"Located directly under Chelsea Market, this place does get packed on weekdays around 7, or whenever YouTube and the other companies in the building get out of school for the day. But it attracts crowds for a reason: tons of space, big tables, and a rotating menu of alcoholic frozen drinks." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
"The Tippler is already the unofficial gathering place of people who work at Google, Facebook, and other companies in the Meatpacking area, so if you have the pleasure of working at one of those places, you probably don’t need us to tell you about it. (You also definitely have copious amounts of free beer in your offices, so we also don’t really feel bad about not telling you anything new.) Anyway, located under Chelsea Market, The Tippler is a big space with lots of fun cocktails - including some frozen ones. Grab your Google (or non-Google) friends and head there." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
"Right under Chelsea Market is The Tippler, or Manhattan’s version of a drinking playground. This bar has lots of space, lots of tables, lots of frozen drinks, and lots of people to meet. Yes, it can get packed around 7pm when everyone who works in the area congregates here, but at pretty much all other times there’s plenty of room for your group." - bryan kim, katherine lewin, neha talreja, kenny yang
"Located directly under Chelsea Market, The Tippler is a massive bar that’s useful for exactly two things: parties and group outings. If you need to organize a Happy Hour for everyone who works on your floor, come here. The subterranean room is filled with rugs, tables, and exposed brick, and there’s more than enough room for huge groups to mingle. There aren’t many snacks available, but you can bring in your own food from Chelsea Market." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
"Chelsea Market is popular for its diverse restaurants and food stalls, ranging from fresh lobster and seafood to tacos, crepes, and currywurst. Underneath the street level is a less visible but equally popular destination: The Tippler, a cellar-like bar with fixtures made of reclaimed wood and other industrial materials from the nearby High Line. The drink menu features throwback-era cocktails with cheeky names (Montauk Makeout; Poppy Don't Preach) and a beer selection including seasonal drafts on rotation. Pace yourself by adding a little something from the small plates menu to your order, say, a cheddar and scallion dip or the crack mix (rye bagel chips, corn nuts, and other crunchy treats)."
