Google
Today, I visited The Valley Inn in Timonium, Maryland. I really enjoyed this old-time restaurant and lounge. Service here was excellent. I really enjoyed the Crab Cake Platter and Cream of Crab Soup. This place does require reservations. Unless you are lucky enough to find a place in the bar and lounge area

We had the best dinner here last week. The restaurant itself is very cute, with a jockey theme going in the room we were seated in. We had reservations but it seems like you can walk in and just do bar seating with no reservation, which we would probably do on our next visit. We love the bar! We ordered the tuna tartare for our appetizer and my one regret is that we didnt order one each! It was SO DELICIOUS. Perfectly seasoned, the tuna was melting in your mouth (in the best way!) and there was the perfect amount of heat. My fiance and i joked that we should have our wedding party here just to be able to eat this for an entire day! lol For dinner I had the Caesar with Shrimp and it was really good and my fiance had the turkey burger which he said was good!! The Key Lime Pie was another thing I wish I had got my own serving of!!!! So good!!! We will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!

Google
This was our first time there. We stop spontaneously for lunch. From the hostess to the waitress, excellent staff experience! Food was excellent! We had fried green tomatoes - fresh taste, savory! My husband had the turkey club and I had the trlurkey burger. Large portions. I would definitely recommend this place.

Google
Was happy to find this place. Building and decor ma kes it feel like a New England restaurant. Loved the mussels and steak skewer and service was prompt. Have live music often too. Will definitely be going back! When to outdoor pavilion and was disappointed. Service was virtually non existent. Took us longer to get our drinks than our food

Google
The food was absolutely outstanding, with every dish bursting with flavor and creativity. The atmosphere of the place was vibrant and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a memorable evening. We enjoyed a fantastic selection of drinks, each crafted with care, and the desserts were nothing short of divine, offering a sweet and satisfying conclusion to our meal. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, we were pleasantly surprised that there was no waiting time, and we were seated immediately. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience that exceeded our expectations in every way.

I dined at Valley Inn on Monday, April 7, 2025, and enjoyed a delicious hamburger and fries. The friendly atmosphere and great service enhanced my dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Valley Inn for a satisfying meal with excellent service in a welcoming environment.

I went here for my birthday! It was a good time, lots of options, and the chicken nachos is quite a lot for the price. I wasn't blown away by the crab cake but thats just a personal issue I guess. The catfish sandwich was A-MAZING! Honestly just incredible

have visited this place a couple times, and will mostly be back again for the bar! The food is okay and the drinks are amazing. Staff has always been friendly.

Yelp
EXPENSIVE INCONSISTENT FOOD, LACKLUSTER SERVICE AT A LOCAL PICK UP JOINT ATMOSPHERE -- Our party was very excited to take our dear friend here for his birthday. I made reservations a couple of weeks in advance, and mentioned that we would be celebrating a birthday and could they do something special for dessert. Our reservation was for 7pm. The noise inside the restaurant was DEAFENING. We could barely hear each other speak. Usually, this would not bother us, as long as everything else was good, but if you want to have any kind of meaningful conversation on a first date, don't bother. Apparently, even though our dinner was on a Saturday night, our waiter told us it's like that ALL the time. FOOD -- The prices were extraordinarily high -- even for the area, and the food did not match the price tag. I ordered the Mediterranean Shrimp Skewer for $19 (!!) and all I received were three overdone rubbery medium-sized shrimp that were almost impossible to slide off the skewers since they were overcooked, and a TINY Greek salad. I will say that the produce in the salad was excellent-- VERY fresh, but the size was of a small ice cream bowl. Again, three shrimp and barely a handful of veggies and tiny crumbs of feta for $19! My husband ordered the Scottish salmon, which was cooked perfectly. It was an 8oz piece, so nice size, but for $33 dollars it was very expensive, considering that there were sparse elements included as a side -- a smattering of green beans. Our birthday guest ordered the crabcake which he enjoyed, and our daughter loved the mac and cheese with bacon, and the sweet potato fries were done perfectly. For an appetiser we ordered the crab dip. The carrots and celery were very fresh, but the bread was over-toasted and not cut through so we had to mangle it beyond recognition to pull slices apart. The dip was very good though. Dessert: I ordered the beignets. They were delicious and the plate was huge -- four of them came on a sauce made of blueberries and raspberries -- I ate them all because I was still starving from my lack of dinner! My husband ordered the brownie sundae which was a decent size, but the brownie tasted more like sugar than chocolate, and the single mint leaf they chose to garnish it with was wilted and sad-looking. Our birthday guest ordered the key lime pie, but when the waiter brought it out, he said they were out of candles and brought a restaurant card instead. That was quite a let-down, because not only had I mentioned it in the reservation weeks before, but I had also confirmed with the waiter once we were sat down at the beginning of our meal. It was such a let-down and did NOT feel festive at all, especially considering that we dropped more than $250 for the meal, but most importantly because this was our friend's first birthday out in 10 years! SERVICE -- For the prices that this restaurant charges, we expected far better service. The service was chaotic, impersonal and rushed. When they brought the crab dip, they did not bring appetiser plates until 5 minutes afterwards. No one came to ask us how our food was after it was delivered to the table. It was extremely difficult to get any server's attention when we needed something. Their waitstaff needs to be trained properly and they need to hire more of them. We only saw two waitstaff for a room of about 20 tables, and one busser. Our entrees were not delivered at the same time. My husband got a complimentary refill of his drink because of the wait for our food, but I didn't. LAST BUT NOT LEAST -- Once the dinner crowd cleared out, the welcome respite from the loudness of all the diners was then replaced by loud club music from the bar. This place apparently turns into a local meat market after 9:30 on Saturday nights. Adding insult to injury was the fact that for a restaurant that crams hundreds of ppl into their establishment at any given time, there are only TWO bathroom stalls and one tiny sink in the Ladies' bathroom! Nothing about this restaurant made sense. The food was inconsistent, the service was minimal at best, and we will never come here again. Our dining dollars are better spent elsewhere. However, if you're looking to "get lucky" with the 25+ crowd on a Saturday night and you don't mind waiting to use one of the only two available bathroom stalls, come on down!

Yelp
We came here after church for a brunch fare. We were able to quickly get a table and were given ample time to review the menu. I had the crabcake with bacon in substitute of the coleslaw and fries, while hubby had the breakfast platter. Food and service were hands down the best. I highly recommend you try the crabcake, as well as the cream of crab soup. The prices were fair in my book. We plan on coming back.

Yelp
Customer service and ambiance were excellent. Items ordered: Dogfish Head 60-minute IPA - smooth taste Teeling small batch - 7.5/10 Chicken wings jerked - 6/10 not really jerked. Dry seasoning Potato skins - 10/10 wish it had no bacon Short rib - carrot purée 10/10 required no muscle to cut apart. Extremely flavorful. Salad 2/10 no flavor to it, could do without it Mac and cheese - 8/10 very creamy and nice crust Outside seating is beautiful. Can see the lights and it holds warmth very well.

Yelp
I was part of a party of five, it was a weekday evening and the weather was perfect for sitting outside. They offer typical American food. Unfortunately, they were short staffed so our food took a very long time to come out, but the manager compensated us with some complementary desserts, and we were very happy. The outside area is vast and highly popular. They have TVs out there. They've got an outdoor game area. Really nice place, they even have an outdoor bar as well. Would definitely patronize them again

Sarah M.

Yelp
Super cute place. Food is decent 6/10. Service? 0/10. No one came over for 15 minutes. Never said her name. Took 15 minutes to get a box, no joke. Won't be returning.

Jordan J.

Yelp
The food was a 4/5. Potato skins were yummy but too hard to eat in some spots. The alfredo pasta was great too, expect the peas were hard. The ambiance was a 3.5/5, it was stuffy inside, to the point that it was warm and I left with a tickle in my throat. There seemed to be little air flow. I would go back and try other menu items!

Mollie W.

Yelp
Easily made a reservation on a reservation app and my table was ready when I arrived. In fact, I was running late so I called and the hostess was super friendly. I am an Atlas Rewards member and was surprised to see $25 dropped in my account "just because" for use in January. Along with a $25 Christmas gift card, I was $50 winning for a delicious meal already. The Valley Inn makes some of the best Caesar Salads around. Topped with three plump shrimp, it did a fine dinner make! They also serve up some seriously tasty crispy brussel sprouts made with bacon jam. Dessert was a piece of tangy Key Lime Pie and decaf coffee. Yummers! The meal was excellent and so was the service by Lauren A. Very attentive and kind.

Yelp
a recent stay in Baltimore over the weekend called for a dinner at @thevalleyinnmd including: - STEAMED MAINE BLUE MUSSELS (not pictured) - MARYLAND CRAB DIP - CHARCUTERIE & more besides the long wait-times all the appetizers were tasty I had the GRILLED MAHI MAHI SANDWICH with baby arugula, tomato, spicy aioli, pickled onion accompanied with fries this sandwich was bomb!

Melissa B.

Yelp
We went to celebrate a friends birthday last weekend and brought a cake. The manager, jezza, was very rude and does not know how to talk to people who are spending money at her establishment. I won't be coming back as long as she is the manager there!

Jay D.

Yelp
Came back with a group of 12 people and sat outside this time, and it was lovely! With all the people, kids running around, cornhole, and wooden garage, Valley Inn has "backyard BBQ" vibes. I got a seafood Provençal that was really well done and everyone else seemed pretty happy with their food too! I think the prices are reasonable too considering the content and size of the dishes!

Jeff A.

Yelp
Tuesday 6:30PM. 15 minutes at the back bar trying to get a drink. Gave up. It takes longer to use the touch screen than to serve drinks. I was still number 4 in line after 15 minutes. Moved inside. Got a drink right away. Ordered food. Then 15 minutes to get another drink. Food was cold before I got one. Understaffed.

Yelp
THE BEST OF THE BEST. The Valley Inn is a classic that never fails. I recommend EVERYTHING on their menu. Service is always top tier and they are experts at handling events. The layout of the restaurant is superb. From the hunting lodge style bar, to the beautiful deck, and all the way outside to the patio. My goodness this place has it all. Anything crab related here is a MUST. The fried green tomatoes topped with lump crab is a gift from god. The eastern shore cobb is something I will never forget, I think I crave it 4 times a day. Their mimosas and cocktails are always solid. Pricing is decent and matches the quality of food. I have done multiple birthdays, graduations, and just because lunches here. One of the best spots in the area

Yelp
I went there for lunch last week and ordered the seafood Cobb salad. The salad comes with crab meat, shrimp, and fried oysters. I don't care for fried oysters, so I asked the waitress if they could swap out your oysters and throw a few more shrimp on the salad. Apparently, that was a big deal, and the waitress said I would have to make a separate order and pay additional money and I don't remember what all. So I just told her to bring the salad as is, and I would give the fried oysters to my sister. The salad dressing was rather mild, and I was surprised that I was not offered a choice of salad dressings. I gave the fried oysters to my sister, and went to dig into one of the two shrimp on the salad. To my surprise, shrimp or sliced in half, so I actually only got one shrimp and the seafood Cobb salad. It did have a fair amount of crab meat, which was good. Great location, nice setting, but overall it wasn't a very good Cobb salad, was expensive for what it was, and jeez, you can't put a couple extra shrimp on a salad and take off the oysters?

Audrey B.

Yelp
Disclaimer that my review is a little biased because I did not pay for this meal myself - I was here for an event. We had a pre-selected menu. My only complaint is that the entrees did not have a vegetarian option...HOWEVER, they made me an absolutely delicious mushroom risotto they should REALLY add to the regular menu because it was so good. It was so filling and I really wanted to finish it, but also wanted to save room for dessert which was the most fluffy cheesecake ever. The meal was GREAT. My missing star was for the high pricing - I admit I would not have paid their prices independently. The ambiance was nice, a bit casual for the price point. I'd make it a bit more upscale to match the menu. The service was good and prompt for the most part.

Yelp
The experience started with greeting by the hostess, which was welcoming and pleasant. The server, Stephanie, was also welcoming, efficient and pleasant. The food was outstanding. I enjoyed the mussels in wine with the crusty bread, the Caesar salad (delicious!) with broiled salmon, which was cooked as requested and to perfection! My friend enjoyed the shrimp salad wrap. Overall a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant lighting is very soft, the wood interior is dark. There are other options for dining: on the terrace area, and outside during warmer weather periods.

Yelp
I had a subpar experience on Mother's Day dinner. I came here with my husband and two kids, and it was packed due to the holiday. We were seated in a side room that does not usually have tables, and it was clear that the tables were temporary, as it was extremely wobbly and we sat in what seemed like lawn chairs. Our waiter was inaudible, not because it was loud, he just spoke extremely quietly and no one could hear him at all. I felt kind of bad but like speak up tf. He suggested we order our appetizers and entrees at the same time, which I should have declined, but we did anyway. I ordered the French onion soup, and before I was even halfway finished our entrees came out. We felt very rushed to leave which was unpleasant. The waiter took back my main so I could finish my soup, but by the time he came around to bring it back out my family had finished eating their mains and I ate alone. Also my food wasn't warm anymore. Rly annoying. I also ordered a glass of wine before the mains came out, and this was never brought to me. When I asked about it the waiter seemed confused, so clearly he just wasn't listening or was joking when he said he'd put in my wine for me 25 minutes prior. My husband ordered a side of mashed potatoes with his meal, and he was instead served fries. He asked the waiter for the mashed potatoes that he ordered, and these never came. Tf??? We were barely seen by the waiter after I received my main, and we all were out of water. He was around at other tables but did not care to check in on us, and my daughter had to call him over from across the room to get more water. There was no point in even asking about dessert, which I was looking forward to on Mother's Day, but at this point I was too pissed off, thirsty, and wineless to bother. Overall, my family enjoyed the food, but the service was terrible and put a downer on my Mother's Day. I will not be returning here for a long time. This place was great before Atlas took it over. If you come here sneak in your own wine bottle and waters.

Yelp
We came last night for the luau that was supposed to start at 7:30. We were excited to have great food and music. Our server was amazing. He told us he kept asking how much it would cost and time of the fire dancers only to be given no information. Finally at 8:45 he informed us that it might start at 9:30 or later. He had given us the information that it wads all donations only. We were very disappointed and left. We have come here for dinner before this. The food has been great. However last night was a serious disappointment for us.

David D.

Yelp
Came in on St. Patrick's Day for corned beef and cabbage. What a letdown! Chef decided to take a recipe that has stood the test of time and make his own creation. Not good at all! My wife enjoyed her Cobb salad very much.

Rama S.

Yelp
Under new ownership (Atlas) and they definitely have made some changes to the menu but overall food is consistent and delicious! My favorite place to go to watch football and indulge in their happy hour beforehand. All the food came out hot and was good! My go-to place for chicken wings and oysters. Bartenders are always attentive and quick. Can't beat the ambiance and friendly staff.

Phillip Y.

Yelp
Stopped in Saturday afternoon, place was packed. Sat a the bar with my wife and had a wonderful meal and great drinks. My wife enjoyed her burger and I thoroughly enjoyed the Chesapeake Cobb salad. Service was great. Food was great. Prices reasonable.

Celia H.

Yelp
The updated menu does not include their honey bruschetta appetizer they have always had. One of the best things that was on the menu. So upset

Ramona H.

Yelp
Great and friendly place Loved the atmosphere, food and drinks! Beautiful outside area

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Overpriced and overrated. Went here for a celebratory dinner and food was mediocre and expensive. Good drinks, ambience, and service though. This place has definitely gone downhill since the Atlas takeover. However, the local clientele don't seem to care, as the restaurant is routinely packed.

March K.

Yelp
We had a family dinner to celebrate my parents' 56th anniversary even though it is always hit or miss there. We were seated 45 minutes after our reservation and drinks took 20 minutes after that. The food came out after an hour and no one came out to bus the tables, refill water, etc. until it was time to order dessert. By the time the desserts finally came out, we were still sitting at our table full of empty dishes. The fact that this restaurant has the gall to automatically add a tip after all of that is a reflection of the Atlas groups general disregard for good customer service. Our server tried the best she could but she did not have any help other than the people who brought our food to the table. All the tables around us had the same situation and our server blamed it on labor issues. I get that but how much of our mandatory tip are they really getting?

B W.

Yelp
Strange drink pricing. All 4 of our meals were good. The service and ambiance were nice. However the restaurant charged an additional fee for alcohol in their old fashions, ...not an up charge, just an alcohol charge. So unusual I talked to both the hostess and the bartender on the way out. Neither knew why the restaurant management imposed it.

Cass O.

Yelp
I visited from out of town and went here with family. I was taken aback by the lack of Covid protocols. I felt very uncomfortable, we ended up leaving early due to the packed sardine number of people. Before I left I order a highly recommended espresso martini- it was $15.00. I happy we decided not to eat here.

Sharna B.

Yelp
The Valley Inn has been one of my main to go too gems. The atmosphere is very calm, clean and pleasant. This time I tried several different items were all amazing. The tuna tacos was to die for. I couldn't get dessert because I was so full. The salmon entree was very moist, tender. The fried cauliflower and dipping sauce was a great accompaniment.

Jeffrey A.

Yelp
This Restaurant was very good, over the years. Since it now has New Ownership, the entire experience has gone downhill. THE Burger night used to serve very tasty, juicy Burgers, & hand cut wide fries. The burger was large, & very tasty Now, it has two smaller patties, with almost no taste at all. Now, the fries look like small, shoestring looking like it came out of a supermarket frozen bag. Also, no taste. The server was quite s l o w . Drinks were not refilled aproppriately. Apparently, the new Owner (s) have gone in the wrong direction. We used to come here, and we live in the area; but for now, no plans to come back. They no longer offer the bread sticks.

Anthony W.

Yelp
Great local restaurant and bar. Food is tasty and the drinks are cold. Kids love the fries

MiMi K.

Yelp
I have been here a few times before and everything is normally good. Friday it wasn't, it was bad, service and food. I asked for a medium steak and below is what i got. We got calamari as an app, yucky. I ordered wagyu steak MEDIUM and It's topped with crab imperial, even though it looks like loaded mashed potatoes

Nikki M.

Yelp
This was my first visit since Covid. And since they were acquired by atlas group. Place is much better. Great bar menu as well. There is indoor seating. Couple different rooms. And also outdoors. With heated lamps. Music. Thur Fri sat Bartenders - Brandon and Logan - were great. Attentive. And interactive. Food was great. And portions in my opinion are very big. You will not be leaving out hungry. Ordered Peel shrimp. With old bay. Fabulous. Atlas salad. Amazing. It's simple but the dressing was everything and lettuce was so fresh. I am a big salad connoisseur lol. So i appreciate good light dressing. Cheeseburger was huge. And i was told. Great. I saw guy next to me ordered double decker cheeseburger. and oh boy - did It looked delicious!!! Definitely worth a visit. Very good good and nice ambience. Parking - free right outside the restaurant - huge lot. Which gets packed during weekend. That fact is From my old memories.

Minji K.

Yelp
Beignets are my favorite, the fruit sauce is so good. The cheesesteak was also great, shrimp tacos were good but a little messy. They were able to make the affogato with decaf espresso. Outside seating area is nice and has lots of shade.

Alan M.

Yelp
Visiting the NEW Bar @ Valley Inn for football Sunday. Staff and manager tried to get those beautiful flat screens ready for football. Tried their best to get something on. Food and service on point. Need some directv training for sure.

Matthew S.

Yelp
We stopped in at the recommendation of friends who recently ate here and raved about it. Saw on Instagram and confirmed with the restaurant that Monday nights are half price burger nights and thought what a great day to come try a new spot. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by smiles from the hostesses who sat us immediately on the veranda. The first observation one makes when walking through the restaurant is just how big it is - several rooms inside, covered veranda, and a whole outdoor patio area with both bar and normal dining tables. The ambiance is also great, set in a wooded area with water features that really set the mood. After being seated, we were greeted by our waitress who brought a round of waters. We immediately put in app orders for the grilled wings and calamari. Both were phenomenal. The wings were charred from the grill but also very juicy and came right off the bone. The calamari was super fresh tasting and perfectly seasoned with a light fry on it. As far as entrees go we ordered the havarti cheeseburger and turkey burger and both were great. Turkey burger had a Chipotle romanesco sauce that had a great spice and th brioche bun was soft and flakey. Cheeseburger was huge and well seasoned. Steak fries were also crispy and hot. The only complaint we had about our experience was that when we called at lunchtime, the hostess confirmed Monday night is 1/2 price burger night but failed to inform us that this deal only applies to the plain hamburger and the cheese and turkey burger are not included in the promotion. Little disappointing but it is what it is.

Walt J.

Yelp
Good service, older restaurant vibe. Lobster rolls - wonderful! Everyone else enjoyed their meals.

Melanie A.

Yelp
I would expect a restaurant of this caliber to be able to make uncomplicated cocktails, but here, that is a horse of another color. I have been here several times and each time I order a cocktail, there is an issue. First time, I wanted a Blueberry lemonade martini - I was told by the female outdoor bartender shoving her face with a sandwich that they were out of Deep Eddy's Lemon Vodka so she couldn't make one. WT????? Stop feeding your face and improvise...I even offered her a recipe of Blueberry vodka and sour, and she just kept saying she was out of Deep Eddy's...which is crap vodka, anyway, and she couldn't/wouldn't make it. I think she didn't want to part with her sandwich. Second time, I ordered a Kettle One (for which they will charge you additonal $$$) vodka Cosmopolitan. I have no idea what I was served. It was barely pink and rather flavorless. When I tried to send it back, I was informed that this is how the bartender makes them....so he makes them wrong!? Forget the French Martini...that just wound up being a hapless recipe that the bartender could not remember the ingredients to make one properly. A simple Jim Beam and ginger ale with a large wedge of lemon..ginger ale was flat and it was served with a lime. Do they hire bartenders that have no experience or just don't give an eff about the quality of drinks they serve? I thought perhaps it was just me, being a bartender, and particular AF, but have heard multiple complaints from numerous patrons about their lackluster or rail liquor quality drinks. They try to be upscale, but fall short of that accomplishment. Save your time and money and hit up another local watering hole.

Chris A.

Yelp
Delicious food and I love the ambience and the service. The crab cakes are delicious and my partner loves the short ribs with mashed potatoes.

Kim O.

Yelp
For my daughter's university graduation we had booked a table at the Valley Inn anticipating a special place and a special to celebrate this special occasion. But in fact it was so loud where we were seated on the veranda (which I had actually requested) that we were not able to speak to each other. And it was as loud inside as well. Obviously the wait-staff are not responsible for noise levels but it was so exaggerated that it seems that a manager might have come to request the tables to lower their volume rather than literally screaming at each other. In fact the service was quick and efficient, and our server was empathetic but said that of course there was nothing she could do. The food was entirely average but way overpriced for the quality. Our butter had an insect encrusted in it, and the waitress just replaced it and brought us a bigger pile of what looked like hamburger buns. This is the very first restaurant review I have ever written (and I dine out frequnetly) but this dinner was such a disappointment that I wanted to warn other potential diners who are looking for a nice atmosphere and high quality creative dishes to eat ellsewhere.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Overall it was an ok experience. We went to brunch here but everything took awhile and our food was only ok. Nothing amazing. We had our kids meals and my soup come out fairly quick but after that we just kept waiting for our meals which is hard when your kids have already eaten. Our waitress wasn't super friendly and didn't give us any reason as to why our food took longer. I had been here a few times before and it seems the wait is unfortunately a continuous thing. Their food is decent but it's a slow service.

Loquetta M.

Yelp
I went here for a Christmas dinner party. This place was amazing. The food was good and the drinks was delicious. Definitely a great place to hot any event!

Brady S.

Yelp
This was our first time here. We sat in the outside area on the patio near the bar where It was a little cold, but they had propane heaters that helped. The heater they had for us at first was broken but they were very persistent in trying to get it fixed and working for us. The outdoor area has some lawn games as well as foosball and is a great place to sit, relax and even watch some sports! I had the grilled rockfish served over crab risotto and asparagus/tomatoes. It was amazing...i couldn't think of any changes that would make it better. My wife had the shrimp salad wrap and she loved it! The shrimp are nice and big and flavorful. I plan to try the lobster roll next time we go

Shawna M.

Yelp
I visited the Valley Inn with a friend for some drinks only. So my review is solely based on the bar service, drinks and atmosphere. We had 2 great bartenders Jim and Ray. Both were extremely attentive and didn't even let our drinks get empty before asking if we wanted another. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Jeza, the manager, and she was personable and attentive. The atmosphere is one that I could have sat there all night and kept drinking. I had other plans though and couldn't do that on this visit. I recommend the outside bar as it's beautiful decor and also quite relaxed.

Lorin S.

Yelp
I have driven pass this place a thousand times and always wanted to go. So when some friends invited me and my wife out, I jumped on the chance to finally get here. Parking was great. Place looks classic and historic from the outside. Inside is a little outdated, looks like an old gentlemen's club. We had reservations for 715p on a Friday night. Place was packed, inside and out. The entrance was very hectic as people were standing everywhere, I couldn't tell where the line was to speak to a hostess. Eventually we made our way to the front after asking everyone if they were in line. They seated us immediately but without menus- no biggie as our party wasn't fully there. But then the waitress came by and got plus drinks and still no menus, for 20 mins! Everyone else around us being sat had menus. So odd. Rest of the party arrives, we are vibin and having a good time drinking. Finally get menus and order food. Not many beers on tap, more of a cocktail place. I ordered the grilled lobster burrito- very tasty. Large chunks of lobster, would definitely eat again! Overall a decent dinner- environment was nice, service was ok, food was good, drinks were ok, a little pricey for an decent dinner. Will give it another try, maybe this time at the bar or outside for a different experience.

Yelp
Heard from a friend that they had great oysters. I ordered fried and raw. The fried oysters came with special sauce which was amazing and the oysters themselves were fried perfectly. Raw oysters were flavorful. They had a hood selection of raw oysters from different areas. There is outdoor seating on a large back patio with a separate bar area, greenery and hightop bar seating and regular seating. They also have a screened in dining area and an indoor large dining area with a old school but high end vibe. Wood throughout and nice decor. Large parking lot so easy parking and restaurant is located off of I-695 and I-83. Our waitress was Gabby and she was phenomenal. I will be back!!

Yelp
There's been such a mixed bag of feedback around The Valley Inn that we just haven't been rushed to go here. Why willingly subject yourself to seemingly questionable service and hit or miss food when there are so many darn good places in and around Bmore? We were given a really generous gift card to the place over a year ago, but only just decided to use it for takeout so as to remove the possibility of poor service. Here's a run down of the food: - Valley Crab Soup: we actually ordered a bowl but only received a cup, so ding there. And it was fine; nothing offensive but not memorable either. Skip. - Braised Asiago meatballs: honestly, one of, if not the best thing we ordered. Great flavor, generous in portion size, and juicy. Must have. - Brooklandville wings: we opted for the sweet chili sauce. They were decent - not the best sweet chili sauce we've had but good and ok in size. Take it or leave it. - NY Strip Steak: surprisingly, it was cooked well - based off reviews, I was really worried. But despite the peppercorn crust, it was almost flavorless. The cognac cream helped some but it lacked salt and that unctuous flavor you expect. The green beans were so over cooked that they were grayish, bleh. Skip. - Cowboy Ribeye: again, surprisingly cooked well but this at least was seasoned more appropriately. The house made steak sauce was a bit sweet for my taste, but it didn't need it. Sides of roasted tomatoes and potatoes were fine. Get it. - Bacon Brussel Sprouts: oh holy heck no. This side was literally 10 sprout cut in half, covered in what I believed were mustard seeds, bacon bits, and melted cheese. It was not at all what I thought the dish would be and basically an $8 salt lick. For the love all everything good, skip! - Bacon Mac and Cheese: I didn't think I, or my kids, would ever meet a Mac and cheese we didn't like but this was it. Not sure where the bacon came into play because there was maybe 3 bits in total, and the entire side was beyond bland. Maybe that wasn't a bad thing considering the saltiness of the brussel sprouts, but it tasted of sheer nothingness somehow. Skip! Overall, I hate to give a less than stellar review to a local place that's shifted everything to stay afloat during this pandemic. But, we sadly found the quality of food, particularly for the price point, severely lacking. It's an extensive menu, perhaps there's simply too many dishes to perfect! Either way, I wish them all the best - but I don't expect to return in the near future.

Yelp
Stopped by with hubby for lunch, we were asked if we had a reservation, we didn't, but was seated quickly! Crab soup was warm and added crab meat was cold-didn't bother to request reheat as the flavor was really good; mussels were delicious and sauce was on point!!! Wedge salad was crisp and blue cheese dressing was perfect! Here we go-crab cake sandwich was BIG and a little bland accompanying French fries were plentiful, fresh and crispy! Shrimp salad wrap was the best!!! Shrimp was seasoned and perfectly steamed, a little too wet for me but still delicious-plate full of irresistible fries, so I only ate half of my wrap. Desert to go Beignet's with mixed berries were not as sweet but still tasty! It was a great day for lunch!!!!

Yelp
One of the best smash burgers I've had. The menu ranges from the basics to the superb executed beautifully. While the location looks private and comfortable, the inside is country horse, and in warm weather, outside seating can accommodate pretty much any size party in multiple settings. A spectacular new indoor bar completed December 2023 invites friends to meet friends to watch a game. They stay busy. Make a reservation. It's worth it!

Yelp
This is such a staple in the Falls Road corridor of Baltimore County! Now part of the Atlas Group, I was a little nervous it wouldn't feel as homey. However I love this spot - the menu is great, the decor is homey and pays homage to the horse country nature of the area. We came here for lunch and were seated in a cozy booth next to a roaring fire! We shared the calamari, a harvest salad and tacos. Everything was fantastic and the portions are generous. Loved this and can't wait to be back!

Yelp
We used to love summer Sunday evenings on the patio with a bottle of wine and a delicious salad. We recently went there on a Sunday evening and were very, very disappointed. First of all, everything was expensive. There was not a thing on the menu for vegans. We ended up with a very disappointing and very expensive salad to go with our bottle of "meh" wine. We won't be back
