1. Atmosphere: Throw Back is everything you want in a sports bar — energetic, welcoming, and spotless. The vibe is fun without being overwhelming. It’s lively but still comfortable enough to actually enjoy your meal and conversation. Even the bathroom deserves a mention — super clean and smells amazing. That alone says a lot about how the place is run. 2. Food: I had the **Steak & Eggs**, and it was outstanding. The steak was beautifully seasoned — and not just with salt and pepper. You can taste that there’s real intention behind the flavors. It was cooked perfectly to my liking, tender and flavorful. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy and potato-y on the inside (exactly how they should be), and the eggs were also cooked to perfection. Chef Santos is incredible. He makes a hollandaise sauce that pairs with the fries and steak, and honestly — they should bottle it and sell it. I would absolutely buy it. It’s rich, flavorful, and elevates the entire dish. 3. Ambiance: The ambiance strikes a great balance — classic sports bar energy with a polished, clean feel. It never feels grimy or chaotic like some sports bars can. You can tell the owners care about the overall experience, not just the food. 4. Service: Top-notch. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. My bartender, Mew, was fantastic. The owners used to bartend themselves, and you can tell — they know what a properly crafted cocktail should taste like. I even had the pleasure of meeting them, and they are genuine, warm people who clearly take pride in what they’ve built. Overall, a fantastic brunch experience. Great food, great drinks, great people — I’ll definitely be back. 🍳🥩🍹

Stopped by this new bar on a late Sunday afternoon and had a great time, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Delicious drinks, solid food, and a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommend!

First, let me say that I’m not a sports bar person bc I’m not that into sports, however this is not your average sports bar- it’s more than that. I am a people person and I love to hang out. They’ve got games machines and great people at that! The owners are the nicest and down-to-earth people. I had The Shakedown and my wife had the special pumpkin drink. We enjoyed them so much! Excuse the photo as it is the only one I took as I was having such a good time my phone stayed in my pocket until the last minute. If you haven’t been…. You’re missing out.

Pretty good! Went for their first day of brunch service -- for the burrito, I would say more salsa inside, and less salad on the plate 😅 The French Toast rolls were good for sharing

I used to wonder what a bar that paid for a bunch of good reviews look like. Now I know. The bartender insisted that we walk up to the bar to give our order, even though they were three people at his bar and one table in the bar area. This is Monday Night Football playoff with the Steelers versus the Houston Texans, and he had the TV all on different stations and only one on the game until I asked him to put it up on all TVs. When I did ask him if he was gonna put it on the TVs, he said, “I’m actually going to turn them all off. Of course I’m gonna put the game on the TVs, what kind of sports bar would this be if we didn’t have important games on the TV?” Never mind that four people had walked in to his empty bar in the last half hour, and he didn’t say a word to them until they came up to the bar. Never mind that he was having beers and shots with one of his regulars and ignoring the other people at the bar. Never mind that when I asked for a refill of diet soda for my wife, he didn’t add any ice and just poured the flat Diet Coke over the top of the water down Coke that was already in the glass. I seriously think he must be the owner, he’s a billionaire, and it’s just looking for a tax write off. The food was made, but the girl who cooked it at least came upstairs and talked to us, so we knew we weren’t in a twilight zone episode, where people who work in a bar don’t actually ever talk to you. I can’t recommend Blondies enough. Super helpful staff, they were super fast, and they were packed for the games yesterday. Way different than this place. Certainly the best sports bar I’ve ever been to. Independently owned. Affordable. Welcoming of all folk - young, old, die-hard fans, and those just along for the ride. The food is made fresh with real ingredients (give me more Mac and cheese bites) and they offer a great selection of drinks (who knew there were more than 1 flavor of Sun Cruiser?!). The place is tastefully adorned with classic memorabilia and even a few arcade games. Pennants on TVs indicating who’s playing was a cute touch. Our server Christina was fantastic. Cheers Throwback - thanks for a genuinely grand time!

We hosted a Super Bowl party at the Throwback and it was terrific! Brittni was amazing to coordinate with in advance and the downstairs space with pinball machines and TV's was perfect for our crew that included kids. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, the food and drinks were plentiful and delicious. We will definitely be back and for those folks looking for a fun and inviting space for a party you should consider the Throwback!

I planned a surprise party for my fiancé at The Throwback and it was absolutely incredible! The staff was so welcoming and made the space feel homey and comfortable. We had the downstairs area for our intimate event, and it was perfect. Brittni and her husband, Alex, were SO helpful—truly couldn’t have asked for better people to work with. We will definitely be back!

The throwback was excellent, a welcome addition to the neighborhood in a much needed area (there are almost no bars in the 90s, let alone sports bars) - all respect given where it is due to dive bar but some company is welcome around here! It's clean, well run and the atmosphere was lively with a dash of family friendly. All of this is good and well, and would probably get it the 5 stars just on its own, but now we're here to talk about the thing that makes this place legitimately special - the food. I don't know what I was expecting, but hot damn, it wasn't that. The food is unbelievable. Whoever they've got running the kitchen is incredible, it's some of the best "bar food" I've ever had. Air quotes on bar food because the place is too clean and well to really count as what I'd call classic bar fare but my god it's actually special. Whatever that little dash of maple magic they're doing with the sweet potato waffle fries is legitimate alchemy. Don't waste your time reading on, if you're walking distance just go and find out for yourself - I'm going to be back very soon.

When I think of bars on the UWS, my mind immediately goes to the stretch from 79th to 86th. So it's nice to have an option further north, The Throwback is a solid sports bar near 95th. The interior is very well lit, don't expect a dark broody dive bar vibe. Sports memorabilia cover nearly every inch of every wall, lots of signed photos from athletes and actors everywhere. Very fun, upbeat vibes. There are plenty of tables available, as well as chairs at the bar. And, of course, TVs throughout, both near the bar and across the floor seating. No bad angles for watching sports here! I just came for a few beers, and enjoyed the atmosphere. Our bartender was great. If I lived in this area, I'd definitely post up at The Throwback for a low key drink and/or to watch some football.

It's so nice to have a sports bar in the West 90s. The menu is small but everything is good. There is a full bar and for a sports bar the cocktails are quite great. There are pinball machines downstairs.

Good food in a great place to have a drink and see a game. Had the wings which were very good and the truffle tater tots were excellent. The service is very good and the bartenders are very nice and accommodating with great drink suggestions.

The bartenders and everyone working there are awesome. The wings were great. Solid beer selection with a long happy hour. Plenty of TVs on the walls for Sunday. A couple pinball machines if you're up for a game. Loved it

What a beautiful new spot on the UWS. You want a game to watch? they got it. You want a beer? they got it, you want delicious food? They got it!!! Can't recommend this place enough!!! You will be happy you went!!!

great atmosphere, loads of games to play. service was fantastic very helpful and friendly we had a blast hanging out with the bartenders and kitchen staff talking about southern pork meals. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO Chef Bri !!! she's as talented in the kitchen as she is beautiful. one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. drinks were delicious and prices are not bad. kid friendly and pets to if that's your thing. ill def be going back esp. for another meal made by her.

This neighborhood needed this place. But, it gets better - the people who work here are so lovely to one another - as well as embracing the patrons. That sounds so formal - because this is a place that is so chill and welcoming. I was 2nd customer - and proud - have been here more times to count. You can hang, you can play pinball, you can read, you can watch sports or chat with all the awesome people on both sides of the bar. Haven't had food except for fries and they might change your life. Depending on your life, I guess. The ones to ask for are Michael, Demetris, Annabelle, Alex (owner)...these are the ones I've just met.

This place is very cool spot with great bartenders. I would highly recommend checking it out. John and Mason are the best bartenders around.

Amazing place. Nice people, good food, plenty of TVs. So rare to encounter an NYC bar that is welcoming. Shout out to Demitri and his wife for being terrific hosts. Cant wait to return.

My husband and I previously had gone just us and our young daughter to watch a Yankees game and enjoyed the ambiance and apps we ordered, and more recently, we hosted an event at the Throwback last weekend when family was in town in the downstairs lounge - each time we had a great experience! They were so accommodating of our group with several small kids and sent out some kid friendly Mac and cheese wedges beyond the yummy food we had ordered. Would highly recommend them in general and for any events!

Friendly staff and a great place to watch a game with all the beverages and tasty food! When you arrive here, you are one of the gang.
