The Texas Pool

My family and I have been coming here for many years. It's where both my boys learned how to swim. We are grateful for the staff and the lifeguards for always ensuring that our kids are safe, and being respectful to others. This is truly a gem in the neighborhood, and has always been the highlight of our summers together as a family. We want to give a shoutout to the lifeguards, and applaud them for always being so good with the kids and setting a great example for them. Lincoln has been a true light at the pool this summer, and is a great role model for the younger generation. Keep up the great work!

This was a charming cute pool (smaller than expected) but still nice and great that it was saltwater. However, me and my young children will not be returning as when we went there recently there were two teenage boys throwing a football back and forth across the length of the pool for almost the entire two hours we were there. Their "game" took up almost half the usable swimming pool space. We tried hard to get away from them, but they often missed so this water football or whatever they were using would splash super hard and nearly hit my child and me multiple times even when we were several feet away. Lifeguards/management did nothing to stop it so assuming they are very ok with it. Most public pools have rules against throwing balls or other objects because of the safety hazards involved (aside from water volley but that's usually in a specific area of the pool) I definitely think this pool could benefit from some stricter rules about this type of thing and not act like it's some random backyard pool where anything goes.

We came from out of state to visit friends. We had a great time. Friendly staff, clean facilities and wonderful community atmosphere. Very family friendly and safe environment. The pool wasn’t as quite as big as we thought it would be but still nice. We would come back if in the area again.

I run a nonprofit that organizes social activities for Adults with Autism. We go to Texas Pool at least once during the summer. They are awesome!

Kind of disappointing when you show up and see how small it is. It’s cute and very family friendly. Music is good. Good amount of shade. Con’s is yearly price. Fountains don’t work. Should have more umbrellas.

One of the few Texas shaped swimming pools in the world. This historic (50 year old) pool is listed on the National Registry of Historic places and is a gem. Great place to take a day trip and chill by the pool. Lifeguards on duty. They also rent it out for parties. Birthday parties are a huge success here. You can also catch “Elizabeth Swims” the YouTube star swimming here sometimes.

The lifeguards and other staff are amazing they always have fun events for the whole family. If you want a very fun and refreshing day go to the Texas pool!

I love fun! Not too busy. Great events and really friendly staff. Cheap prices on snacks. Food and non alcoholic beverages allowed. BBQ. Perfect spot for weekends. Nice music, clean environment.

We love the Texas Pool! Even though we don't live in Plano, we've come to the Pool from Rowlett and East Dallas. The saltwater is the best! It's always clean and the lifeguards are always on duty. If you come early on a weekday you can almost have it to yourself.

Great place to swim. The pool is always clean. The workers are friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing pool. Amazing staff. Love this place and... it even has a deep end with a diving board. Love it!

The Texas Pool in southern Plano is awesome. The pool is shaped like the great State of Texas. It has 2 slides - one for the little kids another for the bigger ones. A diving board and an area for water volleyball. The South Texas area is only 1 foot so perfect for the little ones to wade or sit in the water. The lifeguards are great and get to know the families throughout the summer. All the members have been very warm and inviting. They even have movie nights a few times throughout the summer that is open to the public. You have to join and be a member to swim at the pool but they will let you swim at the pool before you join. You can live anywhere in the area - it is not an HOA pool. Open membership. Check out the website at www.texaspool.org for more information.

Great place to enjoy some sun. Membership fees are reasonable and goes to a good cause; the texas pool foundation. Payment is easy and done through paypal. They also offer events. Their website is quite informative.

I learned how to swim at this pool in the early seventies. We practically lived there when it was hot. When I was three I jumped off the diving board backwards and didn't jump out far enough. The lifeguard dove in and pushed my front teeth back in straight! God bless y'all for keeping this historical pool going all these years.

First & only time I have ever seen a pool shaped like Texas. Pretty cool! I was thinking about hiring someone to build a Texas shaped hot tub for the backyard...

Family oriented plenty of activities and it is a very clean pool. Has a shallow section for small kids and a deep section for divers. Staff and lifeguards are very nice polite and accommodating. This is an excellent location for summer BBQs and swims. One of the last public salt water pools in the area and is sure to be Texas sized fun.
