"Tall and dark, the Views towers conspicuously over Funchal, Madeira’s main urban center. Rooms are sleek and feel contemporary, with balconies that boast those eponymous glimpses. The hotel is home to Desarma, one of the island’s most forward-thinking restaurants, and it’s in a convenient location just a brief walk from Funchal’s historic city center." - Austin Bush

A great hotel. From first impression to check out, everything was as expected. It was immaculately clean, the pool and spa were excellent. The walk to the sea front was a pleasant 20 minutes, passing some interesting little shops. The staff were always friendly and very helpful and polite. We must mention one particular member of the Housekeeping team (unfortunately I cannot remember her name), who was absolutely delightful, and went the extra mile, by making decorations on our bed made out of towels....it really did make the stay just that little bit special, and I'm sure it was something that she did not have to do. The breakfasts were great, almost everything one would want. (We only booked B & B). Overall, a great hotel, on a beautiful island.

We loved our week at The Views. Our room was a deluxe sea view and it didnt disappoint. Super size, very clean and a lovely waterfall shower in the bathroom. We opted not to have our room cleaned everyday and loved the fact that this green initiative was added as a credit to our final bill. Breakfast was good in terms of both service and selection and waiting staff were very attentive. Swimming pool and Spa also great and would highly recommend. Finally, the Reception staff at check-in / check-out were were welcoming and friendly.

I would most definitely return to this hotel. The location was perfect for us as it was very quiet. It was 20 min walk to cable car and just 15 min walk down to the promenade. The hill back up was a killer. Cabs were reasonable so we used them daily. Staff were very attentive. Food at the pool bar was excellent. There was lots of choice at breakfast but unfortunately the cooked food wasn't kept at a hot temperature. Plates weren't kept hot so by the time u got back to ur table breakfast was bordering on cold. This is my only criticism. The pool was lovely size. The spa was amazing and so lucky to have this at the hotel.| Bruno bar manager stood out from the rest by giving us lots of attention and was able to give us lots of recommendations on places to eat.

The hotel is located on a cliff, just a short walk from the center of Funchal. The views from the hotel are excellent — overlooking the sea, the city, and the mountains. A busy road runs next to the hotel. Our room was a suite with views of both the mountains and the ocean. The room was tastefully decorated, and we were very happy with our choice. The hotel restaurant also offered stunning views of the city and the sea.||Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were varied and delicious.||The pool area was small, but more than sufficient for us. The spa area, and especially the sauna, was a wonderful place to relax after our hiking days. Everything was great — except the hotel slippers, which still have a thing or two to learn from their Finnish cousins!||The service was generally good and friendly.

Hotel is located 10-15 mins walk to the promenade, shops etc. Steady uphill return walk. Stunning views. Lovely room and huge comfy bed. Food was generally good, although always the same for breakfast and water was never hot for the tea..Pool lovely and clean. Gorgeous spa. Small grumbles, lack of attention to detail ie/ refilling coffee & teas, no dressing gown in room and inconsistent room cleaning. I stayed Deluxe for the week, not sure if it was always deluxe? Friendly staff, always keen to help.

A lovely hotel located near to the centre of Funchal while still being quiet with sweeping views of the town and coast. A special thank you to Francisco in the restaurant who was so kind to me! My room was very spacious and comfortable, the only downside was the "balcony" which looked nothing like any of the photos on the website, and was more of a box with one wall missing than a balcony, and not pleasant to spend any time on (see photo attached). Breakfast and dinners both very good, although not much variation night-to-night despite "themes". I particularly liked the solarium on the third floor which tended to be very quiet compared to the pool while still offering a place to sunbathe. Spa and gym facilities also good, if a little worn out. I didn't spend much time in the cocktail lounge as drinks were fine but nothing exciting and music a little uninspiring. My only two real issues during my stay were with the packages. For the beverages package with dinner, there was constantly confusion with the waiters about what I was entitled to and sometimes they had me signing things and sometimes not. It would be really helpful if this is smoothed out as it caused unnecessary confusion for everyone. I also paid for the birthday package as a friend wanted to treat me to it and this was the biggest waste of money: 35€ for a bottle of sparkling wine delivered to my room. The same sparkling wine that is available everyday as part of the breakfast buffet. The price of the package either needs to be drastically lowered, more benefits added, or—at the very least—transparancency about what you're paying for, because it's a bit of a scam as is. Overall, a lovely stay and good value for money, aside from what I mentioned above.

Perfect for four night break for friends 'special' birthday. Plenty to see in town and around the Island. Booked Bolt cars for our trips. The hotel is up a steep roads from town so need to be fairly fit or get taxis.|Lovely clean hotal and Spa, great food and cocktail bar. Loved the breakfast buffets. Very spacious with lovely friendly/helpful staff. Complimentary bottle of Madeira wine in bedrooms on arrival.

The hotel itself is good. I’m not what I would call a fussy guest. My only asks are a comfortable bed, hot shower and relatively quiet. The hotel offered all of these. |We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis so never sampled the evening meals. |Breakfast was ok. Very much typical European all inclusive. Watery scrambled eggs and weird sausages. Plenty of cereal or toast and the overnight oats were good. I’d give the food a 6 out of 10. |The only thing I didn’t like was the tiered system for where you get to sit, based on how much you pay for your room. If you want a table with a good view in the window, you have to have paid for a room upgrade. Whilst I understand the thought process behind this, it causes division between guests, is outdated and could be embarrassing if you aren’t aware and sit down. Imagine being shoo’d away as a standard room peasant? I’d have to check out!|Not sure if we were unlucky with the weather or it’s the positioning of the clouds. No sun in the 3 days we were there. Constantly overcast. So don’t assume it will be perfect sunshine. |Having said that, didn’t stop us from doing any of our plans. Other guests mostly older or younger couples. All respectful. No problems with sun loungers, but then there was no sun!

Yelp
really nice place to stay. indoor pool is amazing. staff is nice (except wait staff). i see that buffet has pros and cons...like a cruise but they could warm food better. lots of entertainment and places to rest in the sun. dinner isn't served till7:30... so no one eats lunch on this island, just expresso and pastries. uber eats comes here in minutes....so don't worry.

Yelp
Staying In beautiful Funchal for a month to learn a new software package. I chose the Four Views Hotel for its looks and magnificent views of the Harbour. My room is large by many hotel standards being on the eighth floor with a sea view (supplement extra) its the perfect place to work and relax. The hotel has I very high standard being clean and well maintained. I'm room and breakfast, the breakfast buffet is excellent. I've also enjoyed to pool area restaurant where they serve delicious sizzling platters they have a veggi option too. Great Hotel highly recommended, friendly staff too.
