Seven Breakfast Burritos to Demolish in the Twin Cities

"Always expect plenty of options at Tiny Diner options. Patio or cozy inside sitting? Menu mainstay, or new dish paying homage to a geographical location? The breakfast burrito represents the best of all worlds, a menu mainstay that transports you south of the border when you add their red, white & green salsas: chipotle, creme, and salsa verde." - Eater Staff

On the Grid : Tiny Diner

"Tiny Diner is more than the chic, retro-modern diner, garden patio, and tasty all-day menu evident at a glance. The diner is a permaculture demonstration site, showcasing urban farming and efficient water use through edible gardens and rain water catchments systems, making for the ultimate small-scale, local, and environmentally responsible dining experience. Tiny Diner also hosts a summer farmer's market and provides skillsharing workshops for members of the community to learn about growing soil, preserving produce, capturing water, and renewable energy. Whether you're just stopping in for a burger and a shake or thinking about turning your backyard into a rain garden, Tiny Diner makes your dreams attainable." - Teagan White

We went for brunch and the food was delicious, particularly the Tex Mex Bowl. The pickled onions made the dish. The patio is nicely shaded and comfortable. I appreciate that they grow their vegetables onsite and emphasize organic. They serve lattes and cocktails as well. It was a great experience including good service.

The food was phenomenal and the staff was even better. There was no bad bite. Both inside and outside seating available. This place is an absolute must

Google
Neighborhood was excited to have this re-open (ok, Reddit was excited). Went with 2 kiddos noon. Service was really bad, not just for me but for others. I believe they're still working kinks out. Still, service was bad enough that we took a long walk after to shift our energy. Waiter did not seem interested in waiting on our table in particular. We had to ask for every condiment (water, salt and pepper, cream and sugar, syrup). Our waters never got refilled. Long waits between everything. Etc., etc. It wasn't just our table, as we saw others in the wait game. Just poor service all around. Food was fine. I sincerely wish them the best in working things out and hope they stay around. The other customers all seemed very lovely and it was a really sweet mix of people dining. Maybe it's just not the place for me/my family? We won't be back for a while. My teen never - service was, again, REALLY weird/bad.

Google
Extremely mid tier food, service, and atmosphere (at least inside). I think I read that the ingredients were locally sourced, which is great. The inside was riddled with bugs, including one dead fella on the table beside us. Half the time we sat there just trying to swat flies away. The outdoor area seemed a bit more lively, I’d opt for it if I were to redo this visit The best item we tried were the hashbrowns - very crispy all around and quite delicious. Unfortunately, the burger, pancakes, fries, toast, eggs, and sausage were all just decent. The server was nice, but rarely checked in, and the place adds a 5% “service charge” to all checks. We will not be returning.

Google
Yay! This adorable Diner is open and the last time I was there was during their soft opening. I had an absolutely delicious potato hash with tofu and the service was excellent and I am so happy that they reopened and I would love to return next time I am in Minneapolis I love supporting indy businesses like this, and it was absolutely outstanding A+.

Google
Kim is incredibly kind & generous! She hosted the Denver Onyx rugby team for an amazing dinner :) The patio area is absolutely magical & the food is SO delicious! Highly recommend!

Google
Great discovery. SERVICE: We had a larger party, our waitress was very attentive. Our meal and drinks came out without much delay FOOD: I loved what I ordered. There were no comaints from anyone in our group. All meals met our expectations and was tasty. ATMOSPHERE: Inside and outdoor dining is available. I will go back.

Google
Hard to beat the energy at The Tiny Diner in the heart of Minneapolis. Great atmosphere with retro-modern decor, cozy nooks, ample outdoor garden patio and some off-street parking. Friendly staff serving locally sourced dishes, breakfasts, and fun cocktails and desserts. Thank you. Until next time!

Yelp
I love the food, the atmosphere and location. My favorite is sitting out on the patio. All the greenery feeds my soul. Their breakfast are great and I love their coffee. I have a friend who travels nine months out of the year when they're in Minnesota. We stop by every time.

Yelp
What a quaint neighborhood gem serving a delicious breakfast with great service! My parents and I were able to get a table right away here after checking 3 other brunch locations that had over an hour wait on Easter Sunday. The breakfast menu is a bit on the smaller side but I was able to order an espresso martini, the breakfast tacos, a side of bacon, and we split an order of 2 of their huge pancakes. I thought the potatoes in the tacos took away from the chorizo and egg flavor but the side of bacon was so perfectly cooked I had to order another serving! The heritage flour pancakes were also very fluffy and tasty. With my parents visiting from NJ, the location was convenient also because we got to see the George Floyd memorial right after breakfast. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back soon and enjoying their outdoor patio with my food!

Yelp
This place has the best atmosphere on the patio and great community events. I attended one of their workshop classes that was a lot of fun and well organized. The patio is surrounded by a garden which in July is in full bloom was beautiful. Their farmer's market and live guitar music made the experience worth it. The food was very disappointing and overpriced. The service was fine. I had the Singapore noodles with chicken. Traditionally Singapore noodles are spicy or at least have some spicy to them served with roasted pork and shrimp. I understand their aesthetic is boutique farm to table so the recipe will be different but it doesn't mean put no flavor in or the sauce is just oil and curry powder. The chicken was cooked and flavored well - easily the best part of the dish. The noodles were pretty al dete and had many sauceless spots. The dish comprised of 3 veggies, noodles, very little sauce and the chicken which was $17. This is easily a $7 make at home meal that at least would have more spice and more complex curry flavor. This is one of the few entrees on the dinner menu that as a bonus is dairy and gluten free but its just not good. Please do not get this dish! The BF had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich which was good. The turkey was thick and avocado perfectly ripe and buttery. There are so many places that serve similar and better food.

Yelp
We stopped in for brunch and happy to be seated right away. The Tiny Diner is super charming and was very comfortable. I ordered the huevos rancheros on recommendation of our server. It came with a plate full of beans on top of fried tortillas, with eggs and I ordered sausage with it. Everything was cooked perfectly, it just had ZERO seasoning. The beans were super bland. I added salt, pepper and hot sauce to jazz it up, but still a bit blah. I'd go back to try other options. My friend had the grilled cheese and said it was great!

Yelp
I enjoyed the service and fresh ingredients. The outside dining is open and inviting. I really enjoyed walking through the garden and the ecosystem they created.

Yelp
Walking into this establishment gives a cute, diner-type feel. My husband and I visited for a late lunch and sat outside on the patio. It was mostly covered to block the sun, and the seating was typical patio seating. There was a bit of a language barrier with the server, but that was not a problem when it came to ordering; smiles are universal! :) The water served was room temp which was off-putting. the burger appeared to be just a frozen beef patty that you'd find at a grocery store. It had more bread than anything else and looked very unappealing with the cooked onions and sauce, it looked 'gloopy'. My husband's gravy from the biscuits and gravy entree was very thick, stationary, and slightly cold. I don't think I'd return here nor would I recommend it.

Yelp
They definitely have one of the best patios around. All around a really cool place and great for littles because they can run around a little bit. They also have bees on the roof which is insane in my opinion! Unfortunately when we went they very extremely understaffed so everything just took a little longer but no one was in a rush and we were just able to enjoy time talking outside. Even though the food did take a while it was all very good with plenty of vegetarian options.
google avatar

Yelp
A lot of options to pick from which is great. We sat outdoors but I'm not sure how the indoor seating situation is. The service was great and the food was good but nothing exceptional

Yelp
A great place for breakfast! They have a lovely patio space and we easily got seats on a Saturday morning. Started off with warm beverages. My husband got a caramel latte. He wasn't blown away. I went with the microbrewed masala chai and my husband kept trying mine. It's heavy on the cinnamon but overall pretty good. My husband loved how creamy my drink was and will probably be getting the chai next time. My husband got the biscuits and gravy with a side of chorizo. Tiny diner does a mushroom gravy so it was a hard pass for me since I think mushrooms are horrible! My husband said the gravy itself was pretty bland but went he mixed in the chorizo, the dish was way better. I tried some of his chorizo (a bite not tainted by mushroom gravy) and agreed that the chorizo was very good! I went with one pancake and added bananas with a side of hashbrowns. The hashbrowns are not seasoned so adding a little salt and pepper helped. I think some people would be bothered that they don't season the hashbrowns but I personally liked picking how much salt and pepper I wanted. The hashbrowns themselves were crispy and really that's what matters! Our favorite part of the meal was the pancake. Soft on the inside but with crispy edges. I also loved that the batter they used. This is not a traditional fluffy buttermilk pancake batter. It's made with wheat flour and I'm going to tell myself that it's a healthier option so that I don't feel so bad about eating that all up! We were so full at the end of our meal. It might not look like a lot of food at first but so filling! I also loved that tiny diner does reasonable prices for breakfast food. Service was great. They do allow dogs on the patio. We spent a lot of our meal petting someone else's dog. There is a small parking lot available. Otherwise street parking is within a block or two!

Yelp
Came for lunch with my toddler and husband. Service was pleasant and they had the bees under control so the garden patio was great. My Macro bowl was healthy and delicious. Will be back!

Yelp
Stopped here with a group of fifteen after visiting George Floyd Square. We chose to eat inside on this summer day, but the patio did look inviting. The staff did a great job with our group, seating us quickly. Our orders were taken efficiently after giving us enough time to look over the menu. Some of made choices from the breakfast menu with omelette and others chose various salads and sandwiches from the lunch menu. To a person we enjoyed our meal. We will visit this cafe again.

Yelp
The Dagwood sandwich was excellent, I was craving it so much I got it for breakfast.

Yelp
Oh, Tiny Diner. We came on Labor Day and waited about an hour for an outside table (super dog friendly). The food also took about 45 minutes which we weren't warned of when ordering but I did hear the hostess saying after we were seated that it was an hour for a table then another hour for the good. I guess people called in but I doubt many people there planned on spending their entire morning at breakfast. I'd already picked what I wanted before arriving and got the breakfast burrito with the sauces on top. I need more sauce for the upcharge as the soaked in quickly (or maybe just more sour cream or a salsa) but don't think it would have been the same without the sauce so definitely do that! Also had a bloody. It was fine. The concept of the restaurant is cute and love the sustainability!

Yelp
Went there for brunch and had to wait almost an hour to be sat even though there at least 10 empty tables. It didn't seem to be because of a staffing issue, because once we were finally given a table, we had at least 5 different waiters throughout the meal. We waited another 15 minutes to be served our drinks(just juice and water) and it was another 30 minutes before we finally got our food, which was almost inedible. I ordered the breakfast tacos, and they were so soggy that they instantly fell apart. There was also almost no flavor to them. As other reviewers have noted, the silverware was visibly dirty, not just water spots(which would have been fine) but there was evidence of previous meals dried onto them. We pointed this out and one of our many waiters said they would take care of it. It was at least 10 minutes before we got our new silverware, which was also dirty, but cleaner than the last. At this point we were fed up so we just used the silverware. After that it was another 15 minutes before we got the bill, to do so we had to flag down one of the several waiters who were standing around the pos system having a conversation and ignoring their tables. The waiter who brought us our check was visibly annoyed that we had interrupted their conversation. Far and away the worst dining experience I have ever had. I would give this place zero stars if it was possible. There were also numerous dead and dying flys on the windowsill next to our table.

Yelp
I am a fan of the Tiny Diner. So sad that I have not visited this restaurant before. I'm in the Powderhorn neighborhood at least 2x a week and have road by too many times. DON'T BE LIKE ME! Parking: The lot is pretty small, you may have to find street parking. I however had great parking right at the front door. Ambiance: There's a patio that has a nice ambiance and makes you want to sit outdoors. That particular day i visited... my body craved AC. Indoors, it's larger then you would expect... ample seating. Food: I had the dill fried crispy chicken sandwich and a lavender mimosa. The sandwich was good, crispy, but i left me wanting to ask for more dill seasoning on the side to put on top of my sandwich. It was pretty light. From what i noticed, it's part of the breading. it came with a pickle and a choice of fruit or chips (which Ithink they made). The lavender mimosa was amaaazing. Loved it. Service: My server was pleasant and attentive and the host was pleasant as well. i will be back. I enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
Love the concept and outdoor seating at this restaurant (though I don't know how these hardy Minnesotans manage to eat outside in sub-60-degree weather without heat lamps - I've gotten soft from all the years of living in California). The service was adequate, neither outstanding nor horrible. What I didn't love was the food. Started with a chai tea, which was quite tasty. Biscuits were exceptionally large but largely tasteless and a bit on the dry side. IMO, biscuits should practically flake apart and melt in your mouth - these did neither. I did like the house-made preserves, which were quite gingery. Hash browns were unremarkable. The blueberry pancake was really disappointing. There was an adequate amount of blueberries, but the pancake itself was a little greasy on the outside and a bit rubbery and tasteless on the inside. Cute place, but I wouldn't be asking to come back.

Yelp
On the day after Thanksgiving, hubs and I were in the mood for vegetables so when we went to my cousin's to pick something up, we asked if she was hungry and she suggested Tiny Diner. We popped over and luckily there wasn't a wait (it was past the lunch rush). The place is so cute and everyone working seemed content and cheerful. I ordered the beet salad, my cousin ordered some sort of healthy bowl (she does that) that had chick peas in it and maybe kale or something, and my husband got singapore noodles because he was intrigued (even though he said he wasn't going to have carbs. He does that). Everyone loved what they got. If we weren't still hating ourselves from Thanksgiving, we might have gotten the special pancakes to split for dessert-- they sounded amazing (some sort of s'mores thing). We had to go shopping and run other errands, otherwise I would have ordered a beer-- I was very impressed by their beer list, which sounds pretty rare for a diner but maybe isn't for Minneapolis. Will definitely go back!

Yelp
What a hidden GEM! There was only one person serving on a Friday afternoon but she was so gracious and so excellent. The food and drinks were excellent with little to no wait! The restaurant inside and outside is gorgeous and proudly stands for inclusiveness, community, diversity and equality! Love it.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the Tiny Diner! The outdoor patio is one of the cutest in Minneapolis, so stop by before it gets too chilly out. Lauren was our server and she was incredible! She really took care of us and was so helpful with the menu. I got a salad and a side of fries, which was the perfect amount of food. I also had a couple of their cocktails, which I definitely recommend trying. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Emily Z.

Yelp
Tiny Diner is a solid 4 in my opinion. Didn't get the inside seating eThey have the cutest outdoor space ever with their fresh gardens surrounding it. I loved the aesthetic of the place a lot and it was perfect for a not-so-hot summer brunch. I got the green onion scramble which was cook with cream cheese (never would've thought of that but it really works). Their hash browns were really good but not the best I've had (could've used a little more favor and crisp). I subbed my toast for a biscuit instead and it was pretty good with the jam that I asked for on the side (it needed some butter but by the time I realized, I was almost done with it). Average though for being a house made biscuit. The drinks were really delicious. I got the grapefruit white wine spritzer and my friend got the orange drink. Both were perfectly sweet (not overly sweet) and refreshing. I loved how we got $4 happy hour drinks anytime as our check in deal on Yelp.
google avatar

Mikayla K.

Yelp
Food: I ordered a glass of house white and the grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was super tasty, although $10 for two pieces of bread and cheese seems a bit much. The food was tasty but so expensive for what it was; an all natural boujee little coffee shop menu. Venue: This is a super cute restaurant with good ethics and sustainable food. HOWEVER, the service is spotty at best. They seemed to be way under staffed and we often didn't see our waitress.
google avatar

Jerry P.

Yelp
If you are anywhere near the George Floyd Memorial in Minneapolis, you must, must, must, make your way to the Tiny Diner. If I could open a diner, it is everything that I would do, organic, sustainable, locally grown. The only thing missing is trains.
google avatar

Marilee K.

Yelp
Great place, sustainably focused, great food and service! Lovely atmosphere! We will be back!
google avatar

Simon Y.

Yelp
Nice cozy place. They have a really good lavender lemonade! Food was not bad. Service could be better. One of them was pouring water and spilling every where on the table and she didn't care. Most importantly, service is really slow. It's been almost 45 minutes since we stepped in and we still had no food. We had condiments come out every like 15 minutes. I waited almost an hour for a $13 salad. I asked for the check as soon as the food came out and she didn't split the receipt even. This place looked good but it was v disappointing. More so bc this was a study break for the week and was looking forward to it. Recommend going to a diff brunch place.
google avatar

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Minneapolis' Powderhorn neighborhood, Tiny Diner offers charming ambiance and an ample patio space perfect for summer dining. Their menu is diverse and offers plenty of customizable options, making it a good spot for folks with a variety of palates. There's a tiny parking lot out front, but amply opportunities for street parking.
google avatar

Shannon A.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and was disappointed both times. Super cute place but the food isn't very good. Plus our current experience was over the top bad. We ordered egg hash with scrambled rather than poached and they brought us poached, very raw. No big deal, but when we sent it back they brought the same plate back with scrambled eggs on top. Had to send it back again and a new order came back with missing ingredients. In addition, the potatoes were undercooked and greasy. We just ate what we could stomach and asked for the check. No discount or apology. Definitely won't be coming back.

Susan J.

Yelp
Yesterday, I visited the Tiny Diner for the fifth and final time. What's happened to this formerly appealing place?! The patio remains inviting, and the service is fine, but the food and prices? Ugh. My two companions ordered the Beet Salad, which was basically a pile of arugula topped with a sprinkle of feta; beets were few and far between. My (unfortunately dubbed) Bad Breath Burger tasted okay, but the presentation was ridiculous: a smallish burger placed in the middle of an otherwise bare dinner plate, no pickle, no chips, no tomato slice, no nothin'. In sum, the food is mediocre and skimpy, but at least it's overpriced (pennies shy of $42 for the above, no beverages). Too bad, because the Tiny used to be a sweet, funky, dependable neighborhood gem. Not any more, alas.
google avatar

Pie E.

Yelp
Friendly staff and simple menu, asked for recommendations as it first time visiting "Tiny Diner" (a not so tiny place). I ordered a Dagwood sandwich is a very good choice and I can highly recommend it. The Dagwood sandwich comes with kettle chips, my favorite type of chips, lightly salted. Forgot to ask if they were made in-house or store bought, anyway they taste great. One thing that could be improved, the ham could have a bit more flavor. Would I try this place again, yes I would, unfortunately I will most likely not have an opportunity, as I live in south Florida and we just stumbled on this place as our initial place didn't have any seating, it was a takeaway place only.
google avatar

Hailey B.

Yelp
Such a cute place! I really enjoyed the service and food. I was able to sit outside and enjoy the lavender soda which is AMAZING! Food was really good as well. I highly recommend stopping here!

Yelp
Factoring in the extensive patio available when weather permits and the relatively capacious interior, the Tiny Diner is surprisingly commodious. Additionally, it has more the feel of a hip, breezy North Shore cafe than an urban diner. So... maybe Tiny Diner is a bit of a misnomer. But it's such a good name and rolls off the tongue much more easily than, say "Bigger Than it Looks Stylish Yet Funky Eatery." So yeah, I'd stick with Tiny Diner. Bonus, they have a pleasant organic garden that one may stroll through in season. Anyway, I love a hearty meal to start the day and Tiny Diner can accomodate. Pancakes are stacks of substantial yet fluffy goodness to which one may add bananas, walnuts, granola, bacon bits, blueberries or chocolate chips (each add-on $.50). The egg sandwich is piled high with your choice of ham, bacon or chorizo, gruyere and mixed greens between grilled english muffin. Huevos Racheros is a fresh, non-greasy, delicious take on this classic with a pleasant spicy kick. Friendly, efficient wait staff. Very reasonable prices considering the quality and quantity of food served. Plenty of parking in the lot or on surrounding streets. I know I'll be back soon at other times of the day to try lunch and dinner offerings.

Yelp
I love breakfast.. Have you ever gone to a diner and it's just dirty and filthy? Well, this diner is by far the opposite of that. It's cute, modern, clean.. Actually quite hipster. Typical customers: families in the area. Young Newley wed type with their little baby. Lots of hipsters. Pricing: not bad!! Food: I ordered the breakfast of champions! This comes with 2 short stack pancakes, 1 hash brown, scrambled eggs, and your choice of bacon, sausage or chorizo. I like to think I have a tiny appetite and I demolished the WHOLE THING (with just a little help from the boyfriend) although I could have honestly ate it all. Service: the food tastes great when the service is great. True fact. Our waitress was super helpful and helped us get the happy hour discount from the Yelp check in. Try the sangria! It's a small cup but this sangria will make you feel it. Recommend: yes!! Come a little before 12. Because it gets packed during lunchtime Am I coming back! You know it :)

Yelp
Beautiful garden patio, friendly staff, fresh and delicious food! All four of our meals were excellent and the outdoor seating was shaded and surrounded by plants.

Alex M.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere, deeply considered ethics. Servers are kind and knowledgeable. Yummy food.

Yelp
So yummy, so cute, so perfect for a Sunday brunch. The Bunny Mary was delicious! A tasty carrot juice based spin on the bloody with dill and cucumber vodka. Totally would come back for this. The meal was great as well, and my friend and I both joined the clean plate club after devouring every bite of our brunch. She had the green onion scramble, and I enjoyed two egg whites scrambled with hash browns and toast. Service was casual, friendly, prompt, but not overbearing. I'll definitely be back. Especially once patio season starts again!

Yelp
Eating well while doing good. Tiny Diner's patio is open and all tables are sanitized between guests. I had the adobo beef and brown rice bowl and my husband had the Singapore noodles with fried chicken. Both were delicious. The poached eggs in adobo beef bowl were cooked perfectly and the beef was delicious. Illustrated how eating healthy can be delicious. The Singapore noodles had peas which provided a satisfying crunch. Service was super friendly.

Mike E.

Yelp
I LOVE this place, but the quality control has really slid. Runny eggs, flavorless beans, tiny hash browns. Other places are trying harder than this.
google avatar

Yelp
Small quaint place that's great for comfort food made from scratch, some "healthy" fair, an adult beverage, or coffee. They have a full bar on one end of the restaurant and the other end houses the kitchen that looks like your typical diner. Prices were fair for the food we got as well. Friend got the black bean burger with fries--she gave it 2 thumbs up. I loved the fries--Please don't judge me when I say this, but they tasted like gourmet McDonalds fries! We shared the cheese curds, they were lightly breaded and not to gooey. I had their soup & 1/2 salad deal--coconut curry soup that had a hint of sweet and lots of fresh veggies in it paired with their kale salad--"massaged" kale, cabbage, and slivers of almonds tossed in a delicious vinaigrette. They offer 4 amusing varieties of Bloody Marys all 4 mixes made in house: one with a carrot juice base, another with green tomatillo base, and one with dill Aquavit. Being a purist at best, I stuck to the classic--a hint of spice, lots of peppercorns, served with a couple of cheese curds on a stick and a pickle spear. Yum! Docked one star because service was a bit slow. We needed napkins and silverware when our food was served; I had to go galavanting through the restaurant looking for a server or bartender to give me some. Haven't been in the warmer months but the patio looks amazing and I hear they have a garden & farmers market too.

Yelp
Wow, I cannot believe I have not been here yet. I absolutely love it here. We arrived on a Friday evening and this place was kind of packed outside. We sat inside. The food is amazing! We had two types of burgers, Grass-Fed Beef Burger and Green Chile burger. Both burgers came with a side of chips, wished I had substituted for fries. The two people we met up with had ordered kale salad and some other vegetables that I forgot. I thought Green Chile burger was super delicious because it a little spicy and sour which I liked. Their drinks menu are pretty good too. I had champagne with sugar cube now that was something very refreshing! Wish I had pictures to show it but I did not want to interrupt our discussions. Next time. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely. Their patio is big enough for you see their garden. Everything is organic here! I will definitely come back!

Yelp
We were excited to support a local business and get a delivery from Tiny Diner as I have been there for Lunch and Dinner on their patio / inside a few times - and had a nice experience. The wait staff has always been friendly, the atmosphere is great and food fun. But I was extremely disappointed with our breakfast this morning. I hate to call them out but I wanted to be honest. I ordered the vegetable hash. It left much to be desired and I was left extremely disappointed. First note: 1) It's under the "Big Tiny Breakfast Section." - First deception. It was Tiny.. not big. M "tiny" scramble that barely filled 2/3 of the bottom of 4x6 box and it laid super flat. 2) Listed "Seasonal vegetables and Hash"... The veggies? Just a touch of chopped kale, a LOT of large cut snap peas for filler and asparagus. Yum right? This was unfortunately very bland and completely under cooked- Crunch crunch on those snaps. Bring on the hot sauce and seasoning. 3) "Poached Egg".. Yum - I thought - some runny delight to add to the nice veggie hash I was going to get. Nope - Poached hard, overcooked. I could have bounced this baby. *sad face.* I should have tried my luck with the breakfast sandwich. 4) Toast. Dry and bland. My SO ordered the breakfast burrito, A breakfast burrito. Sounds like a safe bet? Looks good from the photos and avocado on the side. Well Tiny it is.. disappointing too. And no side of avocado. Some weird coleslaw veggie side combo on the side. And want sauce with your burrito to match those pretty pictures? EXTRA COST....Seriously :(... a burrito without sauce is like salad without dressing. unless you want to pay extra for that ... Just wanted you to know... From what I read - I don't think its the staffs fault but the owner appears to have some issues to work through. My two cents.

Yelp
I've been here a few times over the last couple years, most recently the other day for breakfast. There's a decent amount of parking - a small lot and lots of street options. The interior is cute, with many small tables scattered around. Maybe not great for a large group. They have a gorgeous patio, which is great to enjoy during the summer and fall months. We sat outside, even though it was about 55 degrees after our patch of sun shifted. But it was so clear and beautiful outside, the chill was worth it. My friends and I all ordered the breakfast burrito, and I also got one chocolate chip pancake to seal the deal. (I'm a big proponent of balancing my sweet and savory.) The breakfast burrito was amazing. I opted to not get the red, white, and green addition (a gorgeous slathering of salsa and sour cream). When I saw it on my friends' plates I regretted the decision, but as soon as I took my first bite I was happy to discover more than enough delicious and complex flavor. (I'm not saying don't get the red, white, and green. I'm just saying it was still amazing. But definitely get it.) The texture of the potatoes stuck out to me as being absolutely perfect - they were shredded hash brown style as opposed to chunky like breakfast potatoes - and it was divine. The pancake (which was enormous, glad I only ordered one) was beyond incredible. I am a pancake snob - only make them from scratch at home, and I'm pretty judgmental of restaurant pancakes. This took the damn (pan)cake. (Oh no, dad joke. Sorry.) It was fluffy but substantial, and had great mouth feel. So so so happy. We had such a wonderful breakfast, I really can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Food was great! They have a great patio to sit outside at. The staff was working their butt off. However, I did feel for them as customers were being rude to the staff. Remember to be kind to the staff as they are trying their best with this new normal. :)

Yelp
Great South Minneapolis Powderhorn Park Permaculture Summer Hangout for outdoor patio people-watching plus local craft brews or old-fashioned shakes & malts! Themed menu also changes monthly ...

Yelp
Good healthy food even if it's a burger from here and not healthy the food has a local and nourishing feeling to it. Drinks are made without much sugar and are refreshing. I hate surgery drinks. The employees look happy and are nice. For sure on of the best spots with real community feel.

Yelp
This place is so cute!! I came for dinner a couple weeks ago and loved the space. We had accidentally mixed up our reservations so we ended up having to wait for a table but it only took about 15 minutes before we were seated. We tried a mix of food and cocktails. There's quite a variety of drinks and beers to choose from (and if you check in you get a $4 happy hour drink at any time). I ordered the veggie burger and it was really tasty! It was the most different veggie burger I've had-- solely because it wasn't made out of mushrooms or black beans or anything.. but actual veggies. It was great. The french fries were good too (not my favorite, but still good). I really enjoyed the chicken wings! Whatever kind of breading on it is delicious, and I wanted to keep eating them even though they were just our appetizer. I love that they have burger specials so things are always changing up. The one they had when I went was a Wisconsin-cheese kind of burger. I enjoyed it! The club sandwich is HUGE. Like that thing can feed a whole family. It is stacked. You definitely get your money's worth for it. The fried chicken sandwich is also delicious. I think if I had to pick a favorite I'd say the chicken dishes would win. There a small parking lot just right outside of the diner. There's also plenty of street parking all around so it shouldn't be too difficult to find a spot!

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but I keep experiencing disappointment on my visits. The decor is interesting. There are cork board ceilings, simple light fixtures with grade school seating. It's cute on the inside and the outside. There's a decent sized patio with lots of seating. When it comes to the coffee, I have to say, it's very good! Unfortunately last time I was in, it took so long to get coffee that I had forgotten about ordering it. Yes, it was a busy day but I was a bit confused about the way in which things were being handled. There were several empty tables that were left vacant so the kitchen could catch up with the high volume of orders. This meant that there was a wait for inside seating. What's strange is that outside seating was available right away. Regardless of seating, the orders go to the same kitchen. I had the Breakfast of Champions. I thoroughly enjoyed the pancakes. They were really voluptuous and delicious. The accompanying syrup was really fantastic as well. However, the rest of the meal was average. Despite my past disappointment here, I will most likely give this place another go in the future because there is something charming about it.

Yelp
I'd been reading about the excitement surrounding the opening of Tiny Diner on Eater for a few months, so when I found myself looking for a place for brunch on Sunday morning, Tiny Diner was my first choice. First of all, I loved the atmosphere - diner with an outside patio and garden. I also was pleasantly surprised that there was no wait for my group of 4 at 10:30am (I don't think people have discovered how good this place is yet). Our server came over and greeted us promptly, welcoming us to the restaurant, and explaining that the menu had dishes inspired from Philadelphia, PA this month. He also explained what "scrapple" was (we had googled it and it came up as "pork mush"), and made it sound much more appetizing. He genuinely seemed excited about multiple items on the menu. Everyone in my group loved their breakfast choices, including myself. I had the green onion cream cheese scramble with hashbrowns and wheat toast. The toast came with homemade strawberry jam - yum! I also tried a bite of the scrapple and a banana chocolate chip pancake. Both were delicious. Prices were good and portions were on the smaller-side (only 1 slice of toast with the scramble), but still plenty of food that I left feeling full. I will definitely be going back to Tiny Diner for lunch or dinner, and to try their beer cocktails!

Yelp
When I think "diner" I often think of canned corn beef hash and pancake mix from a box. But Tiny Diner couldn't be further from that nightmare. Here, they use local and fresh ingredients, and even have their own garden and solar panels. A++ If I didn't love the concept already, the check-in offer for a $4 Happy Hour drink at any time was the icing on the cake. So I roll up Saturday morning (street parking) with my heart set on a big breakfast burrito, side of hash browns, and grapefruit wine spritzer. I had made reservations, got a confirmation email and everything, but sadly I was somehow not in the system. But we still got seated in a timely fashion, thankfully. I loved the burrito fillings, especially the chorizo and hash browns. However, it was a barely warm. I also was a huge fan of their red salsa that was drizzled on that bad boy. I wanted a little more, but our waitress didn't check back in and so I had to eventually flag her down. Still, the flavors were so good I scarfed everything. After eating, we took a quick stroll through their garden - full of edible plants and a really cool hut thingamajig. Points for the thingamajig.

Yelp
Cute little diner. Great customer service. I would recommend the french fries. Skip the chips and salsa.

Yelp
Though it looks super small from the outside, it's actually not as tiny as you'd think. Two of us went for brunch at around noon on a Saturday and there was no wait at all, though I wouldn't come with a group bigger than 4 without a reservation. They have a small parking lot in front but there was ample street parking close by too. The menu: small but nicely refined. A little on the spendy side for a casual brunch spot, but the quality was definitely there. They change some of the menu every month with a different theme - this month was Washington DC. Staples included a fried chicken sandwich and crab cake eggs benedict! I opted for the breakfast burrito + red white and green salsa, it was so good! Extremely filling, it could have easily been shared between two people. The service was prompt and friendly, attentively refilling drinks and the food came out fast. I'll be keeping an eye on their monthly menu changes for sure!
