Great neighborhood barbershop with a chill vibe and consistently solid haircuts, and Purple always does an excellent job.

Literally walking distance from my house. You gotta book a week out or so. I’ve never had a bad experience while getting my haircut. But I have had two barbers cancel on me the day of when I waited more than a week to get it cut. They charge you if you don’t cancel 12 hours in advance so I feel the same should be applied if they also cancel an hour or so before your cut.

Amazing place. Great vibes and Jordan is an excellent barber, first time cutting with him but surely not the last. I was in town from DC and was recommended his services and they were not wrong. AAA+++

Got my haircut here twice. I’m a guy with curly hair and the person I saw clearly wasn’t as familiar with curly hair based on how he cut it. Also, for the price, I was surprised with the lack of attention to detail. Cut was generally fine, 3 out of 5.

You cannot find a better spot to get a haircut. All the staff are consummate professionals, clean cuts and satisfaction every single time. Can't recommend Meghan enough, she is particularly focused on doing exactly what you ask and hopes to follow up to see how your hair grows so she can cut it better next time. Never had such dedication and it is VERY appreciated. Recommend them with zero reservations!

First time in. Came with some medium length curly hair and Purple cut it up great. He made sure I left with it how I wanted and was all around a nice person. Very happy, will be back!

No one was at the shop when I showed up at 3pm on a Monday for my 3pm appointment. Doors locked and business is closed without warning and no notice of needing to cancel.

I cannot say enough good things about this shop. I am wildly picky with my haircuts and The Usual gives me the cleanest cuts I have ever had (more specifically, Shane). The ownership is great and remembers you and your cut after one visit. They are also well priced and affordable. Excellent cuts, people, and price... what more do you want from a barber?!

This was my first time taking my 2 year old to the barber. He had a meltdown on the drive over so I had no idea how this was gonna go. We made an appointment with Adam online. I get there and he is ready for us. He puts a skateboard over the arms of the chair and treats my son like every other customer in the shop. My son received an excellent hair cut. The shop is busy. It's clear people love coming for their cuts. Everyone was kind and professional!

Master of his craft! I just moved to Denver a few wks ago and was faced with the daunting reality of having to find a new barber. It wasn't long before I found Kirk and had a great experience! He's passionate about his craft and makes each cut an experience. And that neck shave with a feather touch - AMAZING!

These guys took wonderful care of me when my scheduled barber had to call out. The apprentice, David, handled my beard trim with care and expertise - very satisfied. He and Purp then hooked me up by offering the trim on the house/ free of charge. I recommend this shop and will definitely consider The Usual for future grooming needs.

I got Myron on my first visit and am really impressed with the work he does. Great central location and looking around at the packed shop it looks like the other barbers are phenomenal as well. I highly recommend Myron, you can tell he loves what he does and is a true craftsman.

Alright, after 2 years of frequenting this establishment, I suppose I owe someone a review. Specifically, Meagan! Meagan is outstanding and I won't take my beautiful head of hair anywhere else in Denver. I go in at least once a month (about every 3 weeks or so) and she has always been on time, consistent, and fun to work with. Getting out of the house during Covid-19 can be an ordeal but I do always look forward to visiting Meagan and getting my hair did. A little more about my head, I'm Vietnamese-American and have straight straight straight and defiant hair. Meagan knows how to tame the rascals up there which is actually not that easy to do as I've had many terrible haircuts and dealt with oh so many cowlicks. Thanks again, Meagan, for always being professional, efficient, and thoughtful. You're a true barber!

Came in to see Adam today for the first time. He did a great job. Since I just moved to Denver it's always a challenge to find a new barber in an unfamiliar city. I will be coming back for sure. He was meticulous and made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend The Usual Barbershop.

Trying to decide on a place to get a haircut and beard trim and found the Usual! Pretty simple and easy website outlining all their services and an easy booking process. I had the haircut and beard trim with Luke who was great and professional! The cut and trim was just what I wanted and will be back. The shop looks great with modern touches and the traditional barbershop features.

Had an appointment this afternoon but was told today I no longer had that appointment. When I asked if they could accommodate on account of it being their mistake I was informed the other barber was an independent contractor and was told, in short, to hang up because he had customers to attend to. I have been going here for months. I would not recommend this place to any new or existing customers. They clearly do not care about providing any semblance of a quality service.

Moved to Denver a month before my wedding and needed to find a new barber to cut my hair before the big day. Spent a long time looking at different barbershops in Denver, and after reading the reviews of The Usual Barbershop, decided to come here. Scheduling an appointment on their website was super easy and convenient. I was honestly a little nervous about going to a new barber right before my wedding, but Shane did a fantastic job. Not only is he a great barber, he's an extremely nice guy. He took his time and gave me a killer haircut and beard trim. My partner loved it and our wedding went off without a hitch. I highly recommend checking Shane out.

Got a recommendation from a coworker and I decided to schedule an afternoon appointment. The environment and decor takes you back to that classic barbershop feel all while 90's hip-hop is bumping in the background. I showed up a bit early and decided to hang out. During my wait, my time in the chair and my clean-up, they had clients in and out in precision timing. Some places rush, but they got their act together. All these guys that came through all walked out with fresh line-ups and clean shaves. I was extremely impressed with their work. Moderate price for the amazing cuts. Great personalities. Chill environment. RiNo district. Appts recommended. Great hair cuts in fast timing.

Been living in Denver for about 6 years now, and have tried my fair share of barbershops. Never really found the right fit. They were either way too bougie, or had to aggressively let me know how cool and trendy they are. I can honestly say, I've found my last barbershop at The Usual. Love the vibe in there. They could have some chill music playing on the record player, or could be going strong with some Biggie. A definite family feel when you walk in. Greeted right away. Everybody just hanging out, and talking like old friends catching up. Each haircut I've gotten has been on point, and I've seen a lot of nice work walking out of there. The crew at The Usual is doing it right. I'd throw in a 6th star if I could! Keep it up.

Bridget's the bomb! I found The Usual via the Denver Flea when I started quizzing the guy there. The Flea had just started, so they were still getting the finishing touches up and missing a barber. Then Bridget appeared. She's formerly from Proper where she was definitely the most helpful barber there, educating me so I can repeat the same haircut when I returned. Needless to say, I've moved my business down here. It's certainly more convenient and I'd prefer bringing my business here. It's a cool spot situated right next to OMF. I look forward to returning.

Let me start out this review with a firm disclaimer: I'm stoned. Yes, I puffed the Devil's Lettuce. But I was compelled to, if for the first time in my life, Yelp something. You might say I couldn't... Yelp... myself *hard snigger* But, I digress. This place is jam packed with hotties. I was the ugliest one in there by far and I'm maybe a hard 7-8 depending on the lighting. I was definitely pushing firm 8 potential before the cut, but after, it was no question. 8.2 at the BARE minimum. That kinda jump is a big deal when you're so close to the top. I mean, I'd have to work out a ton to get to 9 territory and that just isn't gonna happen. Ali was ready from the jump. Even when I hit her with the curveball "I'd like it clean on the sides with some texture up top" she wasn't phased. Normally people comment on my originality but not Ali, she's a pro. She was cutting before I could even start playfully flirting (you know, with that like half second longer eye-contact that if you fuck up you look like a total creeper), her hands flew all around me. I froze with fear and amazement. After a few seconds I decided to start shaking my head really fast to make it harder on her. "Faster!" I dared, and she rose to the challenge, her hands moving impossibly fast just fractions of an inch from my head. Her brow beaded up with sweat as she concentrated, the tiniest misstep could mean disaster. The end was in sight. My hair was almost perfect. She froze. It was done. We looked at each other through the mirror for just a half second too long and it got kinda weird and we both made that half-sniff-half-laugh sound and then just nodded our heads affirmingly. Suddenly it dawned on me: our encounter was ending. She motioned to the cash register that was actually an iPad and I tried to make a joke but the sadness was too strong. Too opaque. I felt the first tear push its way out and roll my down my cheek. Possibly the most magnificent moment in my young adult life had passed, and now I had to go on with my mundane existence. So I did the only thing that I could remember to do and thanked her, gave her a big tip, and waved goodbye. There are moments in life that we remember, and there are moments in life that define us. We'll see what this one ends up being.... dp

Bridget does the best haircuts, and I'd follow her anywhere. She was at Proper and now she has her own shop in Larimer. Great vibe with a fun crew. Definitely gotta check this place out.

Been going to this place for the last few haIrcuts. Reasonably priced unlike a lot of the barbers near downtown. I always ask for Brandon " Purple" he does a great job and always has me looking my best.

This place is amazing. Just had my first Denver haircut by Ali and I'm definitely going back for more. Great vibe, cool people and amazing music (Tone Loc channel, I believe). Already booked my next appointment, you should do the the same.

Just moved to Denver and I figured I'd check out the neighborhood barber shop. Niki has now cut my hair twice and I am very happy with her skills and friendliness. I will continue to go here as long as she is there and as long as I am in Denver!

Jeremy did an excellent job of taking "the usual" haircut I get and making it look more sleek. Definitely a highly professional job at a reasonable price. I also love being able to schedule an appointment online (even the day-of). Afterwards, I had that euphoric just-cut-and-clean feeling that made me want to take a nap. Definitely a positive experience for me.

Kirk LeValley is the man! Great shop, good vibes and barbers who take their job seriously. Even after moving to Longmont I still take the time to drive down here for my haircuts. Highly recommended.

Been coming here for over a year I think. Not really sure, time flies ya know. On my first random visit it paired me up with Shane and he's been taking care of me ever since. This is a great place to get a haircut. Friendly atmosphere and close to home. Good coffee a couple doors down if you get there early. Shane kills it though. Dude keeps me looking like a legitimate human being. Thanks Shane and thanks to this shop for opening up.

I've been to my fair share of barbershops, all the way from California to Greece, and I have to say that Ryan at The Usual is a master of his trade. Not only does he understand what a client wants, he makes sure it's what they get. I've never been disappointed with his work and will continue to recommend him to anyone looking for a haircut, beard service, or shave. As for the shop, there's a good vibe in the shop with the chill music playing and the overall relaxing atmosphere.

Like always Brandon "Purple" was awesome and did a great job on my hair style! This guy knows his stuff! I will always recommend this guy but then if i do I ll be concerned about getting an appointment because he always seems to be booked!! Get him if you can!! Great job Purple!!

The real deal, this barbershop is by far THE best in Denver. If you can get an appointment with Ali, you are about to take your grooming game to a whole new level. Environment is incredibly comfortable, conversation always a delight. Good tunes, good people, awesome beer next door, listen don't look any further, this is THE place.

Had an appointment scheduled 630 pm. Was never told they canceled it on me in advance. No message, no phone call, no email, nothing. So I waste my time going down there for no reason. No one offered to fit me in For how expensive this place is to get a haircut you would expect better customer service.

Amazing! I was in Denver last weekend and badly needed a haircut. I did some research and went to one of the highly rated higher end barber shops. Unfortunately I paid a fair amount of money for a subpar haircut. Later in the day I happened to be next door at Our Mutual Friend brewery (great beer btw!) and decided to stop into The Usual to see if they could do something quick to fix me up. The lady clearly knew what she was doing and did a great job! I wish I came here the first time! Great service and great quality! I have been to many different barbers (most of them higher end) and The Usual is among the best! I will definitely stop back the next time that I'm in Denver.

Before today I had never been to The Usual but earlier in the week I decided to try it after a co-worker recommended it a made an appointment. Bridget did a great job and was super friendly. I'd previously bounced around barbershops looking for a place that was the right fit until Bridget opened up The Usual. I've been going here since the beginning and have no reason to go anywhere else!

I've tried a few places in the Denver area now, and this is by far the best. Shout out to Brandon, check him out. I've also had my hair cut by a couple other people too, all did really well. Make an appointment and get a clean haircut. They pay attention to detail and do it right.

Really nice staff, comfortable environment, and affordable! I had my first visit to The Usual earlier this year with Niki and she has cut my hair for my following visits. Niki is a great listener and very good at asking the right questions to figure out what you want. Even though my appointments are generally several months apart, Niki delivers the same great service to me and remembers points of our conversation. I am very happy with the haircuts she has given me and the great customer service.

I have to say, I was skeptical - I've always been the "dude, it's a haircut, just go to Fantastic SAMs." So, I was wrong. This place is awesome, if maybe cooler than me. I really appreciated the attention to detail: I didn't get that turnandchurn feeling like from other places. I'll be back, you should too.
