The Victoria (Killarney, County Kerry) 12 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In County Kerry, in the far southwest of Ireland, is the Killarney National Park, home to some of the country’s most inspiring landscapes, including three interconnected lakes, vast woodlands that long pre-date any human settlement, and the remains of structures, like Innisfallen Abbey, that are over a thousand years old. It is, in some ways, a trip back in time — which makes it all the more surprising that just outside the town of Killarney is a totally contemporary boutique hotel: The Victoria." - Tablet Hotels

A lovely property and wonderful staff! We had an amazing stay. The included breakfast was delicious and our dinner at The Ivy was superb. It’s close to both Killarney and the national park, which was perfect for our stay. Maura was incredibly helpful in arranging activities during our 2 day trip. We’d absolutely stay here again on future trips!

This is a beautiful hotel right opposite the national park. The receptionists were very helpful and friendly providing a warm welcome. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were nicely decorated, and the hotel amenities were high quality from The White Company. The bedrooms do not have air conditioning, we were lucky that it wasn’t too hot. There are fans but opening windows isn’t always an option as there were building works taking place outside. The bar was also a great place to relax with a drink. Where it fell short was breakfast: they are trying too hard with a sit down/ table service but the food just didn’t deliver in line with the expectations. The poached eggs were regularly overdone and the sausages were low quality. They’d do better with a buffet style and put the investment into the food quality rather than trying to deliver a luxury breakfast experience they can’t execute properly. Overall nice experience just trying too hard in some aspects where they don’t need to.

Lovely boutique hotel with excellent service and friendly staff. The exterior is gorgeous and quaint. Included breakfast with your stay is excellent, and the attached restaurant/bar has wonderful food, with a good selection of whiskey, cocktails and beer. Service was phenomenal throughout, and our concierge - Maura - was exceptional with her friendliness and recommendations. It’s close to Killarney and the National Park. I would happily stay here again in a heartbeat.

I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. This is probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever visited. We stayed in the Luxury Alder and I would highly suggest upgrading to this room if you can. I cannot speak to the other rooms, but this one is absolutely beautiful. The room is large, the bed is comfy and the bathroom is absolutely amazing with a rainfall shower and heated towel rack. Breakfast was incredible. Unlike many hotels offering a self serve buffet, you get a variety of options to order and are made fresh. I tried a different item every day and they were all delicious. They even catered very well to gluten free needs. We ended up also eating at the restaurant for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were incredible, especially the staff at the front desk and at breakfast. They were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The location is not in town, which can be a downside for some, but we prefer being away from the bustle, so it was perfect for us, plus it was right on the Ring of Kerry and next to the Killarney National Park so we loved it. If we ever make it back to Ireland, we will definitely be booking a stay here again!

I stayed here for three nights on my recent trip to Ireland. All I can say is: WOW. I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. Was it a bit expensive? A bit. But so so worth every penny. My room was absolutely spotless and cozy and so so comfortable. I slept really well on the bed. Breakfast was delicious- a couple occasions I had lunch and dinner at the hotel too, which was equally yummy. The hotel is a 30 minute walk into the main part of town, but it’s a very pleasant walk I think. Lots of great shops and places to eat. Lots of amazing things to do outside of town too, yet still close within driving distance. The staff at this hotel was incredible- everyone I spoke to was nice and friendly. If I ever come back to Ireland, I am absolutely going to stay here again.

The Victoria was a great experience. The property is very quaint. The breakfast and service at breakfast was outstanding. The rooms are not air conditioned, which would make the stay better in the warmer months. We were in a room that did not get a ton of ventilation from the open window. It’s about 0.7 miles to downtown, which is walkable. Very close to Muckross House and Ross Castle.

Yelp
Our hotel reservation for our two nights in Killarney was at Victoria House. This was a boutique hotel and big enough to not be a B&B. Check in was just a desk by the front door and it was quick and friendly. Someone helped my parents with their bags as their is no lift and their room was up 2 flights of stairs. To the right was a bar area and it also had a patio attached. Right beside reception was the restaurant area where they had a dinner menu every night and breakfast in the mornings. My room was on the ground floor and while the view wasn't much, the room was super cute. First, it had two single beds that were close but not quite together. They were comfortable though so it was all good. The room was decorated in purple and silver in a Victorian style. I loved the color combinations. Beside the closet nook I had a silver dressing table with a big purple cushion. It felt very fancy. It was hard to find plugs but I managed to get the coffee going in the AM. My parents room was bigger and also Victorian in nature but it had a sitting room and what appeared to be an American plug as well. Oh and wifi in rooms. The location is a bit away from the middle of Killarney, so we usually took a cab but if you hadn't already been walking around all day you could totally walk it and many people did. Breakfast had the juices, pastries, cereals, etc. sitting out and then you ordered from a menu if you wanted hot food. You could get the full fry up or just scrambled eggs or even kippers. I got the kippers just to freak my mom out and let my dad taste it. Hehe. After my initial apprehension, I thought it was a really nice and unique hotel. If you don't mind being out of the city center then give this place a try.

Yelp
Lovely hotel. Very nice and quiet. No air conditioning in room and as it was unusually warm, we asked for a fan, which someone promptly brought to our room. Room was spacious. Lighting in bathroom was pretty dim. Typical continental breakfast in nice setting.
