One of the best places to relax and just enjoy the fireside for FREE and lots of places to eat. Flora has music on weekdays I was there on a Thursday and it felt so good to be a tourist in your own city. Definitely visit it again👍

Super fancy place, great views and friendly people, I can't afford a house there though..

Google
Lucked out. With Santa Anas blowing and temp around 80, most people must be at the beach! There were only 2 people in line in front of me to get into Trader Joe's, not bad for a pandemic Sunday at lunch time! Edit July 2025: no more pandemic, and lots more dinning options here now 😀

Yelp
We spent the afternoon walking around. This outdoor shopping center is larger than what it seems. There are such a variety of shops for everyone. More upscale stores. There is a play structure for the kids, movie theatre and lots of eateries to chill and relax those feet. Lots of parking but it can be quite busy so prepare.

Yelp
As always, PHR does not disappoint. The only thing, I don't ever recall seeing posters or getting some type of newsletter, but I haven't always come around when the event is happening, which is always a nice surprise. Some of the shops were participating, performers in different sections of the plaza, got some cookies from Jersey Mike's which were delicious and warm. Got to enjoy some lovely music and see Santa take pictures and be around a lot of people that were in the holiday spirit lovel

Yelp
This plaza is clean and beautiful! Lots of great stores and restaurants! It gets busy with the high school near by during lunch so expect to possibly wait.

Yelp
Marbella meets the Bay Area and have a love child in San Diego. That is what I thought when, by pure coincidence, I found this 'new hood to me' residential/shopping center. I recently moved to SD after some (long) years in the Bay Area. I was used to see this type of apartment complexes (supposedly upscale) with some shopping and a few restaurants. Similar concept for young pet parents with tech jobs. Only that in this area of SD looks less techie, more chill, amazing sunset from one side and the nivea white of the facades in the buildings brings you immediately to a vacation time in the south of Spain. I found this Village pretty looking, amazing by the palm trees and the said sunset. I was on my way home from the corporate gym that I use now and did not want to take the freeway, and I am happy I did because I plan to go often and try all the restaurants and just enjoy walking there or just people watch. the Trader's joe is a must for me, but I will leave it for another day. So far, excellent first impression.

Yelp
I have been going to this gym since 2016, and I must admit I wouldn't be where I am today at the peak of my mental and physical health, if it wasn't for extraordinary services available and the phenomenal people at work here.

Yelp
I really like the design concept of the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch. It has the feel of a center of town with shops, banks, professional services, and restaurants fronting on streets with on-street parking. Two parking lots sit behind the retail establishments, and there is a parking garage. A Trader Joe's and a Rite Aid anchor the center on the western edge -- both favorites of ours. The Village also has several dine-in and take-out restaurants that we like, and a very convenient Wells Fargo branch.

Yelp
I really do still love this shopping center...even though we have one paseo (which is closer to my home)... Trader Joe's is a gift for our community. although there has been a few shifts in restaurants...i like that..keeps it exciting! we are loving the happy hour at madero's! looking forward to westroot finalizing their transition to the new spot. so many cute gift shops...my daughter loves the perfect pinapple and urban beach girl (i think that's what it's called) parking is great now that the garages are done...and it looks like one more is about to open up! looking forward to the new construction...i'm sure something fun and exciting will open up!

Yelp
This Village was a fun addition to this neighborhood. Trader Joes has been a success as has Starbucks. I've visited almost every eatery in this village (Crudo, Dolce, Westroot, Panera, Starbucks). Most of the (expensive) restaurants offer Happy Hour. I think Westroot's HH is only until 5p now. Crudo seems to be suffering as the beautiful restaurant always seems empty (we visited for HH two weeks ago). I know a few people who attend Crunch gym and they all enjoy the workouts there. Not to mention it's affordable for this part of town too. Parking can be an issue during peak hours. I'm not a fan of the parking as they need to add more stop signs/lines between the lanes that intersect one another (hard to explain unless you drive from the WFB to Trader Joes and almost get hit by another car who didn't stop to look between lanes). Another issue is the massive influx of crowds before neighboring high schools attend/get let out of class(es). It's just sheer madness at Starbucks and Panera. Good luck getting a coffee if you're in a hurry with the line out the door. I hope to try Wokou and Breakfast Republic soon.

Yelp
Overall 3.75 stars, mainly due to location and they have TJ's. Located in the heart of Carmel Valley, I love their location, as it's 3.5 miles from home. But man, they need some useful shops. It's all high priced clothing stores and overpriced fancy schmancy restaurants. I know, it's CV, but it would be nice to have some practical shops here. Other than Crunch and Trader Joe's, I don't ever come here. When the economy heads south, so will this center, as I don't see how they can sustain themselves. I wish there was a thai restaurant here. And some ClassPass studios, that would quickly bump up my rating! I will say though, it is a very clean, beautiful shopping center. +1.5 close to home +1.5 Crunch Fitness +1.5 TJ's +.5 clean -1.25 need more practical shops Not a fan of the limited dining options here (unless indicated, I haven't tried: they have Crudo (high priced "mediterranean", Westroot (high priced bar food), Luna Grill (see my review- enough said), Dolce (italian), Panera, soon opening a pizza place, and for desserts they have Baked Bear & Nothing Bundt Cakes. Also a Starbucks & Vitality Tap.

Yelp
Love the neighborhood. Such a small community where the kids run free and play in the streets, run to the neighbors alone and you feel safe. Community pool with is massive and nice. A gym and water area for small kids. Rent it out for an event. The new school is walking distance for the whole community and is fantastic. We actually lost our old principal whom we loved to this Solana Ranch school. They are lucky to have Mr. Jones.

Yelp
2.5 stars overall. 3.5 stars for the shopping. I think the property managers could do a better job bringing in some better business and creating a place that business could flourish. Seems like maybe rent is on the high side and the promotion of the businesses isn't great by the center. 1 star for the lame WiFi situation. How is it possible that a shopping center in this day and age has any dead spots where cell phones can't even roam?! Faulty design? Mistake by the architects and builders. I'd be pretty upset if I was a tenant and buyer beware if you plan on renting in those new "luxury" apartments.

Yelp
OK - So this shopping center is relatively new. Yes at 8am and 3pm it is taken over by school students but that is what happens when you have 2 high schools and 1 middle school within walking distance. Can't be helped. I think the parking lot is tight at the moment because they have not finished the second development to the north, once that is done and more shops are added the parking lot will become more bearable as double the parking will be added and A LOT of people do not know that they have opened up covered parking in the back - 4 levels of it. So if you just go straight to the back and park your experience will be so much better. I love all the restaurants and shops they have so close by. I literally never drive my car anymore as most of my needs are met by the shops within this plaza. I live within walking distance so that helps of course. I can't wait to see what this plaza will be like once the final phase is complete.

Yelp
Upscale looking shopping /residential development with a Trader Joe's and a lot of smaller businesses such as The Baked Bear. We shop here regularly.

Yelp
I'm so excited about this new shopping center. There's a large variety of shops here- Trader Joe's, Rite Aid, restaurants, specialty desserts, basically anything you could want in a shopping center. There's plenty of parking, and the visual appeal of the buildings fits in nicely with the surrounding neighborhoods. With all the houses being built in the area this development is a wonderful addition!

Yelp
Im very disappointed, I saw this great ad on yelp, the shopping center was promoting having an ice skating rink for charity there for two days. Entry by bringing an unwrapped toy per person, or by providing a receipt showing that you shopped there. I thought what a great idea, ice skating and doing something charitable, two birds with one stone. I even looked it up on their official website, all was confirmed, they have ice skating. What a weird name for a giant piece of plastic with a barn fence around it. There was no ice, which is one of the two major components of ice skating. The other component is skating. The skates were all broken, absolutely ancient, with torn and dirty shoe laces instead of plastic fasteners. They absolutely did not fit or adhere to a human foot. Also, the event was promoted as ice skating for all ages. When I provided my receipt showing I shopped enough for 3 entries and asked for 2 adult pairs of skates because my boyfriend was joining my son and I, the attendant looked at me like I was speaking a different language. He confirmed "You mean you guys also want to skate?" Only after I got our skates and looked at the rink did I realize that no self respecting adult would get on this thing. And while I was sitting on the bench, waiting for my son to pretend-skate on this pathetic surface, I ended up with 2 splinters in my butt from this make-shift peace of wood bench. I had to find a restroom to take off my leggings and fish for 2 splinters in my butt cheek. Absolutely ghetto scenario, I am so upset we drove all the way there.....luckily, it was for charity, but could've at least called it faux ice skating, why mislead people?

Yelp
Last weekend My husband, two sons, and I took my sister-in-law and three of our nieces to the Baked Bear at Pacific Highlands Ranch while they were in California visiting. My youngest son (3 years old) had brought his lovie, this little penguin that I bought him when he was itty bitty. He named it Peso, and has loved it more than most of his other toys. After we finished our ice cream my husband was playing around with the boys, throwing Peso up in the air. One of those times he accidentally threw it higher than he meant to, and Peso landed on the roof of the Baked Bear. Uh oh! My little guy was so sad, but it was late- past bed time- and we couldn't find anyone to help us. We took the boys home and my husband went back with a flashlight and a rope, hoping to knock Peso free. He didn't have any luck. My husband promised our son a "new Peso." He seemed okay with it, but the more days that went by, the more he asked for "the real Peso" back. I went by the Pacific Highlands Ranch shopping center today to buy something and my little guy looked up and said, "Mommy! There is Peso!" Sure enough, there he was, still on the roof of the Baked Bear. He started to cry, asking for him back. I looked around and didn't immediately see anyone to help us, so I popped into a store called Mabel's and asked the incredibly sweet saleswoman for help. Her name is Julie. She put me in touch with one of the owners of the complex, named Derrick. Derrick came and was so kind. He told me that he had 3 kids of his own, and understood the importance of a lovie. He told me to give him a little while to locate a ladder that was tall enough, and he would see what he could do. I gave him my phone number and he called me a few hours later. He got Peso down! He left Peso with Julie at Mabel's for safe keeping, and we swung by a little later to get him. Our son is THRILLED to have Peso back. Julie even wrote a note to my son from Peso, telling him how much he missed him, and was so glad to be going home with him. Seriously, just the sweetest people! If you are ever in the area, stop into Mabel's and give them some business. She went over and above to help us, and she has some really adorable clothes for sale too!
