The Victoria (Killarney, County Kerry) 12 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In County Kerry, in the far southwest of Ireland, is the Killarney National Park, home to some of the country’s most inspiring landscapes, including three interconnected lakes, vast woodlands that long pre-date any human settlement, and the remains of structures, like Innisfallen Abbey, that are over a thousand years old. It is, in some ways, a trip back in time — which makes it all the more surprising that just outside the town of Killarney is a totally contemporary boutique hotel: The Victoria." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely hotel just on the outskirts of Killarney - quiet but easy to get into the bustling town (5 min drive). Our bedroom was a good size and well furnished/decorated with a comfortable bed. The public areas of the hotel were not huge but the place felt cosy and the decor was good. Nice breakfast - all individually served so no buffet. The staff were helpful with a particular shout out to Maura who always remembered everyone's name and was exceptionally helpful with ideas for tours and the other things to do locally. I would definitely recommend this hotel unless you want to be in the thick of it in town where parking is busy and it is quite noisy.

Had the most incredible stay at the Victoria! Maura, Maria and Megan were all fabulous and so nice and professional. The room was impeccable as was the rest of the hotel. The location was right across from the national park with a bike rental next door to explore. Bed was very comfortable and every inch of the room was clean. The breakfast was delightful. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing food and the staff were very polite and very friendly. We had dinner here for party of 5 everyone loved the food and the setting. We had the Sizzling Prawns. Chowder as starters. For mains we had Chicken, Duck, Fish & Chips, Steak Sandwich. Everything was perfectly served and cooked. We will return.

An absolutely fantastic and cosy hotel! The Victoria is located on the main road to all of the major attractions in Killarney. It’s walking distance from the town of Killarney and it’s a pleasant walk as well. The hotel has a very cosy vibe and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable, clean and the beds and pillows were so comfortable that I had to take off the pillowcases off to see the manufacturer so we can order the same pillows. We only stayed one night but the stay was more than pleasant and we will definitely return for a getaway visit. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good, notably fresh and reasonably priced. Parking is also available but if I recall correctly, parking has to be announced to the hotel as it’s subject to availability (but I’m not 100% sure)

This is a beautiful hotel. Rooms are great. Food in the restaurant was very good. The young lady at check-in was friendly and helpful. But as some of the other reviewers stated, I was not impressed with some of the other hotel staff. Service in the restaurant at both dinner and breakfast could have been better - staff were cold and impersonal.

I stayed here with my mum in October 2025. The hotel is really nice, the people in reception are super helpful and show you the way to the Ring of Kerry and Killarney. However, the portions for breakfast are rather small and we had an incident with the service there because we were left unattended for several minutes and sometimes it gave me the impression that because we don't speak English, the waiters treated us differently. It is shocking given I have been living in Ireland for 3 years and this had never happened. The manager at the reception was very kind when she received our complaint, but it is worth expressing this here. For a boutique hotel with a Michelin star restaurant, it was way below the mark.

The Victoria Hotel’s wonderful owner and outstanding staff assure patrons a stay to cherish for years to come. Here you can leave your travel worries at the hotel desk. Maura and Megan helped us with daily plans, including an evening of Celtic music and dance as well as a tour of the Dingle Peninsula. We loved the hotel’s cozy atmosphere, tasteful décor, served breakfast, and delicious dining experience. We did not want to leave!

Yelp
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! The customer service is above and beyond. The rooms are gorgeous! The food is also great. Would come back to Killarney just for this hotel!

Yelp
Our hotel reservation for our two nights in Killarney was at Victoria House. This was a boutique hotel and big enough to not be a B&B. Check in was just a desk by the front door and it was quick and friendly. Someone helped my parents with their bags as their is no lift and their room was up 2 flights of stairs. To the right was a bar area and it also had a patio attached. Right beside reception was the restaurant area where they had a dinner menu every night and breakfast in the mornings. My room was on the ground floor and while the view wasn't much, the room was super cute. First, it had two single beds that were close but not quite together. They were comfortable though so it was all good. The room was decorated in purple and silver in a Victorian style. I loved the color combinations. Beside the closet nook I had a silver dressing table with a big purple cushion. It felt very fancy. It was hard to find plugs but I managed to get the coffee going in the AM. My parents room was bigger and also Victorian in nature but it had a sitting room and what appeared to be an American plug as well. Oh and wifi in rooms. The location is a bit away from the middle of Killarney, so we usually took a cab but if you hadn't already been walking around all day you could totally walk it and many people did. Breakfast had the juices, pastries, cereals, etc. sitting out and then you ordered from a menu if you wanted hot food. You could get the full fry up or just scrambled eggs or even kippers. I got the kippers just to freak my mom out and let my dad taste it. Hehe. After my initial apprehension, I thought it was a really nice and unique hotel. If you don't mind being out of the city center then give this place a try.

Yelp
Lovely hotel. Very nice and quiet. No air conditioning in room and as it was unusually warm, we asked for a fan, which someone promptly brought to our room. Room was spacious. Lighting in bathroom was pretty dim. Typical continental breakfast in nice setting.
