A fun choice with a view of the planes landing and taking off. Perfect for breakfast or lunch.
I'm always surprised when breakfast places have weak coffee, or coffee that's made in such large quantities that it turns bitter. Not expecting Starbuck's but do like a full-bodied blend. The Tower Grill coffee is very good and frequently refilled. Not done automatically, the server asked each time if it was ok to top off, a nice touch. Lots of other tempting beverage choices too.
My wife either has the "F-111" one egg breakfast with one piece of toast, two slices of bacon instead of ham steak or one sausage. If experimenting, she has the avocado toast with tomato, scrambled eggs and bacon bits. It usually has Everything Seasoning. The server also suggested having it on the side, a nice option. A good size portion, so I got a taste too. Loved that the bread was crisp so not soggy, chunks of avocado in the spread and meaty bits of bacon. There's Huckleberry Crunch French toast with granola, topped with whipped ream or just order traditional, but you are missing out.
I change it up each time, may indulge in the biscuit and gravy dish with two eggs over easy and added a side of bacon. Good balanced flavor of the sausage gravy which doesn't have a floury aftertaste like some places do, creamy with some sausage bits but topped with chunks of bacon. The biscuit was not overly dense, the combination had a nice balance. Really hungry? Order a half pound chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, eggs, skillet potatoes (with peppers) or an ample amount of hash browns. Save room to share a cinnamon roll, top it with lots of frosting.
For lunch, my favorite burger is the P-38. Under the top bun is a big onion ring, bacon, pickles, lettuce, thick slices of tomato and onion, plus BBQ sauce. The fish tacos are cod, paired with cabbage, chipotle, queso fresco and fresh-made Pico De Gallo. The Pastrami Reuben is served on buttered marble rye; the Grilled Cheese has a Parmesan-crusted sourdough..
Open 8 am till 3 pm and right now the owner/chef is showing off his inventive side with dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings. See the menu on the website www.thetowergrill.com
There is a unique ordering sequence. Take a seat, the wait staff brings you a menu, have a drink or water, when ready go up to the cash register, order and pay and get a number to take back to the table. If paying by cc and you want to wait to tip an amount, I'd suggest bringing cash.
The décor reflects the chef/owner Nate's long time family love of airplanes and has fun vintage style signage.
I've always had good meals here, service is friendly and energized, looking forward to trying more of the menu again, highly recommend.
