Victoria

"A proper local, with a lived-in feel, especially in the bars; if you’re here to eat head for the conservatory, which overlooks a terrace. The appealing menu offers a good range of dishes and comes with a distinct Mediterranean slant, with Middle Eastern influences never far away." - Michelin Inspector

Went for the Spanish Night and it was a brilliant experience. The menu was excellent, and with the warm weather and outdoor seating, it truly felt like being in Spain. The wine pairing was spot on—both white wines were especially fantastic. Service was, as always, friendly and attentive. Thank you for a great evening!

The staff was lovely and welcoming and the menu was perfect pub fare. We wanted to stay outside of London but still close enough to get there with transit, so this location worked great for us. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay again!

Lovely little pub just tucked away outside Richmond. Just a 20min bus ride from the station. We only had food, so cannot comment on the rooms. It’s got a nice traditional pub vibe to the decor with a lovely conservatory restaurant area. The pub section is dog friendly while the conservatory side was not. The food was so tasty and reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. Pictured is the starters: chargrilled asparagus and ham hock terrine Mains: roast lamb Sunday roast and Duck, ham and white bean pie. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back if in the area again.

Loved our stay! Matthew especially helped us out by giving us a charger for our phones when we realized we had forgotten ours at the last hotel. He also made me his first Cosmopolitan cocktail while the bartender was busy so that I wouldn’t have to wait. He was very thoughtful of us. We will stay here again when visiting our friends in Sheen.

We went for lunch based on the Michelin Guide. It was a decent meal. Not the best we’ve had from the Michelin Guide. We had the sea trout. Oysters were not available. Fried squid. Beef tartare. Pasta. Chicken. Tomato soup and the signature dessert. The starters were great. The sea trout ceviche thing was great. The blood orange in it was very intelligent and added depth of flavour. The fried squid was also top class compared to other calamari. The mains, however, were less memorable and maybe could do with revamping. My instinct is that the Sunday roast is great so we’ll need to go back to compare and review again. The signature dessert I’m sorry to say was okay. I was excited for it and it was okay. But could be improved with some more tart from the apples. And more crunchiness texture. But - I think it’s more of a family recipe so perhaps best not to play around too much with it! They put us in a dog friendly area which was great since we have a nervous dog. And the waitress was so kind and sweet - she was great! Do check it out but perhaps start with a Sunday roast!

I visited the Victoria on Sunday for a roast. I had the veggie roast and it was delicious, by far the best roast I’ve had in a while. The cauliflower & broc cheese was amazing too. The service is brilliant at this pub, a special mention to George, Trent and Matthew! Highly recommend.

We visited The Victoria on the Friday before last for the supper club, and it was a great experience. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming and the food was impressive, made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Highlights for us were the whipped smoked cod roe, and the Sheen Common nettle mash, which was unique and delicious. We also really enjoyed the canapés paired with the Wimbledon Gin & Local Allotment Gooseberry Fizz, a refreshing and delicious cocktail. We’ll definitely be recommending The Victoria to friends and are looking forward to coming back!

Excellent lunch - tried the summer menu rather than the roast dinner which we usually visit for. Absolutely delicious! Always worth a visit.

Yelp
What a great restaurant and hotel. My husband and I stayed here awhile back, and we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel room was always cleaned thoroughly every day we were there. Staff was there to help and answer any questions. The restaurant was also nice as we had fish n chips and salad. The food was delicious, and we were able to go take lie down as soon we were finished. It's a perfect way to end your day!

Yelp
Went for a late afternoon drink with my wife, and the manageress was aggressive and rude. She was unjustifiably impolite, shouting at us as we left. I have no idea what her issues were, but customer service is appalling. I certainly won't be coming back and would advise people to stay away as you risk having your day ruined by a very bad tempered, rude and aggressive manager. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Since its refurbishment, this is a welcome little hideaway near Richmond Park that combines restaurant, pub and hotel. The restaurant is cosy, but manages to take in three separate areas - outside, a light, airy conservatory and a homey interior area by a fireplace. The bar is round the corner and fairly quiet, but serves a few nice beers and wines. Run by a chef, the food here is typically excellent, and there are speciality menus at times, and a credit-crunch dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays. Most of would particularly recommend Saturday brunch.

Yelp
Ahh Qype, how I adore thee. We needed to find a nearby eatery where we could fill our bellies before some geeky 'geocaching' in the park, so I switched on my Qype Radar iPhone app and followed the little dot to this sweet gastropub. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would, but I plumped for three in the end simply because of the prices. Starters were about eight quid a pop, with main courses around the fourteen / fifteen mark. And although the food was delicious and the service was spot on, I think they could have easily knocked a couple of pounds off each dish...or given us slightly bigger portions! Recommended nonetheless, but perhaps more suitable for a special occasion rather than a quick bite to eat.

Yelp
I love this place! Yes, I truly love this place not just for the reason that this was the beautiful inn where my lovely bride and I hosted our wedding reception during what was England's hottest-ever summer since records have been kept. Yes, it was an easy walk down West Temple Sheen from Christ Church where we celebrated our nuptials. The food is really lovely whether brunch, lunch or dinner and the over stuffed chairs whilst swilling down wine and waiting for your table provide a moment of bliss. If after you've had a couple pints at The Plough down the road and are in need of sustenance for the remainder of your day or evening, please, take the little walk through this lovely neighborhood and sup with friends at Victoria Inn.

Yelp
Really good Gastro Pub with the Food looked after by Paul Merrick ex Michellin star. The bar is unpretentious with nice decor and seperate restaurant area out the back. Feel relaxed and always well looked after with a very strong food offering. Saturday brunch is good.

Yelp
Really good pub for lunch or dinner. It was done up a few years ago and has become much more of a gastropub instead of an old mans pub- gaining some charm for me. Food is meant to be excellent - I have only ever heard good things. I am aware that it is not pub prices - it is a tad more expensive. Nice seating area outside and again a nice place to go and relax on a summer evening with friends.

Yelp
Great food but pricey. A bit yummy mummy with kids running round during the day at the weekend particularly at brunch times. Very nice place though and the restaurant is lovely for a special occassion.
