I’ve been to The Upper Room several times now, and it keeps getting better with each visit. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is elevated yet welcoming — it’s the perfect blend of creativity, class, and comfort. The truffle popcorn alone is worth the trip — rich, savory, and absolutely addictive. And the concept of pairing classes with drinks is genius. It’s such a fun, engaging way to unwind, learn something new, and meet great people in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re coming with friends, a date, or even solo, The Upper Room delivers an experience that’s both sophisticated and effortlessly enjoyable. Highly recommend!

@upperroomatl had the second act duties for our Foodie Friday and the mixology class with @greenwoodwhiskey did not disappoint in the least bit. The mixologist teaching the class were fun, engaging, charismatic, and helpful. We learned how to make Old Fashoned, whiskey sour, and Green Tea shot. We also learned bar etiquette, how to spot a good bar tender, and some common spirit knowledge. I would recommend this experience to anyone. #mixology #mixologyclass #fridaynights #drinkchamps #drinks #whiskey #whiskeygram #blackownedspirits #blackownedbusiness #blackownedatl #blackbusiness #whattodoinatlanta #shots #sophisticatedliving #atlantablogger #atlantaliving #poncecitymarket #greenwoodwhiskey #bartender #selfcare #foodiefinds #atl

I ordered the Salted Maple Latte. It tasted good, and the staff here are nice. However, other parts of the service leave a lot to be desired. It took 17 minutes for my drink to be served at around 3:30pm on a Friday. Also, the portion sizes here are small. Honestly, I expected faster service and a larger drink size after paying $7.80 for a latte. This brings me to another point - the service fee. The Salted Maple Latte is priced at $6.50, but there was a 20% service fee tacked onto my bill, bringing it up to $7.80. This service fee is not posted anywhere conspicuous, and it feels pretty deceptive.

The Upper Room has events that shows you how to create cocktails with black owned spirits. The atmosphere and vibe is comfortable and classy. It’s a great date spot before a show or concert. If you haven’t been yet you’re missing out!

I recently checked out The Upper Room ATL at Ponce City Market, and honestly, I loved the vibe. It feels like a cozy living room tucked above the buzz of Ponce. Good lighting, comfortable seating, and really great energy.

Came here to do a mixology class. Our class was led by Toki(forgive me for misspelling your name) She was great and you could tell she knew her craft. We will definitely come back again.

Waited 15 minutes for espresso that tasted burnt and a chai latte without milk. There wasn't even a long line, there was one order ahead of me...

We did a team building event here. Opted for their mixology class and our team had a blast! Thank you again to the team for making sure the energy was fun and everyone was engaged. Also, the cocktails were delicious!

Yelp
Great service! Great ambiance. I also really liked the fact that they were in the epicenter of a bunch of other vendors around so you can kind of explore while you get a drink! They're a black owned bar, that has around 80% of black owned top shelf liquor. I tried the upper room drink. I'd say it honestly tastes like a lemon drop with a hint of lavender and a little less sour. Would recommend! Considering everything is higher shelf the prices aren't bad at all. I've had mid shelf stuff for this same price in BHM so I'm definitely not complaining.

Yelp
While shopping around, I wanted to get a drink and settle into the weekend even more. They had about 5 cocktails to pick from but the bartender said she could modify however I pleased. I resorted to the cocktail with gin which was ready in under 10 minutes. After taxes and fees the drink came out to almost $20 so although it was prepared well, the small quantity did not justify the price. The bartender was great and so was the bar being in the center of so many other vendors. Not sure if I'd go out of my way to come again.
