This was our first time at Vintage 1979, and we were a bit confused at first since we saw people already sitting down. We weren’t sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated or order at the register. I approached the lady behind the counter and explained our confusion and asked for guidance. She seemed a little confused as well, so I asked if we should just grab a menu and pick a table to order from. She nodded, so we sat down and waited about 10 minutes. Eventually we noticed new customers coming in, ordering directly at the register, and then sitting at their tables to wait for their food and drinks. So I got back up and ordered at the counter like everyone else. No big deal just a bit unclear for first-timers.
We ordered the tropical smoothie ($8.50, seemed like a 20oz), the tiramisu coffee ($8.00 about 16oz), and the exotic mango cake ($8.50) for dessert. Everything was adorably presented and delicious. On the menu the tropical smoothie shows a white teddy bear on top, but ours was pink and seemed to be made from frozen strawberries or a berry mix. We didn’t mind, it was still super cute and tasty. Honestly the teddy bear topper was my favorite part and made the visit totally worth it.
I probably wouldn’t get the tiramisu coffee again as it just tasted like iced coffee with chocolate powder. Next time I’d love to try their latte cappuccino or the special matcha latte. They also had adorable mini Lafufus for around $5 each.
The shop is beautifully decorated, the prices are reasonable and competitive, and it’s a fun spot to catch up with friends. Definitely worth checking out.
