"Toasted Yolk, the Houston-born brunch chain, has announced that it will open its first locations out of Texas in the next few years. Two new locations are already slated to open in Memphis, Tennessee, and Dothan, Alabama, according to the Houston Business Journal, with additional plans to expand into Florida. The chain, which was founded in 2010, has 15 locations in Houston and surrounding areas, with more local locations expected to open later this year." - Brittanie Shey

We just moved to Dothan and The Toasted Yolk was recommended to us by several people. I am glad to say the reputation of this restaurant is well deserved. The food was excellent, our server was very friendly and knew the menu very well. The food came out faster than I was expecting. Even though the place was busy our server was very attentive. The French Toast slices were massive and my wife said they tasted very good. I really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich, adding just a little hot sauce to give it an extra kick. The fries were lightly seasoned and had a very nice flavor to them. Nice selection of cocktails and beer. Overall very pleased with our visit and will definitely be back again.

🍳 Their delectably appetizing Alaskan Arnold is top-notch! The salmon they select for their eggs benedict is consistently thick, tender, and juicy. The extremely proud cook that prepared it came out, while I took pictures, to let me he specifically prepared my Alaskan Arnold. He deserves a shout out, but I don’t want to get his name wrong. Salmon eggs Benedict is a menu item I have ordered all over the country and he has every right to be proud as it is the best I have had thus far 🫶You can design your omelette and hashbrowns with toppings of your choosing and this is my spouses go to breakfast choice. The live Valentine’s Day musical artist Trey Merritt was unexpected and I still can’t stop glowing from how wonderful it was to listen to him while we enjoyed our Valentines meal. ❤️

Google
Food would have been a five but the kitchen didn't listen to the order and sent out the omelet with jalapeño in it. The bartender offered to have it made over when they realized what had happened. I had already eaten half the omelet, it was good I just didn't want jalapeños. That aside the food is very good the wait staff is attentive and the restaurant is clean.

Google
This was my first time going and it was fantastic! I got a caramel cold brew latte which had just the right amount of sweetness while still being able to taste the coffee. I also got the shrimp and grits which was great. The grits were seasoned well and the shrimp had a lovely, bright flavor. I will definitely be back!

Google
Love ,love the food but the service was sooo bad. It took us 30 minutes just to get drinks. The waitress was on her 1st day and forgot about us. I love their hashbrow casserole. Please I ask to train her .

My party came here mid-morning on a Saturday. We were sat within a couple minutes, and sat near the bar. The dining area was clean. The chairs and booths were all in good shape. Not much in the way of atmosphere, but I'll take CLEAN any day! I ordered the brisket taco with a side of fruit. The fruit was a great surprise, as I didn't expect much. The cup was large with fresh grapes, strawberries, and melon. Very nice! The tacos were ok. I liked the concept of eggs, potatoes, cheese, and brisket. There were a lot more eggs than brisket. The brisket itself was very good. The service was good. Visited us regularly. Overall, a good place to eat breakfast!

Google
The Toasted Yolk Cafe going off! In a major way. Everything slap! Drinks are bomb! Service is exceptional. Grits creamy. This Arnold going nuts! Tacos are taco-ing. So much flavor. Churro donuts are a must! Oh yea Ask for Rubi! She’s the best!

Google
Terrible shrimp and no sauce for the shrimp and grits. They tasted like chlorine. The waitress never came back to check on us. We waited 30.ins and ended up asking the hostess for help. We didn't have time to order anything else by then and never even had coffee refilled in that time. They did apologize and had us pay just for our coffee. But I feel at that point we shouldn't have even paid for that when we didn't even get refills.

Chris C.

Yelp
Went for brunch while visiting family over the holidays and had a great experience. Our server was so friendly and really took care of us. The churro style donuts are absolutely delicious! We shared the cordon bleu sandwich with a side of hash brown casserole. The sandwich was so fresh and packed with eggs and ham. The casserole was delicious and creamy. The coffee was hot and our experience was great. We will be back when in town again.

Yelp
If you are in a hurry to be somewhere, this is not the place to go. We were there for 1.5 hours. Service was slow but our server was sweet. I had the Garden bowl and added 2 eggs over medium. It was good, but too lemony with their house dressing. I needed to salt my dish to cut the dressing. My husband had the basic 2 egg breakfast. They were generous with the crispy bacon! They do not offer a simple side of scattered hash browns. It came with a hash brown casserole, which was mushy. NOTE! Bring your jacket with you and wear it inside the restaurant. It is freezing in there.

Natasha W.

Yelp
The food is okay. The service has never been good for me . The dining room is very nice. If the prices were not as high for the quality, I would probably go back. It's just not worth the price.

Tory B.

Yelp
Got here right as they were opening, after a long drive up from South Florida. We were greeted upon arrival. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is bright and cheery. The menu is pretty large with a lot of options. There is also a drink menu and everything sounds delightful! The caramel macchiato was delicious! They offer spiked versions as well! We started with they blueberry donuts and what a great decision, they came out warm and delicious! Kids ordered pancakes and they were perfection! Very large portion. The brisket tacos were great, highly recommended getting the hash brown casserole "loaded"- queso, chili & jalapeños- makes an already great side even better! The Southern fried Arnold was to good!! That chicken was absolutely delicious.

Shavonne J.

Yelp
I recently dined at The Toasted Yolk and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were promptly seated and greeted warmly by our waitress. I started with a cappuccino topped with whipped cream, which was hot, sweet, and wonderfully strong--just the pick-me-up I needed. For my main course, I opted for the English muffin topped with fried chicken and gravy. This dish was clearly made with care; the chicken was perfectly fried and the entire entree was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend The Toasted Yolk for a satisfying and enjoyable meal--you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This little gem was definitely a great find! I saw a billboard and then looked it up and we decided to check it out! The food was pretty amazing, so many eggs Benedict options, my sister got the salmon Benny and I got eggs cooked in sourdough toast with sausage, hash browns casserole Super delicious! The coffee mugs are my favorite and the decor was very tasteful (pun) I highly recommend and wish they'd build one of these in Panama City, FL

Yelp
Food was great, service was even better. There were 10 of us and everyone had an amazing breakfast. Will definitely be back to try even more items!

Jake B.

Yelp
Shannon was great. Very personable. Food was great. The cowboy is the way to go. Love this place. I will be back.

Da'Juan S.

Yelp
15 minute timer was set once we sat down, the food came out in under 10 minutes! The server was attentive and gave us her best options on the food. Will be back again for brunch.

Rhonda K.

Yelp
Food, Menu, Service, Atmosphere was better than expected, we will be back! Thank you Ruby

Mikey M.

Yelp
We decided to try toasted yolk out on a Sunday after about 1 hour and half before closing. We expected for it to be packed from how good we heard it was and it was pretty slow, good for us less wait and quicker service. The service was very slow seeing as we were one of the less than 5-8 groups of people in the restaurant, it honestly was pretty dead. Took about 10 mins to get our drink and almost 40 mins to get our food. Now the food was excellent you get your moneys worth for the food very big portion sizes so be prepared to eat! You will leave with a stomach ache from eating too much if you're not careful, their pancakes are the size of your face! It is a little pricey but you get your moneys worth. My only real complaint is the slow service for how dead they were.

Ken L.

Yelp
Drinks took an hour to come out. Ordered the eggs Benedict and the egg was hard boiled and also took forever to come out. Had to pick up my drinks from the bar after watching them sit there for 10 minutes. Just awful.

Tessa O.

Yelp
First off, Leigha was an absolute gem! She was the sweetest server and was so attentive to our needs. Our breakfast was delicious! We were visiting from out of town and travel a lot and this was our favorite breakfast we've had while traveling! We loved the coffee mugs so much we ended up buying 2 as souvenirs!

Lisa H.

Yelp
The food is great, nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff, and the management checks in occasionally to see how you are doing. We are not day drinkers, but the Mimosas and Bloody Marys look delicious.

Dee G.

Yelp
We always enjoy breakfast or brunch at Toasted Yolk. The menu choices are plentiful and the portions are large enough to take half home, so consider the price as for two meals. Although we arrived close to closing time the servers were helpful and we were not rushed.

Melinda C.

Yelp
This place seamed very new. You walked through the doors and they greeted you as well as had a very good display of the days promotions. They seated the two of us very quick and answered all my questions with a smile. We ordered two meals and they came out very fast. The shrimps and grits where very good to me. The pancakes where large and fluffy. I would order it again. I didn't try the drinks but when I return I will try them. Everything looked so appealing.

Yolanda W.

Yelp
Food and drinks were good. There's a small wait time however you can hang out at the bar to pass the time.

Leanna C.

Yelp
We were just passing through on our way from Birmingham back to Tampa, and found this gem. The service was phenomenal. Everyone was so nice. Our server, Miriam, was friendly and attentive, and had a great attitude. The atmosphere was bright, cheerful and fun. I love the decor and bright colors. The selection and offers were great, and they offered gluten free options for my kids and I. I wish i could pick this whole place up and take it home to Florida with me!

Fløyd L.

Yelp
Received Excellent customer service by Devin D. She was really friendly and welcoming The food was really delicious Was a peaceful and relaxing environment We sure Will been back agin.

Stormy M.

Yelp
Gets really busy so expect to wait a little. Wait staff is really fast and kind. Food great for a brunch place. Fried green tomatoes were amazing

Jeff T.

Yelp
You'll read in my bio that I especially like it when we have substantive interaction with our server wherever we go. I'd say, for the most part, we have success in this endeavor for a good connection. We'll lemme tell ya, this morning after placing our order I just had to get up and walk around this eclectic place. Taking in the ambiance as I strolled, I was greeted by the Manager Ben. We talked for a good fifteen minutes together, great guy! For starters, we were intrigued by the name of the restaurant. The Dothan location has only been open for six months as the twenty-first of 24 in The Toasted Yolk lineup. We very much enjoyed our breakfast. By the time I made it back to our table from the thoroughly delightful and engaging conversation with Ben, our meals had been plated and served. My wife had dug right in so there's no photograph of her dish. Enjoy the pics as they are marked with our orders from the menu. I don't usually post much of a review of the "Mens Facilities" but I'll just say it was spotless okay?

Richard W.

Yelp
The staff as friendly and cheerful first thing in the morning. Coffee was great. Service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive. Drew was our waiter and he added to the positive experience. The menu is varied without being overly complicated. The food was very good and the portions were right for the price. I'd definitely come back again.

S. R.

Yelp
Be very careful asking for a reservation. We had one for visiting family when we got there told we did not have one. Then told them we could do separate seating. While waiting 45 minutes several groups came in and were seated. We were then told we could not be helped. We had a group of 15 and said we would take a few tables.

Theresa P.

Yelp
My youthful gkidz decided to take us to this trendy spot after we received our spiritual food. What can I say, usually on a normal Sunday we do the traditional peas, greens. or whatever other soul food we can chug down. But to say the least we enjoyed this experiment... The food was very good, as well as the company. Our server went above and beyond... The staff was very friendly.

Lindsay Cooper C.

Yelp
It was busy but the wait wasn't long (the online waitlist thing was pretty cool) Our server was amazing, attentive and helpful. The food however was not that fabulous. This being our 2nd visit and our 2nd disappointing meal I know it wasn't an off or busy day reason. Considering the prices one would expect a bit better quality of food. The waffle was good, the sausage was ok and my fries were soggy/overly salty. The restaurant was clean, and even though it was packed it wasn't soo loud we couldn't think It was just the food that I wish had been better

MaryAnn W.

Yelp
Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was just overly loud and kids running free

Art M.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast and I ordered their two eggs deluxe. It's two eggs cooked to order with a choice of meat, cheesy hash, and English muffins. I also ordered their Toasted Coffee (Irish Cream) as my beverage. The meal was good. It was just your typical sausages and eggs, but I like the cheesy hash browns! They were quite busy so the food took a little bit longer to be delivered. Lastly, eventhough they were busy, they still had a "Service with a Smile!" I'd come here again to try their other entrées next time.

Rhonda J.

Yelp
This place continues to be one of my favorite places to eat! We have eaten at the bar the last two times and enjoy the atmosphere and staff at the bar - not only is the food good but you feel like you are with friends.

Jason F.

Yelp
What an amazing place! The staff is extremely friendly, the servers are very knowledgeable and made several recommendations. I really enjoy this location in Dothan, AL and cannot wait to be back soon! The manager was friendly and checked on me to make sure everything was perfect. Building and parking lot were clean and inviting.

Tomiko G.

Yelp
Scrimps & grits never disappoint. So delicious. This will be my stop on the way home after visiting family!

Kevin M.

Yelp
Posted. No firearms allowed. I have enjoyed meals here in the past. I don't know if the sign I saw today is new. We went elsewhere.

Eddie C.

Yelp
The food was really good but I feel like they have a ways to go to catch Another Broken Egg in quality of food and presentation.

John J.

Yelp
A very confusing menu with somewhat small portions. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The owner of this restaurant also owns Golden Corral. He is very cordial and friendly to customers.

Wesley C.

Yelp
Food was excellent and the service was great! Definitely will come back again! And the ambiance is different but really cool

Lindsey M.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, but the service was a little lack luster. Not sure if our server was having an off day, but we ordered coffees and a Bloody Mary. We got the golden gate omelette and biscuits and gravy with over medium eggs and crispy bacon. We received our omelette, bacon and eggs and the lady dropping our food off left and came back a few minutes later to ask us if everything was ok, since we hadn't touched our food. We said we didn't get our biscuits and gravy. She said oh ok, she came back a few minutes later and apologized. We started eating and were wondering where our Bloody Mary was and our server came with our drink 15 mins or so after we started eating. Wasn't a big deal, but was kind of strange. Just a personal preference, but the biscuites were crunchy and there wasn't a lot of gravy on it. I feel like a crunchy biscuit deserves a bit more gravy than a soft one. Also the eggs were very over easy. Omelette was good, but she asked us if we needed anything and we asked for a refill on coffee, she came back about 10 mins later, it wasn't very busy as it was a Monday morning. She then asked us when we were done if we needed anything like check boxes to go drinks? We said yes please a box and a to go coffee. She came right back out with the box and we sat and chatted while waiting for the coffee. She came out a little while later and asked if she could clear our dishes. I said sure, oh and could we get that coffee. I could tell she felt bad because she had forgotten and she apologized. Wasn't a bad experience just slightly off.

Ambrosia H.

Yelp
The food was spectacular, they even have gluten free options!!! We took a trip to visit my mother in the hospital from Virginia to Alabama and this breakfast was so wholesome and healing. The food was awesome, the restaurant is clean and fun and they even have the little yolk outside! And the best part of all was our server, she was so personable and lively and really knew the menu, (I feel bad I didn't get her name but she had blonde hair and a piercing) she was so awesome! Overall this was a wonderful ending to our trip. Better than Waffle House, ihop, Dennys, and Cracker Barrel combined!

Susan C.

Yelp
We stopped on a trip to Dothan, it was our first time! So glad we stopped! I had the golden omelet with hash brown casserole and English Muffin! Cranberry Mimosa with lime!. My husband had two eggs over easy with pork chop. Portions were very generous! Our server Faith H was super nice and efficient ! Asked if we were knew and with that sent us with their special Charro Donuts! We definitely return! Lunch menu looks amazing as well, may need to check that side of the menu next time! Great concept!

Thomas W.

Yelp
Excellent food from an imaginative Menu. Great service. Friendly, helpful staff and pleasant ambience! First time visit but won't be the last!

Christine M.

Yelp
The coffee, service (in the beginning), chicken sausage, and hash browns were delicious. This is the only place i've seen with chicken sausage so i really liked that. However the burrito was terrible. The inside was still cold and the potatoes inside, as you can see are old. I waited 20 mins for this to come to my table. When i was done my waitress didn't even think to ask if there was something wrong with the burrito that i politely took 2 bites out of. Charged me full price, and therefore, they suck for that. Make sure you speak up because a bill of 25 dollars for the plate you see wasn't worth it. Grade D food for grade A pricing and lack of good customer service (not saying staff was unkind at all to be clear). However, i'll come back for the two items i did enjoy.

Jason A.

Yelp
Really looked forward to trying The Toasted Yolk. Absolutely the worst service I have ever had in Dothan. Waited 30 minutes to be seated and one hour for food to arrive after we ordered. Many others around us were experiencing the same. Attitude of employees was pitiful. One and done !! Won't be back !!! Bring back Atlanta Bread !!!

Diana G.

Yelp
We had an amazing & delicious breakfast. The shrimp & grits were savory with a slight spicy kick. We also had the cowboy scramble and the French Toast. Service was excellent. I highly recommend checking this place out and will definitely return.

Lady A.

Yelp
Love this place nice brunch spot with great service and yummy food. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We had the shrimp and grits so tasty and very flavorful. The southern Benedict was cooked perfectly and very filling. The donuts are hands down my favorite a must get. I am so glad to find this gem definitely will be returning when I come back into town.

Mary P.

Yelp
Traveling through we stopped in during the soft opening on Saturday. The wait staff was great and helpful. I had The Toasted Yolk. It was so yummy and the bacon used was thick and just right. My husband had the brisket scramble. The smoky flavor of the brisket was great. Portions were generous. I also appreciate the way the manager treated us though we dropped in and had not been invited.

Cathy G.

Yelp
What a lovely find. The Toasted Yolk is a bright cheery restaurant with terrific servers.. We had their breakfast brisket tacos which were nicely prepared with ample brisket and eggs. Our breakfast came with cheesy potatoes, a fresh fruit salad and a perfectly made latte. We split the breakfast tacos, cheesy potatoes and fruit salad and both of us felt we had plenty to eat. Our server was absolutely charming and attentive in the best way. The manager checked on us twice. Our food came out quickly and we'll made. All in all it was a great breakfast experience.

Daniel Q.

Yelp
The food taste great. It runs a little pricey. This feels more like a high end restaurant in the area. Just be aware that this place is more like a modern brunch place then other establishments in the area. Don't be surprised if it runs above $30 per person when you include drinks. You do get a very pleasant experience for the money.

Homer F.

Yelp
Great food the service was also terrific! Our first time visiting and we came back the next day for more! I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone...

Miya C.

Yelp
This place has good food, great atmosphere & super kind staff and management! The Shrimp & Grits were full of flavor.

Javier G.

Yelp
I loved my experience here. The cowboy breakfast was delicious, the fruits was fresh and the coffee on point. Very good value per food. I look forward to attending this establishment once more

Ashley B.

Yelp
Marquita L. is the best. The food was great but the service was even better. Came back the next day because of her. If you go, I hope she's your server. Chicken and pancakes crispy but could be more seasoned.
