STARTED THE NEW YEAR OFF RIGHT!!!
Wow, wow, and wow is all I can say about this establishment! Each experience is more than just a five star experience whenever I visit.
My husband, my daughter, and I wanted to start the new year off with some delicious breakfast on New Year's Day. Originally, we chose to dine at Firstwatch, because we knew they were open for business. However, my husband suggested Union Kitchen which is perfect for starting the New Year Off in style! Because honestly, First Watch is no match for Union Kitchen when it comes to A1 quality cuisine and star quality service! But, we were willing to visit any restaurant that was open for business. Although we parked near First Watch, as we were exiting our vehicle, I could see Union Kitchen across the way with the "Open" sign SHINING BRIGHT like a diamond! I excitedly exclaimed to my husband and daughter, "Union Kitchen is open!" As a result, all three of us hurriedly sprinted off towards Union Kitchen leaving our truck parked near First Watch, lol.
Upon entering the building, I was greeted by the hostess, a beautiful young lady who came running towards me, hugging me, and saying , "Happy New Year Ms. D!" To my surprise when I looked up to see who was greeting me by my last name, it turned out to be one of my senior students who's currently in my English IV class. I returned the hug and we were both ecstatic to see each other. To put the icing on the cake, not only was she the hostess, but she also ended up being our server. I couldn't have been happier! Her name is Emily and she is one of the most beautiful, intelligent, mature, and smart students that I have had the pleasure to work with in class. Emily informed us that she has recently become a server now that she is of age and that we would have to let her know how well she did. My husband, daughter, and I all agreed that Emily did an awesome job for her first time as a server. She was knowledgeable about the menu items and made some great suggestions for appetizers because we were stuck in limbo trying to decide what to order. I swear we wanted to order the entire menu because we were so hungry, lol. We started our breakfast off with orange juice and pineapple juice mimosas with a bottle of Wycliff Brut American Champagne. They were pretty solid. I tried not to down my Mimosa too fast, but it was hard not to because it was delicious!
As for the food, we ordered the biscuits and gravy accompanied with the Million Dollar Deviled Eggs as our appetizers. Both were amazingly delicious, especially the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were a buttery golden brown bread with a butter enriched crunchy exterior and a warm and soft interior which seemed to melt in my mouth. Ohhh and the gravy!!! That sausage gravy was so delicious and full of delectable flavor with bits of chopped green onions and chunks of succulentl sausage marinating and floating around! I did not expect to taste the flavors of "grandma's" homemade buttery biscuits and gravy with a twist at Union Kitchen, so this was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this appetizer for anyone who enjoys great tasting biscuits and gravy.
Furthermore, for our entrees, I ordered the S.O.S (Shrimp on a Shingle) brunch, which consisted of Thai flavored rice, toast, fried egg, and shrimp, topped with a lightweight brown gravy. It was very appetizing and light on my stomach. I enjoyed it thoroughly. My husband and daughter both had scrambled eggs, crispy fried pork bacon, diced potatoes, and buttermilk pancake stacks. They were in HIGH HEAVEN as they went in head first on their NEW YEAR BREAKFAST! The entire time as we were enjoying our food, I was thinking to myself, "Now this is how you start the New Year off right!" We toasted the New Year with our tasty Mimosas that were prepared by our server Emily. All was well and we were full and satisfied.
In conclusion, Union Kitchen is an elegant and fancy establishment with great customer service and tantalizing mouth-watering cuisine. The ambiance is extremely pleasant with light noise and dim lighting. They are an ideal restaurant for a gathering of friends and family, business meetings, a couple's date night, or just flying solo. Furthermore, they are located in Towne Lake on the boardwalk near a tranquil and pristine lake with minimal boat traffic, which is perfect for taking a nice stroll after getting fat-full! So, not only will you have a succulent and flavorsome meal at Union Kitchen, but you will also have beautiful scenery to take in as you walk along the lake after your meal and try to count all the turtles that are swimming and playing around in the water. I highly recommend this hidden enchanting eatery. You will not be disappointed.
