How To Eat & Drink Your Way Through Overtown - Miami - The Infatuation

"Overtown is especially alive on weekends, when events are happening in almost every corner of the neighborhood. Many of the best parties take place at The Urban, an outdoor venue where you may come across some of Miami’s A-list hip-hop celebs like Rick Ross, Trina, and The City Girls, to name just a few. The multifaceted Keon Williams manages this musically-driven outdoor bar. Right now, they’re currently closed for renovations, but keep an eye on The Urban’s Instagram to stay up to date on the latest happenings." - jamila west

I went to The Urban Miami for Sunday brunch and had an amazing time! The vibes were on point—chill music, a great crowd, and an overall welcoming atmosphere. The service was quick and super friendly, Our bottle girl Anya always made sure we were taken care of which made the experience even better. As for the food, it was delicious! I’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend for a fun and tasty brunch spot in the city!

I’ve been to The Urban a few times now, and every time I go, it’s a whole vibe! The Rise & Toast event is definitely one of my favorites pure Caribbean energy, good music, and the vibes are always right. The venue itself is spacious and well-designed, with a nice outdoor space, so it never feels overcrowded. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and I’ve never had an issue with service. I love how they bring in a mix of DJs and entertainers, so every event feels fresh. If you’re looking for a fun, safe, and vibrant place to enjoy Caribbean culture, The Urban is definitely worth checking out. Believe the hype and go see for yourself.

Cool vibe. We got rained out when we went but you can see that it’s a nice venue when the weather is right. The food truck-Dynamic Cuisine was on point with EVERYTHANG!

5 Stars – The Ultimate Vibe in Miami! The Urban Miami really understood the assignment! I pulled up for the Rise and Toast Brunch Party and the energy was off the charts. Even though it was Memorial Day Weekend and packed out, the service was smooth and on point. All the bottles came out right on time — no long waits, just straight vibes! Wawa the bartender had us lit all brunch — her drinks were strong, flavorful, and kept the whole table hype. As the day rolled into night, Kaia and Stacey took over behind the bar and didn’t miss a beat. Their cocktails were fire and they brought the same great energy and hospitality. And let’s talk about the bottle girls — they looked amazing ! Super professional, fun, and brought all the extra energy to every bottle presentation. The whole experience from start to finish felt organized, elevated, and full of good vibes. If you're in Miami and looking for the perfect mix of brunch, nightlife, and beautiful people The Urban is it. Already ready for the next one!

I went to Rise & Toast yesterday for the unlimited mimosas. The venue was very beautiful and spacious. The bartender (Wawa) was very friendly, efficient, and provided excellent service to my friends and I. Every time we got close to empty on our drinks, she came back and refilled us with out us asking. We definitely enjoyed our experience and will be back soon.

Me and my friends went yesterday for brunch… the out door venue was very vice. The music was definitely a vibe. We also enjoyed the unlimited mimosa’s at the bar. The bartender made sure to refill our champagne flutes without us asking. I definitely recommend!!!!!!

My friends and I decided to come The Urban for a fun Sunday day. When we walked in, we paid our cover fee and walked into the court yard area. The layout of the event space is a middle part with lounge chairs with a covered top, cabanas, a food truck area with seating, and other areas where you can stand. I suggest for a more comfortable experience to reserve an area or a cabana, because it is an open space, and the non reserved areas our not within the covered areas; especially with summer time coming it can get very warm outside. Plus you will have to stand for the majority of the time unless if you sit by the food truck area. The DJ was playing amazing music and had the crowd moving. The food truck there that day had great service and good food. The jerk chicken was cooked to perfection with a good amount of sauce. I wish I had ordered more lol. Overall, I will definitely come back to The Urban, and to make sure to have a reservation for a lounge area.

The Urban is that spot. Black-owned and made for us, it’s the perfect vibe for Caribbean brunch and R&B nights. The food always hits, the music is on point, and the energy feels like family. They really care about the community too—supporting local businesses and creating a space where we can just be ourselves. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out!!! 💖

Yelp
This is a beautiful location and I had a blast. I attended the Sunday's Mother's Day party and the djs were really AMAZING. The ambiance was pretty, with fresh green grass, cute furniture to sit around and vibe! It's a huge location with plenty of space. They have huge fans there so people can try to cool off. It was HOT on Sunday. The djs played a lot of island music which I loved!! They mixed very well. I would return because the djs had me dancing all night. They didn't disappoint. There was a food truck there and the food was good and pricey. They had a lot options of food choices too. The staff was friendly and respectful. My friends and I ordered wings, jerk chicken, etc. The food was fresh and tasty. They had one bar and a lot of bartenders. The drinks were pricey so if you a drinker bring your funds because the cheapest drink was $17. The cup size was SMALLl so I wasn't happy about that at all. Since it's an outside venue I was expecting them to have frozen drinks but they didn't which was disappointing. I highly recommend they get some blenders and make frozen drinks especially summer is almost here and it's HOT outside even at night time. Overall, I would go back! I had an amazing time

Yelp
I've been to The Urban for the Caribbean day party called Rise and Toast on Sundays, and it's always a vibe! The music is on point, and the atmosphere is fun, vibrant, and full of good energy. The venue itself is super cute with plenty of IG worthy spots for pics. There's both street parking and nearby parking lots. The one right across the street can run you $20-$40, depending on if a special guest is performing. The last time I went, Jamaican artist Capleton was there and we had a time! My only complaint would be the food truck. It takes forever to get your food. They do serve brunch earlier in the day (until 4 PM), which I imagine is a quicker experience since there are fewer people then. The party runs from 12-9 PM, and it definitely turns up after brunch ends. Ladies can free tickets on Eventbrite if you reserve them early. After that, tickets start at $20. No hassle to get in, just make sure you have the QR code open on your phone. I'd definitely go back because good vibes are always guaranteed.

Yelp
I came and got a section on Sunday. Service was amazing!! Waitresses were super attentive. Food & Vibes were great. Definitely a 10/10.

Yelp
I really appreciate the layout of this venue. The events hosted here are typically well-organized, with Sundays being particularly enjoyable as they feature Caribbean music.

Yelp
***Complaint Regarding Unadvertised Dress Code Policy *** To my knowledge the responsibility for the decision lies with the promoters themselves for this event (Doowop), not the actual event space (The Urban) I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with an experience I had at your establishment on 8/31/2024. Upon arriving at The Urban, Doowop, R&B event, my group and I were denied entry because we were not dressed in all white. This was surprising to us, as there was no mention of a mandatory all-white party in any of your advertising or on your website, tickets, or any social media outlets. As customers, we make an effort to comply with the dress codes and rules set by establishments, but it is unreasonable to enforce a policy that was never communicated to us. This lack of transparency caused unnecessary inconvenience and disappointment for our group, and many others, as we had made plans to spend our evening at your event. I kindly request that you review this matter and consider clearly communicating any dress code requirements in the future. This will help avoid such misunderstandings and ensure a more pleasant experience for your patrons.

Yelp
After an already event filled weekend in Miami Beach, found myself here after a quick stroll from another eatery in Overtown. As soon as I entered, I was blown away from this awesome entertainment venue. Plenty of space, an array of couch locations for those that want to lounge. The displays featured throughout this venue were amazing to look at, providing a visual experience, on top of the audio experience provided by the top notch sound system. All the bartenders I interacted with were charming, welcoming & friendly. I went on a Sunday nite & I would definitely want to return to see what mood they offer on different nights. This venue is a nice spot, check it out while in the Miami Beach/Overtown area. #MallyMallApproved

Yelp
The Urban exudes the quintessential Miami vibe with its stunning ambiance and setup. It's an ideal venue for hosting events, offering a charming atmosphere that captivates guests from the moment they step inside. While street parking is available, my experience left me feeling a bit uneasy about safety. Nonetheless, the venue's allure overshadowed this concern. The catered food, though I'm unsure if it was included in the package, was simply delicious, adding to the overall enjoyment of the event. If you're seeking a venue that embodies the essence of Miami, look no further than The Urban.

Yelp
Today we had HITT with Coach Von from top shelf fit. The experience was fun and challenging. Definitely worth experiencing it for yourself. Parking is available within the venue and they even had vendors and free massages for post workout. I couldn't stay for the yoga session because I was exhausted best of all it's FREE! You can find their info on Eventbrite

Yelp
Great location in the heart of Overtown but horrible bar tenders! Attitudes out the ass. Completely disappointed, especially when trying to support black owned business during black history month. Slightly saddened by the rudeness. I understand it's busier than usual, but if the servers at Chick Fil A can make it their pleasure to sever everyday, so can the bartenders. Just saying ‍

Yelp
No respect for Overtown and the residents that live nearby, especially the elderly or people with children. It's not an indoor club so there's NO barrier between the blasting music at night and the ears of someone trying to get sleep before a shift.

Yelp
I went here during 4th of July weekend to the event called Rise & Toast on a Sunday. This place is so beautiful and chic. They serve Caribbean style food, so you know I had to have me a pattie or two ( they have I think beef and fish patties) . Drinks were pretty good. The only thing I would suggest to the staff is to either put a lid on the waste baskets, get torches to repel the flies, or put them somewhere else cause the mess up the whole vibe of the visit.

A J.

Yelp
The four stars are based on the good music and scenery of the place. It's really nice with games and things. It was pretty empty on a Friday night. This was disappointing because based on their instagram posts it looks pretty packed on Fridays. I could have a good time with or without a crowd but they hyped it up on instagram. We tried a drink to get started but they were too pricey to be so watered down. We ended up leaving.

Yelp
great venue space in the heart of Overtown. hours are still limited there but when they are not hosting an event.. on certain weekends the feature their own programming from holiday parties, happy hours, watch parties, craft/artisan markets, and holiday events, and more. they also always have a food truck on site.. so that's always an option.

Ghina J. K.

Yelp
Veryyyyy loudddddd some people need to relax on the weekend. They should stop them. There is babies that need to sleep. It's horrible i get headaches each weekends.

Yelp
Ok this place is so much fun!!! Food trucks, art, good music, small business booths, and good vibes! There are tables for rent but we just hung by the bar and had an amazing time! Free general entry and we were able to find street parking. Highly recommend.
