My daughter ordered a huge amount of donuts and cookies instead of cake for my grandson’s graduation party. To say that it was a big hit is an understatement. Not only were they delivered to the party, they were beautifully arranged. Everyone at the party loved the display and couldn’t believe how delicious every single flavor was. They even made a congratulations sign out of donuts…stunning. Do not hesitate to hire these beautiful and talented young ladies. They are nothing less than amazing!

Google
These donuts are incredible! Huge, fluffy, and packed with flavor. My husband absolutely loves them — and he’s not even vegetarian or vegan! There’s always a great variety of creative flavors to choose from, and the service is just as sweet. We’re always greeted with a smile, and the whole experience feels warm and welcoming every time. Highly recommend!

Google
As far as donuts go, these were pretty good, be they vegan or otherwise. The flavors were all unusual and creative, and tasted exactly as advertised. That said, the lemon/lavender and blueberry donuts were better than the chocolate donuts (which were lacking in deep, chocolatey flavor). Also, the texture of the donuts was a bit unusual - they were both dense and chewy, and had a lot more gluten development than I’m used to in a donut. Nonetheless, I would probably come back to try the rest of the flavors!

S. P.

Google
Small shop with a huge flavor profile!!! These donuts are killer! I’m not gonna recommend any, bc I recommend them all! My favorite is the Old Fashioned. Not much in the shop other than the donuts so don’t plan to stay but you gotta get these!

Lindsay Votypka

Google
Preordered letter doughnuts for my husband for his commitment to being an amazing cat dad. The doughnuts 10/10. They aren’t just good vegan doughnuts, they’re good donuts period. Also, I feel like I spoke with one of the owners and she was SO FREAKING SWEET!!!!! Support this business 7 days out of the week if you can. We were just traveling a couple days in Cleveland on the way to Chicago but ugh, can’t wait to come back.

Google
I have been going to Vegan Doughnut Company since the Cleveland Flea began, and they continue to blow me away! A must stop if you are in Cleveland. Outstanding doughnuts (you wouldn’t know they’re vegan unless someone told you), awesome variety of flavors, and incredible customer service. They also have the best oatmeal cream pie I’ve EVER had! The staff go out of their way to make sure you have an unforgettable experience. I am a forever customer!!

Google
It's a cute and cozy donut shop! The staff was very attentive and courteous. The donut shop smells amazing. The donuts were awesome! They were very soft and fluffy with no overbearing sweetness. I purchased an old fashioned cake donut, a blueberry donut and a glazed twist! Vegan perfection!🍩

Jessica Rodriguez

Google
These donuts are amazingly delicious, fluffy, and moist without being oily. Inventive and intense flavors, inexpensive, and maybe the best donuts I've ever had (vegan or otherwise)! Will for sure be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Review by Marvin The Realtor with SoldByMarvin.com Listen... if you're anywhere near Cleveland and you don't make a detour to The Vegan Doughnut Company, you're playing yourself. We stopped in and got the Orange Cream donut -- and let me tell you -- it was a whole nostalgic experience in every bite. Think orange creamsicle vibes from your childhood, but all grown up and crafted with plant-based love. The texture was soft and pillowy (not dense like some vegan spots), and the flavor was balanced just right -- not too sweet, not too tart. You can tell they care about what they do, from the flavor creativity down to the presentation. It's always refreshing to find places that prove you don't have to compromise taste to eat plant-based. Whether you're vegan or just donut-curious, this spot delivers. If you're local to the area or just visiting like we were, The Vegan Doughnut Company is a must. And as always -- if you need a good food spot or a great realtor, especially if you're in Atlanta -- you already know who to call. -- Marvin Orieh | Your Realtor & Go-To for All Things Plant-Based & Property SoldByMarvin.com

Yelp
There's a small parking lot on the side of the building with meters, so make sure to bring change - unless it's the weekend. The shop itself is small, with no seating or tables, which is fine but something to be aware of. It felt a bit dark inside, but I think that might be a part of the vibe. The cashier was pleasant and patient with us, which made the experience even better. I didn't have high expectations going in (I'm not vegan) but the donuts looked great online. They were chewier than traditional donuts, but really good. My favorite was the raspberry strudel because tasted just like a toaster strudel! The lemon lavender nice & my sister really loved the strawberry matcha. If I'm in the area again, I'd come back and check out some of the other unique flavors they have!
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
As a non-vegan I can say these doughnuts are way better than you would expect. Keep in mind the doughnuts are a little bit thicker and more filling than typical doughnuts. They also offer things like seltzers and cold brew coffee.
google avatar

Goodness I.

Yelp
OKAY THIS PLACE IS SO PRETTY!! We came in a couple hours before closing and there were still so many options! So many different flavors to pick from and everything was delicious!
google avatar

Jan W.

Yelp
Finally got to try it. The lemon lavender was too dense for me and didn't feel the flavors were well balanced. Maybe the chocolate old fashioned will be liked better by my boyfriend
google avatar

Natalya K.

Yelp
Normally their donuts are very good, however, I visited today for Fat Tuesday and their "paczkis" were disappointing. The texture was off, it was just like a regular donut and not at all dense and chewy like a paczki. It was also quite oily/greasy. For $4 I expected more than this. The service was also behind and quite slow, despite the place being near empty. As for ambiance, there was nowhere to sit and eat, I had to take it to go. The flavor was good, but I am not sure if I want to return after this.
google avatar

Jillian S.

Yelp
These doughnuts are so darn tasty. Waited in line outside in the cold along with many others for a 11 am restock--well worth it. Pink themes and doughnut art were just the cutest to bring in the sugary sweet vibes. Will always recommend this place.
google avatar

Anna-caroline B.

Yelp
Donuts were simply amazing! The Raspberry strudel was my favorite of what I tried! There was only 2 people in line in front of us but they were very quick. The store is small, I don't believe there were any tables but it was so cute! We took our donuts down to the lake to eat!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a handful of times, and it's always so good! My favorite is the lemon lavender, but you can't go wrong with the classic glaze twist. I love that the flavors change every month. If you're able to catch the banana pudding doughnut, it's a must try! I literally called to thank them after I tried it the first time, it was THAT good. And did I mention it's a family owned/women owned/black owned business?! I cannot say enough good things about this place.
google avatar

Micaela M.

Yelp
Hand down my favorite donut spot in CLE and I'm not even Vegan! The menu changes every month and I'm in awe at the different combos the owners come up with. The line is usually long to get in on weekends but they move fairly quickly. There's no place to sit which is probably the only downside.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Always an amazing experience at The Vegan Doughnut company, their endless delicious options make it soooo hard all the time to choose just one to enjoy. But doesn't matter what option you decide to go with, you can't never go wrong. All of them are delicious, my favorites are always their strawberry and lemon options, so good!
google avatar

Ailin J.

Yelp
Spontaneous decision to enter the store and the ladies at the counter were so friendly and described the different doughnuts available. Everything is made fresh daily and the flavors are so fun! This was my first time having a vegan doughnut and the dough was soft and had a little chew and I loved it! If all of their dough was like this I think it's actually better than regular doughnut texture and I didn't feel super heavy eating it as I do other places.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't let the name trip you up! Neither of us are vegan but my husband and I very much enjoyed these donuts! We ended up getting a total of four, total, and didn't even manage to eat the two we each picked out that morning. Lol. They are big, dense, indulgent donuts! Thankfully, they save well enough and we were able to enjoy them the next morning. Beyond that, your mileage may vary depending on your donut. The lavender lemon was strong! But I saved it for the next day and it was good! The employees were friendly and helpful answering questions since it was our first time there, also. A few things to note: There wasn't any indoor seating but there is a nice tiny park area next door that would be a good spot to sit and eat. Parking can be tricky but there are a few metered spaces next to the building and while we were there, the meter gave a 15 minute free timeframe. Also, this business took Apple Pay, which worked well for us.
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
Wow! The raspberry strudel donut was the most delicious. The lemon lavender was interestingly yummy. We were quite happy with all the donuts and will be back soon for more.

Michael M.

Yelp
Not sure what they use to fry their donuts in, but it leaves a strong after taste. The chocolate sprinkle donut, the chocolate flavor was so subtle that the after taste ruined it. Now, the lemon cake donut, it had the after taste too, but the lemon flavor was much stronger so you didn't notice it as much.
google avatar

Trish M.

Yelp
I love this cute, little shop! It's decorated so cute, the people are very friendly and they usually have a good selection of donuts; but you have to come early to get the favorites!! My only complaint is they are VERY sweet, so we don't go that often.
google avatar

Sophia S.

Yelp
Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! And unbeatable prices. I promise you, you won't even believe these are really vegan. The best donuts ive ever had period!! I've had tons of vegan and regular donuts and this beats all of them!! I had the strawberry and apple crumble pie donuts. Omg so bomb. If I visit Cleveland again I will be sure to stop by. Servers were very nice and welcoming. And it's like $4 a donut or less.
google avatar

Molly C.

Yelp
My favorite donuts in Cleveland. Large, creative flavors that change every month. Bonus points for the frequent Taylor Swift soundtrack too.

Mike A.

Yelp
Our favorite vegan doughnuts, and our favorite doughnuts...period! We enjoy the cake doughnuts. Our favorite flavors are Blueberry, Carrot Cake, Cinnamon Roll, Chocolate, and Old-Fashioned. We also enjoy the yeast-styled doughnuts (Maple is our absolute favorite). Every person who has taken care of us at the shop have wonderful; such nice people. You don't have to be vegan to enjoy their doughnuts; they just happen to be vegan!!! Win-Win!!!
google avatar

Devin P.

Yelp
A great place to get a sweet treat. There's always a variety of flavors, both stuffed and not. Lately my fav has been the lemon lavender. It's a well made donut, with a lemon curd sort of icing and a sprinkle of fresh lavender. It feels like the perfect combo for spring and it's not too sweet.
google avatar

Chelsea S.

Yelp
Not sure what took me so long to try this place, but my tastebuds are sure glad I did. It was hard to decide which ones I wanted to try, and I can't wait to try more. The maple cream filled one was to die for. The filling is so light and fluffy. I wanted to get a cake donut too so got the lemon blueberry. So moist and yummy.
google avatar

Siobhan M.

Yelp
I love their donuts! My favorite is the lemon lavender and I tried the strawberry creme. Both delicious and not overly sweet
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
It seems a remarkably vegetarian-friendly neighborhood to have an entirely vegan doughnut shop. It's a small place but very pleasant inside, and the display was mouthwatering. If you hadn't read the word "vegan" you wouldn't think it looking at these baked beauties. Admittedly I took mine to go and didn't eat it fresh, but even though its texture wasn't quite on point the next day, the matcha and pineapple combination was a memorable clash of iridescent flavors. I had no need for anything else, but if what I got was any impression, they've got this doughnut thing figured out.
google avatar

Rita O.

Yelp
For all the meat lovers out there who are skeptical about vegan donuts not being up to par with other donuts, forget everything you think you know about vegan food and head over to The Vegan Doughnut Company. Their donuts are fresh and absolutely delicious; the real test is the glazed one, it was my favorite. I will close my laptop now as I dream of the next time I get to visit this place.

Darlene W.

Yelp
Ordered and paid $42 for a dozen donuts on Tuesday to be picked up at 10 am on Sunday. I was there at 10:50, donuts were not ready and had to wait 10-15 minutes for them. No ambiance, poor service and donuts did not even look appetizing. Wait time was extremely long for other customers.
google avatar

Yelp
I really don't understand all the hype of this place. We finally came here in a random Saturday, mid their open hours and the only donut they had left was the Buckeye donut (maybe it was the o it one left because the "regulars" know better. So I purchased 1. I can't even remember the price. But I was super excited to finally be able to try a donut from this place that people rave about. And honestly..........it was absolutely horrible. I feel so bad that vegans have to pretend that these are good in order to have a donut. Maybe I'm too picky because in the area we have so many awesome bakeries, donut shops, etc...but OMG I had to toss this sucker and I was never so happy that they mismanaged how many donuts they had to back for demand because I didn't have to buy more than 1. Vegans - you deserve better!!!!
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
We popped in on a Saturday AM - the area where the shop is in was hopping! There was a line, but not out the door and people were mostly waiting while they made more donuts. Overall, not a bad wait time. We got the dunkaroo, tiramisu, lemon bar and maple glazed crème filled. The donuts were not overly sweet, which is appreciative when there's toppings like on these. The best part is you don't feel like garbage after eating them! The only thing I wish is that they had drip coffee on the menu - could be a great opportunity for them to partner with another small biz in CLE!
google avatar

Saphace A.

Yelp
We were walking to get some coffee and decided to stop in. They were going to close in less than 20 minutes. Lots of good options. Some of which rotate. We got a lemonade lavender, strawberry, and a blueberry one. All so delicious! Couldn't tell it was vegan and the texture and flavors are better than most donuts I've had. Staff was nice! 2 of them. They helped give suggestions and didn't rush us even though they were closing soon.

J C.

Yelp
We ordered the lemon square, chocolate chip cookie and the peanut butter cookie. As we were eating them I kept asking myself if they were vegan. All of the desserts were delicious! The shop is cute and has a comfortable vibe.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
It doesn't matter if you're vegan or not, these are the best doughnuts in the city!!! I suggest following the shop's instagram to check their monthly menu.

Yelp
I'm very been telling myself that I would make my way to Lakewood to try out Vegan Doughnut Company but for some reason, something kept stopping me. I finally got off of my tail and made it to Lakewood and... I cannot believe that I waited so long. These are the BEST doughnuts that you'll ever have! I was genuinely in awe after my visit. The store is in a plaza and features a pretty quaint inside. The women inside were extremely kind and made a few recommendations to me, based on my likes. If you're only purchasing for yourself, don't be like me and make decisions based on your eyes rather than your stomach. While I purchased four doughnuts, it was a struggle to eat two. They were THAT filling, and THAT good. I'd recommend also eating this close to when you purchase them so that they're we fresh as possible. The quality does understandably decline, the longer you wait. My birthday is in the next two weeks, and I will absolutely be there to once again treat myself to more doughnuts than I can eat.

Haylee K.

Yelp
I love the donuts here they are great. But the hours are inconsistent and have had experienced that they don't open when they say they will. I drove over at 7:40 to pick up donuts for a coworkers birthday. They are listed to open at 7am. I checked the instagram just to be sure they weren't closed because this happens often. There was nothing on instagram but when I showed up, there was a sign on the door stating they weren't opening until 8:10. I love this place and the changing flavors but the fluctuation of hours is frustrating especially if you don't live close.
google avatar

April W.

Yelp
Feel quite lucky to have this gem in my backyard. Vegan desserts can be very hit of miss but that does NOT apply to the Vegan Doughnut Company at all whatsoever. These doughnuts are some of the best I've ever had, vegan or not. The flavors change monthly and it's definitely worth following the business on social media as they do often ask for input about favorites, what to bring back, etc. Some of my favs include the glazed twist, oatmeal cream pie (not a doughnut but still delicious!), carrot cake, and many of the chocolate varieties. If you live in Lakewood, take advantage of the ability to swing by later in the morning or early afternoon because the line for these treats before they even open is often very long. They post status on social media as well and it also doesn't hurt to call to see which of your favorites might be left. The team, including the owners, is sweet as pie or, rather, sweet as a donut. Go support this local, black-owned business often!
google avatar

Jillian F.

Yelp
The workers here are incredibly friendly, adding to the charm of this local Lakewood donut haven. So many delicious looking donuts!
google avatar

Marlena K.

Yelp
Vegan or not these donuts are heavenly! I personally have tried vegan and non vegan donuts at this caliber and there is no distinction. It's pure perfection. The donuts are whimsical gorgeous and packed with a punch of flavor everyone in Cleveland should try. The glaze, raspberry jam and peach clobber were a home run. The lavender one (forgot exact description) was ok. Any donut you pick you can not go wrong. Purely amazing! Cash and credit accepted. The place is super clean ! Parking in front is available. Staff is so patient and kind in giving suggestions.
google avatar

Gracie W.

Yelp
Some of the best donuts in Cleveland! Great flavorful and pretty donuts, there flavors change every month and are always very creative and fun. All the donuts have great texture and the toppings and fillings aren't too sweet. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into making great donuts for everyone to enjoy. Service is always so nice and there donuts are displayed in a super clean and pretty counter. Small shop always cranking out amazing donuts!

Perstina W.

Yelp
Delicious! I will definitely be returning 10/10 If you are looking for a local business to support, you will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Jasmine G.

Yelp
I'm in love. They've put a lot of thought into these doughnuts and the store itself (love the store decor and vibes). The doughnuts are delightfully light yet you get all the flavor profiles. It's not just that sugar flavor either. I'm not vegan but I think vegan doughnut company might be my favorite doughnuts ever.
google avatar

Aparna B.

Yelp
Hooooly hell these are some truly delicious doughnuts! Got up early and made the short drive to Lakewood to pick up a dozen vegan doughnuts! The staff was so friendly and recommended which I should try. Their menu changes each month so there's new flavors to try every month! Parking is available on the street and these can be a little pricey but you get some BIG doughnuts and they're probably the best vegan ones I've had!
google avatar

Amy J.

Yelp
Long lines from open to sell out for all four days of the week they're open. 6 donuts was $15.75. Mostly yeast donuts cut in half with filling between the two halves. Unique flavors such as matcha cream and creme brûlée. The lavender lemon was absolutely spot on with a deliciously aromatic sprinkling of lavender buds atop a genuine lemon glaze that was just enough sweet and sour. The egg nog donut also had a true to name flavored cream on top of the glaze. The yeast donut texture is the same as a very chewy dinner roll which is not my jam. Too dense and again so chewy it's like a more tough pull-apart. Pricey at $2-3 per donut but worth the novelty to try once.
google avatar

Nikki D.

Yelp
Finally made it to get some donuts! Every pop up they had in the past they were sold out and I now know why. There were so many donuts to choose from but I decided on the glazed twists. They were delicious to say the least. Nice and soft to the touch and my palate was in heaven. They were a little sweet but if paired with tea or coffee, they would be fire! They aren't open daily but I will definitely make it a point to get there when they are open to try more flavors.
google avatar

Sonali P.

Yelp
Probably my favorite donuts in cleveland and they're VEGAN. I've been here twice now and was able to try several of the different flavors - all of them looked amazing and tasted even better! Couldn't even tell they were vegan. The donuts were light and not greasy or overwhelmingly sweet. They have so many fun and unique flavors. The menu changes every month (check their insta for the latest!), so there's always something new to try. The lavender lemon, tiramisu, and blueberry cake donuts were my absolute favorites, but you really can't go wrong. The line can get long so try to go early, but the wait is WORTH it. They have also incorporated safe social distancing measures, allowing only one customer/party into the store at a time. Also, their hours are limited so be sure to check them before going!
google avatar

Giuseppe A.

Yelp
This is the exact place you should support for donuts! If you don't, you need to. But, if you're ignorant and don't care about what you put in your body, then I understand. These donuts are excellent!! Spongy soft, full of flavor and and every bite makes you smile! The majority of donut shops in northeast ohio are garbage, made with all kinds of fake stuff, preservatives, chemicals, etc. All bad. Finding a place like this in Ohio was so refreshing! I'll tell everyone I know to support this place!
google avatar

Natalie S.

Yelp
This place is special. Not only are the donuts delicious and flavors unique but those who work there are so nice. I love that they have gf and df options as well

Rasta R.

Yelp
Donuts are great but they're rarely open. Always some inconvenient reason and i drive over 30 minutes to get here. Just wasted gas today.
google avatar

Clare D.

Yelp
Visited The Vegan Doughnut Company today after much anticipation and hearing many rave reviews!! It 100% lived up to the hype! I tried the Fruity Cereal Milk and wow, it was delicious. The dough was so airy, fluffy, and light. It was sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. I also tried a few bites of their Easter-themed doughnuts, which were more of a cake doughnut consistency and also top-notch. The quality of these doughnuts is truly unmatched. I've heard a non-vegan say that these were the best doughnuts they've ever had. The location of the Vegan Doughnut Company is extremely convenient, on the main street of Lakewood. There is ample parking space in the lot for the shopping center behind the shop. Love to support this excellent local business.
google avatar

Howard L.

Yelp
I have never heard of this place before but my wife has been here plenty of times. I love this place just because it's so unique but I will say that regardless of the price of the donut, they're really filling. They're too sugary for my tastes but thankfully I got a water from there they were selling. Very quiet place too with very friendly and patient staff.
google avatar

Tahsin L.

Yelp
I have been craving vegan doughnuts since the vegan donut shop by me closed down during the pandemic. I was beyond excited to try these. I had super high hopes and The Vegan Doughnut Company did not disappoint! I swear I almost cried after eating the banana pudding donut. I have not been able to shut up about it since I visited in March. I regret not going back and getting more of them while I was in the area. I normally don't love the idea of filled donuts because they can be overly rich and sweet, but every single one of the six donuts I had was heavenly. The banana pudding donut holds a special spot in my heart though. Their flavors rotate each month. I've been keeping an eye on their Instagram page for the new flavors and dreaming of the donuts. We went on a Saturday morning, right when they opened and there was a fairly long line; it moved quickly though so it wasn't too big of a deal. I'm glad I went early since judging from their Instagram, it looks like they tend to sell out. They were fresh, super soft, and moist. Best. Donuts. Ever!
google avatar

Blanche K.

Yelp
I was happily surprised this place lived up to its hype!! Food 5/5 These donuts are FIRE. The dough is loose and fluffy, almost like brioche!! The flavors are unique and tasteful, but none were too sweet at all! They also are cleanly decorated, not overflowing with icing or messy at all. I'm shook that these are vegan I would never have guessed by their taste and texture. Highly recommend strawberry shortcake and cookie butter! Service 4/5 Line took about 40min after getting there at opening time (9am on a Sunday)! But the employees were super nice, and they have social distancing policy of only allowing one party into the store at a time and masks required! The place was pristine and very clean. Will definitely be back. Best donuts in cleveland yet!
