Silverlake Ramen Coming to Kirkland’s Village at Totem Lake, with Four Other Restaurants | Eater Seattle

"Kirkland's Village at Totem Lake shopping center recently announced that five new restaurants will arrive this fall and winter, including an outpost of popular California-based Silverlake Ramen, an upscale Korean barbecue called ShabuGen from the same team in winter 2021, a new location of Capitol Hill Italian spot Due Cucina, a branch of the gastropub chain Stack 571 Burger & Whiskey Bar, and a Panda Express." - Gabe Guarente

It’s honestly ridiculous how developers cram 4,000 apartments into a 10-acre area and then squeeze in 150 shopping centers right alongside them — all without proper access to any major highways or freeways. Instead, they dump all that traffic onto tiny little streets like the ones you’d find in Kirkland, where the roads were never designed to handle this many cars. The parking lots are just as bad. The spots are so small you can barely fit a compact car, let alone anything bigger. Trying to drive around or park here is incredibly frustrating. It feels like nobody thought ahead about what happens when you flood an already small area with thousands and thousands more people and cars. Honestly, it should be illegal to design parking this badly. They clearly prioritized cramming in as much as possible without thinking about basic functionality. This place used to actually be decent about 20–23 years ago, when it was quieter and less crowded.

I live in one of the apartments here and am enjoying it far too much. My lease is up in June and it will be time to grow up and start being a responsible homeowner again. The restaurants and shopping make life very convenient and comfortable. Freeway access is less than 5 minutes from the time I close my front door. Highly recommended for a place to live.

A nicely developed shopping center in Kirkland right off the 405 freeway with a lot of great stores such as Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom Rack, Trader Joe's, a Cinemark Movie Theater, various restaurants and many other stores. It's a great place to spend the day or a night out watching a movie and grabbing some dinner. It does get very busy so parking can be a little tough. Overall, it's a 5 star rating for me and definitely a place to check out.

05/28/23: I would say It is not a very big mall but it has some famous brands in the area. I found there are Trader’s Joe, Whole Foods Market, B&N, etc. The atmosphere is amazing and chilling. There are tons of parking lots, both underground and outside. I enjoyed my time being here

I love shopping here. It’s so much better than the old Totem Lake Mall. I can go to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods in one stop. There are also a lot of clothes stores, including Nordstrom rack.

The Ross and Nordstrom Rack are great. Lots of high end items at reasonable prices. Various shops to explore and restaurants to try. You could spend a day going throughout the whole area.

Nice area. It’s out of the city of Seattle and that’s always a nice break to take. A lot of family activity. It’s cute to see all the family’s and kids having such a great time. Oh to be a kid again.
