I bought the ticket on the spot. When I arrived, a guy dressed in a viking-age outfit was finishing explaining about those ages to a group. I liked it, it is interesting, it explains many things, and there are guys in costume ready to explain you more. There is also a "story-ride", very well-made. At the end there is a small shop area and the typical swedish restaurant. I bought a Loki card (my fave 😜) and a copy of one of the first viking coins. The shopguy explained me about that coin, thing I appreciated. Then I had lunch at the restaurant (typical meat balls dish, and oysters). Oysters were perfect! Very soft and no "sea" taste or smell. Just perfect!!

We enjoyed the museum about Vikings and their life. Museum is very informative with free guided tour. Warn you: take the chair and sit and listen to the guide because it is for 25 min. Museum also has a corner with props to dress up in, it has a small ride and most importantly a nice game on Rune’s for kids. It makes the kids hunt for clues. I like interactive museums and this one surely hit the spot.

Relatively small museum. It takes less than one hour to visit all. The representation of a locals life in antient time is impressive. You take a car ride by a road watching and listening the story, very nice. The restaurant of the museum has a charming view of the seafront/marine. The entrance is free with the daily go city pass card. If you don't have the card, you might not give extra entrance fee for this museum.

I absolutely loved The Viking Museum! It’s a very well-designed and engaging experience from start to finish. The exhibitions are informative and visually impressive, offering a great mix of history, artifacts, and interactive elements. One of the highlights for me was how the museum brings the Viking era to life — not just through traditional displays, but also through storytelling, multimedia, and even a ride that makes the visit even more immersive and fun. Whether you're a history buff or just curious about Viking culture, this museum is definitely worth a visit. I left with a much deeper appreciation for the Viking legacy. Highly recommended!

The Viking Museum is truly a unique attraction in Sweden. It showcases wooden Viking ships from the 9th century, along with various artifacts unearthed from burial sites. A full visit takes around 1 to 2 hours. The guide was excellent, vividly bringing Viking history to life. The interactive ride at the end is a highlight and well worth the admission on its own.

Great museum to visit if you want to know more about Vikings! At first I was afraid it would be kind of a made up thing for tourists but I was really glad of going! You learn about their mithology, the day to day life and also a lot of history. Great museum to visit!!!

Great museum! The staff are very kind and happy to inform guests and answer any questions. They have guided tours, and the interactive screens are also really great to learn about the Vikings, their different roles in their society, and their myths. The artifacts are great, and I especially loved that quite a few were interactive. You can also learn how to write your name using the Futhark runes with the help of one of the many kind employees. Since I was a solo traveler, I asked one of the guides to take a picture of me on the throne, and she gladly did and also lent me her axe replica! It was really fun. The ride on the bottom floor was also very charming. The gift shop had many great things, and the kind young man behind the counter was happy to explain what some of the pendants represented before I purchased them. I would definitely recommend the museum to anyone who wants to learn about the Vikings! I also recommend doing the mead tasting at their restaurant ✨️

Had a lovely experience! The guides are very knowledgeable and chatty, they know a lot and are interesting and funny! There is also an historical ride that tells you a story that was very nice! They also have food! And it's much better than what you would expect from such a place, but it follows a common thing, they love doing what they do and they do it with love!

Yelp
Beautiful, informative museum. Not too many artifacts, but overall a great look into Viking life. The ride on the first floor was fun and told the tale of family. I never knew Vikings had slaves! Great for kids.

Yelp
The museum is small but informative. I went to the viking story ride on the first floor which entails being put in a car and driving through several displays of a viking adventure which I was a big fan of. The second floor gave me some insight of what a true viking was. I only wish that the museum was bigger and it had more artifacts.
