We stumbled across this beautifully restored dog friendly pub whilst staying at the nearby Caravan Club site. We had dinner there on our 1st night and it was so good we went back on our 2nd night. The menu is small, but there's something for everyone, dietary preferences, allergies etc. All the food is freshly cooked, beautifully presented and delicious. There's a lovely beer garden over looking the village green, which has a children's play area. We'll definitely be back again.

Love this dog friendly pub! A brilliant place to spend a wet and windy Sunday lunch time. Friendly and very accommodating staff, great cask beers and a lamb roast with proper Yorkshire puds. I think that says it all!! Many thanks to the chef who managed to squeezed us in at the end of service when technically they were fully booked. Much appreciated.

We had sunday lunch here, September 2025. It was absolutely delicious. The pub itself is clean, well maintained and obviously a favourite of many. The food was delicious. Good menu and chef. He popped round to see if we enjoyed our meal. The meat was roasted to perfection, veg was just right and the portuons generous. All the staff were professional but also friendly and helpful. Recommended if you're in the area. Great price too.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Tradesman’s Arms in Stokenham. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The staff were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The room was spotless, comfortable, and full of character, with all the little touches that make a big difference. The food and drink were excellent - both dinner and breakfast were delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The atmosphere in the pub is cozy and inviting, a perfect mix of traditional charm and local comfort. The location is also wonderful, with lovely surroundings and a peaceful vibe, yet close enough to explore the beauty of the South Hams or Dartmoor National Park. We can’t fault a single thing about our stay - it was perfect in every way. A true five-star experience, and we‘ll definitely be back!

Lovely little pub restaurant tucked away near slapton sands. The building has recently been renovated and the owners have done a great job. The place has a real warm feeling and the owners are very welcoming. Always busy with locals and holiday makers. There are some good hiking routes in the area that pass the pub. Lovely beer garden with stunning views through the village and down through valley. Plenty of seating and very dog friendly with biscuits for your pet.

What an absolute gem. Table for four people plus a dog. The menu was spot on and the quality, presentation and service was superb. We all had no complaints whatsoever about the quality of food served. Great selection of beer, cider and wine. If you get the weather, sit outside and enjoy the view of the rolling countryside. Highly, highly recommend this beautiful pub.

What a fantastic place! Extremely well run - the landlady couldn't be more helpful and the staff were lovely. A couple of nice local ales and a great wine list (the New Zealand Sauvignon was superb). We went for food twice (booking well in advance is essential) and ordered steak, pork tenderloin and fish (twice) and the scallop starter. The meats were tender and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The fish and the sauce it came with was incredible. The Chef was a really nice guy and took the time to go around each of the customers making sure everyone is happy - a nice touch. There is a lovely beer garden overlooking the church and village green and its dog friendly, inside and out. Pubs just don't get better much than this. Very highly recommended
