Tytherleigh Arms

"This sympathetically refurbished 16C coaching inn is an endearing place, with a characterful timbered interior that features a large inglenook fireplace. The cooking is best described as wholesome and boldly flavoured, with a menu that blends more modern dishes with pubby favourites like sirloin steak or haddock & chips. Stylish bedrooms await in the old stables if you fancy staying the night." - Michelin Inspector

Yes yes yes yes. What a great place. From the first minute we walked through the door the staff were friendly and welcoming and always had a smile on their face. The food was amazing and the pictures dont do it justice. They brought out smoked cod in a paprika mayo on a sweetcorn muffin. The bread had a garlic and herbs with a basil butter. For starters it was the sculpts. Main course was the steak, which was cooked to perfection. My wife and I would highly recommend this place, and can't wait to go back.

Our taxi driver recommended us this place, we went for the tasting menu. It was tasty, exciting and fun to try all different flavours and dishes. Paul was excellent at walking us through each course and looking after us along with the other members of staff. They have a wide variety of drinks.

My Mum and I went for lunch here and it was outstanding , from the friendly but attentive service to the most delicious food. Such a treat to find and have locally . It has warm but contemporary and inviting atmosphere , more bistro pub as stated, but done with such panache and understated style . I am so looking forward to returning .

Recently had a 3 night stay here. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a small courtyard outside which is the perfect place to unwind. The staff were amazing and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and had a choice of beautiful dishes. We will definitely return next time we are in the area. Thank you Mark and team for making us feel welcome. Linda

A clearly very well run establishment with polite attentive staff. Worth staying in the clean and pleasant rooms adjacent to the pub so you can enjoy the drinks menu. Food is excellent and if you stay this continues for breakfast.

The 'rents live around the corner, so we come here whenever we're in town. The service is wonderful - the staff are ruled by Paul with a velvet glove and nothing is too much bother, but in a relaxed, friendly way. We ate early and so were the first to arrive, but we were not alone for long. Despite this there was no sense of urgency, and the gorgeous food arrived in short time, exactly as ordered. I can recommend the sirloin, which I had blue. I don't think it taxed the chef much, unlike the Roscoff onion & chimichurri, vine tomatoes, parmesan & truffle oil chips and a peppercorn sauce, which was a work of art. I'm not saying he didn't make an effort but waving it at the pan as he walked past left plenty of time for that wonderful pepper sauce. We've only ever had good times and excellent food here, and I would only say book ahead, and if having the fillet of haddock then only have a light breakfast and nothing for the rest of the day. Don't tell anyone else, otherwise the world and his significant other will rock up, and that would only spoil it.

Fine dining experience in a lovely country pub. Unusual menu with really great taste combinations. Excellent service and good value for money.

Just excellent! We’d booked ahead and said my son had a dairy allergy on the booking form, didn’t expect much of this comment. But on arrival they presented us with a special dairy free menu, not vegan, but dairy free with modified dishes from the main menu! Honestly this attention to detail is exceptional, made us feel really welcome. My son had the DF scallops which he’d never had the chance to try before and loved them. I would have been impressed just by this alone, but then the food, just wow! Really excellent, we all loved it, the best I’ve had in a long time. Service was also friendly, attentive and just what we needed. All round just so good! Thank you!

Yelp
Really good food at the Tytherliegh - not the cheapest but certainly worth the extra. Staff always extremely pleasant. Very hard to fault in any respect.
