THE VIEW Lugano, an SLH Hotel

One of the best hotels we have stayed in our life time! From the first minute till the checking out, everything was wonderful. The borrowing of their electric Smart cars to drive in the area, the bottle of water in the room, the bottle of water to take with you during the day the service was mind blowing goor. The breakfast was incredible and the rooms were 100% clean every day. Don't hesitate: Book this hotel!

This was simply an excellent stay! The junior suites are incredible with the view of Lugano living up to the name of the hotel. The balcony was spacious and having complimentary breakfast room service was excellent. The staff were so incredibly friendly, personable, and helpful. The complimentary electric Smart cars for getting around town were also an incredible boon.

Super disappointing experience at The View Spa. Booked an 80’ massage and knew very soon into the treatment that I wanted to leave. The professional massage techniques I am familiar with use slow, deliberate strokes and target specific muscle groups. My masseuse used rapid, unfocused movements across the entire area of my back which was irritating to my skin and was not relaxing at all. I expect a trained masseuse to massage one area at a time which she was not doing. I’m non-confrontational, especially in vulnerable situations like lying on a massage table, so I waited as long as I could stand before finally excusing myself to the restroom. I didn’t want to disturb my partner’s massage by creating a scene so I told them that I was having a reaction to the massage oil but it turns out my partner was also having an awful time and excused herself a few minutes later. The masseuse was also doing double duty as the receptionist and spa attendant which was very weird and reinforced my belief that she is not a trained masseuse. The sauna and steam room facilities were fine but I likely would not have booked it if I had realized it was an additional 30 CHF per person. I’ve never been to a 5 star hotel spa that doesn’t offer that access for free with a treatment. That space is booked privately for you so that’s nice. It’s also clean and in good condition probably because it doesn’t see a ton of traffic. The locker room is exceptionally small (like three people barely fit at once small) and they don’t provide the kinds of basic amenities I’m used to at spa inside a 5 star hotel (razors, lotion, tampons). Really disappointing and awkward experience.

Friendly staff and environment. Very clean. Amazing view, the hotel is located on top of the mountain where we can see the lake the city. Very magical especially at night. Food and drink are delicious. Electric cars available to discover the town for free. Rooms and Bathrooms are spacious. Staff speak excellent English French and Italian I would stay again in the view for sure next time.

I have juste been at the restaurant. Grat place. Beautiful view of Lugano city, the incredible lake nad the mountains. Nice and quiet ambient. Very good food, really high quality. Impecable attention. Perfect for a special ocasion. Of course, be ready to pay over 100 CHF/person. But is worthy.

We came for an 80 minute massage and spa session. My partner and I only lasted in the massage for an hour - my partner (who has no allergies) had a reaction to the lotion. However we decided to both stop because the massages were poor. We both get massages regularly and we would have to say these were the worst we have both had. Maybe they are not properly trained? We felt like they have minimal technique. At one point my masseuse had such terrible pressure on my leg, I jumped in pain and told her she had hurt me. They ended up charging us just for the hour which we appreciated. However when I told them the massages were not very good - the we were met with attitude. We left in a poor state. Spa is average. One of the showers seemed to not work. Disappointed :/

Excellent service and a wonderful hotel. I would highly recommend. Really nice rooms, with very comfortable bed. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming and go above and beyond to help you. A really special stay.

You can’t find a better location or view in a 5 star hotel than this place. High tech iPads to deal with automatic room control including curtains, attentive staff , free Smart car rentals for exploring. Quiet area. Just amazing all around.
