THE VIEW

"At this restaurant, Diego Della Schiava creates beautifully presented cuisine that is truly a feast for the eyes! This chef’s philosophy focuses on seasonal ingredients, which he transforms into Mediterranean and Swiss dishes with an equal emphasis on meat and fish, including highlights such as the delicious scallop tartare with sesame oil, nasturtiums and porcini mushroom puff. In fine weather, we recommend booking a table on the spacious terrace to enjoy its stunning views of Lugano and the lake." - Michelin Inspector

We spent three nights at The View Lugano at the end of our two-week Europe trip, and it was truly one of the most spectacular hotels I’ve ever stayed in—if not the most spectacular. The hotel is perfectly named: it sits high on a hill overlooking the stunning Lake Lugano, and the moment we stepped onto our balcony at sunset, the view literally brought my wife to tears.||The town itself is charming, intimate, and beautifully quaint—much smaller and more peaceful than Lake Como, which we had also considered for this part of our trip. Choosing Lugano was absolutely the right call.||Everything at The View Lugano was exceptional. Breakfast was outstanding, the on-site restaurant was fantastic, and the hotel offers a Michelin-starred tasting-menu experience that was unforgettable. Another amazing touch: guests can use complimentary electric cars and smart cars to explore the town. We used them multiple times for dinners and shopping trips, and it made getting around both fun and convenient.||The entire property has an incredibly romantic atmosphere, making it the perfect way to end our travels across several countries. We left feeling relaxed, connected, and already dreaming of coming back.||I cannot recommend The View Lugano highly enough.

Hilton Diamond Member Review – Excellent Stay, Though Slightly Past Its Prime As a Hilton Diamond member traveling during the low season, I was warmly greeted by Giacomo, a terrific hotel ambassador who truly set the bar for hospitality. Unfortunately, most of the other staff did not quite share his level of service—pleasant overall, but not what I’d typically expect from a hotel of this caliber. The courtesy cars and bicycles were a wonderful touch and very convenient; though I imagine availability could be more limited during high season. The food and restaurant service were excellent, and a tall, thin blonde lady (whose name I regret forgetting) stood out for her attentiveness and professionalism—matching Giacomo’s high standard. Our premium room offered a spectacular view, and the housekeeping team was exceptional throughout our stay. The private spa treatment was also a highlight—relaxing and well executed. Overall, this was an excellent experience and a property I would recommend, though it does feel like the hotel’s best days may be behind it. A light refresh could really elevate the guest experience back to a true SLH (Small Luxury Hotels) standard. Highly recommended—just not at a rate of $3,000 USD per night.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The View was was truly incredible. The staff was very attentive and showed us around. Their food was great. We enjoyed lunch at the restaurant but honestly we had room service for dinner because our View was so amazing. It was even better than the restaurant, plus we could wear our robes and slippers! We will absolutely be back!!! Also, we loved the tablet controlled blinds, so we could lay in bed with the best view and then with the press of a button close our blinds and get full dark! It was amazing!

I had a wonderful experience at The View Lugano Spa with Monica. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing from the start. My massage was fantastic—she has a great technique that melts away tension while keeping you completely comfortable. The facial afterward was just as amazing, with high-quality products that left my skin glowing. Monica is skilled, attentive, and makes the whole experience feel personalized. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Lugano!

I recently had an extraordinary experience at the hotel. The manager, Chadi, provided an exceptional level of service that surpassed my expectations. The staff was incredibly cooperative and attentive, contributing to a serene and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained, with outstanding services throughout my stay. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Chadi for his warm welcome and excellent hospitality.

This hotel has absolutely incredible views of the lake from the top of the hill! The rooms are ultra modern and the staff is very helpful. The hotel's location is a drive from the town of Lugano. It's not walkable to any other restaurants or sight seeing. However, the rentals of the electric smart cars are awesome and convenient to use. There is also free parking if you bring your own vehicle. The Michelin restaurant at the hotel had amazing food for dinner. The included breakfast in the morning was great as well! The spa facilities were top notch. Extremely clean and luxurious. I wish I was able to spend more time there. Would love to stay here again. Thanks to the staff at the View!

The View is aptly named. Probably the most stunning view I've ever had at a hotel. The room was very spacious and impecable, just as appears on the website. The hotel breakfast was wonderful, and I've had a lot of them. Be aware, this hotel is about a 35 minute walk from the center of Lugano, which some fail to mention. There's a city bus you can catch that cuts it down to 15 minutes. However, the hotel is situated up a very steep hill, which you have to climb to get to the bus stop. This was ok as we are young and fit, but would be a problem for small children or older adults. Even for us, the climb each day was exhausting and I chose to limit how many times I went back and forth to the hotel because of this. It was also June and close to 90 degrees, so that didn't help. We did not try out the bikes, as I'm not adept enough of a rider to deal with the steep hills so that is something to be aware of too if you're thinking you want to use the available ebikes. All in all, the price was exorbitant, and although the stay was excellent, I probably would not choose this property again due to the climb to get back and forth. Finally, the spa facilities and indoor pool were nice. I think having an outdoor pool would have been even better though.
