The Union Tavern Review - Little Venice - London - The Infatuation
"Are human beings closely related to sea lions? We don’t know, but given how deliriously happy we are sat semi-horizontally on the water in Little Venice, we’re going to say yes. This pub a little further along the Grand Union Canal doesn’t have the kind of food that’ll make you transcend space and time, but they do have one of the best canal-side terraces in London. Head here with a group of mates, order the scotch egg, and see how many pints you can sink in the sunshine before resembling an actual sea lion.

Had a lovely drink with friends here today to cool off in the hot weather. The pub is beautiful and the terrace by the canal is a really gorgeous spot.
The staff were busy and probably could have used another pair of hands but were still really kind and friendly - Ellis in particular.
The food was disappointing im afraid We ordered the chicken tenders to share (burnt and dry sadly) and the nachos (not real cheese/queso was an American style sauce - not melted). Also found the ceaser salad dressing a bit strong but if you like anchovies you’d probably love it.
Its been busy both times I’ve come so if theres good weather, id book a table. We’ll definitely be back for drinks and maybe to try the prawn tacos - looked amazing on the next table.

Lovely pub across the river. I discovered this while biking in the area. I went there with friends and it was actually super nice. You can have the view on the river while it’s heating outside. It’s the perfect place for a date or a group of friends. I will come back !!

Just out for an autumn walk at the Canal when I found this pub. So quick stop for a drink or two. Really nice, attentive & friendly staff giving great service. This pub offering cask n keg with some on fridge. They r offering food as well. Lovely bar n clean flood. I must say they have really clean toilets. Atmosphere is so cool. They didn’t disappoint me even worth to visit. Just few steps from the underground so easy accessible. Love the location at the edge of canal for great view. They have plenty of space out there to canal side for beautiful views. Recommend

Had a Sunday roast here and was blown away. Perfectly cooked sirloin, with crispy potatoes and enough gravy to drown a midget.
Will come back

The hallmark of the Union Tavern has to be its location on the Grand Union canal. Should be a good spot in Summer. They also have ‘visiting’ beers. I managed to get a tasty wheat beer. Otherwise good pub grub.

An absolute gem of a pub we found after going to Portobello Market, really friendly staff, good food and great choice of drinks. Will definitely be retuning!

The fish and chips with mushy peas were great! Of note is that this is not a family friendly pub (and we had our kiddo with us) - couldn’t sit on their patio because it was too smokey/raucous. That’s fine, just not our vibe with a young kid. The service was mixed - some very friendly, some a bit cranky.
