The Victor Tavern - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Another day, another Ethan Stowell opening. This time, it’s a third Victor Tavern. Here you’ll get the same kind of industrial space and classed-up pub food as the other two. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Once I got over the child-like barkeep who dared ask me if I wanted "Well" vodka for my vesper martini, I found the place to be very nice. The only reason I don't give it a 5-star is because of its piss-poor beer selection. Parking was a breeze, and the place just felt like new construction. I made a reservation for superbowl Sunday (just in case) and never felt like the place got too crowded. The use of space was excellent, and I look forward to coming back and taking advantage of the patio. The salad I had was big enough to be shared, and the main course was good. This is a place where if you want to enjoy a game or drink on nice surroundings you should take a trip too.

I went to Victor Tavern Eastlake for Memorial Day lunch and I was very pleased with my experience. Della was my server at the bar and she was exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating and anticipated my needs. I ordered the Ancient Grains & Greens salad and added Salmon and it was SO good. I thought all of the flavors went well together and the Salmon was cooked perfectly.

Had an amazing experience at Victor Tavern! The atmosphere is perfect for a casual night out, with plenty of TVs to watch the game and a cozy patio with fire pits. I sat at the bar, and Sean was excellent—he let me know about happy hour and recommended the Smoky wings, which were absolutely delicious. The smokiness paired with just the right amount of spice. They’ve also got a fantastic drink selection I can’t wait to explore more. One thing I really love about this place is that they pay their employees a living wage. Gratuity is included on all checks, which I think is awesome—finally, a company paying their staff equitable wages! Highly recommend checking them out!

Google
I’ll admit to being skeptical about paying $23 for a Beyond Burger, boy was I wrong. A slight amount of heat, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned. The drinks were great too. The others in my party were also impressed. Highly recommended. If I had any complaint, it would be that it’s very noisy. It is a tavern, so I guess that’s to be expected.

I went here for the first time for a Seahawks game on a Monday night, and it did not disappoint!! The service was impeccable, and even though they were quite busy, we never had to wait long for anything! The food was all great, and my only constructive feedback would be to season the fries more. There are TVs everywhere and even one for the spacious, well lit outdoor seating area! I will be coming here for many more games with many more friends!!

I've been to The Victor Tavern in Eastlake twice this week, once for lunch on the patio and once at the bar (this evening) for Happy Hour. Both times were terrific: great food, attentive and friendly service, and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Both Rio (who took care of my friends and I on the patio) and Jon (who was behind the bar this evening) were the best: helpful, fun to talk to and very good at what they do. I had the calamari starter both times and it was perfect: crispy, a little spicy and delicious. The rotisserie chicken caesar off the Happy Hour menu was also wonderful and a large portion alone. It is enough for a meal. (Ethan Stowell's Happy Hours are one of the best restaurant deals in Seattle.) Loving this place. I'll be back!

We had our annual company Christmas party here on a Saturday afternoon. My first time visiting this, establishment..ordered the breakfast smash burger without the egg, and it was very delicious! Also, their cocktail sauce is some of the best I've ever tasted in my life.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and service at this place. My bf and I love the happy hour. My bf loves the burgers. The tavern chop is my go to, and we ALWAYS get the calamari! Have yet to have anything but a great experience dining here. Sara the manager is super friendly and attentive as is the rest of the staff. Definitely enjoy the patio seating too! There is a service charge in lieu of a tip, which was explained to me as the way a lot of places make sure the staff is paid a living wage nowadays. That's really the only thing I could see being a downside for some people. But you aren't required to leave any additional gratuity (we usually do), so it's kind of the same as dining anywhere else and tipping regularly.

Yelp
I was so excited to go to victor tavern when I heard they were opening up a location in Eastlake. Such a great addition to the neighborhood. It's very much worth it to go during happy hour...they have so many options at decent proves. We ordered the fried olives (addicting), the old bay prawn cocktail, and the French dip sliders with fries. The service was great, but they just recently opened, so I'm curious to check them out in several months after they've gotten more comfortable.

Yelp
This place has parking and an amazing patio, Go Here! Great food, service, and atmosphere. See my previous review for a bit more detail. HH is 3-6 daily last I checked, with all day HH Sunday and Monday. I think a dip in patronage has cost some of their best deals, such as 9 after 9, and the burger and chicken Sammie being on the HH menu. Construction has been rough on everyone in Eastlake, but there's a parking lot here, and some accessible parking with a couple blocks as well.

Yelp
The prime rib was absolutely incredible!!! The staff was great... very educated and excited about the food! Which makes me excited to come back and try more food! I have also had the spicy fried chicken sandwich and it was just overly spiced. Not heat wise just too much of something I was not a fan of ... overly done... but that meat in the prime rib sandwich was great!!! The vibe was very much sports bar meets diner but very clean, very open. You can see the food being prepared which is great! They have a lot of sauce options but surprisingly not honey mustard. Our server made us honey mustard though so was able to accommodate. Solid fancy diner vibe!

Yelp
Came for breakfast this Sunday morning and we were I believe the first in at 10:20AM. Breakfast is served Saturday & Sunday from 10AM for a specific Brunch menu. We had; *Coffees *Shrimp & Grits - this is from their IG recipe/reels per the menu note *Eggs Benedict with Pork. *Side of Bacon This is a needed and valued addition for breakfast options in Eastlake. I was also able to learn further about their no tipping policy. It's very much due to them paying their employees a living wage. So I appreciate this and we need more of this. Minimum wage is set to increase to $20.76 for 2025. Seattle is a HCOL city and being able to support workers with our dining $$ matters- you can read about it via the uploaded photo of the menu. Everything was delicious. I would say our shrimp and pork was a tad overcooked. This can happen during openings at restaurants due to how hot and quick the surface is cooked on, especially around seafood and protein. The bacon is probably one of the best we have had while dining out due to how thick the slices are and really tasted like candy bacon. Good portions and I was able to take some home for leftovers. Staff is really attentive and quick to refill our coffees. Grits were flavorful and complemented the shrimp. Benedict had a good hollandaise sauce and I believe their English muffins are baked in house with a good texture and taste. The potatoes were well fried and we added some salt to taste but was good without it if you are limiting sodium intake. Will be back to check out the other menu items for breakfast.

Yelp
I came here to watch a football game and it was great! They have a lot of TVs and the food is good. The food is a little pricey, but the service is incredible. They have great bar seating or table to see the tvs and I'll definitely be back for another sports event!

Yelp
Pretty solid! Same menu as their 6th ave location. Great service and cozy and modern ambiance. Try to go for the happy hour specials if you can.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch, the food was delicious and the staff very polite and friendly. The place very nice and had an upscale restaurant vibe more than a tavern. Will definitely return if I'm in the area again.

Yelp
Great new happy hour edition (3-6p daily) to south lake union area. The place has parking and menus for brunch, dinner and late night options until 10pm. Food: -Polenta fries were the best thing we had, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside with a nice cheesy flavor that complemented the savory flavor of polenta. Great portion. -Buffalo wings are your standard wings, nice tangy flavor and good portion. A little dry but thats what ranch is for. -Victory burger is what I used to judge most pub establishments' food and although they cooked the medium rare patty very well, their brioche bun was a bit on drier and firmer side and made the burger taste dry despite the juices coming from their perfect patty. Service was exceptional. 20% service fee automatically added is pretty huge but given the service I was provided I was content. Price/Value: With the aforementioned service charge, I don't think it's worth it to drop $80 on pub food/drinks for 2 at full price... however their menus for happy hour and late night options are great, definitely going here again to check out the rest of their menu options. $60 total for a burger, two apps and a drink enough to stuff 2 people.

Yelp
We came here with a group of friends after work for happy hour, and it was such a great experience! The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. We ordered a variety of appetizers to share, and everything was delicious, but the wings, and everything pretzels were definite standouts. The elderflower spritz was the perfect mocktail!! I know not everyone is a fan of an automatic service charge, but I actually really appreciated it here. It's clear from the menu and the staff that this policy helps ensure they're paid a livable wage, which I think is awesome. The restaurant also has a lot of TVs, which would make it a great spot for catching a game(if you like sports). Overall, I'm so glad to have this place in the neighborhood. We'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Not a super attentive bartender but it was kind of busy with tables and he just couldn't get around to helping everyone. We ended up leaving the bar for a table. He was a nice guy and came to our table to apologize so that was really nice. But I wasn't upset at all, I used to bartend so I know how it is. I assumed the cocktails would have good liquor in them but they didn't put the brand in the description, simply saying "bourbon" and I was told it did taste cheap. So there may be a reason they don't specify? I don't know, next time I'll ask what brand first. I did like the mocktails and love that they have creative options that aren't just juice and soda. I recommend those! The burger I ordered was not good - it just wasn't cooked well and was very chewy. So I didn't eat it. That being said, we were paying for it anyway, I was bummed my food wasn't good but it happens, so oh well. Then when we got the check I was pretty shocked that there was a 20% fee added to the bill that is said is "retained by the business". I don't like that. I think the prices should just be raised if they can't afford to pay the bills. Don't give a separate charge. People pay it anyway - what's the difference if it is in the menu price or a surprise separate fee glaring at you on your bill. It is one thing if it was a gratuity added for their employees. That I could sort of understand. But it wasn't. So you are tipping the business at a percentage that was once reserved to the most top tier of service. I found that crazy and crazy that it isn't made clear from the start. It is a sticker shock when you get your bill. Anyway, I had already decided this place isn't for us and the server came back, and noticed I hadn't liked my food and took it off the bill. Which was a surprise and something I didn't expect. So he redeemed them a little. Too bad he didn't get that 20% tip we just gave the restaurant. It isn't worth going back just for a $15 mocktail. (Plus 20%)

Yelp
The place is okay. I was super excited for it but it definitely has a suburbs lame vibe. Loud TVSs, loud kitchen, really really bad music, I guess it is a tavern but I'd think they can make it a bit more interesting and less country. Maybe a better play list perhaps. Service and food were fairly decent though. Ps. shame on those of you that complain about the 20% add-on! People are working hard to make a living in Seattle and businesses don't have it easy either!

Yelp
Perfect spot for a brunch with friends, especially if you're looking for a place that can accommodate larger groups. The outdoor seating is lovely, and we all enjoyed our meals--no complaints on the food. However, it is on the pricier side for pub fare, and they automatically add a 20% gratuity, which is then taxed, so keep that in mind.

Yelp
The food is very good and so is the service l. The ambiance, however, another matter. All those tv sets, all those sports, to drop $100 by the time you are done! I realize that I am in the minority, but I will only put up with tvs in a cheap place, such as the not too distant Otter which has a similar menu, food almost as good. Too bad.

Yelp
That location is great for a sports bar/dinner spot, with a great patio. They've got drinks covered, including a frozé. I assumed these people were pros but in two visits and it remains to be seen and the bill still stings. I had the SW salad with chicken which was just okay. I unfortunately had to extract an ingredient I don't like not mentioned on the menu, while the servers watched idly. The next time, I started with 'pretzel bites,' after 15 minutes of waiting, it's more like a side of rolls. I stopped there. With a drink to accompany each meal, I'm $180 in and regretful. I saw the happy hour menu and it wasn't any better. The person next to me mentioned, $1 off isn't that generous. If they're not willing to offer better specials or lower prices, the service and food may need to improve.

Janet M.

Yelp
It's right downtown so on a weekend there's not much happening. But the restaurant is very nice and service is good. Food is just okay, which is surprising for an Ethan Stowell joint. Fried calamari was tough, the wings and fried chicken sandwich were ok. Polenta fries were excellent. Have a budget friendly happy hour menu. I imagine it's a great place to watch a game and down some cocktails.

Kaila L.

Yelp
Okay, I've been to this Victor Tavern twice already since it opened last week because it's that great: once with the family (including two kids) and once with my team from work. The atmosphere is modern and upscale yet cozy customizing an old bank into a restaurant. The kids loved the open kitchen where they could watch the meals being prepared and ate all their food from the kids menu (pasta for one and burger for the other). As a parent, I appreciated the options for veggie sides. My team was a large group and the service was on point. Lots of checkins by the staff and food options for a variety of dietary restrictions. The most raved about items were the jalapeño business burger (great name and taste) and the southwest salad. Pretzel buns were also super good. While a large group, we were able to chat no problem and get some work done while enjoying great food. The best part was we didn't have to fight South Lake Union traffic. The location was easy for those coming from the east side and downtown Seattle.

Yelp
We loved our experience! We went to celebrate before trying on wedding dresses and were treated with some champagne to celebrate. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Overpriced. Bad food and to top it all 20% service charges (no option to change) perfect example of hype and no substance. Stay away
