10 New Summer Restaurant Openings In The Hamptons 2024 - New York - The Infatuation

"Village Bistro comes to East Hampton from the food team behind Sí Sí, so we have high expectations for this year-round French spot. Dig into traditional French dishes like steak frites, garlicky escargot, and croque monsieur while you discuss how a weekend in the Hamptons costs just as much as a trip to Europe." - anne cruz

I liked eating at this restaurant because of their attentive service as well as the French styled aesthetic. However the food was in my opinion good but not great. The restaurant is situated on the main street in E. Haddam. It's a lovely spot with outdoor and indoor seating. The bar inside looked lovely, they had copper tabletops and a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere. My complaint with the food was that the burger was too thick and lacked seasoning. Personally, I think a thinner burger is tastier and the patty could have been improved with a good seasoning salt. The other aspects of the burger were fine though. The duck Benedict could have been improved by not overcooking the duck. I noticed that the duck was dry and a bit tough. However the bread and the eggs were excellent. The eggs on both the burger and the Benedict were perfectly cooked, they were runny and tasted great. The potatoes on the Benedict were tasty and savory. They had a good seasoning on them that made them stand out on the plate. Overall, I think I would come back here if I was in the area since I liked the atmosphere and would like to give the food another chance. Their cocktail menu also looked enticing, and I would like to try out their drinks in the future.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND ... 1st time here. Atmosphere, service, food, and overall experience A+++. Our server, Ian, was welcoming, friendly, professional, and on point along with all wait staff. Definitely a positive experience and we will be back soon. Parking tip: although limited, if you circle the center a couple times, you'll find a good spot 😉 if not, the public parking around the corner is a nice walk. Everything we ordered was amazing. My swordfish was perfect! The cauliflower appetizer was very flavorful. The beautiful plates, all different patterned china, was beautiful and a quaint touch. We highly recommend the visit.

Chelsey does it right. Ambiance, staff/service, food quality/quantity, and pricing. Brunch, happy hour, dinner...everything excellent. With so many mediocre restaurants out there, Village Bistro makes dining out truly special. And...Chelsey makes the most creative delicious drinks! Thank you for a consistently excellent experience!

Google
My friend and I had a phenomenal time at brunch here. The restaurant is gorgeous, the staff are doting, and the food was outstanding. I had been here once before with a different friend, but wasn't in a place where I could afford more than soup and bread. I am so thankful I came back when I had saved up a bit of money so I could enjoy a full meal and drink. I guarantee no matter what you order you will be impressed. Their menu is kinda small which allows them to perfect everything they offer.

Google
This is a beautifully quaint restaurant in a quintessential New England town. The rating is bases on total experience. The brunch was good, the cocktails were really tasty and the atmosphere was just lovely, a perfect combination. The french onion soup was one of the best I have had, deep flavor, not too salty and almost every bite had some bread and cheese. Grits needed a touch of salt but had a nice bite. Quiche was creamy and rich and the pickled veg on the salad were a nice contrast. Turkish eggs were also very good. Lemon dessert had a beautiful presentation and was creamy tart and not too sweet, pretty perfect dessert.

Google
The owner Chelsey was warm and inviting. The ambiance was incredible. The service was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The homemade tiramisu was the best I have had in a very long time. We will definitely be coming back!

Google
Incredible dinner on the patio at The Village Bistro. Everything we tried was better than the last! Especially loved the Crispy Chicken Bao, French Onion Soup, Roasted Carrots and Gnocchi. Staff was great and their patio is dog friendly. We'll definitely be back and need to try their brunch!

Google
Absolutely love this place! The ambiance is super romantic and the food is always delicious. Staff is great - understands the food, attentive, and responsive. Not a Michelin star but the best for a romantic evening and a great cocktail

Yelp
Great food, ambience and service. Owner Chelsea is fabulous, and is very creative. We love this place.

Yelp
Parking: none, street but if that is full there is a cemetery and post office 1/2 block away. The street is so cute, something out of old world charm or a movie Decor: very unique, almost posh but something else, let's say upscale cozy Staff: dialed in and friendly, great with recommendations and there for you if you need something, I missed my servers name but the receipt says Yuliya. She was nothing short of perfection s as nd working the entire front by herself!! Food: everything was tasty, a little more kick in spice in every dish even the vodka rigatoni had an after bite. I didn't take away a star, but I personally look forward to the after taste of the food rather than a kick. Price: about average with the amount of apps and food we got with wine too! Overall: I would go back but once you see the street, I want to try them all!!

Yelp
I've come here a few times now and can easily rave about how amazing Village Bistro is. The cozy, romantic atmosphere sets the perfect tone to celebrate any special occasion. We recently came to celebrate a birthday and they made our experience so perfect. From the Happy Birthday sign on the table, to Tirzah's 5 star service and obviously the food -- we left happy and full! Highly recommend the boule, with seasonal butter, the rigatoni, and the pad Thai was a hit too!
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
Cute place, cute town. Perfect fall day for a ride / visit. We went for brunch, started with the boule and flavored butter. Perfectly crisp and crunchy outside, soft inside. Then had the onion soup. Good thyme flavor. Wish the onions had been caramelized longer, and wish the broth was more flavorful. And it was ok. We tried the biscuits and gravy and duck eggs Benedict. Both were ok. The biscuit was hard almost like a biscotti not what we expected. I would say have the libations and enjoy. We will come back around the Dec holidays.

Yelp
WOW! This may be my favorite dining experience of 2024. Such an incredible meal, friendly staff and a dog friendly outdoor patio, right on Main Street in Chester. We have been meaning to visit for quite some time and getting a gift card over the holidays was the perfect push we needed. We ordered a little bit of everything as we had a party of 3 and wanted to share! The Sourdough Boule was the perfect starter and arrived at our table piping hot! The house butter was perfect and seems like it rotates based on the day/time of year. Our favorite appetizer had to be the Crispy Bao Buns - they were perfectly crispy and paired with a tasty buttermilk dressing. However, the French Onion Soup was my personal star of the show. I think it was the best French Onion Soup I've had to date, and I loved that it was served in a more shallow bowl for optimal cheese coverage. The Ricotta Gnocchi was a perfect entree and great for sharing. The Village Burger was also delicious and a little more affordable too. My mom couldn't stop talking about the Roasted Carrots as well. 10/10 dining experience and definitely a good spot to bring someone you want to impress. There wasnt anything we tried that we didn't like. I loved all the mismatched tableware and "tea party" vibe. Such a cute place and great first visit. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Adorable little date spot with copper-tin tabletops and dripping candles and a pretty good French onion soup and tuna nacho bites. The food itself isn't anything to rave about but the place itself is romantic and dramatic and adorable.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a beautiful spot. Wonderful setting exudes comfort. Drinks were made to perfection. I had one of the the best French onion soups I have ever had! Amazing place.

Ami P.

Yelp
Overall it was okay. Definitely could have been our fault for eating outside (we had a dog). The ambiance inside looked very cute. We got a few small plates/apps. The French onion soup was a little watery and not that flavorful. The fried rice was good. Definitely recommend the sourdough with their house made butter (it was cinnamon something) and their ricotta. For the main I split lobster ravioli and a beyond burger with a friend. Ravioli was good - burger was okay. They have mocktails which is nice when you're pregnant or not drinking. Friends seemed to enjoy their wine. The service outside was fine.

Laila D.

Yelp
An amazing experience from start to finish. We sat outside- but inside looked adorable as well. Our server, Taylor, was so attentive and personable. She was helpful when we asked about sharing starters and a large plate. The tequila mockingbird drink was so delicious- definitely recommend. The crispy shrimp rice, mussels, vodka rigatoni and crème brûlée cheesecake were all amazing. No complaints. We cannot wait to return. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Another fantastic meal at the Village Bistro tonight! We tried a few different things this time and they were all outstanding. The beet salad was delicious and refreshing! The shrimp on crisped rice was inventive and very tasty. And I was totally surprised by the steak frites- I was expecting a piece of steak (sirloin?) but instead was presented with what I believe was skirt steak perfectly cooked and covered in a light cream/peppercorn sauce. The meat was tender, flavorful- delicious! One of the best pieces of beef I've ever eaten. Keep up the great work, Village Bistro!

David M.

Yelp
The restaurant looked charming when we arrived. When we arrived the waitress asked if we were seeing the show at Goodspeed. We told her yes that we'd have to leave in an hour and a half. The appetizers and drinks came quickly and all of us were happy with our first course. Then there was an inexcusable wait for our main course. At the 90 minute mark they managed to slap 4 of our 5 entries on the table and we rushed to eat. Most seemed reasonable but my BLT salad was just a huge wedge of lettuce with a few scattered tomatoes, some "ham chips" that seemeed like basic bacon and a little blue cheese. We rushed to eat in 5 minutes. My wife never got her entry. Worst we got no appology and no reductions on our bill. Suffice it to say we won't be back.

Betsy S.

Yelp
The Village Bistro never ceases to amaze! The special three-course Mother's Day brunch was incredible. Creative. Beyond delicious and beautifully presented. It is not hyperbole-the meal was one of the best I have ever enjoyed. Not to mention the cozy atmosphere and the top notch service. Betsy Sandberg Essex, CT

Yelp
First time dining at the VB. We had a wonderful table. The service was top notch. The food was excellent. The ambience was just right. It was a perfect nite.

Yelp
From start to finish this whole dinner was perfection. First the space - cozy, warm, romantic - absolutely perfect for a date night. The service was excellent; the waitress checked in often and we always had everything that we needed. The Hucklecherry Finn cocktail was absolutely perfect, fruity but not too sweet. The food - just amazing. The French onion soup was some of the best I've ever had. The bowl was huge, topped with three pieces of bread and tons gooey crispy cheese. The steak frites entree was amazing - tender and delicious. Nothing could have been better, will absolutely be back.

Yelp
Wow... with Onion Soup like this, I can take a visit to France off the bucket list. I'm an absolute Onion Soup snob, and this may be my favorite EVER. I would have paid $25 for that. My wife liked her omelet... and I liked the Duck Benedict, which was interesting... though I wasn't crazy about the sauce.. Not sure if it was actually Hollandaise Sauce as you would usually find on a Benedict, but it was very thin and bubbly. It actually looked like yellow spittle. But I'll tell you what... that doesn't change my 5 star feeling for the place. The service was great, the place is adorable, quaint, and even the bathrooms are worth visiting!

Yelp
I'm torn about this place. Kim and I were excited to try it for dinner-- we did not have reservations but we arrived at 430pm and were told they could accommodate us as long as we were done by 6pm-- sure, no problem. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, lots of vintage elements and very romantic atmosphere. Service from there was a little off-- had a woman who has def worked there for a while and she seemed less than thrilled to take care of us. The menu is small, limited options. We started with the sourdough boule (which is really half a boule)-- came out warm and toasty. Kim had the roasted chicken and I had the pork chop with 898 bacon squash hash, wilted greens, cajun apple BBQ. The flavor of the hash with the bbq was fantastic, nice and tangy-- unfortunately, the pork was overcooked and tough. This dish might be more successful if it was bone in pork to keep it moist. With only two dessert options, neither of which intrigued us, that was the end of our evening. I'd love to bring my husband here, but not dinner (maybe brunch since no lunch offered).

Steve V.

Yelp
The vibe, food and service were all excellent. Monique, our server, was attentive without being overly solicitous. Just the right balance and she was knowledgeable about the food. We liked the ambiance, kind of an old world charm creating a warm and comfy vibe. We started with oysters which were fresh and accompanied by a choice of mignonette, a spice sauce or freshly grated horseradish and lemon. We moved on to steak tartare, served with the traditional quail egg. It was fresh, delicious and oh so tender. One of us had the hamburger cooked to perfection (medium rare) and the other the hanger steak frites, also delicious. Wee finished with sticky toffee carrot cake which was decadent. A wonderful evening.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here based on recommendations and it didn't disappoint. I'm not a huge fan of brunch menus (don't send hate mail) but I loved that we arrived midday on a sleepy Sunday. The decor is quaint, very Hemingway-esque which totally fills my soul. We sat at the bar and the owner who waited on us was kind and super attentive. I was hesitant to order what I did - pork belly and gulpivers travel cocktail BUT Loooordy Lord both were amazing! I've only had pork belly 2-3x before bc it's usually laden with fat and this was the perfect texture: meaty, crispy, fatty - kudos.. more importantly I was mind-blown with the cocktail. I don't like Prosecco, but I do love all the other ingredients but was afraid it would be too sweet and this my friends was a perfectly balanced cocktail. Woot!! My only regret was not ordering a second cocktail but of course this is assurance that we'll be back and I'll be imbibing my way through the cocktail menu..

Yelp
Excellent and delicious food. Great selection. Service is also superb. Very attentive regarding your experience at all times. Restaurant is beautifully decorated with furniture that is comfortable and also add to the beauty of the place.

Yelp
I had the Beef Bourgignon last night that was out of this world. Absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful with real candles, fairy lights and old world charm. Cozy, warm, and elegant. The blueberry bread pudding with vanilla ice cream was scrumptious. Village Bistro is a treasure and gem in Chester. The owner and staff are personable and on every detail to assure the best experience. I highly recommend a meal here. Thank you to Village Bistro for providing a really fun, relaxing night out with a delicious meal !

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with amazing ambiance, sensational service and fabulous food!! Outstanding oysters and dessert to die for!

Yelp
Get the sourdough bread. It was amazing and unreal. I wish they had chocolate butter so we could order it again for desert. Atmosphere was perfect. Excellent service. Their vegan fried rice was okay.

Yelp
Love it at The Village Bistro! The atmosphere is stunning with a romantic vibe! The food is always so good, and definitely try one of their cocktails or mocktails! The owner is great also! Highly recommend this restaurant, Chester is such an adorable quaint town to visit!

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing - fresh ingredients, unique creations, and beautifully plated. The inside is decorated beautifully, I love the intimate setting of it. The staff and owner are incredibly nice and extremely helpful. Everything we had - appetizers, dinner, cocktails, desserts were all delicious. I'll definitely be back for sure!

Yelp
Romantic, dreamy, whimsical. These words come to mind to describe The Village -a true gem. I had such a great time with my party of five that night. I tried the Hucklecherry Finn with Bombay Sapphire gin, elderflower, cherry, almond and lemon and the Gulpiver's Travels with Zubrowka bison grass vodka, lychee, egg white, prosecco. Both of these drinks were so perfect. Two amazingly delicious drinks! And with desserts like these...Cookies & Cream Pots de Crem with oreo crumble and marscapone- wow! Fried Reese's Peanut Butter Cup with orange, granola and cereal milk ice cream- omg! Grilled Zucchini Bread with blackberry syrup, marscapone and buttermilk ice cream- this one was great! Village Bistro in Chester features locally and regionally sourced menu items that highlight creative New American Cuisine with a touch of European flair. Their culinary menu is complemented by signature cocktails, both classic and rare wine pairings and select craft beers. Enjoy dinner in their main dining room or their intimate library lounge. That library lounge is so cool! Can't wait to visit again- the owners are absolutely wonderful and so genuine. Such good energy here.

Yelp
On our first visit to downtown Chester, we had a lovely dinner at the charming Village Bistro! My fiancé and I were sat sweetheart style in an adorable spot near the front window. I loved the historical feel here, and felt like it was a more relaxed, yet elegant spot, for fine dining. We tried some dishes that were new to us, like the plum toast and roasted squash, and enjoyed some classics with a flair, like the rigatoni alla vodka. This version had Calabrian chili in it, which gave it a nice flavor without being overly spicy. The duck breast was cooked perfectly, and the whole meal had an essence of fall flavors. The grilled plums and cookies and cream pots de creme with both great for dessert. I would love to bring my mom here sometime for a special occasion, or to explore downtown Chester again, because it's totally her vibe! We will absolutely be back.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting @thevillagebistroct in Chester last weekend and enjoy their unbelievable inspired menu! They are located in a 200 year old building that was previously the legendary du Village! They serve American cuisine with a French flair in a cozy, historic atmosphere! They use seasonal ingredients sourced from several local farms in the area! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant on your next date night! You will absolutely not regret it!
google avatar

Liz P.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely fantastic! Every dish is so well thought out and tastes amazing!! Service is super kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Decor/ambiance is SOOOO cute. Been here plenty of times- love their weekend brunches!

Yelp
I've been to restaurants at this location under at least three different managements serving different cuisines--they have all been VERY GOOD! But this iteration is wonderful. We sat at the bar--which we love--we got to talk to the friendly owner as she came and went from the computer located near us. The decor is rich and comforting--even the view out the front window up the side street in the charming town of Chester makes the dining experience extraordinary. The food was exceptional. This will be our go-to whenever we visit the Norma Terris Theater.

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful meal here on a quiet Tuesday night. Seasonal special of pumpkin cavatelli was delicious. Our guest loved the pork chop dish. Cocktails are top notch - creative and tasty - try the huckleberry one. Love the cozy atmosphere and banquette seating.

Yelp
This is the kind of place you really WANT to like. IT's inviting. It's in the center of quaint little Chester, CT. Folks like me arrive for an early dinner before going to Goodspeed which is a short drive away. We sat outside which was pleasant. We started with the oysters which were good but not great. We had salads next. Also good, but not great. The charcuterie board was good but I think the cheeses could have been more adventurous. The dessert - a poppyseed cake with ice cream was great. My husband ordered a second one! The servers are cordial and helpful. They made one mistake. We ordered espresso. She asked is we wanted single or doubles. We went for singles. She brought us a French press. We called this to her attention and she apologized for her mistake. We told her we would keep the French press because it smelled wonderful and we would skip the expresso. With that settled, we concluded our visit on a good note. (Most good restaurants, when they make a mistake, will take the item off the bill. She did not do this with the coffee ($6) and I think she should have. Oh well.) Will we return? Probably. But we will also look around for other options in the area. Something tells me the Village Bistro may be the best choice.

Yelp
An amazing gem of a restaurant, one of our absolute favorites. Gorgeous decor, delicious creative food. Do not miss the sourdough boule, french onion soup, perfect cocktails, or pasta specials. Unmatched ambiance is simply magical

Yelp
Love this new eatery in Chester and the warm vibe at this cozy candelabra lit bar. Chelsea and her team are off to a great start as the service and food are exceptional. The dishes are creative and exemplify the pedigree of this accomplished Chef. Looking forward to many more fun nights at the Village Bistro.

sara b.

Yelp
Excellent! The entire experience. The owner has thought of every detail creating elegance and warmth with lit candles and decor that is reminiscent of a European cafe. The Chef has created scrumptious and original meals. I love the chicken dishes, the steak is beyond excellent and, my husband and I recently had the beet salad with blood oranges. Scrumptious. The desserts are hard to resist using ingredients that create a flavor making every calorie worth it. We like sitting in the couch by the window and lingering with a glass of wine. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Ruth A.

Yelp
Terrific food: creative and precisely flavored! The service is personal and friendly. The decor and ambience is like being your most admired aunt's dining room and bar! Most enjoyable experience but beware it's tiny!

Ellen S.

Yelp
What a great little place! Service was wonderful! Our drinks and dinner were delicious. We had the street corn app, Burger and lobster ravioli. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
My father and I came in for a 5:30 dinner reservation yesterday evening. The bistro is a bustling and lively space- hip but with absolutely zero pretension. The decor and atmosphere where particularly striking- beautiful color and finish choices, from the ceiling, to the partition between the bar and dining space, to the artwork, tables, chairs, and plates; all of which gave the feel of being in a beautiful jewelry box. Music was also perfect in energy and volume. The restaurant is run by a small, dedicated team who clearly love their work and took a team approach to caring for each group of diners. Onto the food (no drinks were had, though I can attest they looked beautiful!). We shared the shisito pepper appetizer which came with a spread of whipped lemon ricotta and hot honey. My only wish for this dish was to have more of the ricotta mixture to drag the peppers through, but otherwise, it was great. The French onion soup is not to be missed- absolutely perfect in presentation and taste, the broth -soulful with depth of flavor that requires a great deal of thoughtfulness and care, and absolutely ideal bread and cheese ratios. We had meals that were not typically what you'd choose in a bistro, dad had beef pad Thai and I had the tacos di birria small plate special as my main. We were pleased with both and look forward to returning to enjoy other menu items!

Yelp
Went for dinner last night for our anniversary. The place is the former (L&E and Hot French Chix (?) and formerly DuVillage.). Note:you do enter the front door, not the side door as we did previously.) We had two of their specialty drinks and they were nice but not blown away. But ... the food was excellent! Had Apples on sourdough bread to start. Hubby had the Caesar salad and I had French onion soup. The most memorable was the pork chop entree. Dessert was special too as friends had called the restaurant and ordered it for us. All in all, s great night.

Yelp
My wife and I had the Easter Brunch course menu today. I'm so happy we switched it up this year and tried something new. I've never had a butternut crab bisque, but this was the best soup I've ever had. The shrimp and grits was everything I expected and more. Plating was on point. My experience left me wanting more, I can't wait to go back and try the small plates on the main menu. I'm not a drinker and I really appreciate when restaurants offer mocktail options. I had the Hucklecherry Finn which was fantastic. The drink was perfectly blended and not too sweet. Amanda had the Sound and The Slurry and she loved it. The service was outstanding and the coursing was perfectly timed. Quality food and drink, great atmosphere and ambiance, fantastic service... often times, you can find 2 out of the 3. The village bistro knocked all three out of the park. We had the pleasure of meeting Chelsey. She was delightful and accommodating. She took the time to ensure everything was to our liking. I could easily tell she is passionate about service and quality food and wants nothing less than the ultimate dining experience for her patrons. I wish the best for her and her team! We will be back... with friends, and then back again with more friends! Can't wait until next time!

Yelp
Excellent service, amazing drinks and yummy food. This place is a hidden gem in CT. The bartenders and staff are highly skilled in making great drinks. Will definitely return

Yelp
Very disappointed in the Monkfish "Osso Buco". It was way overcooked and mushy. Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer was good.
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
I have fond memories of restaurant du village; this was my first trip to its successor 59 Main Street. It's still pretty, cozy and evokes something in the French countryside. Food was fine and service was excellent but I was still a bit disappointed. Starting with the drinks, the menu's description was more enticing than what was served. As no one is shy on charging $15 for a cocktail, I wanted more booze, less ice and a more ample pour of the specialty Jim and the giant peach, Huck Finn and standard vodka martinis. The shared apps were the high mark for the fare; loved the Mexican street corn dip with house made chips; roasted beets with yogurt, and mushroom toast. The entrees suffered from the same fate as the drinks. Small and underwhelming. Shrimp risotto was citrusy but really light on peas and pistou; monkfish osso buco was well received but the evening special of coq au vin would not have cut it at Du Village. It was a essentially chicken breast stew lacking the traditional punch of red wine, bacon or herbs. An inexpensive bottle of red and no dessert or coffee yet it was still $185 a couple I miss the crusty authentic Frenchman that ran the old place
google avatar

Yelp
The prettiest restaurant in Chester. Love that the owner uses real candles at the bar. Even seeing it from the outside conjures old world warmth and romanticism. Great for a quick cocktail or a long catch up dinner with a friend - I've done both a handful of times.

Yelp
10 STARS!!! We were looking for a place to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday, and we chose The Village Bistro. It was absolutely perfect! The staff, ambience, and food were so lovely and delicious. My family, especially my mom, had a wonderful and memorable time in such a special place. The Bistro is the heart of Chester! We will certainly be back again and again. A great big thanks to Chelsey and her fabulous team. Everything was superb!!

Yelp
Didn't meet our expectations. It felt like we'd get a higher quality food and service when we found this place online than we did. The food was okay. The service was okay. Not absolutely terrible, but not what we expected either. Forgot to bring out our drinks until we reminded. The steak tartare had too much Dijon not allowing natural flavors to come through. The onion soup was barely warm and tasted like something you could get from a store. The service was slow. People with little babies/kids don't have all the time in the world to sit around at the table. No baby-friendly chair/equipment. The staff was putting plates with food, including steak tartare, in front of our baby who is curious and trying to grab everything! Very limited choice of wines by the glass. We may give it another try and some of the other menu options at some point, but not in the near future.

Yelp
I went here for dinner before a play at the Terris. I sat at the bar. Loved the ambiance. Food was good. I had the mussels that were not served traditional with just a white wine sauce. I liked the way they did it. It is listed as small plate but it is entree size. I also had the shrimp risotto which was good. My only issue was with the service. Bartender was juggling the bar, tables, and service bar but seemed to be overwhelmed. Failed to ask me if I wanted anything other than water to drink. There was a big delay in taking my food order even though he was standing around with nothing to do and I had set the menu aside. There was a big delay getting my entree after my app. It almost seemed like he had not put it in. I sat with dirty dishes for a big part of the meal that I was finished with. What was also strange is a coworker came to help him and gave a couple who she knew sitting next to me another round of drinks but did not ask me who also had an empty wine glass which she walked by. The overall service was just strange and not what I am used to from other places. It was almost like the bartender had never waited before.

First and foremost...the food is fantastic! My steak frite was the best I've had this side of NYC! Perfectly cooked with a side sauce of a butter caper mixture...PLUS a little Hollandaise on the side! Dream come true! My friends duck was fabulous also. Service impeccable. Quality matters. You'll find it here in this cozy restaurant!
