"or for a more value-forward stay, a characterful property such as The Troubadour."

The Troubadour

"What were your first impressions? The 1960s office block exterior doesn’t look out of place in the city’s Central Business District, but inside it's all retro chic patterns and futuristic abstract sculptures. What’s the crowd like?Expect to see young, urban explorers in the lobby, planning their day’s adventures on their iPads over coffee. And, the rooms? Our Troubie King had dark grey and blue overtones and the patterns mirrored the geometric displays of the public spaces. The fabrics were reassuringly plush and the lamps and fittings landed the right side of kitsch. The bathroom mixes elements of cubism and art deco, with striking monochrome tessellating tiles framing the shower. Jonathan Adler products complete the picture. How about the little things? There’s a welcome touch of adult sophistication to the inclusion of a self-service cocktail kit that complements the minibar, and the colorfully funky modern art prints are eminently desirable. Wi-Fi: What’s the word?Complimentary Wi-Fi easily stood up to Netflix demands. Food and drink? Two amenities stand out, one on the ground floor and one on the roof. Up top is Monkey Board, a rooftop bar that rivals any in town, with inventive cocktails, bar food, and city views. Down below is the on-site restaurant, Jayne. It’s one of NOLA’s best-kept dining secrets and has an astonishingly good menu including such delights as Creole Caribbean Wings and Shrimp Rice Fritters. What's the bottom line? The Troubadour is a desirable addition to the hotel renaissance of the CBD, and offers a modern design aesthetic that is unusual for this traditional city." - Paul Oswell

I was a little skeptical about this stay after reading some of the recent reviews. However, I was blown away by the hotel. The city view rooms are nice but we stayed in a suite which was clean, very spacious and so cute. There was a record player in the room and the bathroom was stocked with all the essentials. The elevators worked fine (I don’t know why people had bad reviews about that), and the hallways smelled really nice, at least on the 12th floor. We never checked out the first level lounge, but the rooftop bar is so cool with city views in all directions and cutely decorated. The happy hour there was nice. And the housekeeping was there every day during our trip and did a great job, I also accidentally left my very expensive ring in the room one day and it was left untouched. As far as location, it was walking distance of bourbon street and we walked to the French market area in about 15 minutes. It’s a couple blocks from the street car as well, but we walked everywhere. It wasn’t as loud as streets closer to bourbon street and we slept great. All in all, excellent stay considering the price was a lot cheaper than other hotels in the same area. 10/10 do recommend!

Strangely dated decor in the room that is from the '60s but mine was in good condition and the bathroom was modern. It has some quirks like you have to ask the front desk for ice, but it's not a big deal. Great location if you're OK with walking a few blocks in any direction. It's not in the middle of the partying scene so it's a great choice to avoid that crowd. Prices are reasonable. Not fabulous, but I'd stay here again.

First of all the air conditioner in the room did not work but I did not complain because they were booked up. Second we went to the restaurant and it was just mediocre. We sat there and watched the bar tender take our order when she felt like she wanted to. Then she had to go outside to chase down the cook. Well he finally came in to fix our order. My burger and fries were cold and over cooked. My dates wings were hot but they were just mediocre also. And third you charge a lot not to have free parking for your guest. Not the worst I've experienced but close to it. I have advised all my friends and family NOT to stay at The Troubadour New Orleans. Clearly the staff does not give a damn about their jobs. They are just there to collect a pay check.

Google
The security guard was a dick and the desk clerk was not very friendly! Room was decent, AC didn’t work well. Parking is nonexistent $50 a night to valet your vehicle or you have to walk from another lot. Overall not really pleased with the experience. Would recommend staying at a different hotel.

Google
This hotel is so nice, and the staff is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone, and I would stay there again. The lady at the front desk was so kind, and she helped me when she did not have to do so. She went above and beyond to assist me, and I am so grateful for her kindness. I wish I had gotten her name, but I hope she reads this and knows I appreciate what she did for me. Thank you!

While on vacation to New Orleans, I found this hotel via Expedia. Though the reviews may seem a bit scary the troubadour hotel is a lovely and surprising stay while there. About a 10 minute walk from Bourbon Street. It was centrally located and it gives you a chance to work off all of that good New Orleans food. The front desk workers were very pleasant and gave wonderful suggestions. There is a microwave on the second floor as well as a seating area there. On the 17th floor as well as first floor there are both bars ready and able to serve.

Google
We stayed at the Troubadour for 5 nights, and one of the best parts of our trip was the rooftop bar — thanks to Hunter, who I believe is the bar manager. He was friendly, funny, and great to talk to. He made our night so enjoyable that we may stay again 😉 I travel often for work and stay at a lot of Hiltons. Honestly, they should have Hunter running their bar programs — he’d take them to the next level. He’s got the personality, professionalism, and energy that makes a real difference. If you’re staying at the Troubadour, make sure to visit the rooftop. And if Hunter’s there, you’re in for a great time. ⸻

First, our stay was less than ideal. Valet took about an hour. The elevators (only two of the three appeared to be working) were slow, taking anywhere from 20-30 minutes. Our entire floor smelled like cat litter, the shower did not heat up, outlets in the room did not work, the TV remote was taped together and barely functioning, and then there is the charge for parking. I clarified at check-in that I paid for parking with my stay and was still charged - despite this conversation. It was challenging to get someone to discuss any of these concerns with as the hotel was packed and there appeared to be a staffing issue. There was next to no staff available and anyone we spoke to seemed to not care at all. When I asked about my valet charge upon departure - I was instructed to connect with Hilton directly. When I initially reached out to Hilton - they told me the front desk had to handle the issue. There seemed to be some confusion amongst employees about the hotel “not being a part of Hilton,” but I had booked only a day before arriving through Hilton. The first person I spoke to told me to expect a refund in 24 hours, the next 4 days and the next said they couldn’t see my stay records. I have spoken to Hilton and then reached out to the hotel directly and am still going in circles. I would recommend staying absolutely anywhere else.

Yelp
Nice hotel room appeared clean. Decor nicely was very detailed. I loved the details of the headboard. The bed was kind of low for me I'm 5'9. The shower was big enough for two. I live the orange in the bathroom. Only problem I had was the smell. It had an old mildew stale smell. I had to spray some air freshener and perfume to mask the smell. After the air freshener subsided it was fine.

Yelp
Meh. Wanted to love it, but just too many inconsistencies to be able. Stayed on points, so can't speak to price point, but it was a pretty high demand point spend. Located on a side street with limited nearby parking, valet parking seemed wise ($46/day). Thursday afternoon they had one valet who was trying to check in cars and assist people with luggage, but that isn't possible for one person. Short wait to check in, was told they had upgraded me. Only 2 of the 3 small elevators were functional during our entire 3 night stay. Got upstairs to with 2 keys - neither worked. Back downstairs, told them of the error I got and got new keys. Neither worked. Called down to desk, repeated error, waited on maintenance to come up and try to open - safety lock on. Waited for him to come back with a tool, only for someone to finally yell out that the room was occupied. Not sure why you'd let someone assault your door for 20 mins without calling out or down to the front desk, but people are weird. That's not on the hotel. What IS on the hotel is booking us into an occupied room and not checking that before sending us and maintenance up multiple times. What did we get for our trouble? Walked up to another room, not the "city view" side I booked. The room was fine - no soap at the bathroom sink and a dead battery on the room safe, making it unusable. Not terrible, just lazy. And speaking of lazy - the downstairs bar is no better that the rooftop for service, just not as horribly loud. One bartender sometimes in place and moves at the speed of cold molasses whether there were 2 people waiting or 20. Why is that a difficult problem to solve.

Yelp
This hotel is located in the perfect area to access all of the fun and within walking distance from the mall, restaurants and experiences. With that being said, this hotel needs some work. It has the potential to be really nice but the lack of care for it makes the experience feel cheap. Holes in the wall portly patched up, stains on the curtains, stains on the sinks. Please maintain the rooms to make this a more appealing place to stay. The staff make this a nice place because they are so kind and accommodating.

Yelp
Come for the views stay for the service! Sage is an expert in vibes and drinks! The rooftop bar features couches where you can chill and table tops where you can grab a snack and enjoy the music. Perfect location for a romantic view or after work drinks.

Yelp
Avoid this hotel at all costs . We thought it would be a quality boutique hotel since we had stayed in other Hiltons but it absolutely was not. The place need so much attention that it is clear that management does not care about anything but money. 2 out of 3 elevators didn't work which caused a line out the door for people that wanted to get into their rooms . At one point the maintenance person had to override the system because the elevators couldn't handle the demand. That was just the beginning....our room 1307 smelled like vomit and sewage. The bed was sagging, the desk chair looked like a cat covered in glitter used it as a scratching post, and the bedside lamp shade was torn up. The outlets next to the bed would not work and the bathroom sink was terribly cracked and moldy, the shower was dingy and had soap scum in the door and tile. We didn't bother to shower the next morning as we just wanted out.. Bypass this mess and head to a better hotel that cares about the upkeep and safety of it's patrons

Yelp
Definitely a solid hotel. I've stayed here a number of times (~4 times). Rooms are jazzy, but for king bed rooms, they run a little small. Which is fine for a night or two, but if you need to have a day of work in a hotel room, book a suite. Staff is awesome. Parking is $40 before taxes. Mini market has good items for your F&B credit if you have it. Dunkin iced coffee, candies, chips, old fashioned soda in the glass bottle, etc. Minus a star because there have been several billing issues, later resolved, but annoying nonetheless.

Yelp
The Trobubadour has been great the staff have been extremely hospitable, and I extended my stay a day. I loved that the room has nice glasses in it and the decor is adorable. They have a steamer instead of an iron in the room as an FYI. The rooftop bar was a nice vibe as well.

Yelp
Pros: Young fun crowd. The staff was really nice. Any call request to the front was addressed pretty quick. The room was nice and clean, but perfect for a trip you don't plan to be in the room much. Love the fact that they have plenty of mirrors in the room, including a full body! If you like to watch tv to unwind the channel selection was pretty good too. Cons: The elevator was very slow. The valet overnight is 50+ because NOLA have all these additional fees and taxes on top of the price. I'd recommend trying the lot across the street. Not to mention the valet is very slowwwwww! Not worth the cost. Overall it can be perfect for the right situation. I'd stay again.

Yelp
The rooms had dead power plugs. Otherwise they were overpriced but fine. x x x x x x x x

Yelp
DO NOT, I repeat DO book a stay at this hotel! The room was filthy and the fraudulent staff charged me an incidental fee of $200.00, which they STILL refuse to refund! As of today, I have not received my money back!!!! It is now May!!! Here is the kicker: I pay for this trip using Priceline! I disputed this through my bank and the hotel submitted information fraudulently stating that this was a legitimate charge, even though I have my Priceline confirmation and receipts showing that full payment was rendered. I am fighting this now and will likely need to pursue legal action against them. I have tried to call the front desk and the reservation number several times (I called reservation just to get someone on the phone), and the phone either rings out, or the call is picked up and mysteriously dropped. LaQuinta is owned by Wyndham, so I called the that corporate office - get this THEY COULD NOT GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE EITHER. DO NOT stay here! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! You will regret it!

Yelp
I can't even give these people a star. I'm sorry I worked here for like two days and the food and beverage manager. His name is Tim Washington. I'm pretty certain that this person doesn't even know how to use a computer not only that but no one was helpful at all. I'm sorry it has a great view of downtown but everyone that works there sucks.

Yelp
Girls weekend staycation was a complete successful. The staff at check in were so helpful. My group & i really enjoyed the weekend. I wasn't aware that the hotel restaurant was opened. We checked in and then got ready to go out for dinner. We returned from dinner & went up to Ingenue. The bartenders were great and the drinks and view were EVERYTHING! I tried the ingenue cocktail and it was my drink for the rest of the weekend. I stayed until closing then changed clothes and went out to a few bars on bourbon. I slept in then hit the gym for a quick self yoga session. I missed beignet fest. Then i changed and headed to lunch. Returned from lunch after a walk through the french quarter back to the hotel for a quick change then i headed to a private birthday dinner in the East. I returned to meet some friends on the roof at ingenue and we drank cocktails until closing. We headed to a local hookah bar. The next morning we gathered everything to checkout. We went to brunch where we watched the firts half of the saints game. We then returned to the hotel and went up to finish the second half of the game at ingenue. Such a beautiful space. I would love to host a yoga event or watch part to sip and cheer on the saints to utilize the great space.

Yelp
There are better places to stay where the wall outlets work, the In room Safe and thermostat work and the bathroom vents work..... Manager wouldn't accept Expedia 3rd party refund even after admitting all the trouble with our room and they moved us and the other room was Troy led too...they offered points, not even enough point for a stay anywhere. Dont stay in this hotel.
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance is a vibe but the room didn't ever cool down. It was colder outside than in the room. Also they didn't clean the room any.

Yelp
Checking in was fine and the staff was great. I'm disappointed with how Hilton is part of this hotel. Something should be done with the room which is why I am giving it a really mediocre rating. First of all the toilet paper roll holder was almost falling off its hinges. The toilet was leaking from the back where the pipes are located. For one day the TV was out of service as the network was disconnected. There was a strong urine smell coming from a part of the room that you couldn't avoid. Everytime you stood or laid by that area you wanted to throw up. We complained about the urine smell and they tried to cover it up with some kind of perfume, but it was only temporary. Also, last but not least the elevator buttons were falling off. There needs to be an overall of its facilities. The only thing that made it bearable was the staff. Anyways, check out the rooftop bar when you get the chance as that is the only thing going for this place. Great views!

Yelp
Carl and his crew were amazing. They were welcoming and knowledgeable. Their recommendations were top tier. The rooms were comfortable and very spacious. Hilton can spend the money to do the few cosmetic updates ( chipped paint, stains in sink because of the material the sink is made out of). The room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job daily. The restaurant and bar staff were very nice the atmosphere was fun, food was good and music amazing. The hotel is a great place to continue the party. Loved it, I definitely recommend and will return. I can't rave about the staff enough! They were amazing. Cons ( the only reason I didn't give 5 stars): the elevators are too ridiculously slow, an update is needed asap! Also there were scary BIG bugs on the roof top ( the windows are opened so not sure how much can be done but extra extermimation may help)

Yelp
Two months late in my review: This hotel is about a 10 minute walk to get to Bourbon Street. It was clean and the hotel staff were friendly. There is a rooftop bar with a nice view of the city (Can't see Bourbon Street though). They let us have a late check out which was good to sleep in after going hard the night before. LOL. The drinks were subpar, but overall had a good experience with our stay here. We did not take our own car here, but they offer valet parking for $45/day so be prepared for that.

Yelp
So....I didn't realize this hotel only has 5 rooms with a tub. All showers. Which is great for some. And they have this long office space like table where the TV resides but only high chairs. Literally. Not handi accessable on a broader scale. The first night I was here, April 16, I requested a low sitting chair from the concierge/check in. Blonde chick shirt hair, spoke as if I didn't understand English when I requested a low sitting chair and when she sent one to the room it looked like complete poo. Next day I speak to Gary at the desk, and he made this 4 stars instead of 2. He was so helpful, amenable, just a nice person. Helped and a tub was acquired. He deserves 10 stars. Blonde chick rude AF, condescending, and just not nice. If she had explained they only have 5 tub rooms I would have understood but she spoke to me like I was a child instead of someone paying to use their service. I will learn her name before we go to give her bad reviews on many sites. Thank you Gary for the hospitality I expect from Hilton brand hotels.

Yelp
So let me start by saying as a Yelp Elite, I should've known to come to Yelp for hotel reviews...( I digress for now...) I decided to book a 2-night staycation with breakfast for my 32nd birthday since I couldn't travel this time around. I did some research outside of Yelp on a few hotels and I decided on this hotel. I checked in on Saturday 2/5 into a King room with a city view. You have the option to check in from your phone or go to the front desk. I checked in at the front desk and the process was seamless. I love the top floor so I was excited to be on the 15th floor. Upon entering my room, it was well lit from the natural sunlight and appeared to be clean. I inspected certain areas and I was not pleased. This room clearly hadn't been dusted properly. I took a white towel and wiped off the headboard, the lamp next to the tv and even the lightbulbs next to the bed was dusty. Then I looked at the floor, there's no way it was vacuumed enough either. I left the room to head back to the front desk to as for more towels and for housekeeping services. I informed them of my disdain for the care of the room. The guy at the front desk apologized, offered me a nice amount of snacks from the snack bar, and ensured housekeeping was on their way. Nope, this time I did not make a fuss about wanting to change rooms. When the housekeeper arrived, even she was shocked. She asked me if I had been staying at the hotel already and I said no I JUST checked in. Go figure. She cleaned up and vacuumed very nicely. The bed and bathroom were pretty tidy. The hotel can stand to invest in better sheets on their beds though, not the softest but I slept well (maybe because of all the birthday drinks I had at night before heading back to my room). Sunday morning, I headed downstairs to meet my mom for breakfast. WHAT A HUGE disappointment! The self-serve "buffet" had overcooked scrambled eggs, undercooked potatoes, grits, bacon (nonpork options can be provided by request "IF" available, waffles, apple juice (out of OJ). I don't eat pork so I asked about turkey bacon, a few moments later I received 5 pieces of wet microwaved turkey bacon. I found some Cinnamon Toast Crunch and ate that with Almond milk. My mom tried the eggs and potatoes, hence the description above. I immediately went to the front desk with my picture "receipts" of the breakfast, the front desk attendant said he didn't need them and credited me back the difference in my daily rate for the breakfast. The Troubador Hotel charges too much of a pretty penny for such a review. to have to be given. It's a very nice hotel but they've got some sprucing up to do! Photos from my phone will be added shortly.

Yelp
I was so disappointed in the quality of this hotel. We booked for the location and that hiltons are generally kept in decent shape with comfortable beds. I chose my room in my app, which was switched to a handicap room later. We arrived and waited a while for the elevator. Upon entering the room, there were burns and stains in the carpet, holes in the wall with makeshift patching, a hole in the ceiling where the fire sprinkler came out, a rusted off handle in the shower hanging from the wall, a previous guests hair in the bed, just overall very dirty and full of grime. When I brought it up to the customer service liaison I was met with ‍ sorry to hear that, let us know if you need anything else. Of the 3 elevators, one had been out for over 6 months according to housekeeping, one sometimes was working and left the hotel with one working elevator. Multiple times the elevator would skip our floors, take over 15 minutes and the housekeeping staff just shrugged and said that's what it is. We had to take the stairs down on a few occasions. It's really too bad because the location, lounge area, and quieter times of the rooftop bar were great.

Yelp
We had s great staycation here. Everything was super clean and cozy. The hotel is super close to many attractions like dome. The parades will be passing nearby as well. Loved our suite. It was beautiful and looking forward to going back. The rooftop bar is AMAZING.

Yelp
Great service, beautiful room that needs a few normal "wear and tear" upgrades but was super clean and comfortable. We loved the staff and the service they provided. Check in and out was so smooth. We will be back!

Yelp
After a recent overnight stay for work where I was upgraded to a very large clean room that even had a working record player and some 70s LPs to play, I liked the boutiquey feel of the place, so when my wife and I went back to New Orleans for a couple of nights, I was excited to take her to the cool hotel with the stylish retro vibe. Unfortunately I had not looked very far beyond the room on the business trip, because if I had I would not have gone back again, let alone take my wife there. Let me start with the only positive thing about the place - in the lobby, my wife's first impression was omg I love this place and the check in and concierge staff were super nice and welcoming. Off to a great start, but alas it was all downhill from there. The regular rooms, even the upgraded "city view King", are tiny - like really really small. The whole place is filthy, and they clearly have a maintenance problem - like they just don't do any! The elevator has a loud banging noise that can be heard on half the floors day and night every time it goes up and down. The first room we were given smelled like sewer, the toilet was loose and the safe didn't work. They moved us - twice - and we thought we had a winner until bedtime when we found that one of the blinds was broken, neither of the bedside power outlets worked, and the dated USB outlets didn't make enough power to charge our newer style phones. This room was still dirty .. not dusted, nasty carpet, with a little mold in the shower. We went up to the rooftop bar and ordered a drink each - $44 later we went to sit down in the corner lounge area, but it was disgusting - like crime scene filthy with stained dusty couches, puke stains, and all the plants were wilted as they had not been watered in who knows how long - it was disgusting and very disappointing - between the neglected dingy appearance and the drink prices we understood why we were the only ones up there. Drinks are around the same price around the corner at the Roosevelt rooftop - just saying! Then there was the restaurant - we ended up having to go there 3 times during our stay - the first for dinner - there has been a game that day and the restaurant had about a dozen really loud, drunk obnoxious fans who were using language and behaviour that just is not appropriate in any restaurant let alone a Hilton one. We actually didn't feel safe as some of the drunk loud people were overly aggressive. Staff made no attempt to do anything about it. We ordered simple meals from a pretty rude waiter and waited and waited - while waiting this gave us time to notice that the restaurant was pretty dirty as well - not quite as bad as the rooftop bar, but it was pretty grubby. Eventually after 40 minutes we went to the bar to ask how long it would be, only to see our meals sitting behind the bar - the waiter said they just came out .. they were stone cold. We ate a little as we were hungry and left. Breakfast was ordinary - not much different to say a Hampton Inn. My wife had to work from the hotel room and went down to get some lunch, but the restaurant staff was so rude she left and went elsewhere. I usually don't write lengthy reviews, but this stay at what is supposed to be a Tapestry Collection Hilton was so bad in so many ways, that it needs to be written about. Hopefully Hilton may see the many recent poor reviews and take steps to turn it around - either that or take the Hilton name off it!

Yelp
Terrible from the get go and I'm not a complainer usually. Upon our check-in, we were let known that the room was not ready at 4 PM. They gave us some drink coupons to take care of us. They said I could have the penthouse, but both televisions would not work. At breakfast the next morning servers were nowhere to be found. I looked into the kitchen and saw someone on their cell phone dancing. I managed to get her attention and immediately order my breakfast, which took over a half an hour to get to me. All in all this Hilton property sucks.

Yelp
Super cute hotel. The only thing I didn't like was that there was no parking on site. You could valet you vehicle for $45 a night. There is a parking lot that you could park at for $1000. Kidding on that part but it was a pretty penny for 3 days. The bed could have been better but we survived. I would stay here again. Also, I don't know what they used but it smelled amazing in our room.

Yelp
The staff at the Troubadour are amazing. Very welcoming and helpful. The rooftop bar is a great place to hang out after a long day around town. I'm so happy that this hotel is a Hilton property which are my favorite places to stay.

Yelp
A bed with black marks, a floor with pee stain looking marks, a horrible unending weed smell in my room, cigarette smell in my floor, a closed roof area, and hot room without a working thermostat. My room had a terrible smell of bad weed. After a horrible headache I convinced them to switch my room. My new room was missing a clock, alarm clock, glasses, the door for the fridge was ripped off, and the thermostat wasn't working (and my room was hot). The people were nice, but I was so disappointed in this hotel and definitely will not stay here again as even the bed was uncomfortable and every day they would tell me the roof was opening the next day and it never opened. Save yourself some grief & money and stay at any of the other Hilton locations nearby, especially if you want to avoid black mark on your bed spread and pee marks on your floor and the headache inducing smell from weed, cigarette smoke, and a perfume that the hotel obviously sprayed to try and cover those two smells. -on a positive note I will say that whoever clean my room was very wonderful and other staff were generally nice. But still doesn't overcome an otherwise old, disappointing hotel. As a frequent traveller and gold Hilton member, I definitely do not recommend.

Yelp
This review is ONLY going to the service provided at the lobby bar by Rachel. I have been to this hotel specifically Monkey Board Bar but I have never had such great service until I sat at the bar in the lobby and was served by Rachel. She mDe the best lemon drops and Blueberry lemon drops I ever tasted there. I loved her vibes and that she carried great conversations with her guests that sat at the bar. If it wasn't for it being so hot upstairs in the rooftop I would've never met Rachel. I'm definitely going back to get some drinks from her. A1

Yelp
The hotel was not as nice as I expected it to be. Especially for the $131/night. I love Hilton hotels and usually have a great experience. This hotel was definitely the exception with bodily fluids on both the comforter and pillow case. I will not be staying at this hote again...

Yelp
We had a weekend couple getaway and decided to stay here. This is a beautiful hotel however...: only ONE elevator works out of the THREE they have! The trick to not wait 10 minutes (I am NOT exaggerating) to get on the elevator is to push BOTH up and down buttons on all elevators. Then that will let you wait 5 minutes. Why does only ONE elevator work?! The rooftop deck that was amazing! It had a bar and lounging. However it would be nice to have it limited to guests of the hotel and not just random people off the street. The room was nice and the giant shower was amazing! I wish the breakfast was free though. Or free for Hilton honors members!

Yelp
I did an overnight stay at the Troubadour when in New Orleans. My flight arrives around 10am and I went straight to the hotel. I knew my room probably wasn't ready, but I decided to store my luggage. Romanica was at the front desk and checked me in; she also stored my overnight bag and gave me my ticket. I asked her for any brunch recommendations and she recommended a spot right down the block - Two Chicks Cafe. I chose not to go to Two Chicks, but went elsewhere and about an hour or so later, Romanica texted me saying my room was ready. After finishing brunch, I went back to the hotel, got my bag, and went up to my room. The room was so cute! Stylish, nice and clean, large king bed, and nice features - a little tight, but doable. The bathroom was a good size, with a nice shower. Overall, I didn't have any issues with the hotel. The staff was nice, the room was clean, and everything was status quo.

Yelp
This is a really cool place, I believe it can be cleaner... the rooftop is great vibe. Walking distance to French quarter and bourbon street, easy check in staff was helpful cause the put us in the wrong unit at first, they were able to change in by one phone call.

Yelp
My group of friends and I had a great stay at The Troubadour for our 4 day New Orleans trip this winter. The service, rooms and rooftop bar were the most memorable parts of my experience here. We booked two rooms and were able to have them on the same floor. The agent that checked us in (I don't remember her name) was very nice and was even able to help us connect one of my friend's Hilton Honors accounts with mine so that we could all have free breakfast. We also met Carl during check in. I'm not sure what Carl's position title is, but I loved how upbeat and funny he was. My group enjoyed having small talk with him anytime we were in the lobby. The king room that I was in was a good size and very clean. The double queen room that my friend's slept in was also spacious and clean. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable hotel mattress I've ever slept on, but I would still rate the bed/sleeping experience an 8/10 without hesitation. Their rooftop bar is called the "Monkey Board". I LOVED their rooftop bar. The design of the space is beautiful. My group and I visited this bar on two different days during happy hour (4pm-6pm). The bar wasn't too busy on either day, but I am sure it is busier at night time. On the last day of my trip, I discovered that the 2nd floor had a gorgeous lounge area. This is the perfect place if you want to relax or catch up with friends in an open space. I wish I had discovered it earlier in my trip. Even though this hotel is not in the French Quarter, you can easily get there within 15 minutes on foot.

Yelp
The lobby bar is fantastic! Storie was great. Drinks are great and music was even better. This place is fantastic. Totally recommend

Yelp
This was quite possibly my worst hotel experience, ever. Of the myriad issues, one of the biggest was noise. They host fraternity and prom events (Fri-Sun) without any adult supervision and simply allow their lobby and second floor to be entirely taken over by kids in the afternoons and evenings. The inability to move through the lobby anytime between 12 pm-12 was problematic but the noise was unbearable. We could hear the music from several blocks away as we walked back from dinner- couldn't believe that a hotel would allow those music levels until 12 am. We tried to call the front desk for over 45 mins and no one answered. They just didn't care. The elevators were unreliable with one or more out of service so 15 min waits. No hot water one morning. And, not only could they not accommodate an early check-in but check in was an hour late! Finally, the service in the restaurant for breakfast was atrocious. We finally left and ate elsewhere. I am not sure if they are closing the hotel down for renovations so have basically given up but, as a Hilton rewards member, it was so disappointing. And really negatively affected our weekend in NO. A big bummer.

Yelp
This is a gem of a hotel. The price is right as well for a legit 4-star hotel. Stayed last Wed-Sun. Location was perfect since you're only a 15 minute walk from the bedlum of Bourbon St. and about a 10 min walk to the Warehouse District. Plenty of good restaurants and other really good hotel bars/restaurants immediately surrounding the hotel everywhere. A very short walk also to Canal St. where one can catch a streetcar. The staff was meh. Not overly nice but not a bunch of rude or too cool for school people either. The room was really sharp, modern, and comfortable. I've read some reviews about some King rooms being small but mine felt great. Spacious bathroom with a pretty big walk-in shower. Bed was very comfy. Only negative was the quality of the towels in the bathroom. Really thin and low quality. Reminiscent of commercial grade dish towels. Wasn't a huge issue for me but if some diva wants to be pampered then they might be underwhelmed. The walls seemed a little thin also I'll add. Really cool rooftop bar that gives you stunning views of the city!! Worth going up there even if you aren't a guest. I would definitely stay here again. It's great value in the CBD and close enough to everything via walking. Really perfect location for me.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I have stayed at many hotels within my lifetime and I have never met such lazy staff. They refused to restock the fridge with water and did not provide Hilton Members with their benefits. This establishment is an embarrassment to the Hilton name. I hope these troubling issues are resolved soon for the sake of this establishment.

Yelp
A very nice boutique hotel the lobby can be somewhat noisy especially on a Friday or Saturday evening but that is the case with everything in New Orleans during nice weather.

Yelp
Pretty good hotel in the downtown/CBD area - really close walking distance (10 mins) to the French Quarter and Jackson Square (15 mins). Room was nice and modern, had a bit of some weird decor (see pic below) but overall had good amenities. Would have been 5 stars, but the walls were paper thin and we could hear EVERYTHING in the hallways and neighboring rooms.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous hotel. The rooms were clean and modern and had a super comfortable bed and pillows. The room was very quiet and relaxing. The rooftop bar provided great city views. Easy walk to Canal and Burboun street and Mercedes Benz stadium and Lyft rides were about 3-5 minute wait times if needed. The only negative was the downstairs lobby bar/breakfast area. I see it has changed names from the previous reviews and the property info on the app but they need to change it again. Breakfast ended at 10 ( advertised till 11) as the staff said they were already to busy and were done for the day. The cocktail was weak and the clerk was not sure how to make an old fashioned. They had 2 people working the bar after the Saints / Falcons came completed and one was brand new and needed support. My advise to guests stay here the hotel is amazing but get food and drink elsewhere. If you have free breakfast due to membership consider it offering cold options only (cereal fruit ect) and of you end up with something warm Bonus. Still highly recommend and would stay here again if the price is right.

Yelp
I was happy to call the troubadour my home away from home while visiting NOLA. Check in is normally at 4PM but I arrived at 7AM and the front desk assistant was able to check me in early as well as give me a room on a higher floor (13th to be exact). These rooms are smaller than standard hotel rooms but they used the space adequately. The mini bar and fridge was stocked well with alcohol and I had all of the amenities for a great stay. My favorite thing was the shower. I'm used to either hotel showers having too little pressure or too much pressure. This shower was just right. Everything was clean to my standards and trust me, I have big standards about where I lay my head. The rooftop bar, Monkey Board, offered a gorgeous view. I only went during the day, not at night since I was usually too sleepy to make my way up lol. I could hear the music a bit from my bedroom at night but it wasn't overbearing. The petit lion bar downstairs is also a great touch to the hotel.

Yelp
At first glance this hotel has a nice exterior and it's in a great location (hence the 2 stars). You're not far from the Superdome or Canal Street. However, if traveling during the pandemic and safety protocols are important to you -- I would look elsewhere for accommodations. My room had a sign that read 'non-smoking', however the room reeked of cigarette smoke. It was so bad I purchased plug-ins from a nearby CVS. The room also had signage stating that it was cleaned thoroughly, but I found several things that led me to believe otherwise. 1. There were pieces of hair still on the bedding as well as grease stains on the pillow case. Luckily, I travel with my own bedding for safety reasons. 2. There were stains left on the bathroom sink that I was able to wipe up easily with Lysol. 3. The shower looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in a while. I only stayed for a night, but I couldn't wait until check-out. Also, be sure to have $25 for parking across the street if you decide to stay here. The hotel offers garage parking, but as everyone else has noted -- it is VERY sketch.

Yelp
I stayed at The Troubadour for 1 night while visiting NOLA. It was a Sunday and arrived at the hotel around noon. The lobby was very small with limited seating and it was crowded because so many people were checking out. I was informed by the woman at the front desk that there was no early check-in available, but she would add my name to a list to get a text when my room was ready. I left my luggage with "concierge" and went to explore the city while I waited for a text. I was never contacted and happened to head back to the hotel around 4pm (check-in time) and when I arrived my room was ready. I put "concierge" in quotes because I want to note the staff at the hotel were not dressed in a way that they could be seen as employees of the hotel. Although they had on business casual attire, they could use name tags or some sort of badge or pin so they are easily identifiable as staff and not guests. It was raining on this particular day so I did not check out the rooftop bar, however my room was very nice and clean. The bathroom and shower were spacious and the King bed was comfortable. During my stay I ordered room service from the restaurant in the hotel (cheeseburger and brussel sprouts) and it was really good. When I checked in I was informed to call the front desk if I needed ice. I did so and was brought a plastic bag full of crushed ice. Since there are no ice buckets, there was nowhere to put it except the bathroom sink. This issue should probably be addressed by hotel management. I would give my stay here a B-

Yelp
What could have been a great stay turned into a terrible one really quickly. My husband and I drove in from Lafayette to go to a Saints game. We pull up and decide to valet park. We went back and fourth on pros and cons to valet parking..yes the price is a bit high ($45) but we agreed we would rather pay that price knowing our vehicle was in safe hands (or so we thought). We planned to check in on a Saturday afternoon and to check out Sunday then head to Saints game at noon. Upon walking in, I was pleasantly surprised..cute atmosphere, smelled terrific. Check in process went very smoothly. They were even able to allow us to check in 3 hours early which we were very happy about. We were looking forward to going to the rooftop bar (Monkeyboard) that evening to learn that there was a private event that evening and we would be unable to which was a bit disappointing but we knew there was much more we could do so no big deal. We walk to elevators to find out only 1 of the 3 are actually working at this time. We get to the room-small but unique. Went to use the restroom and sink was broken (stopper stuck and wouldn't drain) we went to call downstairs to let them know and phones not working. Not a huge deal..went downstairs to the front desk and they assured us someone would be right up. We told them we would be going to walk around the city and grab lunch and let them know they are welcome to go in room to look at sink/fix. We come back to the room about 2 hours later and sink still not fixed. So my husband goes back downstairs and suggested we just move rooms. They were accommodating and we moved to another room and they did give us $100 off of our stay for the inconvenience which I thought was very nice. The room we moved to was a bit bigger but overall you can tell these rooms need a good cleaning and some updates. Bed is not very comfortable. You can feel/hear mattress protector crinkling with every move you make. Fast forward Sunday..we go downstairs to check out and after doing so we decided to grab a bite to eat at the buffet while we wait on valet to bring our vehicle. We go outside to grab our key to be told by valet that our vehicle (brand new might I add that I just got for Christmas) had been hit in their garage. Lots of conflicting stories and finger pointing and when asked if their was cameras in the garage we were told there is but not on the 2nd floor where my vehicle was parked. We learned it happen Saturday night to which they claim they attempted to call us and knock on our door. No such missed call and of course we are not in our room at that time. Sooo, with this being said we also let them know we were not paying for the valet parking and they were very understanding of that. Since we were dealing with all of this BS..we missed the first quarter of the game. Oh and to top it off the Saints lost. All around disappointing weekend. And I should note that the hotel did absolutely NOTHING to make it right for paying for the damage THEIR STAFF did. Basically told us we could go to court if we chose to pursue it. BEWARE!!

Yelp
Three stars doesn't reflect the hotel or room but the front desk check in. We only stay at Hilton's and this way the worst check in service I've ever experienced. As I approached the check in desk I wasn't greeted, was then left there waiting while the guy did I don't know what, but in my experience the customer comes first and you can finish what you're doing after. Or say please excuse me, ect None of that. I wasn't asked how my travels were, wasn't told about the WiFi, wasn't welcomed as a Hilton Gold member. Wasn't told about breakfast or anything. It honestly felt like I was checking into a Motel 8.

Yelp
Very nice hotel My first time staying here and the staff were all very nice... i was looking forward to viewing the rooftop bar however rain was too bad! The hotel restaurant named Jayne was nice i was bothered because they ran out of gumbo and they just opened at four I arrived at five however the fish sandwich I ordered was really delicious!!! The staff was very courteous! The room I had was a king sized bed (which was very comfortable) and the room itself was small the main perk i loved about the hotel room was the shower absolutely loved the shower! I would stay here again but maybe another room maybe with two beds or if they a suite it was a bit for me
