Yelp
I like Queequeg's. (Name in the running for my future son's name, for reals (not for reals). It's a good spot when you're looking for a nice night out, but more casual than some of the other downtown Nantucket restaurants. A seafood forward menu with entrees at at about $30 for a solid portion size (read: not huge, but not Nantucket tiny).
My party of 4 had no problem getting a last minute rez on a weeknight in July. We all opted for dinner apps and entrees and did a little bit of some sharing, and I gotta say we all enjoyed our meals. The oyster salad is delicious, with fresh greens topped with fried oysters and a delicious deviled eggy dressing. Other options include a fresh summer squash salad and tune and meat tartars. I followed it up with sea scallops. 3 large scallops could have used a little bit more oomph, but they were solid and meaty. However, that pan roasted halibut... SWOON. A nice sized fish perfectly cooked. Lobster gnocchi and the bolognese were solid dishes, but not standout.
Overall, cocktails are pricey, food for Nantucket is pretty reasonable and delicious. Service was fine, not fine dining, but casual! I'd 100% come again and recommend for a more casual night out vs that high end Nantucket night.
