"Why book?  “Check in, surf out”  ... the Twin Fin’s tagline says it all.  Full disclosure, I’m not a surfer myself, but I am married to one, so am always on the lookout for this elusive location—a chilled out spot where the break is right out front and I can watch the action from the comfort of a gorgeous room—after my own epic run, of course, followed by an extended dip in a calm and beautiful sea. Also on the list, a pool and fantastic restaurants within walking distance. All boxes = ticked!  Set the scene A convergence of only-in-Waikiki mix of holiday makers from around the globe glides up the colorful mural-flanked escalators to reception, chats while swiping cards for the floor-specific elevators, mixes at breakfast, and lazes around the mezzanine level pool.  Australians, Americans, Asians, Europeans; influencers, honeymooners, young families, retirees, mixed-gen groups on holiday—everyone is having the best time ever—this is people watching (and meeting!) central  The backstory  Fresh off a multi-million dollar renovation by the Highgate Group, the Twin Fin has breathed new life into the former Aston Waikiki.  Reinvigorated rooms are just the start of the new management’s vision for the 645 room property. Common areas feature massive, abstract ocean-inspired murals by POW! WOW!, an international group of creatives dedicated to community building through art; a vintage Airstream trailer is being set up behind the street level carport for use as an eco-education center. The Twin Fin takes its role as steward of its very special position, both socially and environmentally, very seriously, and in the most engaging way.  The rooms Bright light fills the spacious, ocean front rooms decorated in breezy-beachy-mid-century, with turquoise, coral and sand tones that blend seamlessly into the scenery and give a nod to the classic '60s exterior. Double sliding glass doors lead to furnished lanai’s offering phenomenal seagulls-eye views of endless sea during the day followed by the always spectacular sunsets, then the glittering strip at night. Absolute heaven.  Food and drink I’m not a huge breakfast person IRL, but “hotel breakfast” is another thing entirely—and here it comes with a view that takes it to the next level (literally).  A warm Aloha welcome greets you at the Coconut Club on the 21st floor,  offering three rotating cooked-to-order hot entrees, a buffet of tropical fruit and pastry, plus a panorama of Diamond Head and the whole of the Waikiki coastline. Grab a seat on the balcony (where it can still be a bit chilly as the sun rises behind you) and leisurely watch the clouds and sea cycle through the full spectrum of daybreak pinks and blues as you plan your adventure of the day while enjoying refills from the espresso machine In the evening, head down to poolside Tiki’s (somewhat cheesy, but also kinda great) and treat yourself to a Mai-Tai ( in the souvenir glass of course ) as you watch the sun dip below the horizon and the clouds and sea put on the second spectacular show of the day The neighborhood/area Perfectly situated at the quieter Diamond Head end of Kalākaua Ave,  the location absolutely can’t be beat.  Just across the street, the warm Pacific; to the left, green Kapi’olani park, where local families bbq beneath the massive banyan figs and enjoy wide stretches of sand on uncrowded Queens Beach. I loved heading this way for an early morning run—just past the park is the historic neighborhood of Tudor and French Norman cottages, plucked straight from a fairytale. Then a chain of smaller beach parks and hidden ocean walkways dot the road on the way to Diamond Head Beach Park, a beautiful stretch of sand you’ll most likely have all to yourself, save for the surfers, just specks in the distance/ And, of course, to the right, there's the Waikiki strip. Enjoy this turn after the sun had set for dinner, followed by some world-class window shopping The service Aloha, personified. Warm welcome at reception, every single member of the staff went enthusiastically out of their way to help and make it the best stay possible.  For families A fantastic choice. The calm, protected ocean pools of Kuhio beach just out front provide a safe ocean swimming experience for all ages, and the Waikiki Aquarium and Honolulu Zoo are both just a short stroll way, both interesting diversions from all of the fun in the sun (or in case of a passing shower). Just a bit further afield,  enquire at the activities desk about booking luau at Nutridge, set high up in the jungly Tantalu’s rising behind Honolulu. “Ohana” (family) is the center of this traditional  and interactive experience, including entertainment, games and food; it’s one not to be missed. The resort fee also covers rentals at Beach Candy on the street level, where guests can easily pick up surfboards, paddleboards, floaties, coolers, beach chairs and umbrellas for daily use. Eco effort  Partnering with “Parley for the Oceans” the Twin Fin sponsors six beach clean up events per year, and are also making great strides to protect the environment on a daily basis. Mananalu brand aluminum (BPA free) water bottles are provided on arrival, refillable at stations throughout the hotel, and all single use plastic has been eliminated from service ( at the time of our stay, in-room coffee pods were the only exception, soon to be replaced with an eco-friendly option)  But if you do find yourself with an item that needs recycling, bins are easily accessible on all floors." - Zoe Westman

This is an older hotel but they have good service. The rooms are no frills but are okay if you're really just needing a shower and a good night's rest. I like that they provide reusable aluminum water bottles and have refill water stations on ever other floor. I like that they provide free sunscreen and beach stuff. The restaurant there was actually pretty good and will serve you poolside during the day. The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was controlled in room.

Our stay was absolutely phenomenal! The room was impeccably clean and fresh, with a bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud. Waking up to a breathtaking ocean view every morning was pure magic. Everything down to the towels was spotless, and housekeeping kept the room sparkling throughout our stay. I could rave for hours about how impressed we were, but if you know me – I only leave reviews when a place goes above and beyond, and let me tell you, this place exceeded all expectations!||A special shoutout to Fernando, who went the extra mile to make our stay even more enjoyable. His friendly and attentive service was a huge part of what made this trip unforgettable.

The Twin Fin location is convenient and right next to everything. Right across from the beach next to shops, restaurants, and the zoo. I really liked and appreciated that they provided sunblock and reusable water bottles. There is always water stations to refill your water throughout the day. The view from our room was beautiful. Now for the negative things about the hotel room. You consistently have to go all the way down to the front desk to ask for something, even towels. When you did request something or assistance, it would take over an hour to get help. The elevator system is really slow and takes forever.

Not just this hotel, but most of the hotels along the beach are a bit dated. Some of the retrofits that have been done over the years are funky, but liveable. The lobby area is beautiful and the service staff are very friendly. Always smiles and very helpful! After staying for a week, I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is at the end of the strip so you have less people at the beach in front of the hotel but easy access to all of the restaurants and shopping of the strip. Valet parking is 50+ a day so find a parking garage for 30+ or hunt down street parking. Spoiler, you will never find street parking within about 10 blocks of the hotel so don't even try. All the parking garages were at capacity as well so we ended up paying for valet. The valet people are very friendly and very fast at getting the cars. You can request the car via text so it's ready when you get to the 1st floor. It is pricey, but it is really the only option. The staff make the hotel. It is easier to overlook the little things that don't work right because they are so great. Also, you can't beat being right across the street from a walled swim area and an open beach with beautiful sand and blue waters.

You can book this hotel for cheap but you'll get your money's worth. The facilities are old except the gym which I think is relatively renovated. The pool is small. The room is okay. It is comfortable but it is small and there are really not much amenities. The shower head is placed so low. It's built for someone who is 5ft tall. The service is average. It takes a while before can get someone to attend to your needs if you need any. My experience at Park Shore is much better. It can be booked for the same price. The Hyatt is probably $25-50 more per night but the facilities and rooms are so much better. One thing this hotel has is the view of Diamond Head and the partial view of the ocean which I thought were great. I'd book this hotel again only if I'm on a budget. A little disappointed with my stay.

Google
Outstanding stay. This hotel has everything to offer. Great view. Awesome location. Two complimentary metal water bottles and refilling stations. Beautiful pool area. Deal with local shop to provide beach needs; chairs, umbrella, boards, etc. Valet parking. Super friendly staff. If you visit Hawaii, stay at The Twin Fin.

The housekeeping staff were very nice, but check in counter always made us feel like we were putting them out. It’s a nice location, close to lots of shopping and restaurants you can walk to, but you have to cross the street for the beach—it’s hard to tell that from the photos on the website. The elevators are the worst design I’ve ever seen—expect to be waiting every time. The carpets are dingy and stained and everything is just slightly run down. Rooms facing the street are LOUD. Electronics (phone/tv/outlets) in the room are spotty at best. Not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but I would never stay there again.

During my breakfast on the lovely rooftop breakfast place called the “Coconut Club”, a man told me that he stayed in most of the swanky hotels along the coast but that this hotel has by far the best views. I’m going to miss some of the staff, and falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. Thank you so much for everything, Twin Fin. I will return soon 🤙🏽🌺

Yelp
The twin fin went above and beyond for our stay. Started off with helping us get the rooms that fit mine and my family's expectations. Oceanfront 12th floor was awesome really anything above the 8th floor is awesome. This hotel is not a brand new fancy fancy. But it's definitely well taken care of. The staff was very helpful in a situation we had with a family member who got hurt while on vacation. Let me tell you just their kindness and compassion has won us over every time we come out to Oahu from now on. The views were awesome. The rooms were very comfortable with new paint, bedding and wall decor. The tv was a plus with being able to connect our phones so kids could watch whatever they want in the morning or night before bed. I would recommend the twin fin to anyone who is looking for a friendly, family loving, closer to the beach hotel. Remember to just be kind! They are human just like us. "The world is full of kind people...... if you can't find one BE ONE" Thank you twin fin for everything we will definitely be back!!!!

Yelp
The Twin Fin came to the rescue. After a major error from Alohilani (who will never get my money again) my partner and I were transferred to stay at the twin fin instead. The Twin Fin staff truly helped get us an oceanfront view king room. The room was a tad dated, but that's kind of the charm and it was clean and had everything we needed minus some plates and cutlery to heat up leftovers. Right by the beach, great service, AMAZING on site restaurant, and just made the trip honestly chill. Will gladly stay at Twin Fin again! Thank you for making things right for us (and forever angry at Alohilani)

Yelp
This was our first time in Hawaii and our trip was for a special occasion. The Twin Fin Hotel did everything possible to ensure that we did not enjoy our stay in this hotel. In my review I put 1 star, and it's not dedicated to the Twin Fin Hotel. We stayed from the 21st to 24th of January.  I booked 1 Ocean View King on January 19 through booking.com.  Upon arrival at the hotel, the front desk manager did not find our reservation in the system. That day, we wasted an hour for something that should take 10 minutes.  For such "excellent work" Booking.com and The Twin Fin Hotel can split zero stars between each other.  Other than the time wasted our mood was spoiled from the very beginning of our stay at this hotel. The only 1 star in the header of my review is dedicated to the front desk manager Jacroy.  This guy deserves praise because he went 10 extra miles for us, trying to fix the problem that happened with our booking ASAP. Thank you, Jacroy! Later, having met the rest of the front desk staff, I realized how lucky we were that it was Jacroy that was at the front desk at that time. Later that day we contacted the front desk employee, an elderly woman (I don't remember her name), for the breakfast room service, she said that the hotel does not provide food to the rooms (which is generally sad), she added that we can use the services of Uber Eats (which is generally acceptable) and order food to the hotel, for example from Denny's (What?...) .  That was about it for me, a four star hotel should consider what their staff suggests when met with an inquiry like the one I had. Neither  booking.com nor the hotel website mentioned the lack of this simple type of room service. But what they do mention is the Coconut club breakfast experience... ‍ Never, EVER go there.  For 55$ per room you will get a choice of three breakfast items (non of them are eggs), a poor selection of fruit consisting of strawberries and grapes (not even a piece of pineapple which BTW the face of Hawaii), and a couple of muffins.  And an excellent experience of the self serving Long story short, after this "breakfast" we went to a different place and had an actual breakfast. About the hotel: The rooms are old (our room particularly).  We had no water pressure in the shower at all. You pay for literally everything even the things that in some other hotels are complimentary, (bless them for not  charging you to use their elevators.)  At the check out, they put extra 7$ tax as my contribution to the sustainability of Hawaiian beaches. Instead of asking me if I wanted to make a contribution, the employee simply included it and I would find out about it after the fact.  I think this is also very unprofessional, like everything else at The Twin Fin Hotel. I of course left it in the bill and would have have gladly contributed even more for the amazing beaches in Hawaii but not in the slick way of it being put in my bill without any notice. A few tips for newly arrived tourists, if you have already booked a room in this hotel, do not be discouraged and look at the positive aspects: - Location is really good, within 15 walk you can reach places where you will actually enjoy your time, and a lot of breakfast/dinner spots with a great vibes and views. -Tiki's grill and bar located at the pool area is a very nice place too. To The Twin Fin Hotel:  Do not lie to people saying that  you are a 4 star hotel, be honest of the fact that you are a 3 star one, so that expectations can match the reality of the situation, and set the price accordingly.   I don't want to let it happen that anybody else will have such a poor experience of staying in the paradise island. I will make sure all of my friends or subscribers of my travel blog or people I know will be warned about this hotel.

Yelp
Horrible black mold mold in the shower and on the bed s the customer service.was the only ok thing.Had to leave after one day of being there I couldn't breath.

Yelp
For $355 per night Oceanview 2 double beds, inclusive of taxes, resort fees, and valet parking, the Twin Fin Waikiki offers a solid oceanfront experience with stunning views from our 20th-floor room. Waking up to the ocean each morning was a highlight. Despite the hotel's claim of being remodeled, signs of wear were apparent, notably in the restroom with its subpar shower curtains. Nonetheless, the staff, particularly Fernando during check-in, were delightful. Just be aware of additional expenses like $56.20 for valet parking and $60.16 for resort fees per night, which can add up, especially for longer stays. Housekeeping was not provided during our stay. Also, takes 20-30mins to retrieve car from valet. We thoroughly enjoyed our four-night stay, especially because the beach was just a hop away, adding to the overall convenience and enjoyment of our experience.

Kristen D.

Yelp
I stayed at the Twin Fin for one of the two nights I had paid for. I ended up leaving due to the fact that the room felt very dingy and the air conditioning was not working. The fact that the AC wasn't working made my first night extremely unpleasant since I am from a colder climate. I was also concerned about the amount of surge protectors and extension cords in the room itself. The area around the hotel was very noisy, construction for an adjacent property began promptly in the morning and woke me up. The room itself was rather dirty with old fixtures, the door to the bathroom looks like someone had chewed on it. The linens were like sand paper. The hotel reminded me of a motel 6. The downstairs entrance stank of sulfur and when I arrived at the lobby for check in I was greeted by a puddle of vomit. This definitely is not a hotel you'd want to stay at on a business trip, there is no where to actually work in the room. If one had never been to Hawaii and was on a very cheap budget this place may be ok, but only if you're not in the room much. The partial ocean view was nice, but then again no matter where you stay that is nice.

May P.

Yelp
The new owners trash that place...The famous tiki room is no the same the place smell terrible and is dirty..plus they have a very rude and aggressive guy working in the first floor selling tours...his name is Michael ...be away of that guy he is going to scam you

Yelp
Perfect beach front spot in Waikiki! Right next door to the Waikiki Zoo and not far a walk from the heart of downtown Waikiki shopping and more restaurants. I've stayed here twice already, and I'll never get enough of it. Mainly because I just love being in Hawaii and aside from the pool area not having a hot tub (4 stars) but they do have a bar & grill restaurant semi rooftop off the 2nd floor with Good live music entertainment when they're there, a great happy hour, and hotel guest beach rentals that is very convenient downstairs, and everyone working seems great by far. It is one of the main hotels which offer tour bus pick ups and such for excursions so you don't have to find a shuttle or trolly far! Ill be back again!

Suzanne H.

Yelp
Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was on the 22nd floor with a spectacular view. The location is fantastic - near the Honolulu Zoo and close to shopping and restaurants.

Roseanne P.

Yelp
I had stayed at the Twin Fin during a recent stay in Waikiki this past August. We had a rental car and dropping the car was quick and I will say the valet service was excellent throughout our stay. Check in process went smoothly and I loved seeing the pool area by the front desk. Our room was fairly clean and housekeeping was super accommodating. The bed was pretty comfortable and I had great sleep during my stay. No issues with the room at all and the air conditioning was a savior during the hot days! We had a small balcony in our room and that view was beautiful!! I loved the location as it was right across the street from the beach and a Starbucks right around the corner. I will say the elevators were pretty efficient as it assigned elevators that would just go directly to your floor. Only downside was during a rush. Another plus was they do provide refillable water bottles and they had a refill station right near the valet. It was super convenient and was able to fill my water bottle whenever I headed out. The Twin Fin is located on the quieter side of Kalakaua Ave but I didn't mind it. I had a great stay! The employees were all so great and made us feel so welcomed every single day!

Yelp
Twin Fin Waikiki has been my go to for 2 years running and I am planning to go back this month and October. If at all in the stars, next January as well. I have stayed a few other places in Waikiki but once finding this gem, why stay anywhere else? Please do not let the Negative Nancys deter you from staying here. For the proximity to the beach and the price alone Book it without waiting!. The front desk is so helpful. The obvious standout is NIcole P., she always goes above and beyond, responsive and customer service oriented. If I could steal her for my team, I would but who would move from beautiful Hawaii. Jacroy and Amber are nice and helpful as well. People who complain about 4 star blah blah, check your credit card statement, you aren't paying for the Hilton. This is a Nice, clean hotel across from the beach. Stop complaining, you are in Hawaii-your life is Sweet! Yes, the valet is expensive. They all are. Park down the street for free if you are on a budget. I have never been surprised by resort fees in Hawaii. I ask for a complete break down in writing Before I book. This place rocks! Clean. Free beach stuff (what a savings), toiletries in the room that smell amazing. The partial ocean view is where you save money too! See you soon Twin Fin!

Yelp
The Twin Fin has been our go to hotel back to when it was the Aston Waikiki. One of the highlights of our annual trips has always been the staff at Twin Fin. We first met Lillian in 2019 and have come back every year because of her. She has such a welcoming and warm presence about her that makes seeing her feel more like seeing family than being helped by staff. Her knowledge of the island and all the amenities available to guests made our planning very easy. Speaking of amenities .. their partnership with Beach Candy make life easier when you don't want to buy / bring beach chairs/umbrellas/ paddle boards to the island. Their restaurants are both worth mentioning. Coconut club has amazing breakfast views and is definitely worth checking out. They have a rotation of three entrees to choose from that change daily accompanied with fresh fruits, juice, and great macadamia nut coffee. Tikis.. their tiki resto bar has live music at night with good food and nice cocktails. I recommend springing extra for the souvenir cups. When you're in Hawaii location and parking are always a concern. One benefit of the hotel is at the east end of the strip. It's a little quieter than the west end. That make it easier to get to Teddys Bigger Burgers, Rainbows Drive Inn, Zippys, a supermarket, and Leonard's Malasadas. There's a Starbucks around the corner for anyone lookin for Hawaii themed Starbucks mugs / tumblers. The valet parking attendants have always been really friendly and have come to know me and my family after all of our trips out. I just got back home last night from my trip and I honestly already miss waking up at the Twin Fin. Time to plan next years adventure. Lillian if you ever get to read this I hope we get to see you again sooner than later! Congrats on the promotion! We hope you get many more!

Francisco A.

Yelp
Im here for over a week the place has good food and great service. Michael, in valet, immaculate service since we been here. Hands down this gentleman make you feel welcomed and greets us every time we show up.

Leah B.

Yelp
We loved our stay at The Twin Fin! Service was excellent! The hotel was lovely! Our "partial ocean view" was spectacular! We're there problems? Yes and they were taken care of quickly and efficiently. Every one was helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was nice for us on our first trip to Waikiki. We were close to a trolley pick up point, across the street from the zoo. Excellent restaurants in and around the corner... And the beach was right across the street!!! What a gorgeous was to wake up! We got a text message every day asking us if there was any way they could enhance our stay. I'm happy with our choice and would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Mahalo Twin Fin!!!

Del S.

Yelp
So.. we just got back from a weeklong stay at Twin Fin.. outside a few minor things, we couldn't be more pleased with our stay. Checked in, was advised the resort fee had increased. Now, $56.62 per night, higher than originally advised when we booked. We didn't rent a car (but if you do, valet parking is $50/night) we calculated the price of a rental car, average $100/day plus parking of $50 is way more than getting transport via Uber or Lift. We walked most of the time, took a tour, and were able to Uber even to North Side of the island, still less than renting a car and parking it for a 7 night stay. View was spectacular. We were in room 2119. Room was clean and had the needed amenities. Came with water bottles that could be refilled at stations all over the property. Lots of yummy food options on the premises as well as easy walking distance to many other options. (We tried Tiki's, Wolfgang Puck for Pizza and breakfast, the Crepe/Gelato, all were awesome) Main issues; the elevators went on the Fritz while we were there, and cards wouldn't work. They had to override for each guest to get to our rooms. Awesome security and technology for the elevators if it worked all the time. We were on the same floor as the Coconut Club. So if you're planning on sleeping in. You can hear the loud guests that are waiting to get into the club.. It was windy during our stay, and there was a loud whistling/howling sound that would come through the sliding door. Did I mention we smelled pot during our entire stay? I know the hotel can't change inconsiderate guests, but just in case.. you may get a whiff of it from your room. Taking everything into consideration, we'd stay again.. excellent location.. and the staff were accommodating from day one. Aloha!

Victor M.

Yelp
Twin Fin took over for the Aston Waikiki property and gave it a much needed upgrade to the property. The color decor is much more subdued and neutral. However, I think they kept a lot of the furniture from the Aston transition which should have been changed out. The guest rooms are spacious for the price, but they have no seating areas or table/desk in the room. Some maintenance issues need to still be addressed. The bathroom doors need to be sanded down or replaced. They still have a sewer smell in the lower lobby from the last time I stayed at this property. They also upgraded and installed a security elevator system which has its pros and cons. Most of the cons are related to higher demand time for the elevator and in hope the system doesn't go down. The Tiki Bar and Grill and the other restaurants operating within the property are now independent from the hotel. They do offer a changing set menu breakfast for their guest for $25 in the hotel. The hotel is located at the south end of the main Waikiki Kalakaua Avenue and convenient to everything within walking distance. I am not sure if I would rate this hotel as a 4-star property, but overall, for the value and location, the Twin Fin Hotel would fit many budgets for an enjoyable stay.

Liz G.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is older showing signs of wear and tear but that being said, the views were spectacular when we upgraded at check-in to a different room. The location is at the end of the Waikiki strip so not as noisy and congested as other hotels further down. We had a weird experience with housekeeping where they decided to come into our room after she saw us leave and asked what room we were in. We explained that we didn't require any services (we even had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door) but caught her in our room when we returned unexpectedly. In the remaining days, we tried to use the safe but in the last few days, it STOPPED working. VERY SHADY, just don't leave valuables in the room.

C E.

Yelp
Decent location with excellent views if you have the right rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Consistently out of beach stuff which is part of the daily resort fee. Additionally they cancelled several events that were included in the resort fee. If you go in expecting a budget, low end hotel it exceeds expectations. If you are looking for a nicer Hawaiian beach resort spend the extra money and stay elsewhere.

Marie S.

Yelp
When I booked this hotel it was under another name the Aston was bought out and named twin fin. The hotel is pretty old needs a make over. Our room was a suite- it was supposed to have 2 bedrooms- one with a door. It did not- it was two small double beds with a big living space, refrigerator and a Keurig. Pros : easy walk to beach - nice bar in hotel - go up to floor 24 great view of Diamond head Cons: shower was so low my husband had to lean down pretty far to wash. - asking for extra coffee ( there were 4 of us and you got 2 and extra towels - - charge a large resort fee- didn't have any chairs when we went to borrow First come first served- (I seen families get them in morning and keep them with them throughout the day.) - if you want a late check out - even an our you have to pay. -parking a car costs $60 / day

Rachael B.

Yelp
Issues started after checking in-- as the photos attached show. It seems like the only thing prepared for our room was the bed being made. Obvious dirty surfaces, a used towel left behind, and someone's razor sitting in the shower. Disgusting, unsanitary, and just unwelcoming. There should be no excuses for this anywhere or any time, especially considering staying here isn't exactly cheap. Valet is $50 per day. I get people need to make their money from tourists but almost $400 for a week just in parking? No thanks. We instead found free street parking (can be difficult, lots of people use it up for the beach) but we managed to find parking spots 5 out of the 7 nights we stayed. I would recommend finding street parking if you don't mind walking, or use another parking garage for cheaper. There are options that only charge $30/day. Everything is in walking distance anyway. Not to mention there is a $400 resort fee- for what? Beach towels ? The hotel offers nothing unless you pay additional money. Also many reviews I read in the past few months reported missing items, so of course that scared me and I had to hide all my valuables and be cautious, not very relaxing or comforting. Other than stated above the stay wasn't horrible, but just be prepared to pay a tremendous more amount when you arrive and you may not have a clean room waiting for you. I don't recommend this place as I'm sure there are far better hotels that offer more and hold themselves to higher standards.

Yelp
This is a post that I needed to take my time with. First of all I'm still on Island time. Lol! Being there for 2 weeks !!! Lol!! Yeah. We had our wedding in Oahu- Kualoa Ranch. When my fiancé at that time and now my husband we're looking to do a room block for our guests, we came across a few hotels, but the one person who took the time to answer all of our questions and gave us a breakdown and explained the discounts, was Monica Reyes, Manager at the Twin Fin. All of our guests were so happy with staff and how Monica's team went above and beyond to make sure we were all okay. Having a destination wedding was a dream come true! And knowing that we had the best customer service made it even more enjoyable. We want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH MONICA!!!! You are absolutely an amazing person!!!! You answered all of our emails and our calls and while we were there, we kept in touch and made it so smooth for us. Did I mention she also helped me get an Ocean view room for our wedding night and how beautiful she decorated the bed? We had a bottle of champagne and macaroons !!! YES!!!!! It was gorgeous! We will definitely be back... Actually we are returning in a month and looking forward to staying there again . Monica, a million thanks! We all had perfect rooms, you provided us with a conference room for my bridesmaids to get ready and we had mirrors and both of my friends that did everyone's hair-and makeup there just loved it!!! My bridesmaids love the privacy and how cool the room was while getting ready. Thank you . The Coconut Club Room is Awesome!!! Breakfast on the 21st floor!!!! Omg!!! The Tiki Bar and Grill has good ambiance and a very good mai tai. Monica, we'll be seeing you next month and can't wait Sending hugs to you and your team! Sincerely, Ofelia & Mike Alvarado

Yelp
I have stayed at the Twin Fin on all five trips to Honolulu. Relaxed hotel vibe, proximity to the beach, amenities and nice staff. This is not a glitzy hotel and that isn't the kind of hotel I need. Property and rooms are clean and lovely ocean views from the balcony. If that is all you need in a vacation, check it out! Mae at the front desk was exceptional!

Yelp
Great hotel overall. Location is as far South as possible in Waikiki tourist strip, next to the zoo and diamond head. This makes it not too crowded just outside the hotel. Price is reasonable, service excellent, and view/location doesn't get any better. Literally steps from the beautiful beach. The hotel Tiki restaurant on 2nd floor is convenient abd reasonably priced if you're looking to stay in. I will stay here every time I go back.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for about a week at the end of April/early May. We were dropped off in front of the hotel by our transportation company and directed towards the elevator. Check-in is on the third floor, but they have a security elevator system. Basically, you have to use a keycard to activate the elevator. We didn't have one yet because we hadn't checked in yet. One of the other guests quickly pointed out that you can get to the third floor without a key card. I soon learned there is also an escalator to the third floor if you walk past the elevators and turn right. We checked in and went up to our room. My first impression was that it wasn't the cleanest place I'd ever stayed. I'm not saying it was filthy, but maybe they hadn't washed the walls or repainted recently. In other words, it wasn't sparkling clean. Clean, just not impressively so. For the price, I'm not really complaining. We knew we didn't want housekeeping coming into the room so we put the hanger on the door. The entrance to our room was open air and the door hanger was constantly blowing off. I recommend they get magnets that can be put on the door frame for rooms that have outside doors. I've seen magnets used for this purpose at other hotels. Anyway, one of the perks of staying here (other than the location) is that you get free rental of three beach items per day per room from a shop around the corner. We got a beach umbrella and two body boards. It was really easy to use and much appreciated. You can also get towels for the beach from the front desk/pool area, and they have free sunscreen. All you have to do is ask. We rented scooters from the company in the alley behind the hotel. That was also easy and fun, and we got to explore without having to rent a car to get around. There is a car rental desk inside the hotel and also the hotel across the street if you don't already have a reservation. There is a very inexpensive public bus service on the island. Make sure you check the bus schedules. We went to Diamond Head by bus for $3.00 per person each way (have cash and exact change!). Also, the private bus to Germaine's Luau does pick up and drop off right in front of the hotel. The weather was great and we slept with the balcony door open each night. There was a nice breeze and we slept great. We spent such a small amount of time in the room I didn't see the point in asking for an ocean view. We were on the beach and viewing the ocean every time we walked across the street. One other note, the toilets were vacuum flush instead of gravity flush. We had an issue with ours. When I called they sent someone up immediately and it was fixed within minutes. I'm including a video to show how the elevator works. It isn't complicated but it was frustrating at times because each car would only go to a maximum of 2 floors per trip. That led to wait times at the elevator even though there are five of them. Basically, you enter your floor and swipe your key card. Then it tells you which elevator to use. There is a screen just inside each elevator's doors that show which floors it will be going to. No card is needed to get to floors 1 (ground) or 3 (front desk, pool). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we would stay there again. I'm not sure you can find a less expensive hotel in Waikiki that's across the street from the beach.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at the Twin Fin. Our room was the 11th floor oceanfront. I wanted something higher, front desk said we could change the 2nd night as she said they would be available. Turns out, being on the 11th floor was fine with us. The room was clean and comfortable. You do hear the DJ from Tiki's bar until 10:00pm every night. I'm a light sleeper, but it wasn't too loud when the front door is closed. Plenty of hot water from the shower, room had a fridge, no microwave. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I slept good each night. We had neighbors, but I never heard them through the walls. The views were awesome looking over the ocean as well as the sunset. We paid $55 for the Coconut club breakfast on the 21st floor. Food was not worth the price, but the views were great! The elevators are weird at first , but easy to figure out. Just scan you room card key, the screen will tell you which elevator to use, such as elevator "A", "B" etc. We would stay again at the Twin Fin :)

Yelp
This is actually a fun place to unwind. Foods, not to shabby but it's best to know exactly what you want to eat. Hub and I came here for dinner when we fist arrived. He had the steak number. The meat was very thick but cooked just right. However, it was kind of bland. It needed a lift. Steak sauce made a huge difference along with some Tabasco. I had the house salad-didn't have enough dressing and mediocre. O also got to try their kalua pork quesadilla. It was a little too salty but I managed to mask it with some salsa and sour cream. The seller was the entertainment. A guy brought his lively music and sang the heck out of it. He was endearing and kept us interested. I have to say though, the hostess was friendly and perky at all times we were dining. Music was great overall. I enjoyed that best. The second time, we just came for the live music again. We had a couple of cocktails a nice appetizer that went well with our drinks. Again, staff was super nice and on point. We got to keep our glasses for souvenirs. It's a fun place to unwind and relax. I recommend it and it's right on the strip of Waikiki.

Yelp
Terrible staff, smelly dated rooms, poor value for money! The only staff at your hotel who were pleasant and helpful was housekeeping. How sad is that? The army of 'managers' you have at reception are as useful as a screen door on a submarine. What happened to all your other staff that were there before? They seemed to understand the essence of hospitality and customer service. This time, however, my experience was marred by an astonishing lack of courtesy and efficiency. Requests made to the front desk were met with either a nonchalant shrug or unfulfilled promises. I actually had to come to the front desk FOUR TIMES IN ONE DAY to get my room key card reset because it didn't work each time I returned. It's a shame to see such a decline in service quality and staff professionalism. I hope you take this feedback seriously and work towards bringing back the level of service that once made your hotel a pleasant place to stay!

Laura F.

Yelp
Another update: It's Friday night, almost 10pm and it's super loud outside. Lots of loud music, people laughing, talking and you can hear it from the streets below. A lot of shops and restaurants right out front of the hotel and both directions, which is good if you need things, but not for noise. Stay off the strip or towards the back if you want it quieter.

Yumi P.

Yelp
This hotel's customer service is poor, the facility is run down, and the company advertises discounts that are not honored. I wrote a review regarding our poor experience during our stay and got a reply from customer service asking to reach out to them so that someone could address my concerns. I reached out, but no one bothered to follow up or reply. Guess their poor service is consistent and constant. Do not give business to this place.

Travis L.

Yelp
We stayed on the 10th floor in an ocean front view, beautiful view steps away from Waikiki beach. Great staff and had an amazing tiki bar downstairs. Only minor inconvenience is the elevators went down leaving only one elevator for all floors.

Paula F.

Yelp
Stayed here in August for my boyfriends birthday. Everything was perfect! The weather, beach front view, customer service - all the employees were friendly and helpful. I don't understand why people are complaining about the elevator in their review?? I LOVED IT. Basically you use your room key as an elevator fob to go up - select your room floor, then it tells you which elevator to get on (A,B,C,D, or E). Super simple, after you do it once you'll understand. I loved it because the elevator is just assigned to you, so no one else is on the same elevator as you!! Helps with not overcrowding, feels more comfortable and sanitary. Valet people were super nice! I called 15-20 minutes ahead every time and not once was I waiting. My very first night I had dinner at the restaurant downstairs (3rd floor) - SUPER convenient because I was so tired of traveling all day and didn't want to walk or drive anywhere. The very next day I wanted to eat my leftover steak so I called the front desk and asked if they had a microwave. I had the microwave delivered to my doorstep in less than 10 minutes This was my first time ever visiting Hawaii and this hotel made my whole experience very memorable. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends & family. Thank you twin fin staff for being very accommodating!!

Yelp
We stayed at the Twin Fin for a week and we thought it met our expectations. I'd read reviews on it before booking, so I knew to expect a cheaper vibe in the hallways and room. The hotel lobby and pool deck are super nice. Open air lobby, beautifully decorated, lots of sitting room and a convenience store. The pool deck is nice, it has lots of sitting areas, some covered some not, and some cabanas. There is also a restaurant on the pool deck called tikis for food and drinks while by the pool, a bit pricey. The views of sunset from the pool deck were absolutely stunning. I see others complaining about the elevator situation, but I didn't find it to be that irritating. It's basically a call your elevator system and then you get a private elevator to your floor. Worked for me! Our room was nice, simple, did the job. No frills, standard sink, standard tub, really soft bed and soft pillows, a fridge, no microwave (though I was told you could request one). Our view in our room was spectacular, we got a partial ocean view and I was pleasantly surprised by how much of the beach I could see. Just beautiful and a spacious lanai and large chairs as well. The best part of our stay was the breakfast on the 21st floor at the coconut club. The star of the show was Ian. We came to breakfast with our children and my son brought his stuffed charmander (pokemon), upon seeing this Ian sparked up a conversation with my son about Pokémon and they talked for a bit. It was so sweet. But that's not all, on our last day, Ian surprised my son with a big tin of Pokémon cards as a gift. Out of his own money. How sweet!! Almost made me cry. Great job coconut club, and Ian specifically!

Yelp
We only chose to stay at this hotel because we are joining a tour with Trafalgar on Sunday. I also will not be doing that again either. This hotel is a dump. Our first room the bathroom door wouldn't close so they changed our room. The road noise is awful. There is no bar soap in the rooms. It's a great place if you're 18 and in college and party drinking every day. There is NO lobby. The rooms are old and not very clean. There is mold on the A/C vents. The furniture in the rooms looks like it was built from Wal-Mart. Wouldn't let my dog stay here. The end. If it weren't for my husband I'd be on the next plane out of here.

Nicole A.

Yelp
So I wanted to leave a car parked in valet for 10min while I checked in and put belongings in the room. This guy had a problem with it. In what world does a hotel not let you leave your car to check in.... Claims he needs $8.

Joelle B.

Yelp
Absolutely not, and I don't even know where to begin. The whole entire stay I kept joking telling my friends how embarrassing it was to stay here and how it reminded me of a motel 6. If your coming to Hawaii to enjoy your stay then DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is like the cheap stay of the island and honestly not worth the savings. From the mold, to the horrible customer service, to their stinky filthy dingy rooms. Ours even had a big nasty stain on the carpet in there.. made u want to not take your shoes off or get to comfortable smh they say "non smoking" yet the room reeked of cigarette smell all over the place. The balcony's are skinny small , unsafe and filthy and this seems to be the motel 6 of the island and tourist spot for families and their loud children that you can hear through the paper thin walls. I will most definitely select better my next time visiting the island because this location for sure left a sour taste in my mouth. Only PRO is Wolfgang puck is downstairs with the fire pizza and that's the only reason I give them a 1 star. Enjoy the pics‍

Yelp
The Twin Fin hotel could have 5 stars if their housekeeping staffs hadn't stolen my AirPods from my hotel room. We stayed from 7/26/2023 to 7/29/2023. My AirPods's last location was at the Twin Fin on Friday early morning at 2am. I contacted their Lost and Found but there was only voicemail option and nobody has contacted me since then. The hotel's old name was Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. My family and I stayed on the 21st floor so the ocean view was nice. However, I booked 2 beds with ocean view but the room they gave me had only partial ocean view. We were tired and there was a long line at the front desk so I didn't bother asking them why I got the partial ocean view only. One of the girls at the front desk showed attitude when I asked her for more teas in the room after I stayed there for a few days. The Coconut Club breakfast were delicious and the panoramic view of the beach and Diamond Head at this cafe was breathtaking. Parking was $50 plus tax so it was around $57.36 after tax. There was a convenient store on the first floor next to the valet so you could get everything you need before heading out to Waikiki mall or the beach. Also ABC stores (similar to 7/11 in mainland) are right outside every hotel. The beach is right in front of the hotel so it's super convenient. The international market place and Waikiki center are about 10-15 mins walk (4-5 traffic lights) from the hotel. It's very scenic to stroll on the street to the mall. I'd prefer to walk to the mall to enjoy the oceanview and the stores along the street. There are a lot of one way streets and the mall charges parking fees so it's more convenient to walk to the mall from the hotel.

Yelp
First, it was affordable place to stay during Christmas, especially considering the other options. It is under new management used to be the Aston. There's a small pool almost always in shade with lots of kids but it's right across the street from beach, which is pretty cool. They have beach gear available chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards etc. There is a refrigerator in the room but no room service. A few restaurants surrounding the property are pretty decent. Check in was pretty bland - not rude but pretty dry, no hello, thank you, just point to QR, take picture of activities, courteous just above being unwelcome. The selling point was offering up charge for a beach view - don't do it - almost all rooms see the beach. You can hear kids running, crying, people talking from the next room or in my case coughing, hacking and swearing obscenities at 4:00 in the morning - along with a blaring the Sports station. Entered the room, bathroom floor full of water- dripping from ceiling condensation. The towels were damp too - from the condensation apparently, empty shower gel container. Also, found a dirty sock the condensation left behind lol I did talk to managers - all front desk personnel are managers - needed to speak with an assistant director - There's a $45 a day resort fee along with taxes and if you park a vehicle additional charge for that too. I don't mind paying for any of that but I would appreciate resort service. I have to add most of the staff were accommodating. Especially at the beach gear place.

Trecie M.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here. This hotel is right across from the water, stores, and restaurants. They have an amazing restaurant on the 3rd fl with great customer service. The pool is small and the bathroom in our room could use updating, but everything else was nice.

Elizabete Maria T.

Yelp
The place is nice for the price. Staff is very attentive and kind. I love the breakfast on the 21st floor definitely worth the money. Pool is nice. The candy sack downstairs is a nice added bonus. The hotel is locally centered very close to the beach. We had a few difficulties in the beginning but the employees resolved them very quickly.

Claudia J.

Yelp
Please do not stay at this hotel. We booked this hotel due to my fiancée having asthma and it was a smoke free hotel. On our first day, we got charged 400$ for setting off the alarm they have in the rooms while I was doing my hair and was falsely accused of smoking in the room. When asked to have issue resolved they gave us no help at all. Please stay somewhere else if you don't want to be robbed and be accused of something you have not done and then have the staff not help. Please DO NOT STAY here, save your money and go somewhere else where you can be treated as well and can enjoy your vacation.

Sarah W.

Yelp
Great location and amenities! The valet parking service was simple, fast, and convenient! The amenities like the pool and access to free beach equipment were great! You were allowed three free beach items per day per room. We got two beach chairs and a boogie board and had a blast at the beach. Pickup and drop off for these items was also very fast. Our room was exactly as expected and had a better ocean view than I thought it would be from the pictures when I booked. So I was pleasantly surprised with that! The room was clean and nice. It would have been nice to have a few more outlets near the bed, but there were at least more outlets elsewhere in the room and I understand that takes significant renovation to update. We had the hotel breakfast once, and although the staff there was great (as with every area of the hotel), I would skip that in the future. There were many other great breakfast options in easy walking distance that were better and less expensive. The attached restaurant, Tikis, also wasn't too bad. All in all, for the great valet parking, the wonderful views, and the free beach equipment, I would definitely book here again.

Lisa G.

Yelp
This hotel was formally Ashton Waikiki Beach. Located on Waikiki it offers a beautiful view of the beach. I read some of the other reviews under Ashton Waikiki but I have to say valet service was ideal. You are just a text or call away from getting your vehicle quickly. Parking is currently $48 per night. They do not have laundry services or facilities. It is an older building which they report was recently remodeled, but the rooms still have a popcorn ceilings and they aren't super modern, but the bed was comfortable and the stay was pleasant. I have stayed in other hotels on Waikiki many times but never here. It is within walking distance from many shops and restaurants. The beach is a super short walk, literally across the street. It's a decent hotel. It was a little disappointing when they tried to overcharge us for parking. It's a standard $48 per night rate, but somehow they wanted double the rate for the last 2 nights. After speaking with a manager, the problem was resolved but we should not have needed a manager. This hotel staff was rude and argumentative. I really do not appreciate how this hotel staff handled a simple issue...just tell the truth and don't try to overcharge your customers after paying hundreds of dollars per night for the room plus parking. The worst part is the rudeness of staff at checkout. We will NOT be back for this reason and in our opinion, there are way too many options in Honolulu.

John E.

Yelp
Place is great location. It's 20 minutes away from the airport. It's beachfront with 3 items to be rented daily included with the room fee. Have to get there to the beach shop early so everything doesn't get rented because you can't do it ahead of time and have to wait for the store to open. My wife and I would usually get 2 chairs and an umbrella. Return it daily and return the next day to rent it again if ya want There is snorkel gear to rent for a fee, surfing lessons, beach chairs, umbrellas, beach speakers, small gift items. There is a restaurant on site, Tiki's, which is a fun spot with good food and good drinks and nice outdoor vibe. It's a casual spot. It's at the end closest to Honolulu Zoo. It's not as busy as the middle of Waikiki beach which is nice as well. I gave it only 3 stars because the downside is the pool is small, the pool chairs outdated, the rooms are outdated and most of the facilities seem outdated. The elevators also take forever and also seem outdated. Showers are not great. Fitness room is small and outdated. Staff is super nice though. Overall great spot and cost effective for those not expecting to spend lots of time in the room and not looking to be in the Waikiki craziness. It's about 10-12 minute walk to the craziness if that's for you.

Amy P.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at Twin Fin. Staff was helpful and pool service excellent. The DJ was a bonus! Did the star gazing on Monday which was wonderful surprise. Thank You!!

Tanya K.

Yelp
This hotel is right on the beach. It is a nice place that is going through continuous upgrades. The staff were extremely helpful!

Avery F.

Yelp
Meh. I stay at the hotel for two nights. The room is awful and looks like they just trusted someone to put paint on and clean it up. It seemed rushed I checked in and the front desk agent had an attitude like she did not want to be there. I requested housekeeping for both days and NOTHING happened. I even took time be away from the room for nothing to get cleaned. In general the room was not cleaned, bathroom had hair left over, water and coffee stains. You can hear the wind howling from the glass door. You can hear the noise from the pool travel into the room. Elevators are really slow.

Kiran ..

Yelp
Awesome conservation based hotel, my spouse and I stayed here for 9 nights and really enjoyed our time. We used the fitness center almost daily, and loved our partial ocean view room. It had a microwave, mini fridge, and new k-cups daily for the coffee maker! The housekeeping was incredible. Definitely get a reservation for the breakfast restaurant, the Coconut Club, at the front desk - it is $55 per room, and so worth it!! Very comparable to other breakfast places in the area, and the panoramic ocean view from up high is unbeatable.

CMC C.

Yelp
Ok hotel with spectacular ocean views. Be aware there are roaches but I guess that's expected in tropical weather? The housekeeping services could use a bit more attention, we selected certain days for cleaning and it was missed. The rooms themselves are pretty dated. Popcorn ceilings and rusty vents. The balcony is nice for fresh air though. Rooms have fridge and coffee makers, no microwave. The supplied toiletries are a nice touch. Did wish the water pressure was better but it did it's job. The beds are comfy and we did get decent rest but noise from street can start early. I'm still on the fence if I would come back. Don't miss out on the ube Mai tai from tiki's, excellent.

Bella W.

Yelp
BED BUGS!!! First of all the moment we got to the room, we already knew it was going to be sketchy. The room was obviously still dirty but we needed somewhere to stay so we slept there. When checking in, multiple people were having problems with reservations which was odd. There was a hairball in the corner of our room and when I woke up from the first night, there were bed bug bites on my neck and wrist. I'm absolutely disgusted. The elevators were always maul functioning and were such a hassle. Granola was on the ground in our room and instead of vacuuming it up it was simply swept to the side of the door which was also gross and unsanitary. Overall did not enjoy the stay and it was dirty, the only good thing about this place is the location.

Iris M.

Yelp
The staff here is really friendly, clean and quiet hallways. Service is fast even thought the cleaning of the bathrooms could be better.
