The Town Hall

What a beautiful & historic theatre (is a national historic registered building!) We came for an orchestra show & loved it! You can tell they have kept the theatre as original as possible. Great staff! Decent sized theatre, not huge but can pack in a decent amount of people. Loved the ornate touches like the grand chandelier & custom wood work around the stage. Great sound, lighting & the seats were surprisingly not too uncomfortable. Bathrooms on top floor as well as the drink station.

Came here for the Stardew Valley - Festival of Seasons orchestra and absolutely loved it. It was my first time in the venue, and I was worried about how seating might be prior to arriving, but it seemed like anywhere in the venue you'd have a good view. We were situated on the balcony and could see everything perfectly. Great sound and acoustics. I had a lovely night filled with some of the coziest video game music out there.

This is a great venue for smaller acts. I was in the loge section and had a decent view. I would say that due to the size all views are decent. I do wish they had a few more concession stands, as the ones that are there get very long lines.

Had no idea this cute roomy theater even existed, especially where every seat is a good seat! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to go. For an old theater, it was not bad at all, and in the heart of NYC! Only one issue, not enough restrooms. Otherwise, a real 💎

Always have had great seats. Bathroom locations a bit awkward. If you're seated in orchestra you need to go upstairs. Located in the theater district, we're always able to find a decent place to eat ahead of showtime.

Like much of the theater district, this is a wonderful part of history. The feel of the venue is one of warmth and intimacy. My only suggestion would be to re-cushion the chairs or at least offer portable pads for us older guys who have none of their own.

Went here to see Chris Fleming’s standup show. We sat in the rear mezzanine and had a great, unobstructed view of the stage. There was plenty of legroom. Bathrooms didn’t get too crowded. The theatre staff was friendly and helpful in locating our seats. Would come back.

This is an amazing venue. Been to two comedy shows and it's awesome. One thing I would say, aisle seats towards the back get very busy with doors opening and people coming and going. Much better off sitting more towards the middle the further back you are.

I attended a comedy show at Town Hall a few months ago, and found it charming and cozy. I've been to numerous Broadway theaters in the past, but this was my first time going to an event hosted in the 1,500-seat venue. The seats are comfortable and the acoustics are great - I could hear every word clearly. There wasn't much room for the merch vendor at the entrance, but the staff managed to make it work; they routed the ticket scanning and security lines so that most guests ended up in front of the merch table before finding their way over to the seating area. They don't serve food (only drinks), so I'd recommend eating beforehand. For a theater that opened over 100 years ago and is now considered a national historic landmark venue, Town Hall is very well-maintained. I'd definitely see another comedy show here in the future.

Came here for a Comedy show. Nice venue, with old school charm. The bathroom is down the catacombs in the basement. If you need to seat belt extender on airplane you may not like sitting here. also there's no cup holders. i would have bought a alcoholic drink but I didn't t want to hold it during a show where clapping or grabbing my hands and holding my belly for a hee hee haw haw is involved. The show was good but sitting in between my huge friend and a stranger who had way too many buffets was not fun.

I enjoyed many of the programs put on five various organizations and artists renting the hall. Unfortunately the administrative staff I encountered (certainly not all) of corporate office is very unprofessional, undedicated, Unqualified, uncaring, And without a clue on how to conduct business or foster Interpersonal skills with ticket holders. This all falls under the executive Director. He is responsible for each and every employee. And they didn't look very busy twice I've seen them at different events and in fact they were hanging around talking to each other instead of interacting with customers to perhaps sell subscriptions, additional performances, memberships. They probably feel it's not their job because they obviously never attended any business classes. They PUGHT TO. During the time the three of them were talking among themselves at the last event I attended, they should have been able to sell at least three memberships if they were that excited about their jobs! I certainly would have accomplished that easily.... At the very least, while providing excellent customer care. They have zero follow up skills also and do not return calls or acknowledge emails. Attend the performance but if anything becomes a concern or needing follow up, you can forget about it at Town Hall under this current management. The Ushers are wonderful. Too bad they have to suffer a low rating but don't blame the delivery person!! Bring those who caused it and that person is not me. I definitely suggest the other half and of course the Met Opera as your first choice when considering donating or ticket purchasing until they clean up their act at Town Hall. They really should be more mindful because we customers have social media!! Hire people with formal business backgrounds And monitor your employees. Three employees talking among each other when there are so many customers in the area now it's certainly lack of or in adequate, inappropriate SUPERVISION!! I am Dale Carnegie and intl airline TRAINED In addition to being a former top patron fundraiser at major NYC. I have also had positions where I had to hire and train employees And therefore I can pick know a Great employee as well as a terrible one within an instant, not a lone Following a pattern.

This is a cute, small, easy to access theater. We came to watch a podcast taping. It didn't seem like there were any bad seats. The entrance line was very quick-- security only took a second.

Came to Town Hall Theater to see the members of the show, Ghost Files. The evening started with a sneak preview of the latest one hour episode and was followed by a long Q &A session. The theater is very nice, has comfortable seats, the stage is large, and the acoustics are comfortable.  Overall, the event was entertaining, very funny, and this show has a very large following.

Staff was very nice & pleasant! Place looked really classy inside. I would attend another event @ this location!

I went for the first time as my friends invited me to the Arturo O" Farrill Band Concert. The place was packed, a sold out house. The show was great, Afro-Cuban jazz music and featured Pedrito Martínez, Daymé Arocena, Jon Faddis and Donald Harrison. Great music, at the end we stood up and danced encouraged by the performers. A long great history this Hall has and it could be seen by the pictures of the different great performers throughout the Hall. A NYC Gem of a place there is no bad seat in the house.

How have I not been to this venue when I've been to so many across the boroughs? Town Hall was an amazing theater that you can feel the history in. They are a non-profit so please consider supporting them by heading to a show. I came here for A Drag Christmas, and had THE best experience. My cousin and I splurged a bit on the tickets so we can do the meet and greet and it was well worth it. The show started at 8p, but we got there for the VIP perks. We were able to stand on stand at 6p for a photo op and the system they had in place was very efficient. Even had a chance to chat with one of the staff as we were waiting in line and they were so nice and informative about the venue itself. The show was amazing, and major props to this spot for holding such an awesome program. Pro tip: there is a another bar on the second floor, which is a little less crowded than the main one downstairs. They also serve single, doubles or triples, so be careful and drink responsibly!

Came here to see SF9's Delight Tour and entry was super smooth and quick. Just a quick metal wand scan, bag check and ticket scan then you're in! I sat in the second row of Loge 8 and I was surprised and happy that it was a really good view of the stage! It's a guaranteed unobstructed view as the railing for the Loge area is really low so it would be dangerous if someone in the first row stood up. It's a really good view for the price (cheaper than stage level seating) if you want to enjoy the performance but not willing to splurge a crazy amount as I think the view at stage level is not worth it if you're in one of the rear rows. I think there are only four women's bathroom stalls on the second floor so of course the bathroom line was long. Sound system was pretty good too. For upbeat songs, the music was absolutely pounding and I felt like the whole theater was shaking. On another note, the chandeliers and plush red seats make the theater feel very classy.

Came here for a Nigel Ng comedy show. Great show. Bad venue. Poorly managed lines, for entrances and then for drinks. You have four doors with separate lines and you wonder why people are lining up at the ones on the sides? And when I ask the staff I get rude answers that they all go the same place? Then when you're inside for drinks, the bar station by the front door will have staff yelling at you to wait on the stairs like it's their fault for not creating a fire hazard of the own accord? And then I got the pleasure of watching one of the ushers accusingly ask some seated audience members what their seats were supposed to be before he realized he was looking at the wrong seats, and did not apologize. Seats are small and cramped but at least the sight lines are good. Still, with rude staff and poor facilities you're going to come here for the content and not the venue and staff that will disrespect you anyway.

Not my favorite comedy hall. They will reseat you without notice. Only serve drinks. No food! The seats are okay! Staff is okay. Location is good. But I have been to better.

New York Comedy Festival brought to life in this old classic theater venue. It isn't your largest theater compared to the Broadway shows on the Times Square strip, but it does get the job done. You wouldn't assume this place exists considering it's right next to a bunch of conglomerate business buildings. Very quaint and the seats are better spaced out. No obstructed views as I enjoyed watching the live comedy of Jimmy O'Yang do his best skits saved for 2022. Not the largest but I appreciate under-the-radar theaters like this that's close to other attractions in the Bryant Park area. Major props also goes to the show and the coordination of all great comedians scheduled that night. A fantastically funny evening.

Started on the last row of the mezzanine and could see everything (though fairly overhead view). They upgraded us to orchestra seats that we're still open shortly after the show started. Staff were friendly and efficient

Well maintained performance space that opened in 1921. It has a capacity of 1,495. Both the exterior and interior of the building are New York City landmarks, and the building is on the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark. And their bar serves triples, which you will pay for, both monetarily and with delirium tremens the next day........

Great space, very personable staff. Leg room is a little tight, but manageable. But $10 for a soda????

Unprecedented quality of service which shows a respect for and sincere desire to help disabled guests. Plus, Town Hall is a beautiful venue where every seat provides a clear view of the stage and staff makes every effort to help you enjoy your event.

I just saw the Wolfe tones on Thursday night concert was great then you was good...... However I must call out Oscar the security guard for a brilliant job...... There was a drunk couple that just kept driving everyone crazy and we're poking him looking for a fight yet he kept his cool and composure which was not easy because our whole section wanted to beat the people..... Nice job Oscar

Went to see Shangela this past Saturday everyone was respectful and nice at the theater. I had very bad incident with me and my husband we went to the bar upstairs next to the women's restroom. We were helped this young lady that was a little stand offish not very friendly. We order one beer and my husband asked her for a splash of ginger ale in the beer. The beer was $14 for one Heineken (rip off) and she charged $23 for a Beer and a cup with a quarter filled ginger ale. I was confused and asked her why she charged me $23 when the beer was $14 she said soda was $9 so I asked her nicely I did not want to soda it was way to expensive for $9 for a sip of soda. I asked for I prefer another beer and pay the difference. She told me no and said if I did it's a return and she will not do that. I asked her for the manager and she said it was the man at the bar next to her. She took the cup of soda at threw it at me instead of handing it me in my hand. Not sure if she was a racist due to we were Latinos but I have never had this happen to me . The manager was nice and did not let us pay the difference for the beer. But as a customer and for the way we were treated I should have been offered a refund on the whole transaction just a horrible experience due to this I will never go back to town hall again.

Came here yesterday to watch Nigel Ng comedy show. When you first walk up there is guard check you they say take everything out. And than you walk in the door to scan your tickets. There are so many people waiting on line not sure what the line is for. They say our seat under the stair. There was merchandise selling stuff. So went through the door and the usher took down on our seats. Sat in the seat it is not comfortable. No leg room or back. I have another person who keep moving so I try my best to enjoy the show. Try to look for the restroom ask people they are very rude. By time I finish using the restroom the second half of the show started. They need better staff and seats. The need to have venue for customer to enjoy the show. Nigel comedy is great but venue sucks. Won't be coming back here again.

After celebrating my "Dirty Thirty" with my honey at Parker & Quinn he surprised me with tickets to The New York Comedy Festival. I was beyond ecstatic when I found out we were going to see Jo Koy one of my favorite comedians. Town Hall has been an integral part in New York City for more than 90 years. It was designed by renowned architects McKim, Mead & White to reflect the democratic principles of the League. Town Hall was a meeting space for Suffragists who fought for the 19th Amendment which led them to educate people on the important issues of the day. Box seats were removed which gave birth to the "Not a bad seat in the house." The 19th amendment was passed and the building was completed on January 12, 1921. The opening of Town Hall took on a double meaning: as a symbol of the victory sought by its founders, and as a spark for a new, more optimistic climate. Town Hall is a old venue that is well maintained. I just love when places are immaculate. It just does something to my inner domestic lol. All jokes aside I thought that the venue was well kept. Albeit, the seats were a little uncomfortable towards the middle of the show. I had to keep adjusting my derierre.

I had tickets to the Ney Matogrosso and Marisa show. I found out three days before the concert that it had been postponed to the following week. I had made plans to travel from Texas to New York just to attend that concert. I could not reschedule the trip for the new date of the concert because I had already made airline flights, arranged my work schedule, and bought tickets to other events in NYC. I spent $279 on these tickets, and Town Hall will not give me a refund, and neither will Ticketmaster. Town Hall has chosen not to allow Ticketmaster users to resale their tickets, so I am stuck having wasted all this money for nothing. I called and spoke with someone at the Town Hall box office, who was no help whatsoever.

Went to see Bat for Lashes concert in there. The entry process was smooth and rather straightforward. My husband, myself and another couple decided to grab a drink before entering the auditorium. You should have seen our faces when we got charged $100 for 4 drinks! And they serve drinks in plastic coffee cups which you then obviously can keep as a souvenir. What an absolute rip off! And the lines yo toilets were insane! The stage and auditorium itself are very pretty. Acoustics were great and seating chart good even if you got seats on balcony and had to sit at the back. I'll be happy to return to this venue for another gig but certainly won't be drinking again!

We saw Tom Papa - a hilarious show and great venue. But $32 for a cup of wine is insane (I almost had to knock off 2 stars for that BS).

Take a good look at these two. They wouldn't let my friend come back inside after the conclusion of tonight's Christmas show from Jinkxx Monsoon and Ben de la Creme after I texted him to come back in to look at the merchandise (pictured here also) they had for sale. This is merchandise the headliners sell to help pay their bills because show business isn't easy or reliably profitable. (By the way, they were excellent and the show was a riot.) This is merchandise which my friend could have spent considerable money on. That's profit the headliners now won't see. How many others did they put their hands up to obstruct and blurt "no re-entry" to with no nuance whatsoever in their soulless voices? What about those of us on the right side of the house who couldn't even have seen the merchandise when we first filed in to see the show...not that that even matters. We really felt the Christmas spirit rain down on us from these two winners. Happy Holidays Town Hall! It's so good to know you hire real professionals like these.

Lovely old concert hall. Went tonight to The Big Quiet mass meditation event. It was practically a full house and there was quite a long line to get in. The staff at the box office, the ticket takers and ushers were all very friendly and efficient. Managed to get everyone inside quickly. The theater hooks about 1500 and you can tell its been well kept although the seat next to me had a rip in the fabric. The acoustics are quite nice. Sounds had a nice deep full sounding vibrations. I recommend the loge seats in the balcony which has a very nice view of the stage and is a bit roomier than most sections as it only seats three per section and row. Tickets price were reasonable in comparison to some other Broadway theaters in the neighborhood. I wouldn't mind coming back to see other performances.

I'm going to keep this one straight and to the point but will say that my overall experience was a positive one and that everything ran according to plan for the show that I was seeing. By my count I have been here a total of three times and while the first was almost a decade ago the next two were within months of each other. This venue is a comfortable one and has a nice balcony if that is where your seats are. Generally I have been sitting on the main floor with the view direct to the stage and the three sections all offer great views of what is happening up there. I don't drink when I come to this space and have to say that the space where they set up the bar does hinder passage but these places have to make money. It's also rather high in the prices so I either pregame or postgame at one of the numerous pubs outside of the joint. The sound is solid and the seats comfortable and I look forward to returning here once more. The shows I had seen were all enjoyable but that is always going to be a crap shoot dependent on the artist and the gig that they put forward. Check this place out if you should be in town and something that you enjoy still has available tickets.

I'm used to reviewing restaurants, not music venues, so not sure what people are looking for in the music venues. Anyway, let me try. We were at Town Hall for the jazz concert. No problem with entering - four entrances were opened, run quite efficiently. Seats are dated, at the end of the performance (with intermission) it was hard to get up. Space between rows is also very limited, so overall seating is not comfortable. No complains with the sound quality (we were sitting in the third row orchestra) Concession prices are obscene - of course, may be I don't get out enough, but $6 for water and $25 for some sort of double vodka cocktail (I was not buying it, just observing in awe) is really pushing it.... Exiting the hall after the performance was a bit challenging with the crowd, but this is rather normal. Wouldn't be my venue of choice, but then I'm not the one to chose them anyway....

Went to Town Hall last night to see Diego El Cigala and have seen other acts there before. Space is great, with most seats having an excellent view of the stage, acoustics are good, and entry process quick and easy, even with checks for vaccination status. However, even though masks were supposed to be required throughout the venue, as written communication from the venue stated, almost half of the patrons were not wearing their masks. There were no announcements about masking, and ushers made no attempt to get patrons to comply. One of the ushers confirmed that masks were required when we asked, so it was not a change in policy. If large venues want to stay open, they will have to do a better job than this. (There was a similar disregard of their policy against photos and videos during the show, but that's a different story.)

It's a great hall with "not one bad seat in the house." Please keep in mind, this is an older theater so the seats have just enough space for an average-sized adult. It does feel little tight if you are taller. We decided not to bring any bags or anything extra because there was nowhere to put anything. There is a cash bar near the entrance. Drinks can not be brought inside the theater. I For the history buffs, the Town Hall offers morning tours of the building every Friday. This building has quite a lot of history and I am so happy that NYC has created opportunities for these great theaters to be maintained and preserved. We attended the LV-426 Aliens Day event on April 26th, which had a film screening of Aliens, the movie, by James Cameron with a special Q & A with Sigourney Weever. Sigourney did a quick welcome before the film and after the film did an extended Q & A with a writer from BuzzFeed. The event was managed by Alamo Drafthouse based in Austin, Texas. This is their first special movie event in Manhattan. There is a Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers and this summer (2016) will be opening their first NYC venue in downtown Brooklyn. Nitehawk in Williamsburg and Metorgraph in LES are two solid options in NYC for movies and dinning as well as we patiently wait for Alamo to open in NYC. I look forward to coming back a concert or special event at this great historic venue.

My first time at this venue. It's an old theatre so it's all seated. Two levels and the balcony is on a pitch you you can still see the stage if you are sitting towards the rear. Tons of history here and you can see the artists that have performed here in the past from posters and pictures on the walls in the hallways. It's definitely an older building too. He seats are comfortable but old. They fold up so you can get by and fold back down once you sit down. The men's room was on the first floor and you go down a narrow staircase to get to it. The bathroom itself is pretty small. The ladies room was on the 2nd level.

Town Hall is architecturally beautiful. The seats are old and leg room not so great in the balcony so best to get an aisle. I lucked out as there were three empty seats to my right. Last night at the ACLU/NYCLU benefit concert, there was a weird chirping sound in the balcony. I'm not sure what it was but it was slightly annoying. For someone not raised in New York, and even for someone who was, the posters are fun to browse. People are complaining about the drink prices but from what I can see this is standard for a Broadway venue. My issue: the most inconvenient, disorganized check-in of any New York venue. It takes forever and the box office is confusing. The My Body, My Business concert was disappointing. Fifty percent speeches and not billed as such. Preaching to the choir and redundant. Philippa Soo was great and Carrie Manalokos WOW (Jagged Little Pill). We MacDonald from The View was luminous and Judy Kuhn is always fantastic. The Cleveland Musical Theater "Into The Woods" was unforgettable.

Despite the beautiful décor and architecture, The Town Hall fails to accommodate more legroom in the balcony section. The rows are very narrow. If you're tall and lanky, you will feel uncomfortable throughout the show. Seat cushions feel a little weird as well. They are too puffy. And drinks are way overpriced. I mean, $15 for 3/4 of a cup of Caption Morgan and Coke. The cups are nice though. However, staff are very helpful.

I attended the two day Mindfulness in America summit last weekend. The place was clean & the event was organized. I was impressed with the courteous disposition of the staff & Manager (Danny). I was staying in the city from LI & I had my suitcase with me on my last day. I asked the manager the day before, if they could store my suitcase. He said he would try to accommodate me, depending on the number of suitcases they were storing. Thankfully they were able to accommodate me. I appreciate that I didn't have to go all the way back to the hotel to get my bag at the end of the summit! In addition, I felt safe as a result of the security measures by the staff prior to entering the event. The place itself is tastefully decorated as a traditional upscale theatre. It's a smaller theatre, and it gives off a more intimate feel. I enjoyed the event & would highly recommend!

I love Town Hall. It's one of my favorite concert venues in NYC. I just wish they had more shows that are in my wheelhouse. It's a great old space with a wonderful atmosphere - majestic and charming at the same time, not over the top majestic like the Beacon or Kings Theater. You can just feel all the many years of performances wash over you. Seats are a little tight and the bathrooms are small - long lines ladies - but the acoustics are fantastic and I don't think there's a bad seat, at least in the orchestra level. There's also loads of cool memorabilia on the walls.

Town Hall is a historic and beautiful venue. I don't come here often, but it was an enjoyable experience when I did. I've actually only gone here once - mainly because acts that I like have just never performed here. However, I had the opportunity to go to Town Hall earlier this year when The Kids in the Hall rolled into NYC. I purchased the tickets through Ticketmaster (if I remember correctly, I believe that the venue can scan mobile phones if you use the TM app). My boyfriend and I sat somewhere in the center balcony section. The interior of Town Hall is amazing. It's interesting to see an older building like this adjacent to the 24/7 neon lights of Time Square. I was distracted with the interior of the venue until we sat down in our seats and quickly discovered that these were the most uncomfortable seats of any venue that we've been to. I mean, it can't really help it because it is a US National Historic Landmark that's been around since the 20s and people were smaller back then (both vertically and horizontally). My knees hit the back of the person's seat in front of me. I felt bad for my boyfriend who is taller than me. No matter where you sat, you got a good view of the stage. The acoustics were pretty good, and we had no problem hearing the show. If you see a performance that you're interested in checking out scheduled here, book your tickets without hesitation. It's a twofer - a performance and a visit to a historic landmark. Check it out.

Came here for a comedy show during New York Comedy Festival. Super easy to enter the building and the attendant checking tickets was very nice and helpful. Also the attendants showing seats were polite and kind and all around made me feel very welcome! Can't wait to see another show here someday!

Don't go to events here. The space is mediocre and drinks are pricey. At the event I attended they falsely advertised the line up and only half the line up listed was actually at the show. I wouldn't trust any of their events. So many better more reliable venues in the city.

Rustic background. Red chairs clean facility. Ushers very helpful. Small spot with good views where ever you sit. Negative Annoying chirping birds! I could have gone to union square for that!

I came here to see the Andrew Schulz show. The architecture is gorgeous like others have said, and the lighting and sound was appropriate. It was a huge venue especially for a comedy show, but seating was comfortable enough. You didn't get stuck in huge lines going in or out, which was a plus. The drink and merch lines could get a bit crazy but that's the case at any venue. Overall, a positive experience.

Concessions are expensive as HECK. For a water and a beer, we paid $25... HUH? I will say that the seating (since the venue is so old) is not very fat-body friendly. I was semi comfortable as a small/mid fat person but they are incredibly narrow. The acoustics here are FANTASTIC though and the show we saw here had the most beautiful sound. It felt odd to see the artist we saw here but my partner and I were floored at how intimate it ultimately ended up feeling. Yes, this place is old. No it's not very friendly or accessible (women's bathrooms are on the second floor and men's are downstairs) but it does the job and I'd see another show here again.

Pros * Nicely sized theater, you don't get stuck waiting to get in or out, feels kinda intimate * Drink line moves quickly * Nice acoustics -- easy to hear the band, no echo etc Cons I can not for the fucking life of me understand why I have to buy a 13$ sippy cup to bring a beer into the hall. I don't care if it's a "reusable souvenir cup." I bought two double gin & tonics and they were NINETY DOLLARS. Why? Why are you like this? Also I saw Jeff Tweedy and he got heckled at his own show :(

All the reviews on the comfort of the seats and the amount of leg room are on point. The seats are indeed comfy for your tush and your knees do not hit the back of the seat in front of you. There are concession stations on the first and second floor, restrooms are on the second floor.. lines are horrendous for the ladies room. It can get a bit chilly in the theater at least that was the case during Ali Wong's show on 4/28/17. Sat in row g center and the seats were great! I'd def come back to see a show at this venue!

A great venue, with cheap parking and great restaurants nearby. However, I felt threatened when two young persons pushed me on the back and told me to clear out of their way. When I questioned them, they said they were security. The management should have their security staff wear identification of some sort. Very unprofessional.

Watched a stand up comedy in this theater last night .Theater is huge, has nice decor, (those chandeliers were simply gorgeous), has uncomfortable chairs , no room for other stuff but seats were designed to get a good angle or view of the stage , has good lighting effects but was not happy with how the performers microphone volume sounded. Staff was efficient although were not informed of the start delays . We waited more than hour in fan line in this crazy weather . Anyway why complain where it was free admission. The best part I love about the place, it's unisex 4 restrooms on balcony floor. Can't forget the reactions on men's faces when they hear about it. Once in a while, they get to experience women's dilemma whenever going to any place. lol! I will love to come back especially that I have seen in their coming events list few performances possible to my liking.

Came here for Radiotopia's live tour. The venue itself had good sound quality and sight lines throughout. Like most old venues in Manhattan, the seats are not comfortable (small, hard), so hopefully the show you're seeing is good enough to distract you. Staff is just ok. Aloof in the way you see a lot in Manhattan - not rude, but not friendly or inviting at all. Signage outside isn't great and the interior layout makes for a big bottleneck before and after the show.

Lost my tickets but Stephanie from the box office helped me (TL; DR)! I went get to the box office to get Chris Thile tickets and save ~$20 on those pesky Ticketmaster charges and picked up printed copies of tickets. Then I was off and went to do some holiday shopping. In all of the rush around town, I dropped the tickets somewhere in Manhattan - I called all of the stores that I was in but no one had turned them in. I was bummed and my day was ruined. Then, in a fit of despair, I called back to Town Hall and spoke with Stephanie. I braced myself for the worst and assumed that the tickets would be gone. She said that there might be a chance that she could do something and took down my details. In about half an hour, she called me back and said that all I would have to do is show up to the box office on the day of the concert and that they would let me in! My day was made :) What great service. Like my own holiday miracle!

I was at the Town hall for the Ally Wong show. This review does not rate the show itself but only the theatre facilities and staff. Like most broadway theaters the Town hall is a pretty old theatre, the seats are quite tiny. I was seated in the center balcony and the view of the stage was pretty decent. However I can see the far right corner balcony folks having a slightly hard time viewing the far right part of the stage. It doesn't have much much in terms of a bar area. I didn't visit the restroom, so can't rate those facilities. The staff was polite. I did not have much of an interaction with them. Overall my experience was as expected.

Went to The Town Hall for the first time for a concert with guitar-God Tommy Emmanuel on Saturday the 7th. The show itself was great; the lighting and smoke machines were on point and the sound was good. Kudos to the lighting and sound people, nice work! The ushers working upstairs also did a great job. They were helpful in finding our seats and I could see them assisting people throughout. They were also right on top of every jackass trying to take unauthorized photos and videos, nice to see a staff enforce that and take care of the performer! 5 stars to them. The drink prices were ridiculous. I mean, 33% of the price of the ticket?? Especially at a smaller acoustic type show? I wonder how the artists feel about that. I suggest pre-gaming beforehand, as I did. As I was leaving, I was looking to see if Tommy was hanging out and talking to fans like he usually does. I approached an usher who was stationed directly in front of the bar, holding the doors to the lower seating area and looked to be of Asian descent, if Tommy was hanging out, and he gave me a snotty valley girl "No" and looked at me like I was an idiot. I then asked if there was a merchandise table and he just kept shaking his head no. Hmm, weird. Tommy typically does meet with fans after shows, sometimes at the merch table, but at a big venue like this he probably wouldn't have time, so I wasn't too surprised. However, as I was outside the venue walking away, I look inside and sure enough I see a merchandise table with t-shirts and other swag for sale. Really?? This usher is probably guilty of the classic NYC I-think-I'm-an-actor-syndrome, and instead should focus on giving out the right information and not giving people attitude.
