter will change. We waited for more than 30 minutes for our breakfast. During this time, we asked why it took so long, and the waiter said it needed a time. If there is no enthusiasm for service, better not do this job. We are paying to have a peaceful breakfast. She ruined my day. I hope the hotel will improve its service. Not only was the service terrible, the food was as well. All the pastries were extremely mediocre and borderline bad. The omelette was pretty boring as well and the goat cheese flavor was too strong, as it was the only thing that was in the omelette.

Lisa N.

Yelp
Lovely outdoor seating and delicious food. The brunch buffet was so good! Delicious omelette, fruit, yogurt, pastries, sausage and waffles. For dinner my husband enjoyed the half chicken with a delicious salad. We don't recommend the fries. I had the burrata beet salad (so good!) with a well cooked and seasoned salmon on the side.

Alex M.

Yelp
Not worth the price. At first we planned on the buffet, but after looking at it, it was barely nicer than a generic free breakfast at a hotel -- yes there were some figs and a egg station, but nothing special that would warrant the price -- no lox or upscale options. So, we decided to order off the menu. To start our bill was already $16each for a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice. The actual entree options were decent -- the smoked salmon plate was good at a reasonable price, but the sides were absurdly overpriced. For example, $8 for half an avocado, $12 for a bowl of basic berries that one might find at a Dennys. Service was fine, but for 2 people to spend $110 on a breakfast I should have been wowed.

Mari M.

Yelp
We arrived at around 7am and the restaurant was nearly empty. I requested a window seat as they were all available upon arrival. Right after we got seated they seated another party right outside our window despite having the entire patio to choose from. Why would you seat two parties right next to each other in an empty restaurant?? I felt uncomfortable looking out the window to enjoy the view as the other party was sitting RIGHT THERE. The food was overall ok- the French toast and smoked salmon had nice portions and a nice flavor balance. The avocado toast was very disappointing. They should call it egg toast as it had two eggs with a THIN THIN layer of avocado spread that you couldn't even taste. Our server was great but the host needs some training in placing customers in an empty restaurant.

Zoe T.

Yelp
It's a hotel breakfast, has to be good. Not amazing, but good. And of course, slightly overpriced as they all are. The avocado toast required more salt than my arm could afford to pour, and the banana bread reminded me of the ones they serve on planes. However, the mimosa was delicious, and I really didn't mind the stellar service. Langham is a great property -- don't let their breakfast change your mind even it might.

Yaya D.

Yelp
So my parents are visiting town and I took them to the Langham brunch for a good time. When I stood up my mom noticed my pants got some stains as showed in the pic, and we noticed there's multiple stains everywhere on the couch. There's stain on my moms side too and her black dress got colored too. We told the waitress and she called the manager JEAN INZUNZA, after I stated what happened to the manger, she kept saying she doesn't know how the stain got on there, she said maybe there was kids earlier, she told us the best she can do is for us to leave the clothes here(I'm wearing the pants?) and they can wash them or we can go find a dry clean and come back with the receipt. First of all, I don't live around and probably won't have the time to come back just to get the laundry reimbursement. Second of all, being more than doing, a genuine gesture of apologies will be much more appreciated than asking us come back with the receipt. This is not about right or wrong here and I'm not making you wrong or being personal. As a manager, keep saying you don't know what happened sounded like you are defending and don't want to take any responsibility. Good service is about making sure costumers are happy instead of busy defending yourself. You caused us trouble and now you expect us to go take care of it ourselves and you will cover the expense. So our time and energy is not valuable? Are we working for the hotel? What kind of service is that? On top of it the food was really basic and limited. Things like smoked salmon before is gone, now the only thing they provided was omelet. On the webpage and through the phone they told me it's $40 per person but they charged us $45 per person, and plus tax it was $200 for three of us. I will never come back again, Langham was once a 5 star hotel, I had a lot of good memory. But now everything is minimum passed the line.

Michael C.

Yelp
In short, was like dining at a bad culinary school restaurant. Service and food was inconsistent, with Langham's reputation and pricing was expecting better, so entire experience was a big let down. Details: Valentine Pre-fixed dinner with my wife and adult daughter. Champagne and bread starter was nice. Service at this point was already lacking. 30 minutes in before someone took our order. We all had lobster bisque to start. We didn't ' get spoons (had to ask) and was later told they ran out of soup spoons so they gave us dessert spoons instead. 2nd course: Hamachi crisp was good. Especially the citrus sudashi. Mushroom risotto, was salty and super rich. We could only finish a few bites. Main course: islandic cod was perfect, but the oxtail that it came with was so salty it was inedible. Five spice short rib and polenta were edible, but nothing memorable. Dessert was good. Red velvet chocolate cake and chocolate strawberry mousse. Kudos to the pastry chef. Unfortunately, our server was not good. We were able to compare another server to the table next to us and he was more attentive in just refilling our water than our server was for the whole night. Two different patrons left the table next to us before we were done. This was a hit and miss in execution from top to bottom. Unfortunately The Langham charged top dollar for the meal and service (20% tip up charge), but did not deliver. Oh, insult to injury...they ran out of complimentary roses by the end of our dinner. I apologized to my family for the experience and safe to say we won't be returning to the Langham.

Jojo V.

Yelp
Yes, it is convenient not having to leave your hotel for breakfast but don't waste your time here. We had breakfast reservations and still had to wait 40 minutes until we were seated. Took another hour for breakfast to be served. Had to ask 3 different servers for ketchup. The salmon bagel was delightful but did they have to fly to alaska and wrestle a bear to get the salmon? Did they have to go to the farm to pick out the ONE piece of cherry tomato and TWO pieces of mushroom that was in the breakfast platter? service needs a lot of work..

Frank L.

Yelp
I'm a pasadena resident and have always wanted to visit the langham, its nestled in this inconspicuous small street that screams old money. So as the Mrs and I were deciding where we should have dinner on date night, the idea came to mind to check out the langham. Reservations were easy to get as it was quiet on a Monday night. Valet parking 10 bucks with validation. Restaurant is on the right and down the stairs. We were seated outside by the pool, the building, landscaping and beauty of the architecture was very impressive. Did I mention this place screams old money? The menu isn't crazy. You get a selection of 2 soups, about 8 starters to pick and about 8 entrees. My girlfriend went with the short ribs. She enjoyed it. We shared a crab cake. It was tasty. And I ordered a burger which came with fries and finished the evening off with the creame brule which came highly recommended. The reviews are pretty accurate. The foods alright... Crab cake could've been better if they had a zesty dipping sauce. I thought the short ribs needed a bit more seasoning. A little sweetness to balance the savory. The burger bun was thick. I ended up just eating it with the bottom bun. The burger was a little plain and didn't have any kind of special sauce to make it unique. But that's just my opinion, I'm assuming they cater more to an older crowd with different set of taste buds. Overall, staff were very friendly. Place is as clean as a whistle and landscape and architecture make for some great pictures.

Olive J.

Yelp
Such a beautiful hotel! The restaurant attire was much more casual than I had anticipated. Very friendly staff. I ordered the short rib for dinner. It was good, but nothing special. Awesome location.

Patty G.

Yelp
I just love going into this gorgeous hotel to this restaurant. The buffet brunch is good but the price is high and you would expect all food to be consistently good. The chicken sausage can be dry and the waffles are sweetened so when you add syrup they are too sweet ...I noticed everyone in our party could not finish them. The omelette bar is good and the avocado toast bar is clever and delicious. It is good overall. I will be back.

Keesha W.

Yelp
We had a wondeful time here because Jean went above and beyond the call of dutty! It is so good to know that

Sydney Y.

Yelp
I'm sad to give this restaurant 3 stars but in my opinion the price just doesn't match the quality. It's outrageously expensive and the service is wonderful but the food is just fine. In my opinion you'd be better off going somewhere else cheaper in Pasadena than eating at the hotel. Went to a family dinner here on a Thursday night as my parents were guests, wasn't a problem getting the reservation for 6, got seated right away outside. It was slightly chilly, but they have heaters (like everywhere in CA) so we didn't get cold. We ordered appetizers and everyone except 1 person in the party got the scallops. I would say the risotto was good and the scallops were alright. The sauce they were served in was basically a sweet and sour sauce. Didn't seem to go with the creamy risotto which kind of threw the whole dish off for me. The appetizers we got were truffle fries, the burrata salad and Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were the best thing of the night actually, really light and crispy. And for dessert someone got a creme brûlée, which was good. Parking is non-existent near the hotel, you have to valet. It's $20 for the day, or $10 if you get validation from the restaurant. Even though on the open table website it specifically states it's $8 with validation, but I was told that the prices changed. They should really reflect that on their reservation sites, it already sucks to pay so much for parking, but to pay more than expected is even worse. Overall, I just don't think the food was good enough to come back to try for dinner again, especially at the price point. I think it was so expensive just because it's in a nice hotel, not because the food is necessarily amazing.

Nancy W.

Yelp
Anytime I am able to dine or drink at this beautiful hotel is always a treat! The terrace offers indoor and outdoor dining (I prefer outdoors when the weather is nice) The food is consistent try delicious. The Brussels are a must! I could not get enough of them.

Aimee K.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Langham. We had a nice stay up until Saturday. We had dinner reservations at the terrace. Unfortunately the terrace had given us food poisoning! I would say avoid this place for dinner based on our experience. The food was good, the staff was nice but getting sick and having the rest of our weekend plans derailed was not worth it. We did let the front desk know and nothing was done. At this point we just wanted to get out of the hotel and be sick in our own bed. It's unfortunate when the restaurant itself seemed great at first.

B R.

Yelp
They called to confirm the day before. When I called back, I kept getting transferred into the main line and finally gave up. The girl was really perky, though. We were seated at a table too large for our party. The room has very high ceilings and it was difficult to hear one another. Though the waitstaff was polite, it felt very rushed, though it wasn't an overly busy day. All but one meal was served quickly, but the other meal didn't arrive until five minutes later while the rest of our food got cold. Felt like the lunch prices were dinner prices.

Lenny H.

Yelp
I was contemplating whether to selfishly give a decoy rating of 5 stars so people come here (instead of actually good restaurants), but I'd rather be honest. Our filet mignon and sides were honestly NO BETTER than a steak you can get at Chillis, Applebees, or BJs, but at 4-5x the price. I know, because I used to visit Chillis once a week for their 2-for $20 deal 10 years ago when I was serving coffee at Starbucks. If you're looking for an upscale dinner, I would recommend going somewhere where they *specialize* in food, instead of also providing hospitality. Good options are: -Flemings in Pasadena -Fogo De Chao in Pasadena or Downtown LA -Ruth Chris in Pasadena -Houston's in Pasadena Pro tip: If you're looking to get similar quality food, I would recommend visiting Applebees and telling the hostess you're willing to drop 40% tip so they'll assign you a waiter who can *pretend* this is a fancy restaurant by describing the food and/or folding your towels. It'll feel just like Terrace at Langham, and you'll save money! Clean bathrooms, though. And great landscape paintings all over the Langham, if you're into that sort of thing.

Yelp
Really yummy and fresh eats! Enjoyed my quiche and the veggie pasta out on the patio overlooking the pool!

Yelp
I've been here 6 times and always hoping that it will get better. It doesn't. It's Dennys but double the price. I had the standard eggs your way and bacon. The bacon was paper thin. The eggs were over cooked. The hash browns felt like they out of the freezer and reheated. This is THE LANGHAM. Up your game. How about thick cut bacon from a farm in the Midwest, the eggs should be large and organic and cooked perfectly. It was 26$.... 26$ for what? Don't come here. Save yourself money. I come to have a meeting with people all the time because they think it's nice... the property is NICE. The food is lousy . Go to Juliennes down the street. The food is gourmet and well thought out. Innovative and tasty. I'm so disappointed, I can go on. But you all get it!! It's not the money... it's the poor performance that's disappointing.

Yelp
Wonderful meal at The Terrace. Always great service and food. And eating outdoors is always a benefit.

Yelp
The food is fine, but like everywhere on the Langham property, the service is top notch and the prices are high. Sitting outside on the patio, or inside (where it is seriously AC'ed) both work. Options for grub are limited most of the time right now unless you want to leave the hotel campus (and it is not close to much else), so the Terrace does just fine

Yelp
This is for a breakfast visit on Dec 26, 2023. We (a party of 7) were at the Terrace at 10:30 for breakfast on the 26th, my family and I were entertaining dear friends visiting us from North California. Our waiter was rude and lacked not just manners but energy and interest. The Food was incredibly poor, both taste and presentation wise. You might think the kitchen ran out of eggs since the scrambled egg dishes a few of us ordered barely had one egg scrambled. The roasted potatoes were completely cold and mushy, the toasted bread was burnt and felt like decades old, and everything else was cold to the touch and had no taste. The seats had super dirty cushions and the tables were all scratched up and sticky. Everything was incredible bad. The hotel management should take this comment and comments made by others seriously. We have frequented this Huntington jewel for 30 years and it's sad to see what's happened to this beautiful property and 5-star hotel under Langham's management. During the Ritz-Carlton days, you would never have such poorly trained and behaving waiters nor such awful food and furniture to tolerate. We were so disgusted by the entire experience, it's doubtful they we'll go back to the Terrace at Langham ever again.

Yelp
Very nice spot but ridiculously expensive. Their website shows a menu for the breakfast buffet that lists the prices as $40 per adult and $20 per child. But when the bill arrived they charged $75 per adult and $40 per child. Talk about sticker shock!!! We spent $500 for a family of 6 and while the food and service were great we would not have gone had we known how pricey it was.

Yelp
Truly the worst Christmas Eve dinner I've had at a restaurant. Don't accept so many reservations for a holiday night if you're not equipped to handle it. When we arrived, we waited nearly 10 minutes for the hostess to even come to the front. No one was even there. It wasn't until another person from a different party went to the kitchen to get someone's attention. The waiters working the tables all ignored the crowd that was gathering by the entrance. Rightfully so, since there should've been a host at the front in the first place. During our wait, we saw that there weren't any tables open at all, which was surprising considering we and the parties behind us all had reservations. The hostess offered to split our group up (which made no sense) but ultimately set up a new table in the walkway where no table should've been in. But we decided to si anyways because we didn't want to be split up and we were getting pretty upset about how the evening began. Our server came and brought us waters, but then disappeared. Some 15 minutes later, we finally were able to flag down another server to take our order because our original server disappeared on us. None of the staff even noticed us because of where they set up the table. From the start of our reservation time and the time waiting to be seated to when we actually got the appetizers, it took a full hour. Ridiculous. Luckily, we had bread to keep us company while we waited. The Christmas Eve dinner had a set menu. Appetizers for the table were: CHILLED CITRUS POACHED SHRIMP, WINTER WEDGE, PEAR AND BRIE IN PHYLLO, and WINTER PUMPKIN SOUP. The poached shrimp were just regular chilled shrimp with a lemon wedge and cocktail sauce; very basic and nothing special. The winter wedge was a small lettuce head sliced in half topped with bacon jam, blue cheese, almonds, fried sweet potatoes, and "house made dressing" that tasted like Thousand Island dressing. This was probably the best appetizer of the four items. The pear and brie looked like a fried eggroll topped with cranberry sauce and frisée lettuce. It was cold and the phyllo pastry was soggy. The pumpkin soup could've been decent if it wasn't awfully cold. The creme frachie had actually hardened because of how cold the soup was. It looked like it was sitting on the counter for an hour. There were also toasted pepitas in the soup. For the entree, they had four options to choose from: GRILLED MOYER FARM FILET MIGNON, MAPLE GLAZED PORK CHOP, PAN-ROASTED SCALLOPS, and ROASTED PUMPKIN RAVIOLI. We only got the filet mignon and pork chop. The filet mignon was cooked fine to mediums and medium rare but it had a mushy texture. Pork chop portion was larger than expected which was nice but the meat was rather pink and slightly under seasoned. There were also sides for the table to share: HERB BUTTER MASHED POTATOES, ROASTED CARROTS, and SAUTÉED BRUSSELS SPROUTS. These three side dishes were actually the best things we had all night. The dinner wrapped up with BÜCHE DE NOEL that tasted and felt like it was in the fridge for a week. The dinner was $135/person plus a 20% service charge on the bill. I couldn't even reduce the tip for the poor service even if I wanted to. While we were eating, we kept seeing crowds of people being ignored by the entrance because the hostess was nowhere to be seen, just like we experienced earlier in the evening. Everyone had a sour look when they were finally led to their table 10-15 mins later. Long waits really shouldn't be happening if you have a reservation system. Langham had parking for $20, but restaurant validation made it $10. Their credit card system was down so they only took cash, zelle, or venmo. This was my first time at The Langham even though I've lived nearby for years. While the hotel is nice and the decorations were lovely, this restaurant was awful. I might give try the other restaurants in the hotel, but chances of coming back to The Terrace is unlikely. I would recommend other restaurants elsewhere for better food, service, and experience: Fogo de Chao, Gaucho Grill, Ruth's, Fleming's, The Derby are all better options than here.

Yelp
The afternoon was filled with crepuscular rays at the regal Langham Hotel. Holiday anticipation was building (like tension on a bow string) for an "al fresco" experience. Car was taken by valet---$6.00 charge---and at entrance, made a right then left and another right and to "The Terrace." Seated by Nathalie and served by Narciso and Rigoberto---Gracie! Delight manifested as the spaetzle (paired with Grilled Salmon) was sampled along with the crisp broccolini and beurre rouge. Rolls were warm and brought tableside with molded butter orbs waiting in a ramekin. Coffee was poured for me and engaging talk of the 2019 Rose Parade Marshall Chaka Khan, Cal-Tech, Niels Bohr and application of physics to the natural world was "stuff of intrigue." The pinnacle was the presentation of Tropical Fruit Strudel. A truly non-banal/trite lunch overall.

Yelp
The food here is good very tasty and cooked perfectly. The burgers and salmon is cooked perfect and I definitely recommend the Brussel sprout I would however skip on the onion soup.

Yelp
Let's end this week with a good one... I returned back to The Langham but chose The Terrace over Tap Room and this time, I really enjoyed my visit! From the lobby, it felt as though it was a longer trek since it was the opposite direction to get to from the Tap Room, but I also say this since I was in heels so in theory, it may not have been. Hostess greeted me right away, asking if I wanted inside or out and I once again opted for out. She sat me at a prime table which overlooked the pool area. Coming here around 1:30p was ideal, as it wasn't as crowded as it probably was earlier. Server came out within a couple of minutes and I made this easy since I already knew what I had wanted. A new menu debuted on the 18th of March, and quite a few things stood out. Today I went with the Cacio e Pepe (their version was with spaghetti, black pepper, Pecorino Romano cheese and a grilled baguette). Bread service was offered and another server came by with a selection of three choices, I opted for the olive which was odd since I'm not crazy about olives but this was pretty good. Food arrives and I will say compared to what the menu says, the pasta was not spaghetti, nor was the bread a baguette (see photo attached), but regardless, this WORKED on every level. In the past, I've had this dish and it was rather overwhelming for me, but here, it was done perfectly. Just the right amount of pepper, and I was able to savor every bite. Basil was also incorporated, and this added more flavor to an already well-done plate. The only off moment was when the server was MIA for a while after I had my food taken away, waiting for the check. I'm not sure if he thought I was a guest there, but it took a little bit of time, but not as long as it did when I was at the Tap Room. I knew they closed down at 2p and by now it was almost 2:30p, but I guess if guests were already present, they weren't rushing to kick anyone out. Some people had pretty pink lunchbox style boxes but I was only given a brown regular box. Perhaps it was due to the type of food I had, but these other boxes were really cute (already thinking of how to obtain one on my next trip). Overall, my experience this time around went really well, and I'm looking forward to returning to try their version of the Waldorf, in addition to enjoying that pasta dish again. As long as they stay away from bucatini or garganelli as the pasta (don't ask, I'm weird), I'll be enjoying this again! If you valet, they do validate so it comes to $6, so make sure you present your ticket to them with your check. Most of the time, they are good at asking anyway. I'm glad the Terrace brought me back to The Langham for a pleasant afternoon. Looking forward to the next one- (Seems I do a lot of things out of character when I'm out this way: heels, sitting outside, olive bread...) aiming for 5-stars!!

Yelp
It is really tragic how the quality has gone down. It used to be our tried and true for a nice treat but now it is truly airport food with an exorbitant price tag. The food did not taste good. The presentation was not good. We waited an hour for a salad and a salmon. We spoke to the manager and she hurriedly tried to end the conversation by dismissing our feedback and merely blamed COVID. Well, there you have it folks. She's basically saying don't come here anymore bc of COVID *shrugs*

Yelp
Disappointment sums it up for the Valentine's Day prix fixe dinner at The Terrace. The food and service were both underwhelming, to say the least. Our waiter did not even attempt to engage us in conversation, our courses were separated by incredibly long spaces of time, and the dishes were mediocre at best. The lobster bisque and hamachi crudo were just okay, but nothing to rave about. Our main course, cod with an ox tail accompaniment was overly salted to the point that it was inedible. For dessert, the dark chocolate cake and milk chocolate heart with strawberry mousse were pretty good, but our waiter did not even offer us coffee or an after dinner drink. The price per person ($150) was outrageous for the quality of cuisine and inattentive service. Our expectations were high coming in, but we will not be back based on this experience. To top it off, a 20% service charge was automatically applied for a party of two and valet parking was still $15 after validation. Do NOT waste your money or your time at this disappointing establishment. There are plenty of other amazing restaurants in Pasadena that far surpass this place.

Yelp
My review is 3.5 stars. Celebrated my best friend's birthday with lunch here on Sunday 1/15/23, after a spa treatment. Staff very nice, restaurant VERY LOUD, service average and food good, not amazing (esp for this price point). I will not go back.

Yelp
DineLA experience. The customer service was good. The restaurant was nice. The food was very pretty but one of my dish flavor just didn't work for me. The sauce on the scallop dish had too much strawberry flavor and it didn't go well with the scallop. I was expecting a more creamy citrus sauce that would definitely compliment the scallop. Everything else was good but not excellent.

Yelp
I'm late writing my review because I thought I had already done it. Oopsy! February 8, 2020: In celebration of my sister-friend's (SF) divorce, I wanted to treat her to a beautiful brunch. She chose The Terrace Restaurant. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded even though reservations were made. We were seated immediately. YAY! Service: The hostess was busy when we arrived so it took her a few minutes before she finally addressed us and then seated us. Because of the empty dining room (most were seated outside), we were able to choose our seats. YAY! Our server, I forgot his name again, was a great one. He was attentive, funny, and informative. As we left, the valet people were kind as well. Food: Well, I'm picky and will definitely return for the exact same thing I had on this day! OH GOODNESS! The table bread and butter were soft enough and tasty. We started with a salad they call "Avocado" and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. No way was this salad worth $16.00 as tasty as it was. I hate Brussel Sprouts yet my SF and I loved this version of them. The Brussel Sprouts came with pomegranate, herb goat cheese, pistachios, and bacon. It was SO GOOD and I venture to say worth the $16.00. My SF had the Lobster Bisque and she was beyond pleased. I never tasted it but she talked about it for two days. That's saying a lot since she's a trained and educated chef. I ordered the grilled cheese which came with tomato soup and fries. The tomato soup was DELISH! The fries were pretty good. The grilled cheese was the BEST I have had in a long time! Odds & Ends: Paid valet parking is your ONLY choice which sucks but whatever. The valet attendants are dressed in 50s attire and are simply adorable and polite. It's very easy to get lost since there are few signs showing how to get to The Terrace from the valet. We got lost twice but enjoyed walking off some of our meals. I will never stay at this hotel on purpose but I will definitely return to The Terrace time and time again.
