"Carmel Valley Ranch is one of those fancy resorts for people who care about golf courses designed by famous players and experiential things like falconry. Yes, falconry. If you want to experience the 500-acre property without throwing down for an overnight stay, visit the lobby restaurant. Their dining room is anchored by a stone fireplace, with comfy plaid banquettes and leather bar stools. The hill views alone are worth the trip, but the food—made from produce from the property’s garden, as well as housemade honey, cheese, and wine (they even have a resident salt maker)—reminds you that you’re visiting a real working ranch. Their goat cheese ravioli with lobster in a cream sauce will have you scraping the plate." - allison green, clara hogan

We didn’t expect to start our dinner in a garden, but that’s where Chef Andrew greeted us—quietly harvesting herbs and edible flowers with intention. That moment set the tone for what followed: a meal grounded in freshness, care, and quiet excellence. The paella was a standout—perfectly cooked seafood and deeply fragrant saffron rice, accented by the very herbs we’d just seen plucked from the earth. There was nothing showy about it, just clean, bold flavors balanced with finesse. The cornbread deserves its own mention—moist, slightly crisp on the edges, and rich enough to linger in memory. And the flourless chocolate cake? Rich, velvety, and thoughtfully paired with local strawberries that added a subtle brightness. Service was warm and intuitive, and the setting made us want to linger. There’s something special about a place where every detail, from the ingredients to the plating to the atmosphere, is so deliberately cared for. This isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a place where food tells a story. We’ll be back.

We had a fantastic dinner at Valley Kitchen during our weekend stay at Carmel Valley Ranch. The food was outstanding — we celebrated Father’s Day with a tomahawk steak, and everything from start to finish was delicious (don’t skip the bacon!). Our server, Benjamin, was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience feel extra special. We even got a warm visit from Chef Andrew, which was such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere is relaxed yet elevated — perfect for a memorable meal. Highly recommend dining here whether you’re staying on property or just passing through. We'll absolutely be back!

Google
The best meal I have had in a LONG time. We first met Chef Andrew in the herb garden, personally picking out flowers and condiments for the paella special that night. The paella turned out excellent — fresh herbs, seafood, and incredible umami of the saffron rice. Chef Andrew’s cornbread is also the best I’ve ever had. The flourless chocolate cake, which comes with local strawberries, is to die for. Chef Andrew is one of the most talented chefs we’ve met. And we enjoyed the great service, comfy ambience, and delightful dining experience filled with local and fresh ingredients. Highly recommend for and will definitely be coming back.

Google
3.5 stars, but rounding up to 4 stars for dog menu and hotel s’mores, which makes this a pleasant and fun experience for me. If the food were better or the prices were much lower I would bump to 4 stars. Everything was fine to eat but nothing was “wow.” They allow dogs to eat at the front near the lobby and they have a dog menu! This was a real highlight for me! Came for dinner. The beef cheek was $50 and the burger was $22. Also got a Caesar salad that was pretty tasty. The service is prompt, it’s a loud bustling place. Bonus is s’mores at the hotel fire pits after!

Google
had an amazing dining experience at The Valley Kitchen! The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. You can even walk around with your drinks on their large property and enjoy the views. A special shoutout to Amanda, who provided exceptional service. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her professionalism and genuine hospitality truly made our visit memorable. I highly recommend The Valley Kitchen to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Breakfast was outstanding this morning at the Valley Kitchen, which is located within the Carmel Valley Ranch. All three of us ordered different breakfast dishes, and all three of us loved everything we ordered. The dining outdoors, which is near the pool area, is a beautiful section of the restaurant. We loved dining indoors and at the pool bar as well, the service here overall is excellent!

Google
5 stars all around. The service was exceptional. The hostess asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion and we told her my wife’s birthday. When you walk in they have dining arrangements nice couches to sit. We tried the kimchi dressed Brussels sprouts, niman rib eye and lobster pasta. Our servers Gracie and Martin were excellent. Constantly kept a full cup and were inquiring politely about our meal. At the end of the meal they provided a complimentary dessert of choice with a candle.

Google
The service and atmosphere is good , but the food is terrible. We tried a lot of food and I did not like anything. Seabass was chewy, cheesecake just not tasty like the rest of the food. Burrata just boring. My point the food is not balanced with flavors and so on. Like the menu was not designed by real chef 🧑‍🍳. Very weird mix of ingredients and so on.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner and breakfast here while staying at Carmel Valley Ranch this past November for my birthday. I usually have lower expectations with hotels restaurants, but Valley Kitchen ended up being one of the best meals I've had in Carmel in recent years. Some of our favorites from dinner were the kale brussel sprout caesar, bread with butter, and chicken piccata. Breakfast was just as good and enjoyed their egg plate and pancakes. The restaurant has a completely different vibe from dinner to breakfast, and we had a particularly cozy dinner sitting at a corner table with a view of the restaurant. We'll definitely be back. Pros: Phenomenal food for breakfast & dinner, friendly staff, and cozy setting.

Yelp
We did the breakfast buffet on the morning we checked out and I will say they had an excellent selection of items. They kept up with replenishing items and the food was fresh and delicious. It's located right near the pool so we had a nice view as well. The downside of the buffet was that our server was nonexistent and took over 30 minutes to appear after we were ready to pay the bill. The latte also needed a bit of help. Overall enjoyable experience.

Dennis H.

Yelp
Ambiance very pleasing poolside. Hamburger with Truffle fries very good as well. Service was responsive and friendly. Overall a favorite for this local although a little pricey.

Kiane S.

Yelp
We do like the new look of the restaurant, except the cushions sit you very low. Awkward if you're 5 foot two. Service is always good. They try hard to please. The food last nite,2-22-25 was the best in a long time. Salads, mains, and desserts all good. Meatballs too cooked/ and hard. This is the 2nd time....to hard. The sauce makes it. Desserts were a surprise, delicious. Finally we can say, Valley Kitchen has good food.

Caroline B.

Yelp
Everyone was so nice and the ambience and environment was so nice. The food was delicious although it was a bit expensive we got the burger, the chicken, two salads and the meatballs. The meatballs went first serve to us were undercooked basically raw so we told the waiter and they cooked us a whole new meatball dish and brought us a side of bread on the house that would normally be 15 dollars.

Yelp
Great food and service . Waitresses and waiter were very attentive, will definitely go back. Location is nice alot of shops to go shopping.

Yelp
The Valley Kitchen offers a dining experience that blends great cuisine with the comfort of its natural surroundings. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with warm hospitality and an ambiance that sets the stage for the meal. The restaurant's commitment to using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients is evident in every dish. Whether you're savoring the fresh flavors of their farm-to-table salads or indulging in the offerings from the land and sea, each meal is awesome. The menu changes seasonally and it is curated to showcase the best of California's culinary landscape. The rustic and refined decor, coupled with expansive views of the surrounding hills, golf courses and vineyards, creates a sense of tranquility that enhances the overall dining experience. For those seeking a dining experience that celebrates the best of the region while offering an escape from the ordinary, the Valley Kitchen at Carmel Valley Ranch is a must-visit destination.

Yelp
Ambiance is lovely. The dining room has very comfortable upholstered chairs. It was empty at lunch, which is what made it so pleasantly quiet. If the dining room was even half full, because of all the hard surfaces the noise level might make it difficult for you to hear others at your table talking. View is of the swimming pool surrounded by orange umbrellas to shade guests from the hot sun, and some greenery outside. Service was very nice. Our server made sure to get us everything we wanted, and promptly. It's the food that was the let down. Avocado toast was mostly an arugula salad with enough avocado underneath it to render the sourdough loaf bread (?) somewhat soggy. Pear dessert was sickeningly sweet, and creme fraiche ice cream did nothing to offset that. Black unsweetened ice tea was okay. Wouldn't bother going back unless they pay more money to hire a better chef, and give him/her a higher budget to work with.

Yelp
I want to give a big Thank You to Valley Kitchen and the Grill at Carmel Ranch since they have been places that we can rely on when we visit Carmel. We returned recently for a memorial lunch, and they graciously gave us a table in the back room, overlooking beautiful live oak trees. Our party had several special requests for seating pillows and views, and they politely accommodated everyone. We got a generous cheese plate for the table, then rounded out the lunch orders with burgers and shrimp tacos. We enjoyed some Sauvignon Blanc with the meal, sipping and chatting while we ate. The waitress kindly brought the desert menu, and we treated ourselves to lava cake with vanilla ice cream. I also want to give a big thank you to the Grill located on the golf course, which was one of our go-to destinations during the pandemic. They had a limited menu, but always had a delicious salad or a dish with Mary's chicken. We even sat outside one cold day and savored hot chocolate drinks to warm up. Thanks for being reliable, convenient, and for having friendly service every time we go.

Eric S.

Yelp
We love the staff at Valley Kitchen and eat there at least twice a month. Last year we had the best Thanksgiving dinner you could imagine. We pre-booked as soon as we could and looked forward to the festivities. This year's Thanksgiving dinner was horrible! The turkey pieces were small and overcooked, the mashed potatoes were tasteless, stuffing salty, the veggies all three of my green beans were also over cooked. Plus it took 40 minutes for our meals. We had family drive in from out of town and there wasn't a satisfied guest seated at the table. A turkey TV dinner would have been way better than what we were served. The cook needs to go! Once again we love the staff and the dinners that we have at the restaurant, but this cook was way over his capabilities on this large dinner.

Yelp
Good Glorious God almighty!!! to whom it may concern, this is the best restaurant of all time. harlan was a glorious gem and the bartender manny was extra attentive, suggesting the juicy meatballs and tangy tacos. talking to harlan makes coming the VAlley Kitchen extra amazing; in fact, if you ever take the opportunity to come here talking to harlan is suggested--a good glorious manager. amazing staff, enjoyable atmosphere, and ambient lighting.

Derek S.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere near the lobby of Carmel Valley Ranch main lodge. It has some great views of the golf course and valley , surrounded by oak trees- classic Carmel Valley. We ate here three different times, twice for breakfast and once for dinner. The service was top notch. Food came out promptly. For breakfast the options looked delicious, but we had the oatmeal and granola / yogurt which are a healthy hit with the kids and our family. For dinner, kids menu hit the spot - good grilled cheese and hotdog :) I had the salmon which was a bit plain - not particularly seasoned but the kimchi rice was really good. Probably would order something else next time but it was nicely plated and tasted good.

Shirley L.

Yelp
We came here every morning during our stay at Carmel Valley Ranch because we received a $60 daily breakfast voucher, so my review is less sensitive to the prices (reasonable $8 for kids and about $20 for adult entrees). Positives: - Dog friendly - a few tables indoors that allow dogs, also a covered heated outdoor patio - Kid friendly - kids menus, (my) kid approved - buttered noodles, blueberry / chocolate pancakes; high chairs and booster seats available - Decent food - Good food, a bit pricey but not a shocker for hotel restaurant - Good service - Attentive waitstaff - Convenience for folks staying onsite Negatives: - A bit pricey, but reasonable by hotel rearaurant standards Tips: 1. I would say that between ordering a la carte vs the weekend buffet option for breakfast, I enjoyed the $38 per person buffet which included most of the menu a la carte items. Kids eat free, all beverages included so for a family of two hungry adults with two kids paying an extra $20 overall to sample much more variety was worth it! 2. I would look into meal options, my friend's travel agent was able to book us complimentary meals with stay which included $60 daily towards breakfast and $100 for dinner. I believe this was with Hilton rewards.

Amrita G.

Yelp
The ambience is beautiful, the bartender does a great job with the drinks. But, the food is underwhelming. We got the artichoke gratin which needed to be baked more and the warm pear tart - did not taste fresh.

Erin J.

Yelp
We are staying at Carmel Valley Ranch and have had a few meals at Valley kitchen - one was poolside breakfast/lunch and one was dinner in the actual restaurant. This review is mostly for the dinner experience. Unfortunately Valley Kitchen is just not it - the service is fabulous and friendly, but other than that it's over priced, under portioned, and just plain not good. Jose our server was fantastic - friendly and quick and all around great. But the food he recommended was not. We got the meatballs, bread ($10?!?) and the lobster ravioli. The first meatballs came out and they looked like they had been cooked many hours earlier. I mean i could tell how dry they were just by looking at them. And while the vodka sauce and fresh cheese brought excellent flavors, the meatballs were in fact super duper dry and super duper small. They brought us another one and it was slightly more juicy but still over cooked/seared. And these are some small meatballs! The ravioli tasted like it had been frozen, and the amount of ravioli and lobster they give you is a crime lol. I don't think it's actually frozen btw, but it tasted as good as frozen store bought ravioli. The bread was star of the show, fresh warm and delicious. That with the meatball sauce made up for an otherwise crappy meal. Unfortunately if you run a big resort like this where people come to stay so they don't have to leave at all, I feel like you should have a much better restaurant on property. We loved CVR but the restaurant was not good and we ventured out for dinner our second night. The lunch / breakfast is generally fine.

Yelp
The Valley Kitchen is perfectly and beautifully located right within the Carmel Valley Ranch hotel. If you are a guest of the hotel I'd for sure swing by for a cocktail and I'd recommend you try the risotto. We were celebrating our anniversary and decided to go for the special which was a 16oz NY strip with mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. Unfortunately the steak was tough and lacked flavor which made us sad considering it was $95. The kitchen was kind enough to split each of the entrees in half which made it really easy to share. The service here was absolutely stunning. We had Jose A as our waiter and I cannot say enough good things about him. He predicted our needs, was extremely kind, and really made our night special. He was who every waiter on the planet should be. I also really appreciated his transparency when I asked his opinion on wine and entree options. The restaurant is super nice and does allow for pets as long as weather allows!

Jessica L.

Yelp
We had our anniversary dinner at Valley Kitchen at CV Ranch and the experience was absolutely amazing. From Andrew's top notch communication and facilitating incredibly special touches, to Megan taking time to take sunset photos of us, and Ismael our amazing, personable, and knowledgeable server, it could not have been better. The food was all amazing, the setting was beautiful, and all the staff that we came into contact with were just so kind and welcoming. Being locals, we love to find gems in our amazing area and Valley Kitchen is more than a gem! We can't wait to come back. Thank you to the amazing staff for going above and beyond!

Mike S.

Yelp
This place is awesome. We found it by accident as we were already in the area. It appears to be a restaurant in Carmel Valley Ranch (part of Hyatt). Hence we found ourselves in a resort! There is this awesome fireplace outside that we enjoyed for a bit. As per dinner the service was amazing. Our server even comped some cookies for our 2 1/2 year old Izzy. Our Izzy tends to be super hyper and was running around and hit her head on the table. The manager immediately came over and offered an ice pack. I wish I got her name. She was always checking up on us. Kudos to you!! I would recommend visiting this place for late lunch or dinner even if you are not staying here. The food and service are great! We just may have to stay here in the resort in the future!

Kay N.

Yelp
Food: Everyone at our table was happy and full. We tried the halibut and the shrimp risotto. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service: Not so splendid. Ambiance: I love being surrounded but the natural scenery. The transition form outside into the restaurant is harmonious. Absolutely breathtaking.

Nicholas W.

Yelp
The service and wait staff here was exceptional however the food did not meet the expectations of its price point

J L.

Yelp
Generous portions. Crispy bacon was a nice option. Friendly service. Patio seating with a view.

Kiwi G.

Yelp
Chef Andrew is amazing! The Beef Cheeks & Polenta melts in your mouth. So tender and delicious. Risotto was a wonderful comfort food. And the burger's different cuts of meat made it soooo flavorful. Chef came out to meet us! So friendly, So personable. So professional. Thanks Andrew. We loved it. Girls trip 2024. We'll be back! Enjoyed our drinks too... espresso martini, dirty martini, lemon drop with blueberry. YUM

Herbert A.

Yelp
Drinking our way down the California coast and glad we stopped here. Beautiful location and our table had a great view of the golf course and mountainside. The service was very good. Will stop back again when in the area.

Grant B.

Yelp
Awesome service, tasty food and a lovely setting by the pool or in the dining room. This is the place to go with family, for a business lunch or for a cocktail. They have a great logo as well!

Janai S.

Yelp
Ok, so I have stayed at the Carmel Valley Ranch multiple times, but I never actually ate at the restaurant. I usually get room service. So, we finally ventured down for breakfast and it was only ok. The good: the hostess was legit. She greeted us and sat us right away. She was super friendly. Also, the atmosphere was really nice and comfortable with pillows on the banquettes and nice China. The bad: the service was only so-so. When the server was around, she was great, but outside of the initial greet and taking our order, we couldn't find her. My 2 year old spilled her chocolate milk all over the table and floor, which we sat with for over 5 minutes before I finally asked someone else for assistance. I had ordered the huevos rancheros, but I didn't realize it was laced with chorizo until I took my 1st bite. I don't eat meat, so I needed to order something else, but again, the server was nowhere to be found. I finally went and got the hostess to put in an egg white frittata for me. The server never checked to see if the frittata was ok, even though that glaze was over-the-too-sweet. All in all, it was a mediocre experience. We Did tip the server, but also slid the hostess some cash on the way out because she was really the star of the show.

Andrew E.

Yelp
Snuck up the hill to enjoy a cozy breakfast. The restaurant space was quite comfortable and inviting. They served my coffee in a artistic stone style cup, an unexpected surprise. The service and food exceeded expectations, I highly recommend getting some of the smoked salmon. The generous amount served my appetite well. I also got an omelette, which had the fluffy texture we all want. Need I say more, highly recommended.

Marie C.

Yelp
Delicious dinner and fantastic service. Cocktails and wine recommendations were great. Will definitely revisit!

Kristen E.

Yelp
Tried two different meals over the course of my stay at Carmel Valley Ranch. Chicken was good but the short ribs are the star of the show! Looking forward to having it again on my next trip!

Hsin-Yi K.

Yelp
The unforgettable Carmel Valley Ranch, after staying once, I want to go back every year! The food inside is really amazing! Because of the Hyatt's Globalist status, I can enjoy complimentary breakfast every day, and there is a Buffet option in the morning of one day, but after looking at the food options, I still think that the a-la-carte food menu is more attractive, and because the breakfast is so delicious, I later booked dinner reservation too! For dinner, for the price, I think it is very reasonable! The quality of the food is also great, not too expensive or bad just because it's in the resort!

Fernando L.

Yelp
Excellent service, excellent food. What a great experience! We've been to a lot of places and sampled really good food...this was up there with the best. My son said the best he's ever had was the chicken piccata. It was phenomenal, and I don't even like capers! The beef cheek was divine and melts in your mouth. Wonderful meals by the chef. I will definitely be back.

Connie L.

Yelp
Anthony was the best server! We came her for lunch and had a group of 5, sitting outside and he was very attentive and provided excellent service. We really enjoyed the garlic clams. We also tried their sandwiches and burger and everyone liked what they ordered. The ambiance was nice with amazing views.

Debbie B.

Yelp
Wonderful food and a fun place to be for everyone. Pork Chop Service is always friendly and a great place for kids and DOGS! The atmosphere has great music and lots of different seating areas. Great deserts! The pork chop, chicken and salmon are all wonderful.

Lori N.

Yelp
Dining outdoors in most of the Bay Area inside parklets or on the sidewalk with cars all around, city congestion and people asking for money/food isn't always an ideal setting. On the contrary, Valley Kitchen is a nice way to dine outdoors. It's located in Carmel Valley Ranch, making it a nice hidden respite. The Hen-House Sandwich was good with the egg done just right with an oozing centered yolk. The only thing was it was served with hash brown potatoes when the menu stated that it came with country potatoes. Not a deal-breaker, but my husband did order it partly because he wanted the country potatoes. I get that there may have been a need for the switch, but the staff should've been instructed to inform customers in advance, rather than making an automatic swap. If it's on the menu, that's what customers are expecting. Fair enough? The servers were friendly and helpful, but unfortunately, I can't really say the same about the hostess at the front desk. Dining has moved outdoors now during the pandemic. I really enjoyed the setting by the pool, and the setting would primarily be the reason to come. TIP: Bring a jacket. Even though it's sunny, it's fairly windy and chilly now.

Juliet A.

Yelp
this was a beautiful and clean experience. the staff was very kind and food came out very fast and was phenomenal. would say nothing bad about dinner. it was spectacular!

Aimee F.

Yelp
Mediocre, expensive food and very mediocre service. Disappointing. Do not get the vegetarian entree. There were multiple dogs in the restaurant at dinner which made it feel chaotic.

Lily S.

Yelp
Valley Kitchen is located within the Carmel Valley Ranch complex, which includes accommodations, a golf course, organic garden, chicken coop, and bee farm. The outdoor dining area is very picturesque as it overlooks a golf course and is located right by the pool. There are heaters and a fire pit for those cooler nights. The food here is SO fresh and locally sourced. In fact, many of the ingredients come straight from their organic garden and ranch. We had the brunch items, hen house sandwich and huevos rancheros, and both tasted as good as they looked. Beside the brunch items, there were several salads that look really good, burgers, pastas, and fish tacos. After lunch we took a short walk through their gardens. They have a mix of veggies and flowers, and a small pumpkin patch too. Overall it was a really nice way to spend the morning.

Julianne D.

Yelp
As far as dinner, we did not particularly enjoy the food--overpriced, under portioned, and not particularly flavorful as someone else review described it well. The ambiance is lovely and the desserts were good. Generally, we have had better luck with brunch and lunch there.

Eric S.

Yelp
The food - bellow average. The beet salad was overpriced and had 4 little pieces of beets. The soup was cold. The ceviche was very fishy. They ran out of items on the menus. I could go on and on. The drink i ordered had no alcohol and was filled less then a quarter of the glass with no ice. The service - bellow average. Could not explain items on the menu. The server did not wipe off the table between courses. Did not ask to see how things are tasting etc. I could not find him when we needed him. For a high class establishment, and for the subpar expensive food, I would recommend going to a different place. I did not even take a picture....

Elena V.

Yelp
Reservations for 12 at Valley kitchen. I've had dinner here before and it was excellent. This go round was also very good! Menu has a good variety of options. They did run out of NY steak which was a disappoint to many at the table.. waiter was great & I wish I could mention his name - Jesus maybe?.. he was friendly, accommodating, liked conversation .. I'd recommend coming during the day so you can appreciate the gorgeous landscape & big oak trees!

Charles L.

Yelp
Our group of 16 had dinner last night. It was terrific! We ate in a semi private room to stop the main dining room. We had a variety of entrees including remarkable filet mignon, excellent pacific halibut, bucatini , and a variety of other dishes. The service was excellent. The food was top quality. We will return!

Laura N.

Yelp
Amazing from start to finish! Every staff member welcomed us upon arrival. Service was attentive, genuine and informative (our server was Jose), food was beautiful and tasty, and the ambiance was amazing. Highly recommend!

Lorie N.

Yelp
When I went to the official website, one of the quotes said "Deliciously Unforgettable." I'd have to agree. The drive alone like another reviewer said is worth the trek because it's nestled inside of Carmel Valley Ranch. Driving past the golf courses and picture perfect grass, it feels like something out of a movie. We were here with a group of 30 for my cousin's birthday (which was easily reserved on Open Table) and because we were such a large group, we had an entire private room to ourselves. The service was amazing. Manuel who was the server on our side of the table was super attentive, friendly and made great suggestions on what to order. (More on that later.) The restaurant itself was spacious with floor to ceiling windows where you could overlook the beautiful grounds including the pool and outdoor patio area. Since it was Christmas season, it was also decorated with a huge Christmas tree in the front lobby area. When I asked Manuel what was good to eat, he recommended the Huevos Rancheros but to substitute the Chorizo with some sausage. I've never had Huevos Rancheros without the Chorizo but he told me to trust him. For $19, I have to say that it was the best Huevos Rancheros I've tasted. The eggs were perfect in and of themselves because they were runny, just the way I like them. Black beans were seasoned nicely and mixed in with the queso fresco, salsa verde (which was also made in house) and Ranchero sauce, I was in foodie heaven. It almost had a lime taste? I couldn't quite put a finger on it but this dish is a must as I will get this the next time I come. I was not missing Chorizo at all. It was almost as if the sausage was meant to be the whole time. Manuel was kind enough to bring over some extra home made salsa, sour cream and salsa verde... We shared that with everyone around us. The menu has it listed like this: Huevos Rancheros $19: Two Eggs Over Easy, Black Beans, Chorizo, Queso Fresco, Crisp Tortilla, Salsa Verde, Ranchero Sauce If you ever stay in Carmel and get the chance to have a meal here, I highly recommend it. Come, stay and enjoy the respite from city life.

Bo B.

Yelp
The place is very cozy and the food is decent. The only negative here is that we waited around 20-30 minutes to be seated even though we had reservations. Food: Oyster and caviar - very good Scallops - very good Kale - not great Passion fruit panda cotta - very good

Bridget D.

Yelp
The food is exceptional and the presentation is even better. The new chefs have done a fabulous job in creating new delicious entrees and desserts.

Kristie C.

Yelp
Stayed at Carmel valley ranch and the INSIDE IS Doggo friendly (including a dog menu as well)!! kind of slow service but delicious, quality food worth its prices - Breakfast: $35 for buffet (omelette station included) but $18ish for many of the plates items - Scallops: $38 SO YUM AND SO BIG, served with perfectly cooked tender broccolini and surprisingly tasty lentils. - Tuna Poke: $18 yum, served with tortilla chips but better with the free warm bread - Oat milk latte $5: Yaassss - Carrot cake $12: meh a bit too sweet but served with the honey from their farms TLDR: loved coming to this super dog friendly restaurant at the lodge for both breakfast, dinner and happy hour!!

Aykui D.

Yelp
We have been to Valley Kitchen twice and day outdoor both times. The food is delicious and the scenery is beautiful, however, the service has been very slow both times. Not sure if they attend to indoor seated guests first...we waited more than 30 minutes after receiving our menu one time to put our order in.

Ashley W.

Yelp
I've gone here plenty of times for lunch and dinner and I'm always very happy about the good! Only complain is service is very nice but slow. Finally got in here for breakfast for the first time and I am absolutely amazing! Quality was phenomenal and it was so fresh and satiating! I will absolutely highly recommend this place as probably one of my favorite breakfast places!

Yelp
We spent the weekend here. All of our meals here were outstanding. I loved there breakfast options. The double bacon poached egg over country potatoes were fabulous. OMG filling with so much flavor. A wonderful way to start the day. My wife had and loved the gluten free pancakes. unfortunately they ran out on the second day. I had the AYCE brunch. The fruits were really fresh and a real treat. The croissants were made on site and had good flavor and were nice and warm. The options were perfect. My only complaint was that the bread/muffin the eggs Benedict was one was tough to eat. Maybe the sitting on warming plate toughened the bread. The poached egg and ham were great. As were the mimosas.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant with the ranch's winery view from one side. The food is expensive, probably due to the remote location of the ranch. However, the quality was great, and the ambiance was very romantic. I heard that they use homegrown fresh vegetables. Overall definitely worth it, and I would do it again.
